JAY-Z is shutting down all the naysayers who have an issue with Bad Bunny’s anticipated performance at the Super Bowl.

During a conversation TMZ published on Monday, October 27, the Roc Nation founder was asked why people are hating on the Puerto Rican artist after he was selected to headline the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show in Santa Clara, Calif. next year. In Hov’s opinion, people actually love Benito but there’s clearly an agenda to discredit his talent.

“They love him, don’t let them fool you,” he said as he signed autographs for fans in New York City.

Both JAY-Z and Bad Bunny have received plenty of criticism after the NFL announced the “MIA” rapper as the Super Bowl Halftime performer. Since the announcement, a slew of conservative pundits, and even President Donald Trump, have scoffed at the notion of having Bad Bunny, who’s an American citizen, perform in Spanish during the Big Game. So much so that haters have launched a Change.org petition to replace Bad Bunny with Country artist George Strait. Turning Point USA also announced their plan to host a separate halftime performance that will air at the same time as Bad Bunny’s set. The performers have not been confirmed, but the conservative organization recently released a survey asking fans to select which type of music they’d like to hear.

Despite the outcry from non-Spanish-speaking Americans, the NFL has no plans to replace Bad Bunny. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell recently commented on the situation and confirmed that El Conejo Malo is here to stay.

“He’s one of the most leading, popular entertainers in the world,” Goodell said. “That’s what we try to achieve. It’s an important stage for us. It’s carefully thought through. We’re confident it’s going to be a great show.”
