2025 College Football Playoff 12-Team Field Revealed

The full 2025 College Football Playoff 12-team field was revealed during a live selection show on ESPN Sunday (December 7).
The undefeated Indiana Hoosiers topped both the Associated Press and College Football Playoff rankings for the first time in history following a 13-10 win against the previously undefeated and defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State had previously held the No. 1 overall ranking in the Associated Press poll since preseason and the College Football Playoff poll since it was initially announced in November.
The Georgia Bulldogs took the No. 3 seed following its 28-7 win against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game, avenging its only loss of the 2025 regular season. The Texas Tech Red Raiders took the fourth and final bye seed after its 34-7 win against the BYU Cougars, their second decisive in in two matchups this year.
Notre Dame (10-2) and BYU (11-2) were the first two teams out of the final 12-team field. The full College Football Playoff rankings are listed below with the 12 playoff teams listed in bold:
