21 Savage has shared his perspective on Drake's issues with Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar.
On Friday, December 12, Big Bank debuted his latest episode of Perspektives featuring the Atlanta-based rap star. During their conversation, 21 discussed where he stands on Drake's beef with Hip-Hop's biggest names, including his friend Metro Boomin and Drizzy's foe Kendrick Lamar. He told Big Bank that he tried to get Metro and Drake to resolve their beef before it exploded online.
"Metro felt a certain type of way about something," 21 said. "Drake told me and Metro that he understood where he was wrong and he apologized multiple times."
Drake's beef with Metro Boomin emerged right before his war with Kendrick Lamar. In December 2023, fans believed Metro had fired subliminal shots on social media after Drizzy issued a warning to "tweeters and deleters." Metro denied the claims at the time. A few months later, the Grammy Award-winning producer teamed up with Future and worked with Kendrick Lamar on their groundbreaking hit, "Like That," which escalated Drake's beef with K.Dot and others. Now that the dust has settled and the two artists have spoken, 21 Savage believes Drake and Metro will work together again in the future.
"I feel like Metro just felt how he felt," he continued. "Now, Metro is kind of more open-minded. I feel like Metro been through a lot. Sometimes, the s**t just don't be the right time. But I feel like in the future, the near future, we'll see them work together again."
Elsewhere in the interview, 21 Savage also shared his thoughts on Drake and Kendrick Lamar's beef. He said he spoke with Drake after "Like That" dropped and told him not to respond to Kendrick.
"I told that n***a not to do all that s**t anyway," 21 said. "I told that n***a to leave that s**t alone. He felt like he was being challenged lyrically so he wanted to respond. You know what I told Drake? I think this was after the first song.. the song with Metro and them. I said you finna go into a battle that you can't win. Like there's no way you can win."
"When you're the number one n***a, where does winning put you?" 21 continued. "You can't go number 1.1, so how could you win? This s**t rigged man, even if Drake won, he would've been the bad guy for winning."
