SZA thinks Trump's White House is using sinister tactics to troll artists and spread propaganda.
On Wednesday, December 10, the Grammy Award-winning singer expressed her opinion about the way President Donald Trump's Administration is using musicians to push its agenda on social media. In an X post, she replied to her former manager Terrence “Punch” Henderson, who shared his thoughts about the subject without naming any artist in particular.
"Trying to provoke artist to respond in order to help spread propaganda and political agendas is nasty business. Knock it off," Henderson wrote. "White House rage baiting artists for free promo is PEAK DARK," SZA replied. "Inhumanity +shock and aw tactics ..Evil n Boring

Since he took office earlier this year, President Trump's White House social media team has made tasteless posts about their political positions while targeting artists who've criticized them. After Trump personally lashed out at Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen on Truth Social, Ariana Grande became a target of the Trump Administration's social media team after she defended the transgender community in September. In response, White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai used the titles of Grande's popular songs to defend the administration's policies.
"Save your tears, Ariana, because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investments," Desai said in a statement. "He even signed an executive order just like magic that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticketmaster for ripping off Ariana Grande’s concert-going fans. Get well soon, Ariana!"
In recent weeks, Sabrina Carpenter also condemned the White House after they tried to flip her viral clip on "Saturday Night Live" into a promotional video for Trump's ICE raids. In an X post, Carpenter said their video was “evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.” Other artists, including pop star Olivia Rodrigo and rock singer Kenny Loggins, have also slammed the Trump Administration for using their music in their propaganda videos.
