Kendall Jenner graced one of the covers celebrating Love Magazine's 10th anniversary issue for autumn/winter 2018. While Kendall's BFF, fellow model Gigi Hadid, made headlines for appearing in a demonic bunny mask for her Love Magazine cover, Kendall's cover is drawing attention for quite a different reason. The 22-year-old model confidently freed the nipple and posed topless in her shoot for the 10th anniversary issue.
It always causes quite a stir online when women decide to pose topless. Many social media platforms continue to ban photos that show women's nipples, which many believe is a sexist policy. It doesn't appear that Kendall or Katie Grand, the British stylist and fashion journalist who posted the photo on Instagram (which you can see here), appear to be bothered by Instagram's policy banning photos of women's nipples.
Kendall opened up to the magazine in her accompanying interview. She spoke about why she's been absent from recent fashion week runways, as well as the frustrating side of being a member of her ultra-famous family. "Last season I didn’t do any shows," Kendall explained. "Just 'cause I was working in LA and I was like 'Oof, I can’t right now—I’m gonna go crazy.' I was on the verge of a mental breakdown."
When it comes to the darker side of fame, she said: "I feel very, very blessed and I think that I live a very extraordinary life. I wouldn't change it for the world but there are days where I wish I could walk outside and nothing would be like it is right now."
Kendall has been open about her struggle with anxiety and panic attacks. It must be difficult to balance her fame, busy work schedule, and anxiety all at the same. It's great that she's so open about these difficulties, though. It definitely helps to normalize anxiety and panic disorders in public discourse.
