Seminole County Teens Accused In Murder Plot
(Altamonte Springs, FL) -- Two teenagers are accused of plotting a classmate's death in Seminole County.Some details are now out on last week's arrest of two girls who attend Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs.According to the arrest report, the investigation started Thursday night when investigators got an anonymous tip about the plot. Deputies from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office visited the 15-year-old suspect's home Friday morning, and she denied knowing anything about the plot. She and her 14-year-old best friend were arrested hours later at school for premeditated attempted murder. There's no word on a motive.
Police Officer Shoots Man In Volusia County
(Orange City, FL) -- A man is hurt after he was shot by a police officer in Volusia County. Orange City Police say an officer shot a man who had a knife yesterday afternoon at Truist Bank off Enterprise Road. Acting Police Chief Jerome Miller says an officer found the man bleeding outside a restaurant, and he tried to help the man, but the man kept walking while carrying the knife. The officer tried Tasing the man, but that had no effect, and the man was entering the bank when he was shot. The man was taken to the hospital, but there's no word on his condition.Miller defended the officer, and he said the shooting may have prevented more people from being hurt.
Property Manager Accused Of Theft In Broward County
(Pembroke Pines, FL) -- A property manager is accused of stealing from his HOA in Broward County. Pembroke Pines Police say Michael Curtis forged hundreds of checks and legal documents at the Windmill Lakes Condominium Community.Between 2021 and last year, the BDM Property Management owner allegedly stole about 600-thousand dollars from the homeowners association. Curtis turned himself in recently, and he's facing charges that include grand theft.
Fuel Mix-Up Prompts State Investigation
(Nokomis, FL) --Drivers are facing costly repairs after a Circle K in Nokomis, Florida accidentally pumped diesel into a regular gasoline storage tank. Several customers say their cars sputtered, stalled, or needed to be towed shortly after filling up. Circle K says the wrong fuel was delivered by mistake, and the company shut down the pumps, cleaned the tanks, and is reimbursing affected drivers. State agriculture officials are investigating and urge anyone impacted by the mix-up to file a complaint.
