That's according to a recent poll by Florida Atlantic University's Business of Economic Polling Initiative. Fifty-three percent said they would consider leaving Florida. BEPI surveyed one-thousand residents to gauge their outlook on life, the economy, and their standard of living. Despite their concerns, most Floridians said they still believe in the American Dream.
DeSantis Discusses Election Results
(Tallahassee, FL) --Governor Ron DeSantis says New York City voters have committed "ballistic podiatry." He told Fox News last night that by electing Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani as mayor, they have shot themselves in the foot. DeSantis says the only people that think Mamdani's policies will work have never studied a lick of history. He predicts public safety will collapse under Mamdani. DeSantis adds part of the reason Mamdani won is because so many people who would have voted for someone else have moved to Florida in recent years.

Leon County Woman Sues Over State Parking Law
(Tallahassee, FL) --A Leon County woman is suing the state over a law meant to help pregnant women. Olivia Keller sued last week to overturn a law that allows pregnant women to get a handicapped parking permit. She claims the law violates the Americans with Disabilities Act by allowing pregnant women to use the few available spots reserved for the handicapped. According to the lawsuit, fewer parking spaces means Keller's ability to participate in work, medical care, social and community activities is severely limited. Keller tells West Palm Beach's CBS 12 she empathizes with pregnant women, but the law is putting convenience above need.

Brooke Schinault reported last month that a man broke into her home and sexually assaulted her. St. Petersburg Police, though, say there was no break-in, and the photo she gave them of the suspect was a fake she generated using artificial intelligence. A police official tells 10 Tampa Bay this is part of a TikTok trend.
Predators CEO Says Team Name Isn't Going Anywhere After SNL Sketch
(Nashville, TN) --The Nashville Predators are leaning into the spotlight after being featured in a viral "Saturday Night Live" sketch, and they have no plans to change their name. CEO Sean Henry says the sketch, which poked fun at the team's name, actually boosted awareness and donations to the Predators Foundation, which has given over 11-million dollars to local projects. Henry points out the name innocently comes from a saber-toothed cat fossil found downtown in the '70s, and the team has spent years giving back to the community, including building playgrounds and supporting outreach programs. He calls the SNL moment "a stroke of luck" that brought attention to both the team and its charitable work.
