President Donald Trump shared a post on his Truth Social account Friday (January 2) once again claiming he was in "perfect health" following an interview in which he acknowledged frequent bruising and a recent CT scan he underwent.
"The White House Doctors have just reported that I am in 'PERFECT HEALTH,' and that I 'ACED' (Meaning, was correct on 100% of the questions asked!), for the third straight time, my Cognitive Examination, something which no other President, or previous Vice President, was willing to take. P.S., I strongly believe that anyone running for President, or Vice President, should be mandatorily forced to take a strong, meaningful, and proven Cognitive Examination. Our great Country cannot be run by 'STUPID' or INCOMPETENT PEOPLE! President DJT," Trump wrote.
The president's post came after the Wall Street Journal shared a report Thursday (January 1) examining his health at the end of the first year of his second term in office, which was based on an interview he participated in. Trump, who will turn 80 in June, claimed that his daily aspirin regiment led to frequent dark bruises on his hands and that doctors would "rather have me take the smaller one [baby aspirin]."
"I take the larger one, but I’ve done it for years, and what it does do, is it causes bruising," Trump told the Wall Street Journal.
“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart,” he added. “I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”
Trump and his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, clarified that he underwent a CT scan, not an MRI as previously indicated, during a physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October during the interview.
“I would have been a lot better off if they didn’t [do the scan], because the fact that I took it said, ‘Oh gee, is something wrong?' Well, nothing’s wrong," Trump said.
The president also claimed that widely circulated photos of him appearing to sleep during public events was actually just "blinking."
