Miranda Lambert took the stage with “Choosin’ Texas,” the history-making heartache single released by Ella Langley.

Lambert and Langley co-wrote the hit song with Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor. It was the first track to release from Dandelion, Langley’s highly-anticipated sophomore record (which Lambert also co-produced). Lambert played the song at the San Antonio Rodeo on Wednesday night (February 18).

“Just when I thought I got him to fall in love with Tennessee/ I shoulda known better than to take him back to Abilene/ I put him right back into her arms/ I wasn’t a match for that kinda spark/ She’s from Texas I can tell by the way/ He’s two steppin round the room/ And judgin by the smile that’s written on his face/ There’s nothin I can to do/ It doesn’t take a crystal ball to see/ A cowboy always finds a way to leave/ Drinkin Jack all by myself/ He’s choosin’ Texas I can tell”

“Choosin’ Texas” appears on Langley’s upcoming 18-track record, along with “Dandelion” and “Be Her.” The album is due to arrive on April 10. Shortly after that, Langley will kick off hear headlining “Dandelion Tour” with special guests Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose and Laci Kaye Booth on select dates.

Langley is among the country artists nominated at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, returning this spring to Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. See the list of country artists nominated here.
