Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen revealed that he underwent surgery on a re-aggravated foot injury during newly promoted head coach Joe Brady's introductory press conference on Thursday (January 29).
Allen told reporters that he played through a broken fifth metatarsal bone in his foot after re-aggravating it during the December 21 game against the Cleveland Browns, which general manager and newly promoted team president Brandon Beane said he had cleaned up during a procedure in Birmingham on Monday (January 26) via ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg.
"Not an ideal situation, painful throughout the weeks," Allen said via the Athletic's Joe Buscaglia.
"I'm not even lying, if we had to play a game this week, I would figure it out," he added via Yahoo Sports.

The Bills defeated the Browns, 23-20, and went 1-1 during their final two regular season games before defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Wild Card Round and losing to the Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round. Allen had four turnovers during Buffalo's overtime playoff loss, which included two interceptions and two lost fumbles, as well as one recovered fumble, while throwing for 283 yards and three touchdowns on 25 of 39 passing and recording 66 yards on 12 rushing attempts.
The Bills' playoff loss was followed by the firing of former head coach Sean McDermott two days later, with Beane accepting his own responsibility for the perennial contender once again falling short of a Super Bowl berth, specifically during the prime years of Allen's career.
“We have a MVP QB who just finished his 8th season here & we’ve got to help him get to the Super Bowl," Beane said via NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. “We have to get it over the top & that starts with finding the right head coach.”
