New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was taken out of his team's Week 9 road game against the Chicago Bears at the beginning of the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a possible concussion, FOX Sports sideline reporter Pam Oliver reported during the game's live broadcast.

Veteran backup Russell Wilson took over at quarterback in Dart's absence. Wilson began the year as the Giants' starting quarterback before being replaced by Dart ahead of their Week 4 win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dart, who was selected by the Giants at No. 25 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, is currently the favorite to win the 2025 NFL Rookie of the Year award, entering Sunday's (November 9) game with 1,175 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions on 109 of 175 passing, as well as 251 yards and five touchdowns on 51 rushing attempts. The former Ole Miss standout threw for 242 yards on 19 of 29 passing and recorded a team-best 66 rushing yards and two touchdowns on six attempts prior to his injury.

The Giants led the Bears, 17-10, prior to Dart's exit and capped off Wilson's first drive with a 19-yard field goal by Younghoe Koo with 10:19 remaining in the fourth quarter. New York has already lost primary wide receiver Malik Nabers and rookie running back Cam Skattebo to season-ending injuries.
