Authorities have launched a manhunt for Dominic Liam Connelly, a 24-year-old from North Carolina, suspected of killing his grandmother, Patricia Jean Timek Lopedote, and setting her house on fire in Craven County. The U.S. Marshals have joined the search, which began after Lopedote was found dead in her burned home on October 25. Connelly is also accused of stabbing a deputy in Vanceboro on October 29, who survived the attack.

Connelly was last seen in Vanceboro, North Carolina, and is considered armed and dangerous. He has ties to New York, and authorities believe he might have received outside help to evade capture. Sheriff Chip Hughes of Craven County stated that anyone assisting Connelly could face criminal charges.

The manhunt has involved multiple local, state, and federal agencies, utilizing aerial technology, drones, and K-9 units to search the heavily wooded areas around Craven and Beaufort counties. Despite several sightings, including one captured on a trail camera near U.S. Highway 17, Connelly remains at large.

Due to the ongoing search, local schools have adjusted schedules, and residents are urged to check their surveillance systems for any signs of Connelly. The U.S. Marshals and Craven County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward for information leading to his capture. Anyone with information is advised to contact 911 immediately.
