How You Can Help Kids and Families During Giveathon

December 8, 2025

You’re going to hear some amazing stories over the next couple of days.

Stories from parents and kids about Rady Children’s Hospital.

The annual Rady Children’s Hospital Giveathon comes at an especially critical time.

With the rising cost of living and government funding cutbacks, many non-profit organizations are struggling. And so are families of course who face high prices for food and lots of other things.

But a report last week shows signs of the hard economic times not affecting charitable donations as you might think.

According to estimates from the non-profit Giving Tuesday organization, which promotes giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Americans gave $4 billion to nonprofits on Giving Tuesday here in 2025…an increase from the $3.6 billion they gave in 2024.

And they say overall donations increased 8% from last year when adjusted for inflation and that they have seen the average donation on Giving Tuesday increase in size over time.

So, it seems that while economic worries are real, a spirit of giving is also real.

And Christmas time is a time when we give gifts and also share the hope that the holiday brings.

And that’s what the Rady Children’s Hospital Giveathon is all about.

Helping kids and families in our community who need help when they need it from a place where hope and miracles happen every day.
