Sports Radio. He's my man and it's his day. It's St.
Patrick's Day, and his name is Brady Quinn. I do
feel like it's my birthday. I mean, today is not
my birthday, but I feel like it kind of is.
You know, it's it's it's a great day. Everyone gets
to uh gets the joint in on all the celebrations.
I feel bad. I feel like even though Chicago's dying
(00:46):
um the river there Green, I don't know that a
lot of places are doing their typical festivities due to
COVID outside of drinking like that will that will be
the one festivity that's that's gonna be universally shared on
this day. And so what we've been doing here and
we did it. We started last hour here on Fox
Sports Radio. Brady Quinn's got deus and don't tips for St.
(01:07):
Patrick's dam and we so we got on the subject
of food for St. Patrick's Day and the conversation went
from green pancakes, uh, to cabbage to the uh what
is it? Uh? Bangers? Yeah, well, but what's what's the meat?
Corn bread? Are not corn? Corn beef? Corn beef? Sorry,
corn beef? And what is it? Bangers and Mash Like
(01:31):
it sounds like a law group, Bangers and Matt, What
are you talking about? It might actually be? Is that
a sports talk R show? It's just sausage and mash.
That's all it is. That's all it is. People try
to make it more than it is. It's sausages and
mashed potatoes. That's all it is. It's basically us. You
think about it, if you had to describe our show
(01:54):
basically what it is. But but so you brought up
soda bread. And the reason the reason I want to
just mention this a guy on Twitter because I've never
heard of soda bread in my life and you just
said it a few minutes ago. I have no idea
what the hell it is. Guy on Twitter said, soda
bread is when baking soda is used as the uh
leavening or leavening agent. Whatever the hell that means rather
(02:15):
than the yeast, it's slightly bitter or acidic. It's not
bad different. I like it with real salted butter. So
that is a real thing. I thought you were just
you were just spinning yarns here on the air. Now
I was. I was not merely just making that up. Um,
there's all kinds of stuff out there. Uh. Now, Shepherd's
pie is one that I think it's more of an
English dish. But I like Shepherd's pies. So I would
(02:38):
always try to request that and see if my mom
could make that. Again. Like I said, I was a
picky eater grown up, so I would always try to, like, um,
find a few things that I'd like that kind of
remained within a little bit that the holiday spirit. Now,
you're not the only irishman on the show. Here, Roberto
our technical producers with us here on Fox Sports Radio. Now, ROBERTA,
(03:00):
you mentioned that you're going to uh no, are you
going to make anything for I know you're a big cook. Now,
nobody actually sees him cook. They see him stir the
stuff afterwards and it's like, hey, look at what I made,
And it's like, okay, dude, did you could just go
to like Vaughans or a Pavilions like, you know, make
it afterwards. All right. So so you are being being
(03:20):
Irish like you are, you're going to have Irish nachos correctly.
I'm not gonna make them. I'm just gonna go buy alright,
I'm unbelievable. I could the last two days. I don't
feel like believable, and I'm like, Brady, I didn't give up.
I'll goold hell. No, that's right. Yeah, my mom told
(03:43):
me to do that a long time ago. I'm like, sorry, Mo,
I'm never doing that. Yeah. That's no, that's that's something
that's good parenting. That's what that's called. Here's now for
Irish nachos. I've had them. First of all, they're fantastic.
If I am, I am I wrong here, Brady. The
Irish nachos have the core beef on top of them.
I'm almost possible. I would imagine I've actually never had
(04:04):
Irish nachos. Um neither in Dublin, Ohio nor Dublin, Ireland.
Have we have to? That might just that might be
a Southern California spin off. Yeah, I would imagine, like
somewhere over the Rockies things went a little bit sideways
and we just right there like you know what, whatever,
let's round up a little bit. We'll just call my
Irish nachos and they went from that. Uh but I
(04:27):
corned beef sliders are very good as well too. All right,
so we will have more on the the great St.
Patrick's Day tradition. I actual want you to know your
home always be too small to hold all your friends.
You're gonna do this the entire show. You. Let me
give some Irish blessings. Man, These Irish blessings are such crap.
(04:51):
Let me just tell you that. Let me you know
what they are. This is basically like something that that
somebody went out and got Chinese food. They opened up
the fortune cookie are like, yeah, we'll call that Irish.
You know, why don't we just take that and we'll
call that Irish. It's like Irish nachos. Yeah, It's like
it's like bits and pieces of a horoscope and you
guys just take it and you like, you know, cut
it up like you know, Gemini's horoscope for the day,
(05:14):
and you go, all right, this is let's let's go
ahead and add this little tidbit here. So I mean,
just whenever you feel the need, just drop one of
those gems on us here. I will, and there's no
doubt that I will. Um. But yeah, I've never heard
of Irish nachos. That that's a first for me. Yeah,
but I don't know man that Listen, they do things
weird here in southern California. I mean, I've heard of
(05:35):
a toad in the hole. I've heard of a spotted
dick and that's also I believe that's an English dish.
But I've never heard of Irish nachash. Well, you spend
enough time in the locker room, you'll see all the above,
you know what I mean. Brady Quinn, Here we transition
from the the trough and stall here in sports stock
(05:57):
Radio over to something else. Brady, when we have got
some bad news for the NFC. The forty Niners are
a getting healthy and be just resigned offensive tackle Trent
Trent Williams to a contract and Alex Mack reunited with
Kyle Shanahan, the longtime center in Atlanta. Alex math Mac
(06:19):
is now with the San Francisco forty Niners. The details
on Trent Williams contract, according diet Diana Rassini of ESPN
six years, one hundred thirty eight million dollars. He's the
highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history of the fifty
five point one guaranteed thirty point one million he got
(06:43):
at as a signing bonus. So, first of all, what
do you make of that sort of a contract for
thirty three year old Trent Williams? Who add other teams
that were making a run out of I saw the Chiefs,
So the Bears were trying to to poke around and
see what it would cost. But he ends up staying
in San Francisco, the has paid offensive lineman in NFL history. Yeah, no,
(07:03):
and rightfully so he's he's played well, he's up there
in age at thirty three. But I think they look
just a little bit south and they see Andrew Worth
and they see the way he was able to play,
and um, you know towards you know, the latter part
of his thirties, and they're thinking Trent Williams still has
a few good, really good years left in him. So
you know, why not take this opportunity while you've got
(07:24):
Jimmy Garoppolo on a relatively cheap contract. Uh, you've got
an offensive line now with Alex mackw you talked about
it was used to be more of a perennial Pro bowler,
but played some of his best football and Kyle Shanahan's scheme,
so they get reunited. And by the way, I believe
they were together in Cleveland for a year and then
Atlanta and and now in San Francisco. So you've been
(07:46):
able to solidify the interior of that pocket. This tells
me that you know. Tells me one thing is I
think it's Jimmy Garoppolo. It's gonna be the guy. I
don't know that they're gonna be in the market to
make moves and changes and all that because they're trying
to retain guy is like Kyle us Check for example,
who know that they signed back on that and that deal.
But I think they feel like if this team is healthy,
(08:08):
they're capable of winning a Super Bowl, and that all
depends on Jimmy Garoppolo and and that and whether or
not he can stay healthy. So that's what these moves
mean to me. That's why I think they signed Trent
Williams to the deal they did, which really, look, you're
eating up about two years and guarantees and that's about
as good as you're gonna find in a contract nowadays
for left tackle. Uh maybe if he was younger, you'd
(08:30):
see a third year, you know, of guarantees wrapped up
in that contract. That's not the case here. So the
truth of the matter is they are trying to win
right now in this window that they have, getting Alex Mack,
getting Trent Williams, trying to beef up their offensive line,
knowing that that's largely gonna dictate how they're able to
run the football and if they're able to protect Jimmy Garoppolo,
(08:52):
and if they can do those two things and they
don't suffer a rash of injuries like we saw last
year on their defense, I think there are two. It
was gonna be competing for that NFC championship, no doubt.
It just felt early in the season they were just
snake bit because I think it was George Kittle went
out if I'm not mistaken, the first game of the years, yeah, yeah,
(09:13):
and and those guys. I think that was a Week
two at New York with the Jets, and so you
lose both those guys for the season. Garoppolo had two
different high ankle sprains. It just felt like they could
never get right, like they could never get But then
you look at some games last year, even with backups playing,
even backup quarterbacks whatever, they were winning games like they
(09:33):
were surprising teams and and and competitive in some games,
and you thought, because all the injuries, they wouldn't be there.
So if you just take a healthy forty Niner team,
a team that was look six minutes away from winning
the Super Bowl the year before, I know people like
to pile on Jimmy Garoppolo, I think, without a doubt
they're one of the contenders in the NFC. I think
(09:54):
I think that game against the Bucks, if that were
to line up next year, I think that's a fun matchup. Man,
I really did. I do too. And I think in
part because you know that defensive front when healthy, can
give teams fits. And that's what gives Tom Brady fits,
is that if if he can't drop back, move once,
throw and he's gonna get pressure and hit all day.
(10:14):
We've seen it before the New York Giants in the
Super Bowl. You know that's what usually gets the best
of him. So, um, they've got the components to do it.
The biggest question is their secondary. You know they've got
a lot of free agents the secondary unless they believe
there are some young players you can step up in
that spot. It's gonna be you know now this point
moving forward now to today, officially free agency will start.
(10:35):
Hasn't started yet, but it will start officially today. All
this talk we've heard the past two days, it's been
in that legal tampering window whatever that means, and tampering
is supposed to be illegal. Um, but today's is when
all these deals we've heard about will become official. And
that's where you'll see the second wave of signings and
guys either signing back or them looking to add on
(10:56):
some other players for depth, potentially starting spots, and then
looking of the draft. But um, this roster, you know,
when healthy, is one of the better in the NFC.
And I think it's a tough matchup for most just
because that defensive front. Who's the best team in that division?
Because I know the Rams upgraded, we can say they
upgraded at quarterback with Matt Stafford. Um, the forty Niners
you would think are going to come back. They'll be
(11:18):
much healthier than they were last year. Barring anything catastrophice
and Seattle is still gonna have Russell Wilson and then Arizona.
They feel like, all right, well we're going to continue
to develop Cliff and Kyler together. They'll develop that. And
of course they've got the you know, the great almighty J. J. Watt, who,
no doubt about it, will be the you know, the
tables will turn once he gets there in the desert,
(11:38):
after he's done, you know, bathing in the ice for
no reason at all. But who's the best team in
the NFC West right now? It's it's so tough to
be able to make that call because I think it's
the Rams, like by a slight margin, even though they
don't have the best quarterback in the division. That's obviously
(11:58):
Russell Wilson. But that roster in comparison to the Rams
or forty Niners, even the Cardinals, to me, isn't as good.
I mean, find me two better defensive players, all right
on the Seahawks then J. J. Watton, Chandler Jones for example,
or even Buddha Baker for that matter. Also on the Cardinals,
Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, or looking at the San Francisco
(12:21):
forty Niners, um Nick Bosa and pick anyone else. Fred
Warner or any other player basic you know, Eric Armstead,
Javon Kinla. I mean they have got you know, better personnel,
at least on paper. You know, top the bottom, every
you know, every single team over the Seahawks defensively. So
(12:41):
I'm sorry Seattle is in there because of Russell Wilson.
That's the only reason if they trade him away that
that team is going to the seller. They're going to
the bottom of the division. It you know, I have
no idea which one is gonna come out. Something tells
me the forty, if they can stay healthy, will be
that team. And I know that might be surprising to some,
but you've got a transition of of Staley leaving uh
(13:04):
the L A RAM staff. You don't know how that's
gonna go. Um. And you've got a new o c
coming in with with Shane Raldren going into Seattle, uh
leaving the L A. Rams even though you know, really
McVeigh calls all the plays. Um. And then you've got Arizona,
which has been kind of more static. But you know,
can they really get over the hump. It's a great division.
I can't wait to see, But I think it's the L. A.
(13:25):
Ram still by a slim margin. And here's the good
thing about the forty Niners. It's really a win win situation.
I mean, who doesn't like a win win situation, Brady Quinn.
It's like you sit down at the slot machine, you know,
in Vegas, and it's like, all right, well, you know,
I might win some money in the slots. But regardless,
every time, in the background, you here cocktails. You know
you're gonna have a couple of drinks and you're gonna
(13:45):
get bombed. So it's a win win situation. Here's the
win win situation for the forty Niners. Say you don't
win it all this year, or so you get to
the playoffs and you lose in the first round or
the second round, or who knows, the third round, or
maybe you lose the Super Bowl. Again, regardless of what
happened is this season, Aaron Rodgers is going to be
the starting quarterback there in two anyway, So here we go.
(14:05):
I mean, like you're set up the next couple of years,
Like they're setting the stage for that. Right. Alex mac
is a northern California guy. Right played his ball at
Cal so he's maybe trying to move a little bit
back closer some of his roots, so it makes sense. Look,
maybe maybe Aaron Rodgers looking do the same thing. Uh.
I do think this will be his last year in
Green Bay. We didn't have a chance to get to that.
(14:27):
I think Sunday we had talked about that. But I
do think this will be his last year. And by
the way, outside of resigning Aaron Jones have have the
packers Have they made any moves, any big splashes. Yeah,
I don't believe so, I'm not quite sure that the
Green Bay Packers have done anything of note when it
(14:48):
comes to free agency. I mean they lost Jamal Williams. Yeah,
Aaron Aaron Jones is back. But outside of that, by
the way, Jamal Williams is the best interview in the NFL.
I'm just telling you now. He is the best interview
in the NFL. The Detroit media market should be thankful
they're signing Jamal Williams. He will bring so much comedic
(15:10):
relief to a franchise that's in rebuilding mode. He is
a funny, funny guy. Oh my god, did I tell
you the lie I lied to a buddy of mine.
This is this is one of the great first I'm
gonna tell you the lie, and you tell me whether
or not this is believable. So so let me just
preface this for people that are tuning in right now,
I'm telling you this right now. This is a lie.
(15:31):
I made this entire thing up to try and throw
my buddy off. My buddy is a die hard Miami
Dolphins fan. Listen and you get grade this one to
ten on the lie. I told him that Kenny Golladay
isn't going to sign with the Dolphins because he loves
Kenny Golliday and he wants him to sign with the Dolphins.
I told him Golladay is not going to sign with
(15:52):
the Dolphins because Dan Campbell is on bad terms with
Miami with the way things ended his time air, and
so the only way he promised Kenny goll Day he
wouldn't slap the franchise tag on him is that he
wouldn't sign with the Dolphins. I literally made that lie
up at a thin air, and my buddy bought it,
hook line and sinker, one, one to ten. How do
(16:15):
you grade that lie? Um, It's it's somewhere above five,
maybe maybe a seven. It's pretty solid. It's pretty solid. However,
I'm not sure why anyone would believe that a player
would go ahead and believe or care after he's a
free agent. What a head coach thinks that that? What's
(16:39):
the repercussions there? That Dan Campbell's gonna bite off his kneecaps?
Exactly exactly. But when when fans get so emotionally invested
in this stuff, you can manipulate You can just play
with them. You can play with their emotions. You can
manipulate him. They're like puppets on strings, and so you like,
if you just actually took a step back and thought
(16:59):
about rationally, you go all right, then it doesn't make
any sense. But in the heat of the moment, he
still believes it. And I have yet to tell him
that I completely made that entire story up because I
prefaced it. And I know you love this when people
pretend like they have sources in the media, especially radio
host I preface this with uh. At the beginning, I said,
I've talked to some people. I didn't talk to anybody.
(17:21):
Nobody talks to me. Well, now you're being now, you're
being a true journalist right now, that is that is
what it requires. You just says people told me, and
then you absolutely speculate or make something up and look,
people will say it's true because, uh, some clown on
Twitter might have floated something out there that runs a
blog that looks somewhat you know, happy, and so now
(17:44):
that they think that's real, Yeah, that's yeah, no, and
you're on the right track. And here's the thing. I
can't say a source told me because there's only one
source that who's the only person with NFL connections that
talks to me. It's you. I would just be out
of you. You'd be outing me, and it's which would
be bad. I mean almost as bad as making up
(18:05):
fake Twitter accounts to then actually um like throw shade
or or you know, makes fun of you. It almost
would be as bad as I got your fake Twitter
account right here, pal that like, I'm making that stuff up.
Give me a break and do your investigation. Hire the
private investigator you want to hire. And you're not gonna
like the results. That's the heart that you're not gonna
like the results. Yeah, results? This all right? Brady Quinn,
(18:27):
Jonas Knox and for Clay Travis here on Fox Sports Radio,
this is outkicked. The coverage here on FS are all right.
Coming up next. One team in the NFL has made
a decision at quarterback. It's not the team that you've
been hearing about, but it could be an indicator as
to what they do near the top of the draft.
We'll have that for you next here at Knox and
Quinn in for Clay Travis here on fs ARE this
(18:49):
is outkicked the coverage with Clay Travis. Hey, this is
Jason McIntyre. Joined me every weekday morning on my podcast
Great Fire with Jason McIntyre. This isn't your typical sports
pod pushing the same tired narratives down your throat every day.
Straight Fire gives you honest opinions on all the biggest
(19:10):
sports headlines, accurate stats to help you win big at
the sports book, and all the best guests. Do yourself
a favor and listen to Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre
on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast or wherever
you get your podcasts. Alright, so, Brady Quinn, um, we
do have before we get to this conversation in the NFL.
(19:33):
There's a team in the NFL that apparently is going
to make a decision near the top of the draft,
and it's gonna be a non quarterback decision from from
what it appears and according to you. So we will
get to that here coming up momentarily. Uh, do you
want to let you know that according to Ian Rappaport,
the inside scoop, if you will, all right, the inside
(19:55):
scoop on what happened between the Seahawks and the Bears.
They met in Fargo, North Dakota, UM at Trey Lancers. Yeah,
and they had a discussion. They exchanged offers for Russell Wilson.
The Seahawks apparently slept on the offer, and then the
(20:15):
Bears had offered multiple first round picks, and then they
decided yesterday it was Pete Carroll's decision, that they didn't
want to trade Russell Wilson, uh for whatever the Bears
had offered. And that's when the Bears decided to go
with Andy Dalton. So that's the the inside scoop. So
I think we can go ahead and close the coffin
on Russell Wilson getting traded this offseason. I think we're
(20:35):
good here. Well, I'm not gonna say there's a zero
percent chance for this reason, Um, you know, a couple
of first round picks or a few first round picks
or whatever, the offer was. The truth is, it's probably
not worth giving up Russell Wilson. He's a quarterback who's
been to two Super Bowls and won one. He's been
in the m v P conversation. He's that good of
(20:57):
a player if you if you trade away you know
for Pete Carroll, who's up there in age. He's one
of the older head coaches in the NFL. Hell, I
think it might be the oldest. You're gonna have a
hard time trying to find that again. And so it's
really got to be significant. But more so than significant
in regards the draft compensation, you have to replace what
(21:19):
you're losing. I mean if someone came to you and said, hey,
I want to swap houses with you, um, but you
know I don't have anywhere for you to live now.
I just have like a bunch of money I can
give you. You're kind of like, all right, Well that
helps me in the short term because I can go
find like a rental somewhere, But eventually I've got to
find a house. Like I'm comfortable here. I like my house.
(21:40):
This is like you know, it's where I put down
some roots. So it's it's kind of like that with
the quarterback situation is you can like throw a bunch
of draft compensation at him, but if you're not replacing
what you got, it's it's gonna be hard to end
up wanting to make them move. And unfortunately the Bears
don't have that sort of ammunition. Well, I at least
(22:01):
should say they didn't when they were in Fargo together
they had Nick Foles. Maybe Andy Dorton will change their mind,
but I do think there's it's not a zero percent chance.
I think there will still be a chance as we
work towards your closer to the draft, in the event
that that deal Sweden's. But I do love the idea
that Russell Wilson goes out, airs out his offensive lineman. Uh.
(22:24):
You know, his agent goes on record and says, oh,
we'll go to these teams. Uh and and basically, you know,
rip rip the organization and just pulled sort of a
little bit of a diva move, and the Seahawks decided,
all right, we're going to have open trade discussions and
sleep on an offer while we're at Trey Lances Pro Day.
I love the way the Seahawks have handled this. I'm
(22:46):
gonna be honest with you, like Pete carrollin John Sneyder like, oh,
you want to play this game. No, we're not gonna
keep quiet, like the Houston Texans front office is. We're
gonna fight fire with fire, Brady Quinn, and we have
got ourselves an uncomfortable situation in the months to come
in Seattle. And I'm by the way goes to show
you how much they're paying attention to trade lance throw
on huh. I mean that's the thing that people don't realize,
(23:08):
you know. You you go to these pro days, especially
now because you don't have the combine, and then this
is just this is what happens at the combine. The
combine allows all these teams to bump into each other
and then have conversations about you know, a potential player
on the roster not to be named, you know, and
go through it in that sort of way where you
(23:28):
talked in a cryptic manner. But without the combine, we
didn't have that. So you're going to get guys, uh,
you know who are maybe potentially in discussions about a trade,
probably going to go meet up at a pro day
and and sitting either at the pro day or at
a bar somewhere else or whatever while they're waiting discussing
potentially some trade scenarios and what would go down. So, uh,
(23:50):
that's how teams have adjusted. Uh. And it's not to
take it away from what Trey lances as a player.
It's just the fact that you know, at least in
the case of the Seahawks, they're probably not gonna be
able to get trad Adlance. I think he's probably be
gone before then. I think we're gonna have five quarterbacks
taken in the first round, so we'll see. I mean,
bottom line is, if if you're the Seattle Seahawks, there's
no way you can trade Russell Wilson unless there's some
(24:14):
way that it all the offer provides you what you're
losing and even more so for years to come. And
I just don't see how the Bears will be able
to do that. Well, maybe while he was in Fargo,
Ryan Pace should have gone to where they had the
final scene with Steve BUSHEMI shoved in the wood chipper
and just kind of taking a look inside and said, huh, well,
there's my draft resu Man, they're interesting, like all my
(24:36):
all my success in the draft. It's funny here. But
as you always point out, Brady Quinn. He does have
one thing going for him. It's a great head of hair.
I mean if if it's unbelievable, like every single time
I go to the combine, you know you're sitting there,
you're talking these guys and you almost get lost. It's
such a great head to lettuce him. Let's need there's
a there's a few out there that there's a few
out there that have some great lettuce Ryan paces one
(24:58):
of them. Now, did you think he is a palm
maid moose old school gel like the Labella stuff you
get like Walgreens for like two bucks that ends up
being uh, you know it's got all the flakes inside.
Like what do you think he goes with for his hair?
I have no idea. I mean, it's it's whatever product
it is. It's I mean, it looks pretty natural, looks
like there's nothing in there. So he's doing it right.
(25:19):
Maybe maybe he's spending too much time with whatever hair product.
He's fine for his air. That's all right though, But
you know, Kevin White and Leonard Floyd, I would like
a word with you, Mr Pace. All right, So Brady
Quinn Jonas knocks here on Fox Sports Radio, coming up
twelve minutes from now here on fs are part two
of Brady Quinn's tips for St. Patrick's Day. I have
(25:40):
got a couple of questions when it comes to attire.
I've also got a couple of questions when it comes
to music. I know your wife you mentioned earlier, is
gonna be uh not too pleased later on in the
day with the traditional Irish music. I have several follow
ups for you, and we will continue to pick the
brain of the Pride of Dublin, Ohio. Brady Quinn here
on Fox Sports Radio. Look at for or do it
(26:01):
if you can't wait. I know, big big fan of
this so far, really really fun bits so far here
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, it's cold Mi
garage and I tell you that all right. So Brady Um,
Matt Ryan. We got a restructuring situation in Atlanta. Matt
Ryan UM a guy who at one point last season
(26:21):
I think the Falcons went two hundred and nine consecutive
drives without a touchdown. But never mind all that. Matt
Ryan is back at quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, and
it brings up the question what do they do at
the fourth pick? Because there's gonna there's gonna be a
quarterback there. Correct, what are they gonna do? They're not
taking a quarterback. I mean, here's the deal. They restructured
(26:44):
his contract, and he was he was slated into account
for like forty almost forty one million dollars against the
salary cap. So, just so people understand the salary cap,
the max is said to be a like a hundred
eighty two and a half or something like that. That
that's almost only five percent one player accounting for of
(27:04):
the team's salary caps. So they restructured it. They brought
it down about I don't know what was it, fourteen
million bucks, and by converting what was supposed to be
I believe a bonus into a signing bonus, which essentially
puts one million dollars of cash right in his hand.
But I feel it was like twenty three million dollar salaries.
(27:26):
Some of that converted into a signing bonus, so it
reduced his cap hit by fourteen million, which creates more room.
But also, you're not gonna give you know, twenty one
million bucks um or over twenty million bucks and a
signing bonus to a player and then decided to draft
his replacement like I'm sorry, that's that's not gonna happen.
(27:46):
Arthur Smith, I'm sure, got there as well as the
rest of the front office in Atlanta and said we're
gonna keep Matt Ryan around. We still think he's got
some good years left left in him, and especially considering
look what Arthur Smith did with Ryan in Tannehill in Tennessee.
I think they're gonna try to implement a very similar strategy. Now,
tam Yhel is a better athlete than than Matt Ryan,
(28:07):
but Matt Ryan can still play from the pocket, utilize
the RPO as the play action passed the things that
he implemented in Tennessee, and be extremely effective with the
personnel they have. So I know it's been mocked up.
I know there's a lot of Falcons fans or fans
of you know, whether it's Zack Wilson or Justin Fields
that of Ohio State. He's you know, he's from he's
from the South, and people thought, all right, maybe he'd
(28:28):
want to maybe you want to go somewhere like Atlanta.
It ain't happening. I would be shocked if with the
move they made with their contract that Arthur Blank would
be willing to cut a check for over twenty million
bucks to immediately hand it to his quarterback and say
and and you know, here's here's your twenty million. But
we're also going to draft the gout to replace you
at some point. That is not gonna happen. So bank
(28:51):
on the Falcons doing one of two things, drafting the
best player available or trading back out of that spot
accumulating more picks to help out this team. Um Adam
Schefter of ESPN said he was quoted as saying that
there's going to be four quarterbacks taken in the first
six or seven picks of the draft. All right, So
let's let's play a little game here, all right, who's
(29:13):
taken a quarterback? Because I think that's too many. Unless
there's a bunch of trades, I think it's too many.
We we believe Jacksonville is gonna take Jacksonville has taken
Trevor Lawrence. Dun yeah, dundeeo. I'm not Are the Jets
Zach Wilson? Is that just what's gonna have? I know,
all the odds are saying Vegas is saying he's going
to be the starter Week one for the Jets. Are
the Jets taken Zack Wilson. Do you have the same
(29:33):
feeling the Jets are doing that. I mean, I personally
would say field second between the two players, Um, you know, so,
so whether it's Zack Wilson or Justin Fields. Yes, I
think a quarterback goes off of the number two overall pig. Okay,
the Dolphins at three. I don't think the Dolphins take
a quarterback at three. However, I do think a quarterback
(29:55):
is taken at three. I wouldn't be shocked if someone
doesn't trade up, especially depending the Jets decision, that someone
doesn't trade up and try to take a quarterback at three.
But here's the interesting thing is, I don't know that
there'll be a market for for that quite as much,
only because until this restructuring with Matt Ryan, it was
maybe assumed that Atlanta at four wasn't played for a quarterback. Yeah,
(30:18):
I think that's out the window now. So I don't
know that you need to leap frog the Atlanta Falcons
if you feel like your guys still there on the
board at quarterback. And then you've got the Bengals sitting
at five after the Falcons at four, and I would
assume Cincinnati is going to hold onto that and and
just take one of the offensive linemen over there to try. Yeah.
Would I would think in this scenario if Panay Sewell
(30:39):
hasn't been taken yet, and there's an outside chance some
people like Rashawn Slater Northwestern better, but it will be
a tackle taken, especially considering Look, Joe Burrow had no
protection last year, and that's a team by the way
that we're talking about free agency and you're just getting
crickets coming out of Southern Ohio. They need to be
doing all they can to help build up and protect
that guy. He's coming off of an a C L
(30:59):
N jury. You know, largely you could have said if
it wasn't, that would have been something else with the
way that offensive line protected by the way I had
not seen the one angle of that knee injury, and
knee injury is already freaked me out to begin with. Uh,
there's an angle of that knee injury was so much
worse than I think a lot of people realized because
(31:20):
he was covered up by the pile. But there's a
side angle. I mean, his his knee was destroyed, man,
I mean just inside and out. So I'm assuming he's
gonna come back healthy, but you know, you would figure
out they're going to try and do whatever they can
to to to protect him. Um because he look he
had he not been injured, he's the rookie of the
Year last year. Correct. Yeah, it would have been close.
(31:41):
It depends on how many wins they got. You know,
I'm not sure they would have won one enough games
because that would have been the argument for justin Herbert
and winning it over him the Chargers. You know, the
stats probably would have been there, but you know, Herbert
ultimately had his team in a little better spot once
things got going. All right. Brady Quinn Jonas knocks Ox
Sports Radio in for Clay Travis is out kicked the
(32:02):
coverage here on fs ARE in live from the Farmer's
Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. All right, coming up next
Part two, Brady Quinn's dues and don't some tips to
take with you throughout the rest of St. Patrick's day.
They're yours. Next here on fs ARE, This is outkicked
the coverage with Clay Travis. Good song, Brady Quinn, I
(32:27):
gotta see here's what I picture, Brady Quinn, All right,
can you read? Try singing? This for me. I would
love to hear you do an impression sing no, because
it sounds like a you know, Hyaena getting shanked. No,
I got no. Are we allowed to play the vocals?
Can we actually wait till they get to the vocals?
I don't know if we can. But it's she's got
this vibrato in her voice. It's like, what are you doing, dude,
(32:54):
what's happened? It's Jesus Christ. I mean that's as good
of an impression as I can do. Well, let me
tell you something. Everybody just got to witness the point man,
your your radio career. The low point in Brady's radio
career just took place here on Fox Sports Radio. I
can play this song on the drums. Yeah, that is
(33:19):
a complete shock to me. Yeah, I can play the drums,
I think. Well, I knew that, but I it was
just all lead singer. I thought he's just a frontman.
I didn't realize I actually play another instrument. Yeah, you
just like you spent enough time around it. You just
start like you pick something up and just start playing
it and whatever. Yeah, but I it's I can't play
a lot, but I can play that song. But the
only reason I can play that song is because it's
(33:40):
very basic. It's on. I got what you're saying. Yeah,
but it's not not that. I just thought you were
supposed to be the pretty face, the front man and
all that trying to take up all the good camera angles.
I thought you were that person. Yeah, you know, doing
gigs or between doing doing gigs, in between shifts at
t g I Fridays. Yeah, it's real, real, real elaborate
life out the vibe when you got all the flare on,
(34:04):
you know, you got a different buttons and things. That
is true. That, that is no doubt about. Jonas always
looks like a frontman just sitting behind the mic doing
his show, looks like a frontman Doe band. Sometimes he
sits on the mic. Um a round of applause for
Brady Quinn. The class act is here. Everybody another of
(34:25):
a class. Brady Quinn here on Fox Sports Radio, listen,
you warned people, you said, you know we're in for
Clay Travis. Here on OutKick the coverage, he said, if
you if you like the show yesterday, you're gonna be
sorely disappointed in the show today. It's a job well
done by Brady Quinn. Crank chokes for everybody. Brady Quinn
continues to act in a classy manner here on Fox
(34:47):
Sports Radio. You're unbelievable. Absolutely appreciate that. I'll think that
as a compliment. Um. Alright, So Brady Quinn and we
are doing this show live from the Farmers OutKick Studios
called Farmers Today. For a quote coming up in about
ten minutes from now here on fs ARE, there is
a bad idea that's been floated out there in the NFL.
We will get into that that ten minutes from now.
(35:09):
But it is time for part two of Brady Quinn's dues.
And don't some tips here now some people are asking,
you know who's responsible for the music right now? This
is actually a Justin Cooper playing these uh these instruments
here behind the scenes here on Fox Sports Radio. He's
got bagpipes in one hand, a bong in the other,
(35:31):
and a hockey sack and he's juggling at all. If
you're on Fox Sports Radio as we ring in St.
Patrick's day here on fs ARE, all right, So Brady
quit I gotta ask that bagpipe will know that that
very good point there. That's another solid point by you.
Now let me ask you this a tire right now?
(35:53):
You going full head to toe green? Are you wearing
like one green shirt? Are you wearing green shoes? Or
do you think the green stuff is simply you know,
a little bit outdated and it is not necessary at
this point? No, no, no, no, no no. First off, I
actually I totally sha. I go, hey, make sure the
girls are wearing green. I want them in pinched all
day all right? That that that still exists. That was
(36:13):
as a father, that was a fear for me for
my four year old daughter. I was like, make sure
she's wearing green. For whatever reason. By the way, my
two year old is in pre K two, like she's
she they wear these little uniforms whatever, and she can't
wear green. I was like, why can't she dress up?
She's like, I don't know. I just was part of
the deal for the class. So I was like, put
something green on her. I was like, I not want
(36:34):
that because because our middle child, she's the type where
she's she's two and a half years old. She doesn't
fight fair like, if if someone pinches her, she'll punch
him in the face. That's how our well, that's how
our middle daughter is. Though our oldest isn't like that.
Don't wonder where she got that from? Yeah, from her
mom's Oh yeah, okay, but but so so anyway, we're
(36:57):
trying to get him dressed up. I am one who
I believe you how to throw on the green. And
here's the thing, right, um, you shouldn't be overly concerned
with how you look on St. Patrick's Day, all right,
because by three pm, four pm, depending on where you're at,
no one's seeing well anyway, all right, everything's fuzzy. Some
people are seeing double reviews, so you're gonna look like
(37:18):
you added on double the amount of weight. It doesn't matter.
Put on some green. Maybe I have some cargo pants
if you're a guy, or shorts, because you're gonna be
able to need to pack, you know, pack some extras,
maybe your cargo shorts or some extra things to help
you out right, you know, maybe you know some you
know something. It just makes your location device on your
phone too. By the way, I'd rather go to the
(37:39):
electric chair than be pinched. I think it's the worst
thing in the world.
