LE SSERAFIM Samples ‘90s Mega Hit In New Song ‘BOOMPALA’

LE SSERAFIM are back with their first album in three years.
On Friday (May 22), the group — consisting of Sakura, Hong Eunchae, Kazuha, Huh Yunjin and Kim Chaewon — released their second studio album PUREFLOW, pt. 1, a project exploring fear in different stages, from uncertainty to awareness, and "forming a connected emotional progression rather than isolated moments," according to a press release. The record follows their 2023 debut studio album UNFORGIVEN and subsequent EASY CRAZY HOT world tour.
Among the new songs on the album is "BOOMPALA," a track "built on a Latin house foundation" that samples the 1993 mega hit "Macarena." The music video, a vibrant and chaotic visual that matches the driving beat of the song, even puts a twist on the iconic choreography that led to a global dance phenomenon.
LE SSERAFIM are also taking their new album on a world tour, traveling to 23 cities across North America, Asia and Europe, which also marks the group's first-ever European tour. Here are the North American dates announced for the PUREFLOW world tour:

- September 23: San Jose, CA
- September 25: Phoenix, AZ
- September 27: Fort Worth, TX
- September 30: Orlando, FL
- October 2: Chicago, IL
- October 5: Washington, D.C.
- October 8: Newark, NJ
