Special Prosecutor Recommends Kissimmee Mayor Be Impeached

(Kissimmee, FL) --The heat is turning up on Kissimmee's mayor. A special prosecutor issued a report yesterday that recommends Mayor Jackie Espinosa face articles of impeachment. The report finds she and some family members personally benefited last year from a COVID relief program she started. Three businesses Espinosa and her family owned got almost 50-thousand dollars from the city's small business grant program. The special prosecutor also recommends Espinosa repay the money and that law enforcement should look into the mayor's actions.The city commission will discuss the recommendations and decide what to do next.

Orlando Police Issue Warning To Those Who Take Part In Street Takeovers

(Orlando, FL) --Orlando Police have a warning for those who want to take part in street takeovers. The OPD released video on Facebook yesterday of an e-bike takeover Saturday near East Colonial Drive and North Fern Creek Ave. Dozens of people can be seen riding their e-bikes against traffic lights, blocking traffic and an ambulance. Police say this puts everyone at risk, including the riders themselves, and this type of dangerous behavior will not be tolerated.

Tesla Robotaxi Goes Wrong Way On Tampa Street

(Tampa, FL) --Tesla may still have some kinks to work out with its driverless cars. The company's Robotaxis made their debut Tuesday in Tampa, and one of them was seen going the wrong way on North Armenia Ave on Wednesday. No one was hurt, but it was really scary for at least one witness. Jon Francisco tells 8 On Your Side it looked like the Robotaxi didn't know what it was doing.

Villager Arrested After Tinder Date Gone Bad

(The Villages, FL) -- A Sumter County man is facing charges after his online date didn't go as planned. The Villages' David O'Brien was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly rammed his date's car twice and pulled a gun on one of her friends. The sheriff's office says O'Brien met the woman on Tinder, where he said he was looking for a sugar baby. After meeting, O'Brien gave the woman 800 dollars, but, when they went to his place, she changed her mind, got some friends to pick her up and left with the money. Deputies say O'Brien followed her in his pickup truck, rammed the car into a pole, rammed it again, pulled a gun on a man in the car and threatened to kill him, but the man got away. O'Brien is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.

Family Reports Disturbing Incident In Broward County

(Pompano Beach, FL) -- The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident one man says left him shocked. Karl Messner says it happened Saturday in Pompano Beach at Sample Road and Federal Highway. He was driving with his wife and 6-year-old daughter in the car, and when they came to a red light, another driver offered him money for the girl. Karl's wife, Bethany, started recording as the man's questions got more explicit. When the light finally changed, the Messner's drove on before pulling over and calling police. The video has been handed over as evidence, but no arrest has been announced. Bethany tells 7News she never heard someone talk about children like that, and she was completely disgusted.
