The Weekend: Rakin with Dad, Eagles, Eggos, Engagements & Bar Cards

The weekend started Friday afternoon when I headed over to my Dad's house to help blow/rake his yard. The backpack blower is the greatest piece of equipment ever invented (at least on days like this -hahah)

3 truckloads later, and Arnie's yard was totally clean.

For about an hour. Haha- but hey, the bulk of it outta there before the wind picked up that night!

Then later- we ended up at a new little brew pub in Dover NH called CZAR'S - and we had a good time having a brew, playing a little rummy! (I had a Lemon Creme Ale, in case you re wondering)

Slept in on Saturday morning and feasted on delicious EGGO WAFFLES! Thats right kids- Big Daddy eats the ol' LEGGO MY EGGOS! I don't care what you say - they're STILL good!

And the best part - I had it with RAYMOND SUGARHOUSE MAPLE SYRUP - made in North Hartland Vermont! Amazing local syrup!!!

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS only use LOCAL made in New England syrup! Accept no substitutes! I will never understand why - when we make the best maple syrup in the country right here at home- anyone would ever settle for store bough fake stuff. Ugh- GETOUTTAHEREWITHTHATNONSENSE!

Also - Saturday afternoon I hit downtown Durham to grab some framed photos from Amys Frame Shop for the Lend a Helping Can on line auction! Had to power up with some Joe from a long time favorite stop

And then it was out with our son Tyler and his fiance' Morgan to celebrate their engagement (while we were in Ireland). That called for our favorite restaurant- MC Perkins Cove in Ogunquit!

Now you're sayin - "Kretchy - what'd ya have, bro???"

DUH. Cup of chowder and a lobster. Boom. It was a great night, and the food and service were top shelf. Javier and Dana, the owners, are lovely people and do an amazing job.

Sunday morning, I visited a couple of old friends.

And ended the weekend trying to watch a little tv. But when Daisy realized I might be having a little snack whilst on the couch - she quickly became an obstacle for television watching-
