Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James' record streak of consecutive regular-season games double-digit scoring streak has come to an end.

James finished Thursday's (December 4) game against the Toronto Raptors with eight points, falling short of double figures for the first time since January 6, 2007 and ending his streak at 1,297 consecutive games. The four-time NBA champion opted not to shoot, instead recording a game-winning assist to set up Rui Hachimura's 3-pointer as time expired to give the Lakers a 123-120 win.

James responded, "none," when asked what thoughts he had about the streak ending, adding, "we won," while addressing reporters via ESPN.

"Just playing the game the right way. You always make the right play," he said. "That's just been my M.O. That's how I was taught the game. I've done that my whole career."

"LeBron is acutely aware of how many points he has at that point," said Lakers coach JJ Redick via ESPN. "He did it like he's done so many times."

"The basketball gods, if you do it the right way, they tend to reward you," the former NBA player turned coach added.

James' streak is 431 more than Michael Jordan, who ranked second at 866 consecutive double-digit scoring games, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at 787 games and Karl Malone at 575 games. Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant has the longest active streak at 267 games and it would take adding 11 current players together to match James' 1,297-game streak, according to ESPN.
