U.S. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has vowed to prosecute those involved in violent protests at Delaney Hall, an immigration detention center in Newark, New Jersey. As reported by Yahoo News, the protests have been ongoing since Monday (May 25), with demonstrators clashing with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. The protests were sparked by the transfer of detainee Martin Soto, who had initiated a hunger strike.

Blanche described the actions of the protesters as "sick" and illegal, pointing out that they included chants threatening ICE officers and their families. He emphasized that attacking and threatening federal officers is a crime. Blanche criticized local law enforcement for not assisting ICE in managing the protests. The situation remains tense as protesters continue to demand the release of detainees and improved conditions within the facility.
