Shutdown! Dems Losing PR Battle

October 31, 2025

Lamar Jackson led the Baltimore Ravens to a huge win over the Miami Dolphins last night. He was back from a hamstring injury, but it may not be his physical recovery that was leading the way. After all, work is work, even if it’s play.

There are more signs of changes at CBS. It’s a long climb to regain a lost reputation, but I still hope the network can do it.

Governor DeSantis wants the H-1B staffers gone at Florida universities. Is he grabbing onto the most popular argument of the moment or will this truly help Florida’s potential instructors get a job? It makes you wonder if he may not be suspending Chandler Langevin!

A Federal District Judge had ordered an ICE commander to give her daily reports on ICE operations in Chicago, interjecting herself in executive responsibilities. An appeals court’s told her no!

The Democrats are getting credit (Read that as blame) for the government shutdown. I had to explain the shutdown to my 9-year-old granddaughter after school yesterday. Blame for the Dems comes form multipole unions, the press and the American public. Let’s hope the voting public holds this memory heading into next year’s midterm elections.

Lastly, the president is urging Republicans to end the filibuster through a rules change. While it sounds nice at the moment, is the idea a wise one? Republicans won’t always have the majority and it may be a necessary tool.
