Happy Venezuelan New Year

Wow! It’s been a while. Good to be back in the New Year. It’s a shame the holidays are so slow news wise. As if!!!

Oh, it was crazy busy this holiday season. Christmas seemed like it was about fatal car crashes and shootings. The New Year was about Venezuela…and football. Lots and lots of football. Some of it was even good. Most of it, at least at the college level, sucked. The playoff selection process is horribly broken. Terrible teams (like Alabama) got in and were solidly trounced by the teams that did belong.

And there was plenty of news. I’ve posted the stories that got my attention while I was away. There’s no telling how many we’ll get to, but we’re going to try.

We’ll begin today with Venezuela and then close it out with change in the air for CBS News. The rest is up for grabs as we have time…
