Max B is finally free after he spent the past 16 years behind bars.

On Sunday, November 9, The Wave God, born Charley Wingate, walked out of the Northern State Prison in New Jersey after he completed his sentence. Family and friends surrounded Max B as he exited the property. In a video he posted to Instagram, French Montana revealed the moment he reunited with his longtime friend and collaborator in person for the first time in years.

"CANT MAKE THIS UP ! MY BROTHER REALLY CAME HOME ON MY B DAY ! HAMDULILLAH 🤲🏼 WALKED IT DOWN ! NO MORE FREE YOU 🌊 🌊 🌊" French wrote in his caption.

Max B was originally sentenced to 75 years in prison after he was convicted of murder and armed robbery. After his trial in 2009, both Max and his co-defendant, Kelvin Leerdam, were convicted on 9 of 11 counts, including felony murder. In 2016, a state Superior Court judge vacated the rapper's conviction due to a conflict of interest involving one of the rapper's former defense attorneys. The opportunity allowed Max B to plead guilty to one count of aggravated manslaughter. Afterward, the judge sentenced him to 20 years with time served, which drastically reduced his sentence.

Wavy Crockett didn't waste any time living life after prison. Soon after he was released, Max B was spotted on the field at MetLife Stadium. While watching the New York Jets play against the Cleveland Browns, the 46-year-old rapper reflected on his freedom and gave fans a fit check. Later on, French posted a video of himself in the studio with the Harlem rapper.

"WORKING ON THE GDAY 🍿 COKE WAVE 3 LOADING ⏳," he wrote.

Welcome home, Max B!
