The search for the suspect in the Brown University shooting has entered its fifth day, with authorities intensifying efforts to identify the perpetrator. The FBI released an enhanced image and video timeline of a person of interest, described as approximately 5'8" with a stocky build. A $50,000 reward is offered for information leading to the suspect's capture.

The shooting occurred on Saturday (December 13), leaving two students dead and nine injured at the Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island. Classes and exams have been canceled as the campus remains on high alert. The FBI and local law enforcement are sifting through hundreds of tips and taking DNA swabs in hopes of identifying the shooter.

The investigation faced initial delays due to a focus on a different person of interest, now cleared. Limited security camera footage from the Barus and Holley building, where the attack unfolded, has drawn criticism, including from President Donald Trump, who questioned the lack of surveillance cameras in a social media post.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha and Providence Police Chief Col. Oscar L. Perez Jr. are leading the investigation. The gun used in the shooting was a 9mm firearm. Authorities are relying on videos from nearby residential areas to identify the suspect, as the building's older section lacked cameras.

Brown University President Christina H. Paxson mourned the loss of students Ella Cook and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, describing them as "brilliant and beloved." A virtual interfaith community service is scheduled for today to honor the victims.

Investigators are hopeful for progress, with former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker suggesting the case may see developments soon. The public is urged to assist by providing any information that could help identify the suspect.
