According to real-life data, these are officially the scariest Halloween movies! A study was conducted by The Science of Scare Project who had participants wear heart monitors to track their heartbeat throughout each movie screening and here's where they landed:

5. The Conjuring (2013): Based on a true story, two paranormal investigators help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their new farmhouse.

4. Insidious (2010): A family tries to save their son after he falls into a coma and becomes trapped in a dark spirit realm called the Further.

3. Skinamarink (2022): Two kids wake up in the middle of the night to find their dad missing and all the doors and windows in their house gone.

2. Host (2020): Six friends host a séance over Zoom during lockdown—and accidentally invite something terrifying into their homes.

1. Sinister (2012): A true-crime writer moves his family into a house with a dark past and finds home movies that reveal a string of gruesome murders.
