Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the best of two pros and a couple of
Joe with Radio Quinn and Jonas knocks on Fox Sports Radio.
Hold on, man, what you're doing? This is back? What
you're doing? Nah? What you're doing right here? Matt see
Berto's trying to pick on me. That's all that. I
(00:23):
don't put those in there. What's the problem. This one's
supposed to be gone? Hey, I replaced it with back.
I'm not even gonna sing it. Why not because it's
supposed to be gone. Well, it'll be gone now. You
got one last chance to sing it? No, make it count?
Come on, no, wait, no, no, why that's it. It'll
(00:50):
never happen again. That's gone. Okay, it is all gone
no more. I what's at Maroon five? Yeah, you guys
have shaved me out of Maroon five? Who cares? There's
been worse stuff and I got news Toway. I gotta
feel and worse stuff is gonna be played later on
this show, just because it is getaway day for the
Margarita Ville trip for Lead to Lap. Oh no, by
(01:13):
the way, I got a dud. There's another there's another
layer to the Lead to Lap trip to Margaritaville to
see Jimmy Buffett in concert this weekend. That right, What
do you guys think you've heard everything about the details
between him and Todd. There's another element that pops in lee.
(01:35):
Would you please tell them how you and Todd are
saving money as you head to Vegas later on this
evening for the Jimmy Buffett concert. Well, of course we
are taking Spirit Airlines, which means a carry on costs
sixty five dollars just to start. Wow, So me and
Todd are gonna be sharing a carry on. Consolidate, consolidate,
(01:57):
but we do get I'll take my backpack, and then
he's gonna take his Margarita Ville cooler that I gifted
him for Christmas, use that as his carry on, and
then we're gonna split a bag six five bucks. What's
what's the cooler? Probably pack some uh, you know, just
pack some bare essentials in there at first, and then
once we get once we get there later this evening,
(02:19):
that turns into that cooler. So your luggage, So your
luggage is your cooler. Now that is being efficient, Yes,
it is. That's one way describing it. Some people would
call you complete degenerous. Oh man, my girlfriend, Yes, at
this point. I mean, I'll be honest with you. I
(02:41):
never understood because you're such an easy going guy. Why
she gets mad at you all the time. The whole
revelation of Todd has really changed. Oh yeah, Todd's is heroin.
You know, if if he'd just kicked Heroin, if he
could just kick Heroin, he'd be the best guy in
the world. Todd's his heroin. He can't kicked Todd's. Therefore,
(03:01):
it's it's actually fairly accurate into the relationship to analogy.
Hey man, I love Todd. I can't wait to meet him.
It's gonna be tremendous. Already met Lee. It's like a
same person. But what if they're not? What if what
if he does have different characteristic traits like face off? Yeah,
(03:24):
like what if he's just a different person, like Nicky Cage.
Like Nicky Cage, he's got a new room, he's got
a new movie out. It's a Western. Think what wasn't
there a face off? Too? Was there? Did I miss it? No?
Some things are just so bad? Why do it again?
WHOA watch your mouth? I'm I'm just watch your mouth
when you're talking about Nikki Cage. Okay, he's got a
(03:46):
new Western. Is he still a bad actor? Or is that?
And does he kick that face? Unbelievable? It's just I mean,
when you as you're willing to go to try to
take a shot of me this I mean with do
you like Nick Cage? I mean I think like some
underrated term for him. Wow, you love him? But your guy?
I don't know that I love him either. I don't know.
(04:07):
That's all described? Well, God day, where is it? Where
are you on it? Where's this guy? I think I'm
infatuated with like his his acting style. Okay, okay, yeah,
that's how you would act. No God, no, of course not.
You wouldn't act like him, but you're infatuated with his style.
The movie with him and Pedro Pascalt that was a
good one. Unforgivable talent or what is unbearable weight of talent?
(04:34):
Is Pedro Pascal the guy who got it? It's where
he plays himself, right yeah, yeah, which was like kind
of interesting to watch. It was Pedro Pascal is the
guy who got his face crushed in Game of Thrones, right,
spoiler alert? Right, I just want to be clear here.
He also had to mother. Oh yeah, interesting scenes and
that he was the one he had to do beat. Yeah,
(04:56):
him beat and then Dude the Star smatch and then Giant. Right, yeah,
it's a mountain. He crushed mountain. Um. So yeah, we
are going to have all sorts of fun stuff with
lead to lap As. We send him off appropriately to
the Jimmy Buppet concert in Las Vegas this weekend. He's
the biggest Jimmy Bud the Jonas Knox Show on the weekend.
(05:19):
Why you guys not connected at the hip on the
weekend because he's old drinking. I mean, he's got a life.
I'm with Todd on on the weekend. Come on, wow,
good point. Yeah, he's got he should get on five
days a week Jonas, Yeah, I mean six would be nice.
But Todd and I understand there's there's this Odd has
to have his one day by himself. Yeah, okay, which
(05:41):
is fair. So I think that's that's all good for
everybody involved. That would all makes sense. By the way,
this is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. Savar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
in the year, lead to lap is here, Burdo's here,
Kevin Wire, No, Todd unfortunate Todd has come on strong,
like we hadn't heard Todd's name and ever like never
(06:01):
ever meaning we've never heard his name, and then one
day we see Todd standing behind the car, you know,
taking taking his time, and now Todd is like the
guy who knew a year nation situation and a parking
lot on a Wednesday afternoon or a result, and Todd
becoming a national hero who knew? I mean, we need
(06:22):
to create a shirt for certain you guys are given
Todd too much credits. To me, it's more about Lee.
Lee's the one that made Todd famous, correct, because Lee's
the one that was like, hey, who's that? That's Todd Todd.
That needs to be the shirt. Yeah, it needs to
be a shirt with like an outlining of Todd in
a car and him standing there with his cell phone. Like,
(06:43):
I agree, it's Todd. Like that's a shirt. It's Todd,
and I will wear that shirt. I would wear. I
will wear a shirt with a pair ofmid and my
nikes that were the same color as my nikes with
a shirt that's it it's Todd. Yeah with that Yeah
that pitch, I might even get crocs. I mean, if
we're going that far, that we're doing Todd T shirtbody
(07:04):
get crocs, But I mean you definitely could put put
them on crocs or anything else. A letterman jacket, like
you could make it like a Letterman deal, like you
put it on there boom, it's todt. Yeah, yam, you're
part of the team. Yeah, no, it would. I think
that's big business. So when we open up, we open
(07:24):
up our T shirt shop, we can then could you
imagine manage if he created a Margaritaville following that it's
the It's taught Margaritaville crew. Yeah, I could see it happening. Yeah,
there you go a lot of vertical integration out there.
There you go. You like that make a lot of sense.
By the way, we are doing this show live from
the tire irac dot Com studios. Ti irac dot com
(07:45):
will help you get there and unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Ti irac dot com the way tire buying should be. Also,
by the way, it's not just getaway day for lead
to Lap and Todd as they had to alt Vegas
to do the Jimmy Buffett fiasco that's going to happen
this weekend. Did I mention to you guys, it's also
(08:07):
a football for Friday, Yeah, Friday cooler Yeah yeah, Clan spirit. Yeah,
it is a football Friday here on FSR. And so
(08:30):
we must start with, of course football, and we must
start with the big news that is the Draft Combine,
the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, for as long as it's
going to be there, Who the hell knows. Maybe they've
got two years left, maybe they're going to move on.
But Jalen Carter was a subject of the conversation yesterday
obviously with the tragedy that took place back in January
(08:50):
and Athens, Georgia and his involvement. He posted bond on
Wednesday night and then he decided he was going back
to the combine to finish interviews, measurements, etc. In Indianapolis.
A league source also says he will not decline to
answer questions about the crash on advice from his council.
(09:11):
So Jalen Carter will, Yeah, he will not defline. So
he's going to talk with whatever teams and give out
any more details that he needs to give out to.
You know, if teams were unaware of this situation and
his involvement in the crash and what was going to
go down over the past twenty four to forty eight hours.
He's going to talk with those teams. He was there
supporting teammates who were obviously participating in the drills yesterday.
(09:35):
So Jalen Carter goes back to the combine in Indianapolis,
which I think some people were a little surprised by.
I thought that was going to be the end of
him in Indi But he went back there to try
and I guess, clear his name to a certain extent,
to try and show teams maybe let's wait, because there's
more that could come out from this. I mean, isn't
that what it shows? Yeah? Yep. And I mean I
(09:58):
look at it and I say, if he he's getting
advice from his counsel that says no, no no, no answer
all the questions, that to me feels like it's going
to blow over. It's a terrible situation. But that I
don't really think this is going to affect his draft stock,
like a lot of people have been saying. I thought
that it well, I would agree. Yeah, I think that's
a simple conclusion. The fact that he returned and the
(10:21):
fact that he is cleared to answer all questions makes
me believe that that's that's the conclusion is that is
as horrific as the incident, is that he has the
capabilities of explaining his side of it in a way
that isn't a you know, isn't going to take away
from him and or for what it's worth, you admit
(10:46):
the mistake that or you know, admit the role that
you played in it, and you take take ownership and
accountability over that and you move on. It seems to
make sense to me. Yeah, and then as far as
just an overall prospect, Breddy, you were talking about this
because I think you and I were having a discussion
off air about Okay, difference between Will Anderson and Jalen Carter.
(11:10):
And Jalen Carter, from everything that I've seen and You've
talked about in covering college football, seems to be the
guy with the most upside as far as development to
the next level in the NFL. Correct, Like, as far
as I wouldn't, I wouldn't phrase it that way. I
would say, if the way I'd look at Jalen Carters,
(11:32):
he's just he's the best overall prospect in the sense
of the impact he's had during his time at Georgia
what you see on te tape. I mean, there's no
flaws in his game. There's nothing you're concerned about in
his measureles. Had he tested, he would have tested extremely well,
even though you know he wasn't planning on participating at
the combine. You know, Jalen Carter and Bryce Young going
(11:54):
into it were two guys who talked about not doing that,
so that was never part of the equation. He obviously
will a pro day, but he's a guy who's gonna
test extremely well too for his size. As we're now
starting to see some of the testing and some of
the numbers come back from some of the guys. That
is a similar position, but I would just phrase the
(12:14):
more that way, Like as far as what you know
these guys are gonna be in the future, you know,
there's this whole like nature versus nurture. I guess argument
you'd make right, Like, you have this player who's born
into the NFL and he's coming with obviously certain trade
skill sets and ability. All these young men, all of them,
(12:34):
everyone who's drafted, has the capability of playing in the NFL.
Otherwise they wouldn't be drafted, they wouldn't get to this point,
they wouldn't be the one percent that moves on from college.
All right, what is largely going to dictate their success
moving forward is a situation circumstance they enter into for
ninety nine percent of them. Now there's one percent of
(12:55):
this one percent that's going to make it that is
just so extremely talented and good enough they can make
it wherever they go. Jalen Carter is one of those
types of players where he's talented enough and good enough
where wherever they put him, whatever scheme, he's probably gonna
be an impactful player, and he's probably gonna be a
guy who starts and makes a bunch of Pro Bowls.
(13:16):
He at least so far as that sort of projection
to him, he'll be the first non quarterback drafted correct
if he had to money on so but the legal situation,
you know, still bears you know, some some um you
know figuring out. Be sure to catch live editions of
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
(13:38):
LeVar Errington, and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern
three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and The iHeartRadio app.
So I don't know if you guys were aware of
this or not. Mike McCarthy's now call him plays in Dallas.
Yeah I heard that. Yeah, he's call him plays. And
in fact, Mike McCarthy spoke had some big words, spoke
(13:59):
about how excited he is to be back calling plays
for America's team, the Dallas Cowboys. This is most fun
I've had since I've been in Dallas. I mean, just
to be in the meeting room again with the coaches
full time. You know, we've been getting you know, just
to go you know, eight to eleven, thirty and break
and it's you've been talking nothing but you know, skiing.
(14:19):
You know, I haven't had that, so, um so that
death parts different. But then, uh, you know, you have,
you know, these great, great responsibilities here that you have
to keep doing and um so, just you got to
you got to delegate more. I mean, we have a
good plan. I think doing this in year four is
totally different than you know, what I've been doing in
year one, especially coming in with the pandemic and everything
(14:41):
that we had to year one. So Mike McCarthy also
went on to say, courtesy of the Dallas Morning News,
the difference between him and Kellen Moore the previous offensive
coordinator quote, Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up, but
I want him to run the damn ball. So I
can rest my defense. I think when you're a coordinator,
you know, but you're in charge of the offense, being
a head coach and being a play caller, you're a
(15:03):
little more in tune with everything. So there's your there's
your mic. Was a shot and that confirmed that it
was a shot? Tell the bar. I mean, he took
a shot, a couple of shots. What do you do?
It took shots? Bamn bang bang, Like that's that's he
took shots. What was the cannon sounds? I mean, that's
(15:28):
exactly what it was. And again it brings me back
to the original point that I made when we spoke
about Mike McCarthy the last time. UM, in terms of
him taking over to play calling duties, he's setting the
stage either for him to have to deal with no
(15:50):
more runway in terms of the amount of success that
that this team has, or Dak Prescott is set up
to be the fall guy. It's either way. Either you
have success and and everything that you said plays out
the way that you you wanted it to play out,
where you're making the play calling, the team drastically improves
(16:14):
and you see those results or you don't. And if
you don't, it's most likely going to be because of
a lack of production from your offense. And if it's
a lack of production from your offense, then where is
the blame going to go? That's that's that would be
my biggest question. It goes on Mike first, I think,
(16:35):
I think you're right, Mike's the next fall guy, and
then it's Dak because if you look at that Dak's contract,
they can't get out from underneath it. They really can.
For the next two years, his dead cap hit if
they try to release him, would be eighty nine million
this year. That's it, and by the way, next year
in twenty twenty four, so we're talking two years from now,
(16:57):
it's thirty nine point nine million. And now I guess
you could do a post June one designation. You cut
that number in half and spread over two years to
make it twenty million each one of those years from
your cap. But that's still pretty significant for a guy
who hasn't been there for two years, right, So it's
a big year for Dak. I even think if they're
(17:18):
looking at like extending him out because he's got some
dumby years left on the back end of his deal.
But I think Mike's the first one to potentially go
and these parting words for whatever reason, Like I think
he speaks some truth. I mean, look at when you're
a head coach, you have just better perspective. You're seeing
the entire thing and how everything relates. You know. So
(17:38):
if you have an aggressive defensive coordinator likes to blitz
a lot, okay, that might create a bunch of negative plays,
and it might you know, create a bunch of three
and outs, but there also might give up two or
three big plays that turned into touchdowns. And so if
you've been an offense that can't compete with that, you know,
you might say, we'd rather, you know, play a little
more Ben buttel Brank, do give up any big plays
(18:00):
forcing the kick field goals, and then maybe we can
eke one out, right, Like there's just a there's a
there's a way of going about having game flow. And
I think what he's speaking to is the fact that
Kellen Moore is more concerned about becoming a head coach
one day and showing his offensive prowess by putting up
a bunch of points and numbers, and that's what he's
more focused on. So you know, both things can be true.
(18:24):
I just I feel like when your offense is able
to score points, you know, you should be able to
win a lot of football games, or you should be
able to score more. It kind of feels like an
excuse sometimes to put it on Kellen Moore, who you know,
had this offense always when they had a healthy quarterback
in a good position. You know, they were a top
ten offense or in that his entirety of his time.
(18:45):
There's a play caller when Dak was healthy. So um,
it feels like he's kind of pointing the blame here,
know one to point to now, because what's the point
of taking a shot at a guy after he left
unless you're feeling the eat and you wanted to be
known everything that was an issue before that wasn't on
me because now here's the difference. Why I like it
(19:07):
this way and he was doing it that way, And
how much fun I'm having now that I finally get
control of everything. It was painful watching Kellen do it,
and now I'm having the most fun that I've had
since being here. You threw him under the bus, And
while I agree with Q that, to me, the hammer
drops on Mike McCarthy's now next. I still think he's
(19:29):
positioning Dak Prescott to be the fall guy if it
doesn't go that way, whether it ends up being Mike
McCarthy or not. He Mike McCarthy is clearly someone that
has no problem throwing a guy under the bus. That's
why he just showed us. It's weird man. So he's
got to keep himself in position. Is he keeping himself
(19:51):
in position to keep his job or is he putting
himself in position to win a Super Bowl? To me,
he'd probably say both, right. I mean, I would want
it to be both. But I in my mind, I
think he's making sure he protects his job first, because
I don't know that this. I mean, can he look
at his team and say, you know what, this is
(20:14):
a super Bowl caliber team? I mean maybe he does.
He probably does, but I don't know how realistic that is.
I mean, if Rogers leaves, the NFC's pretty, it's a
pretty week. Yeah, it's open. There's an opportunity. It was
open this year. Yeah year. I mean, Philly had such
a great year that I think it was tough for
for Dallas to try and you know, take over that division,
(20:36):
even though that had an opportunity late in the season.
And obviously Dax Prescott. Prescott's injury played into early on
what the issues there, But Cooper Rush came in, they
won a bunch of games. They the defense has played well.
Micah Parsons one of the best players in the league period.
I just it's it's funny to me that he's taking
this aggressive of an approach. And I kind of put
(20:58):
some of the blame, if not majority of the blame
on Jerry Jones, because when Jerry Jones is out there
ball washing his coordinators and talking about how they should
be head coaches, and you've got all the Sean Payton rumors,
the fact that Mike McCarthy has to even look over
his shoulder knowing he's only got one left to get
rid of. Oh well, yeah, to secure his job. But
now that Sean Payton has taken a job elsewhere, dan
(21:19):
Quinn's gotta be the guy, like he's got to be
the heir apparent. And Mike McCarthy about how they kept him,
right I think about it, he had the opportunity to leave.
He's like, nah, multiple years in a row. No, I
think I'll stay. That was kind of yeah, No, I'm
enjoying myself and I think I'll stay what they say
to me. Because he was happy as hell to maintain
(21:41):
being a decordinator in Dallas. It's which intead of going
somewhere else now I think, yep, I'm yeah, I'm gonna
take my Chads's here. And he could have had a
job last offseason and this offseason. That's but the way
he came back, like yeah, no, I'll need to take
any more interviews. It's like we're good here. I just
(22:02):
what did Jerry Jones say to hell? What? What? What?
What type of what type of briecase? Do they still
do briefcase? Maybe he did his Apple pey I don't know.
Now it's old school. It's still with breecase combination on it.
Hey man, I watch a lot of I watch a
lot of TV. Man, don't briefcases be for real? Bro?
(22:22):
That mean hell, I've seen the briecases in person. I
mean hell, I've received briefcases before. Cash cash, hold me
how much cash? Cash Well that one. It was like
a bit when did you get that me? A while ago?
(22:43):
I'm planning on doing that one time in my life.
There's there's some really ignorant s that I'm gonna do
if I'm like to me, and making it in business
and doing it for you is different than making it
in and playing like. I want to be successful as
a businessman. And one of the wildest things I want
(23:03):
to do is one, I want to do a deal
with a briefcase like a leather one. Yes, yeah, like
with the nice slatches on, you know, like the safety
that up it's got the locks on on the on
the straps, like. I want to do a deal with
a briefcase. Two and I and I want to plank
on like ten million dollars. I want to plank. I
(23:27):
want to plank on it, like I want to bring
the plank back just for one night and plank on
it in Vegas. That's weird. I know. I told you
I was with you, bro, Bro, I listen, I told
you some of it is weird stuff, bro, But that's
what the base. And naked. I want to be naked too.
Now what color briefcase? I've got some price in brief
(23:48):
like a brown one, like a like in my mind,
I like, yeah, I mean I'm seeing one for about
one hundred and seventy nine. Yeah, that's kind of that's
not it though, where you're finding No, there's nothing one
hundred seventy Yeah, yeah, that's it. That's it right there.
That's it my dad. I was just to like keep
(24:09):
it for that moment. It's so great. I mean, even
if I only have like one folder, I just want
to take it to a meeting, pop it up and
be like, okay, here sign this. Yeah yeah, I think. God,
I think I still have my dad's. Those are the
best ones. And if they're distressed and beat up, I
mean that's the best. That's the best one. I think
(24:29):
I still have that. I think I'm gonna get me
a briefcase. I don't know the combination though, And this
is a double common people still use briefcases. They should not.
Really everybody's like a backpack person these days, or like
right backpack satchel. I don't think we have I have
like a what would that's like it's like it's satchell?
(24:52):
Is it a satchel? I don't know. That's not surprising
for Jonas. Yeah, it's but by the way, these new
modern brief briefcases have like something for your your cell phone,
hypocket for yourself like it. I don't like any of that,
So I like the old school, old school open it
up and it's like on pulp fiction where the gold
bar just just so sophisticated. I'd like to think that
(25:12):
you can't be lazy, like you got to carry that
bad boy yep, you know. I mean it doesn't have
the like the the strap on it. Some of them
have straps, right, but it doesn't have like literally the
sophisticated ones, the old school style gentleman type. There's no
straps on that. You got to carry it. So you're
carrying that thing in your hand. You're walking in the
(25:33):
in the elements with your heart bottoms on. Yep, you
got your suit on, Like for me, I don't. I
don't even want to have to have a suit suit on.
I'm gonna have on some like designer jeans. I might
even have on some some some ones. I might have
on some j ones. And I'm gonna have my my
my my collar shirt tucked in because I'm losing my
(25:54):
belly queue like I am losing my belly. Man, I'm
preparing for these moments. I'm going to be able to
for the briefcase moment. I'm gonna be able to tuck
my shirt in, and I'm gonna wear a nice a
nice dress jacket, maybe even my Hall of Fame jacket.
And I'm going to do the deal. Yeah, and I'm
going to do it with cash, homie, and it's gotta
(26:15):
be brown, can't be black. I'm gonna pop that bad
boy right on. I'nna put it on the table. I'm
pop it up and then it just flips right open.
Do we have a deal, sir? Yeah, I gotta get one.
It might be for you, It might it might be
for you and Jonas to buy the way well, I mean,
you know, Brady and I operate. Brady told me that
he might get you in the back room and up
(26:37):
a room because he wants two briefcases so he could
do shoulder shrugs, maybe some lunges while he's got I
can't be off balance. Yeah, so I've got to have two.
I mean, maybe our show is good enough where we
go into the next meeting room in the boardroom and
the briefcases are put in front of us. How about
the lamb it on the Put that bad boy at
(26:57):
three on the death just like this, Just put three
on the desk, bawn and walk out, shake, shake the hands.
Then it opens up and move on our move on
our way. Yeah, that's how I want the next deal done.
It's fun, man, or the deal or the deal class right,
just class personified. Look at all this. Yeah, yeah, this
is good stuff. Man telling you. It is two pros
(27:19):
and a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio.
Until we got to plank you. Yeah, why would you?
I can understand snow angels and ten million dollars white
planking naked in my room. I don't know. It was
just a weird, little little I've seen it one time
and I was like, I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna
plank on them. But it's just somebody plank naked on cash.
(27:41):
And they weren't naked, but they were planking. I put
in naked because once I lose all this weight and
I'm like feeling good about myself, I'm just gonna bear
it all on my ten million. Yeah that I net it.
You look good. Unfortunately, you should check your boy, man,
check your boy man. This whole thing is it's getting
it's getting there, it's together. It's coming together, man, although
(28:04):
it's going to ruin a portion of this show that's
almost panicked. I almost panicked and took my hoodie off
in the gym yesterday. I almost did it, and then
I was like hell no. I looked around, I saw
two three people. I was like hell to the no,
I'm still not there. I want to keep my hoodie on. Yeah,
but you're killing the myth of you being overweight though,
(28:25):
so that's gonna be show. I'm not overweight now. You
never were. I'm not now. I definitely was okay, my
belly was on my To Jonas's point though, which is
the greater point. You are killing a portion of content
on our show. You gotta keep it going. I don't know.
We may have to bring in someone who does fit
that category though, just talk about it. Yeah. I don't
(28:47):
want to go back either. I'm sorry. I want to
be a I want to be a testament and I
want to be a support to all of us out
here that I have had this affliction and have had
to fight through it. I wanted to let you know
you can do it like I have been consistent for
a month now, it's been a month. Yeah, yeah, I've
been consistent for a month. No, like I literally only
(29:10):
have a drink on the weekend, which I did have
one yesterday. I did have a long island but I
walked six miles to get it. True, I walked six
miles Burto does when he goes to the Raiders bar.
And then I had to call one of the kids
to come get me because I was like, what the
hell you Fried, I'm I'm using my ankle right now.
(29:31):
I'm icing my ankle right now. I had I didn't
realize that how bad six miles felt if you haven't
done it before, yeah, for a long time. Well there
you go, look great, Thank you. It is Two Pros

give me a hell yeah, I hate that que song
is the best, even with the new ones. Like that
sequence is pretty strong. You don't have to hate mine's
the best. What are you doing right now? What are
(30:58):
you doing? Throw? Say what you're doing? You're not gonna
hit the button on him, but you're not going hit
the button on the piano. Nah, you was throwing up.
You was twisting your fingers, twisting my fingers. Me, what
do you get verse? It was throwing your hooks up.
Ain't nobody from Q nation came to get you. Now
(31:20):
you're throwing them fingers up and twisting them. I own
no playing piano. I don't know. He was doing the
toa oh oh no, come on cold blood, Hey, come on,
that is cold. Man stuffered the head injury, like that's cold.
But too soon, too soon, it's too soon. Good you
said he was throwing up the deuces, hey, by the
(31:41):
way he was. Are they gonna pick up two of
his fifth year option or no? Is that We're just
gonna let this play out like Daniel Jones? Or are
we gonna they gonna pick up his fifth year option?
Like when does that have to get done down in
South Florida? If they're gonna play fins up, fins to
the left, fins up and down, whatever it's called. It's
too a tuck about lower going to be the quarterback
of the future. It feels like how much of the future.
(32:04):
I mean, at least this year? Yeah, at least this year? Yeah.
I look, he played well, he performed at a high level.
It's just the concussions, which is a big problem. And
it feels like Miami's trying to navigate around all that.
But I don't know, man, I hope it works out
for him, but I would assume they'd want to pick
(32:26):
up the fifth year option, which is like what twenty
three twenty four million dollars or something like that. They
pick that up. Here's the hard part, and this is
why I don't know that they will. He's played three years, right,
so he's a first round pick. They get four year
deals with that fifth year option. The fifth year option
now has changed were to where when you pick up
the option, it's fully guaranteed. So it used to be
(32:50):
that when you picked up the option, it was for
injury only until you got into that season and then
the mechanism would kick in when he would start playing,
then it would be guaranteed, but you could technically get
out of it if after year four you wanted to.
That's not the case anymore. So once they pick up
the fifth year option, they're at least committed now to
(33:11):
adding on an additional year to his deal for that
twenty three million guaranteed. So that's the difficult decision that
the Dolphins have to make. I wouldn't be surprised if
they didn't do something similar to what the Giants did,
where they let things play out. They'd see if he
can stay healthy, see if you can have another very
good productive year, and if he does, look they'll be
(33:33):
more than happy to use at a minimum, the non
exclusive franchise tag, which this year is going to pay
out what thirty some million or the exclusive franchise tag,
and then let him prove it for another year then
and you'll pay him that that big chunk of money
for a one year guaranteed deal. I just think more
teams are going to go this route instead of tying
themselves to a quarterback for the long term and then
(33:56):
trying to get out from underneath it. I think that's
probably the better play. Ooh, gotta do something, man, gotta
do some of your Miami Dolphins. You've been You've been
chasing Dan Marino's ghost for long enough. Two of them
might be the guy. Just got to keep them healthy
and upright and they play well when he was healthy. Yeah,
they're awesome. Everything derail when he went down. Yep, that's
(34:18):
a hard one. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe. Here. By the way, Fox Sports Radio lebar Arrington,

going on today. If you've not been listening and you
were just making us a part of your Friday morn
there's a couple of things happening. Number One, Lee de
(35:03):
lap is going to a Jimmy Buffett concert in Las
Vegas this weekend. He has an uncomfortable fondness of Jimmy
Buffett and he's going to this comfort concert. Yeah, and Todd,
his buddy Todd, are going to the concert. Uncomfortable obsession
with Todd. Yes, yeah, that's true. With Jimmy Buffett, all
(35:23):
that is fair. So that is so We have been
playing Jimmy Buffett music throughout the course of the show.
It's probably gonna be our lowest rated show in the
history of this show. But there's also one other thing
that's happening here. What's that? It's a football Friday? All right? Yes,
come on, Jimmy Buffet, come on? What hold on? Wha?
(35:53):
What's us? Tell us all about? What? Whoa dare you?
That got awkward? It is to a football Friday. Here on,
two bros and a cup of Joe. And of course
we're talking football here. Of course we're gonna have some
football conversation. Here's one the hell's going to happen with
(36:16):
Derek Carr? All right? What is what is the plan
with Derek Carr? We were talking last hour about the
Jets situation. You've got Robert Salis saying Mike White deserves
to be here. They obviously want to keep Zach Wilson.
One of the things that I had seen that was
reported on is that the reason why there may be
some hesitation from the Derek Carr side of things is
(36:39):
that he wants to know what the plan is for
Zach Wilson, like whether or not, I mean, is he
going to stick around. Is that the plan of the
future because Derek Carr is looking to sign a longer
term deal. So if you're Derek carrn you're looking around
the NFL and you're seeing what's available and what options
are on the table, which one makes the most sense?
Because for me, I would look at the NFC South
(37:01):
and say, if I go there on the best quarterback
in the division by a mile, and that to me
feels like the easiest path as opposed to the New
York Jets, who a lot of people are tying Aaron
Rodgers too. At this point in time. That's how I
look at it, But I could be dead wrong, and
I usually am. I mean, at this point, I think
teams are gonna wait to see what Rodgers wants to do,
(37:22):
since that decision is coming soon enough, and then they'll
work accordingly. I would think any team that's in the
running or race for Aaron Rodgers wants to make sure
they give themselves every opportunity before they would pivot to
Derek Carr. But you know, look, maybe there's some teams
that don't want to be in Aaron Rodgers race. You know,
they feel like he might have a year or two
(37:42):
three years left, and even as good as he could be,
given that he's a four time MVP, They're like, we'd
rather have something more long term, and that's maybe where
Derek Carr fills that gap. So I'll be curious, but
I'm with you. I think the NFC South is devoid
of quarterbacks the least that have played to his level,
you know, at this point looking at things moving forward,
(38:04):
and so there, you know, he might have his pick
of an NFC South teams in which one he could
help potentially go win and go into the playoffs and
make a little bit of a run. And I think,
if you're Derek Carr, getting out of the AFC might
be the best thing that ever happens to your career.
I mean, look, if if Rogers is, you know, going
to continue to keep playing, it sounds like he's getting
(38:25):
traded to the AFC. I mean, think about a conference
with Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, probably
Lamar Jackson unless he gets traded. But I don't see
that happening this year. Justin Herbert, I mean, you've got Russell.
We'll see what Sean pay can do to build him
out to what he used to be. It is loaded.
I mean, if you're in the NFC, Kirk Cousins is
(38:47):
sitting back somewhere smiling. I would think most everyone's kind
of sitting back in the NFC thinking this is wide open.
Jayleen Hurts has to be smiling about this. Matt Stafford's
probably come back thinking like, we don't have to do
it un here, do we? We just got to figure
the way of getting the playoffs and maybe making a run.
I just if I'm Derek Carr, that has to play
(39:08):
a role in my decision outside of just trying to
find the best meal, most talented team, best chance of winning.
It has to be thinking, two, look at the NFC
and how if you get into the playoffs you can
make a run and do something special. I'm skeptical. If
I'm looking at Aaron Rodgers at this point, I would
I would approach that asset with caution. I mean that's
(39:32):
just how I would view it. I mean, when you
start to really put together the pieces of what transpired,
like he went into a hobbit hole to decide if
he wants to retire or keep playing, I just think
that you're already if you're contemplating retirement, you're already almost there,
(39:53):
like you're more on the other side of it. You
can't have one foot in football and one foot out.
That's just not how football works. And I would be
cautious of that if I'm if I'm a franchise out there,
and what it would take for us to be able
to make that trade to get him. If I'm these teams,
(40:15):
I'm looking at Derek carr as right now. He is
easily the most attractive person to try to bring into
into your organization. He checks off the boxes as a leader.
He takes accountability, he takes self accountability as well as
team accountability. He would be he would be a great
(40:36):
addition to anyone's team and he can play. And a
lot of people look, I look at the Matthew Stafford
situation and how that played out. I think it's like,
in a lot of ways, it's the same type of scenario.
You got a really, really fine quarterback that if he
found himself in a better situation, you you can see
(40:59):
the the results you could you could benefit from it.
I think he's more attractive if you ask me then.
Taking a flyer on going at Aaron Rodgers. But the
teams that are looking at Derek Carr or that would
make the most sense. I don't know that they were
as close to being super Bowl caliber teams. And that's
fair that that's one hundred percent fair. But there is
(41:22):
talent on the Jets team, there is talents on Tampa
Bay's team. So you would rather sign up for Derek
Carr because you would get more bang for your buck
down the road. Beliefs one or two years you get
from Rogers, I mean, what are you going to get
the one or two years? To me again, I mean
(41:42):
when you're when you're almost when your mindset is I
gotta I gotta really debate if I'm going to keep
playing or if I'm going to retire. At some point,
the debate isn't about them not wanting to deal with
the offseason. The debate becomes this person is really contemplating
if they're going to keep playing or retire. And once
that becomes the conversation, that means that that person is
(42:04):
entertaining it to the point of where I really have
to decide if I'm going to keep playing or if
I'm going to leave the game. That's not You're not
going to get the best version of that player. I
don't care who it is, and he might have a
great year, but that's I feel like that's more you're
taking more of a risk if you're dealing with a
guy that you know is contemplating if they're going to retire,
(42:26):
like us having a conversation about hey, well would they
be having with Lynch, be having a conversation with Brady
about pulling them out of retirement to come back and play.
And so why why you want to pull him out
of retirement. He's already retired in his mind, he's retired.
You're not going to get the same player. That dog
(42:47):
mentality is there, but it ain't the same. It's just
not the same. So I mean, I think I think
Derek Carr is certainly the safer of the two if
you're talking about a sweepstakes between Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr.
Like sometimes, what everything that glitters is not certainly gold
unless you you know, you're a notre dame guy, But yeah,
(43:08):
and then it's true it is god, you know. But
other than that, I mean, everything that glitters isn't gold.
I would be careful if I'm if I'm looking at
Aaron Rodgers at this point, I'll be careful. See I
think I still think Rogers takes his career very seriously.
I mean, who doesn't rattle off their touchdowns and interceptions
(43:29):
over the past two years like he did without knowing
that their very well, he's locked in, it's ready to go.
That sound more like a Hall of Fame bit than
it does. Uh, you know, bring me onto your team.
He's just trying to let everybody know what happened when
they drafted his replacement. That's all, you know. I have
no problem with flexing, so I had no problem with
him doing that. Yeah, so there's absolutely zero um he
(43:53):
did it. So what is the So if you're betting
on where Derek Carr ends up, like that would be
the odds on favorite right now if you had to
look at it, because some of these odds that are
out are so Carolina up there makes a lot of sense. Yeah,
they've been a lot of sense. Tampa was up. I'm
(44:13):
gonna say Tampa. I'm gonna say Tampa because he's got
two dope receivers. I mean, are they bringing up those
guys are still under crime? I know Mike Evans's coming back.
I think, God, thank god, it didn't he do it, dude?
I think so yeah, he did do it, dude, because
he came back the year after on the franchise attack healthy.
I mean, those guys just got to stay healthy and
their defense that their defense is a good defense. They
(44:35):
got strong players, but they got to play better than
what they did last year. They got cat problems though, well,
depending on what their team looks like coming out of
whatever they have to do, if they have some of
the key pieces still in place, you gotta believe Tampa
is still an attractive place to go to. I still
think New Orleans is a live dog, just because it
(44:57):
was the first place he visited. He and a couple
of days there. He then talked to them again at
the combine in Indianapolis. If Carolina feels like they can
move up and draft a quarterback in the first round
and they'd rather got that Southern hospitality, like real kind
and you know, very caring type of way about him,
I mean, he would fit into that community really will. Yeah.
(45:20):
And by the way, the fact that he has that
Southern accent just be I mean, he grew up in Houston,
but he list in California destined to be a coach,
do you think so. Yeah, that's where he's going to
really pay dividends. Not a pastor. I mean he probably
is a pastor now, televangelist. Probably he does some of
that stuff. Probably, Yeah, very strong, you know, spiritual religious faith.
(45:45):
Just because he's got the southern accent, he's got to
be a coach. Yes, Why do you say he's got
a southern accent. He has more of like a rural accent.
I don't know. That's that's what lemart, That's what he
turns out. What sounds more like country. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I don't know, you know, yeah, yeah, you know. Yeah. No,
(46:07):
boy's fault that we lost to Day. Hey, you know, everybody,
it showers, it's the bus, it's postgame meal. We'll circle
back up on Monday, all right. A lot of pity
with Dennis Allen as well too. You know. Yeah, when
you got that little accent, with that little twang in
your accent, that's why that's why your boy, uh Kelly
(46:29):
put it in his voice when he was in the value.
The heavier it was, the more Day was believers. They
they showed up too. By the way, did Brian Kelly
go to the linebacker lounge like Mike Bray and do
shots with the fans when he was in South Bend.
Did that ever, that happen with Brian Kelly at all?
I'm not aware. I couldn't really confirm Norton, so I'm
(46:51):
not really sure. Couldn't strike me as one of the
people that would go to the linebacker line slam a
coming out. He might have been no b used to drink,
used to were talking Jamison? You know we maybe some
proper twelve? Are we talking like a Martini proper twelve?
What are you slepping stuff now for? It's like the
(47:13):
only Irish whiskey I know other than Connor McGregor, than Jamieson.
It's the only other Irish whiskey I know other than Jamison.
You can cass my rs. Who is that? I don't know.
That's how I heard it in my hair in my
head though it is two pros and a cup of
(47:35):
That was I mean, that came out of nowhere. Yeah,
we got gives Hill. That was Brad Brady. I'm the
set of Big New kickoff. We got. We started off
with it almost being Italian Polka, which turned out to
be check Polka to check. Yeah, Yeah, no, you're you're.
