HOW HAVE CLIMATE SCIENTISTS REALLY DONE WITH THEIR PREDICTIONS? Climate science is about predicting what the weather is going to do in the future, which is super hard. We're constantly told what is going to happen in 100 years when we can't accurately predict the weather out two weeks. Dr. Matthew Wielicki took the time to compare what the climate scientist predicted with what actually happened, and it went about as well as you can expect. You can find his Substack about it here, but it is paywalled because this is how he pays his bills but he is on today at 1 to talk about it.

ARMY INCOMPETENCE GOT THIS MAN DEPORTED And I am so disappointed that they didn't come forth during this whole ordeal and help Jose Barco. Jose Barco came to the states as a child illegally. He chose to join the military during the Iraq War and not only served honorably, he is a Purple Heart recipient as well. The Army PROMISED to do the paperwork to help him become a citizen and they dropped the ball. They just never sent it. He later committed a serious crime, which he said was partially because of his PTSD, and did his time. Upon release, ICE showed up to deport the "criminal alien" which he was. If the Army had just done what they said they were going to do, he would still be here, out of prison with his family. This man is not perfect, but he chose to serve as a means to address his citizenship and that should mean something. Apparently it means nothing because he's being deported to Mexico right now. From the Denver Gazette:

Barco’s family is Cuban. His father, who lives in Florida, was a Cuban political prisoner who protested against communism. Jose Barco was born when the family fled to Venezuela. When he turned 5, the Barcos were granted asylum in America.

The promise of U.S. citizenship from an Army recruiter sounded better than working construction in Miami, so he joined up at 17 before he graduated from high school. Between his two Iraq tours he filled out citizenship papers, a process that was overseen by his commanding officer. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services received the documents, but no one knows exactly what happened to them. Barco tried for citizenship again after his second tour, but he never finished them possibly because the 22-year-old was, as he described it, “a mess.”

This is shameful and the Army should have done SOMETHING to help this man. But here we are.

CUTTING MEDICAID IS BAD! UNLESS POLIS DOES IT And Dick Wadhams writes here about the interesting blame game going on about Medicaid cuts. The long and short of it is when the Republican led federal government rolls back Medicaid to the confines it needs to be, that's bad. Kicking people who make more in income than Medicaid should accept is horrible! But when Governor Jared Polis balances the budget on the backs of the most vulnerable, that's Good! THE SHUTDOWN WAS A FAILURE FOR DEMOCRATS And the interesting thing is the American people know it. A CBS News poll asked the question and the American people said Republicans got more of what they wanted at a whopping 55%. And now Democrats are in a terrible position because they fashioned themselves as the champions for people who have been getting subsidies well beyond where Obamacare was supposed to subsidize things. Now they are trying to blame Republicans for a mess of their own creation. Check this from Brittany Petterson:

TRUMP KNOWS HE'S GOING TO LOSE THE EPSTEIN VOTE And so he's completely shifted gears and now SUPPORTS the release of the Epstein files. Mmmkay. I really don't care, I just want everything out so we can see it, talk about it, and move on. I don't think a single powerful man will be held accountable for victimizing teen girls. Just saying. It all happened after this nasty, disgusting tweet about Congressman Thomas Massie, who recently remarried a little more than year after the death of his wife.

Massie was on a Sunday show talking about why these records need to be released and he's 100% right.

I know a lot of you think Trump is right about Massie. You could not be MORE WRONG. We all say we want politicians who will cut the budget and put Americans first. We want a politician to release the Epstein files. Massie is THAT GUY, and you guys hate him because Trump doesn't give a crap about the deficit which is going to destroy us and wants to protect his friends who are on the list. Thomas Massie is a unicorn in DC, a man of principle who is entirely consistent in the way he votes. If you hate him then you are lying to yourself about the values you claim to have.

Talk about a guy who can dish it out (see above) and not take it. Now he's whining that Seth Meyers needs to be fired. Why? Because he tells mean jokes about Trump. How about this, Mr. President, turn off the damn tv? How about that? Instead, you have the Chair of the FCC doing his best lackey imitation by retweeting this trash:

And before you say anything, if the FCC Chief under any Democrat reposted a demand that Greg Gutfeld be fired for saying mean things about a Democrat President I hope you'd have the good sense to be apoplectic about it. Please. This sort of thing is what gives rise to the "petty dictator" comments because that is how he is acting. This is a long article about the things Brendan Carr has been up to as head of the FCC. Some I like, some I think overreach badly and I'm concerned about what happens when the next administration takes over.

CANADIAN HEALTHCARE IS SO BAD PEOPLE ARE ASKING TO DIE If you want to know what single payer healthcare looks like when you are sick, or old, read this horrifying account of Canadian healthcare. People left in hallways, who can't get care, are asking for assisted suicide rather than to continue to fight for the "free" healthcare they've been promised.

BAD ECONOMIC NEWS: MORE LATE POWER BILLS When someone falls behind on their power bill that's a sign things are really not good, as people prioritize keeping the lights on even when things get tough. Now power bill delinquencies are up to almost ten percent, at the same time power bills have gone up 12%. Why did power bills go up? My guess is they are in idiotic states like ours who are trying to go all renewable.

DENVER'S WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM COULD MOVE OUT OF DENVER Because the Denver City Council is balking on some of the already agreed upon things, like a huge chunk of money to buy the land for the stadium. The team released this statement to Fox 31, which is a pretty clear threat to take their business elsewhere:

“Denver Summit FC ownership is committed to fulfilling our obligations to the league, our fans, our athletes and the community. That means we need to deliver a purpose-built stadium for women’s professional soccer – on time, ready for play in March of 2028. We have been planning for a permanent stadium at Santa Fe Yards in Denver’s urban core. Given the challenges we have faced in the Denver City Council process, we are currently pursuing a parallel path regarding the stadium site and engaging with other jurisdictions outside Denver. We will continue to engage in an open and honest dialogue with the Mayor, City Council and Community in Denver. We are grateful for the steadfast support that we have received from fans, the community, the Mayor, the business community and small businesses throughout Denver.”

So what will the City Council do now? And if I'm Lone Tree, I'm picking up the phone today to call the team. Just saying.

MUSLIM MAN SENTENCED FOR CHRISTIAN HATE CRIMES One of which occurred in Colorado. He went into churches wearing backpacks with fake bombs in them, all the while he was actually trying to build a real bomb to blow up Christians. Why? YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY A HOME, BUT CAN YOU AFFORD TO OWN A HOME And you should pay attention to this story about the hidden costs of owning a home that you are expected to pony up every year. They are rising faster than incomes. This is a huge problem and one that makes me hate the concept of a 50 year mortgage even more. I ran the numbers, and with a 50 year mortgage you don't pay on your principal for TEN YEARS. That is going to make someone think twice when they need a new roof and can't afford it. Just saying.
