The Sky is Falling
November 5, 2025
Pickleball’s out and pronouns are in. That’s about all you need to know of Brevard’s special district and municipal elections.
Across the nation, the communists are winning the day. Mamdani’s the new mayor of New York. Spanberger’s governor in Virginia and Sherill’s got the job in New Jersey. Seattle and Minneapolis, each with strong socialist campaigns, remain undecided. California has passed Governor Gavin Newsom’s redistricting idea. I have to wonder if these aren’t all just huge ant-Trump stances. I’m also wondering if it’s not the education establishment failing the country. Then again, that’s not really wondering at all.
In addition to election news, I have these stories in play:
A Harvard degree used to be something to brag about. Brevard kills open carry for employees. An appeals court has upheld a Florida law banning Chinese nationals from buying property. One congressman has filed articles of impeachment against the judge handling Arctic Frost documentation. And an observation: just because one knows or says something does not mean it must be said out loud. Often that can be detrimental.
It’s Wide Open Wednesday…what do you have in mind for our day?
