An uncooperative witness in the death of Celeste Rivas will reportedly be arrested and forced to testify in front of a grand jury.
According to a report TMZ published on Wednesday, December 10, Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman, who's presenting the case to a grand jury, spoke with attorney Evan Jenness, who represents D4vd's manager Robert Morgenroth and an alleged uncooperative witness. Silverman told Jenness that she asked the judge to issue a body attachment order and force the female witness to testify after she didn't appear at her scheduled testimony. As of this report, the woman has not been publicly identified.
It's another sign that authorities are making progress in their case involving D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, and the late Celeste Rivas, whose remains were found in the singer's Tesla in September. Police reportedly began to seriously consider D4vd a suspect after they discovered he and another unidentified person took a trip to the middle of nowhere in Santa Barbara County earlier this year. They allege D4vd could've had help dismembering Rivas' body, and storing it. There were reports that Rivas' body was found "partially frozen" but the Los Angeles Police Department disputed the report.
Meanwhile, Morgenroth spent the past three days testifying in front of a grand jury. Morgenroth served as D4vd's day-to-day manager, the general manager of the singer's record label, and the president of D4vd's touring company, Zara Brothers Travel. Following the first day of testimony, he reportedly told his lawyer that Beth Silverman pressed him on why he never called the police on his client.
"She was very pushy on why I didn't call police," Morgenroth allegedly told his attorney. "I said I feel like I didn't have the responsibility to do that, and just wanted to continue with the tour."
As of this report, D4vd has yet to speak out about Rivas' death, despite the alleged connections between them.
