Rainfall Totals Released From Recent Storms

(Melbourne, FL) --The recent storms are responsible for dumping over a foot of rain in Lake County. The National Weather Service yesterday released the rainfall totals from Sunday's and Monday's storms. Eustis recorded almost 20 inches. In Brevard County, Port St. John got over 15-and-a-half inches. In Volusia County, DeLand got over 7 inches. In Orange County, Windermere got over 5 inches, and in Seminole County, Lake Mary got 4-and-a-half inches.  

Volusia County Girl Arrested For Kill List

(DeLand, FL) --A Volusia County child's idea of a joke has her facing criminal charges. The sheriff's office announced yesterday 11-year-old Aahriyanna Reed was arrested for making a written threat to kill. Deputies say she had four names on a kill list at her desk at the Riverview Learning Center in Ormond Beach. Reed apparently told investigators she was just playing. Besides the second-degree felony, she's also accused of violating her probation. 

Jacksonville Special Needs School Closes Due To Shutdown

(Jacksonville, FL) --A Jacksonville school for kids with special needs appears to be a victim of the government shutdown. The Jericho School for Children with Autism announced Sunday it's temporary closure last week is now permanent. Over two dozen students attend the school on Sprinkle Drive. Officials blame the decision on the shutdown that started October First. They say the shutdown led to delays in insurance payments, which are vital to their operations. The school first opened over 30 years ago.  

SpaceX Sets Launch Record

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- SpaceX is setting a new launch record. It has launched 136 rockets so far this year, surpassing NASA's 135 total lifetime launches. It's not clear how many more launches SpaceX has planned in November and December.

Dalton Couple Arrested For Possessing Radioactive Material, Gun

(Chattanooga, TN) --A couple from Tennessee is facing charges for possessing radioactive material. An arrest report says the couple's car was found at a Harrison Bay State Park campground after it had closed. Inside the car officers found a metal box with a warning label warning about radioactive material. The couple was later found fishing by the lake with a campfire deemed illegal. Brandon Wilson and Carissa Shuey are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
