Taylor Swift isn't going away anytime soon.
During a Wednesday (December 10) appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Life of a Showgirl singer confirmed she plans to keep making music despite some haters' wishes for her to "go away," E! News reports.
"I think there are certain corners of our society that really love and look up to longevity," she said. "There's also corners that are like, 'Give someone else a turn. Can't you just go away so we can talk about how good you were?'"
However, Swift had a very direct response to that suggestion: "I don't want to."
The "Opalite" hitmaker even shouted out Stevie Nicks as one legendary musician with a decades-long career who she can reach out to for advice. The Fleetwood Mac singer has previously praised Swift's songs and even penned a poem for Swift's 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift also credited producer and frequent collaborator Max Martin as someone she can turn to as well as her fiancé Travis Kelce, who she said she can "talk to him about any of this."
The "Fate of Ophelia" singer's latest comments on continuing her career come two months after she shut down "shockingly offensive" rumors that she was going to stop making music after marrying Kelce.
"It's not why people get married, so they can quit their job," she said. "Oh, I know [fans] love to panic sometimes, but it's like I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music."
