A$AP Relli is ready to move on from his four-year legal battle with childhood friend A$AP Rocky.

In a statement he provided to Billboard on Tuesday, November 11, an attorney for the former member of the A$AP Mob, born Terell Ephron, announced that he has dropped the civil lawsuit he filed against Rocky. The Grammy-nominated rapper, born Rakim Mayers, was acquitted in February of two felony assault charges. In addition to the criminal charges, Ephron filed a civil lawsuit over financial damages he allegedly suffered as a result of the shooting.

“At this point, he’s ready to simply move on from the shooting,” Ephron's attorney Aaron Morris said. “The ordeal has been a nightmare for him, and the statements calling him a ‘liar’ and worse effectively eliminated his chances of a career in the industry.”

Terell Ephron alleged A$AP Rocky intentionally fired a gun at him after they got into a heated argument outside of a hotel in West Hollywood in November 2021. He claimed Rocky aimed his handgun at him and fired two shots at him. The father of three rejected a plea offer from prosecutors and went to trial. During his testimony in court, Ephron said he could feel the heat from one of the bullets after it allegedly grazed his hand. The Harlem native also testified at the trial and told the court he carried a prop gun and fired blanks at Ephron.

Rocky's attorney, Joe Tacopina, alleged Ephron was trying to extort Rocky in a "get-rich-quick scheme." Ephron responded by filing a defamation lawsuit against both Rocky and Tacopina.

“He’s going to litigate the defamation action because of the damages it caused, but as to the shooting, he’s thankful he wasn’t hurt worse and is focusing on rebuilding his life,” Morris added.

Ephron's civil lawsuit was set to go to trial early next year. Instead, he's “focusing on rebuilding his life.”
