Laufey brought the “holiday vibes” when she took the stage at the 2025 iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball Presented By Capital One. The highly-anticipated event returned to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday night (December 12).
Laufey, who explained her name is pronounced “LAY-vay,” delivered her renditions of “Santa Baby” and “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town,” both of which appear on her festive 7-track project, A Very Laufey Holiday. The Icelandic singer-songwriter, 26, also connected with the Jingle Ball crowd with renditions of some of the songs on A Matter of Time, her third studio album that arrived earlier this year. Laufey told Z100's Danielle and Gandhi in the Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge backstage before her performance that the album is like a “diary” to her.
“It’s so rewarding,” she said when asked what it’s like to see how fans interpret her deeply vulnerable songwriting. “It’s like a diary, so it’s very honest. When you put that out into the world, it can be a little scary. But the second people respond to it saying that they feel heard or seen from it, or it makes them feel better in some way, that makes me feel better.”
Laufey also performed “Lover Girl” and “Silver Lining” from her latest album, plus “From The Start” and “Falling Behind,” which she released in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
Other artists who took the stage throughout the night include Alex Warren, BigXThaPlug, Conan Gray, Ed Sheeran, Jessie Murph, MONSTA X, Myles Smith, Nelly, Ravyn Lenae and Zara Larsson. This year’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour also included stops in Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and other major cities nationwide with star-studded lineups. To relive the holiday magic, iHeartRadio is partnering with ABC to bring the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour to even more fans across the country, as an exclusive network special will be aired on December 17th and next day on Hulu.
