Charles Kelley Debuts Soul-Stirring, 80s-Infused Anthem: 'Steal Your Heart'

Charles Kelley is “living in the moment, buzzing with the thrill of new infatuation,” in the infectious single he debuted on Friday (October 31).
The Lady A star and solo artist teamed up with Lindsay Rimes, Michael Whitworth and Josh Kear to write “Steal Your Heart.” The song keeps Kelley’s signature 80s inspiration alive, following his 16-track album, Songs For A New Moon, that released over the summer.
“I’m honestly having such a great time creating and chasing this creative muse,” Kelley said as he released “Steal Your Heart” on Friday. “The way we’re able to make and release music so spontaneously, as it’s being made, feeds my soul in a way I hadn’t expected. I hope the fans are enjoying it as much as I am."

“I’ve always loved really well-written, great ‘80s pop, from Toto to Ambrosia, and I always just felt like no one gave it enough credit,” Kelley previously said in a press release of Songs For A New Moon. “This is me wanting to explore a different sound and pull from influences I’ve had for the longest time – but I didn’t want to make an ‘80s sounding record, and then throw a bunch of country ‘insurance’ on it. I almost feel like that would be an insult to the listener... I wanted to go all-in."
In the midst of his solo work, Kelley, who welcomed Baby No. 2 with wife Cassie Kelley this year, also released On This Winter’s Night (Volume 2) with Lady A bandmates Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott. The Grammy-winning trio will kick off their first-ever Christmas tour in early December.
