Thursday- Ups, Downs & the Task at Hand
September 10, 2026
It’s official.Football season is in full swing. The NFL season began last night with Seattle beating the Patriots 13-10 in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl with the same result, but a lot less scoring. I started my evening with my grandson’s Freshman game. It was not a good night…and there are lessons in that. There may also be some lessons for the University of Georgia given the trick they are playing on their fans.
I would hope that those lessons translate into politics, but do they? We’re being told this is the most important election ever. That’s said all the time, but are the players in the political game learning lessons as they play? We have to wonder.
Senator John Fetterman is.He spoke at the Republican’s midterm convention last night. He was already under fire from PA Democrats, yet he stood up for what he believes is right.
We have dueling ideas on childcare assistance for working families. It’s funny to me seeing Republicans arguing in favor of government handouts.
Finally, someone is stepping up for Florida homeowners on Amendment 3. It’s the realtors. OK, it’s self-serving, but it’s a hand on Amendment 3 we didn’t know was coming.
Let’s see where a Thursday takes us!
