A$AP Rocky Covers Rent For Harlem Tenants in His Old Building

A$AP Rocky is taking the term "season of giving" to heart. The Harlem rapper is making a significant impact by paying the rent for tenants in the very building where he grew up.
Partnering with rewards platform Bilt, Rocky's initiative will cover the rent for all tenants in January 2026, providing them with a financial reprieve during a typically costly time of year, and the generous act coincides with the release of Rocky's long-awaited album, Don’t Be Dumb. As part of his collaboration with Bilt, he designed a limited-edition vinyl celebrating Harlem and New York City, available for preorder through Bilt’s app and website.
In a statement posted to Bilt's social media, "This album means everything to me. It’s a reflection of where I come from, where I’ve been, and where I’m headed. I wanted the people who move the culture and build their lives in these cities every day to have it first. Harlem raised me. New York shaped me. So getting to share DON’T BE DUMB with a community that understands what 'home' really means just felt right. Thank you for being part of this moment, for supporting the music, and for being a part of this community."
As reported by Revolt, Bilt's founder and CEO, Ankur Jain, highlighted the partnership's significance, stating that it reflects Bilt’s mission beyond rent rewards. "Rocky embodies what we believe at Bilt: your neighborhood isn’t just where you live, it’s what fuels your creativity, your ambition, your entire trajectory," Jain said.
In addition to the rent initiative, Rocky appeared on Bilt’s special edition game show, "Rent Free," offering members nationwide a chance to win free rent payments of up to $2,500. The top 10 winners will receive signed copies of the exclusive vinyl.
This campaign marks a busy period for the 37-year-old artist, who is set to release his first studio album in over seven years on January 16. The album's release will be followed by Rocky's appearance as the first musical guest of the year on Saturday Night Live.
