(00:26):
So we were a little bit surprised by something that
took place in the world of sports. But what does
it mean moving forward? Now? We will get into that
coming up here in just a couple of moments from now.
He's LaVar Arrington. I'm Jonas Knoxes Is I'll kick the
coverage here on Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out
with us as always on the I Heart Radio app.
You can find us on hundreds of Fox Sports Radio
(00:47):
affiliates and wherever you are making us a part of
your Wednesday morning. We appreciate you doing so. Happy hump
Day to you and yours. We are going to take
you all the way up through the end of the hour,
fine am Eastern times, six o'clock Pacific, and we do
so with LaVar Arrington, a man who started a war
on the streets in the East Coast between seagulls and
(01:10):
crows back in the day. Yeah, and the crows one. Yeah,
a little uh, a little uh gang warfare on the streets,
and you started to realize that men like seagulls really
aren't very dangerous at all. Like all they can do
is try to hit you with that beat. They don't
even they got to be able to swim. They got
webbed feet, like they don't even really have like claws
(01:32):
all like that. Yeah, you know, yeah, they're slobs. I
mean it's it's like like my brother a text to
me and he said, oh, so they always have diarrhea too.
That's a good point. I mean they always have some
sort of stomach issue, you know. So yeah, you gotta
be you gotta be careful that you would have been happy.
I should have recorded it, man, I don't know what
I was thinking. I should have recorded that bad boy
because that was historical, man, like to make it work
(01:54):
because it worked. Yeah, Like I wanted to see this,
Like in my mind, I'm cocking a plan to see
which bird or is a tougher bird? And it happened. Man,
what's your favorite bird? Um? Jeez, uh, what would be
my favorite bird? I don't know a pterodactyl. Maybe a pterodactyl.
That's a good one. Yeah, probably got a pterod actyl. Yeah,
(02:16):
I think I think I haven't. Let's yeah, that's why,
you know, So it's a figment of your imagination, you know,
why not? You know, it's like I've never seen the
tooth fairy, but I appreciate the fifty cents and the
stick of gum I used to get as a kid.
I just I figure you a pterod actyl, you know,
a little something from the past, maybe a dodo bird.
(02:37):
You know, I think those are still extinct. They're still
I believe. So. Did you hear they're trying to bring
back wally mammoths, willy man mammoths. How are they going
to do that? Apparently they have enough DNA or something
like that to recreate it, all right? Sure, you know
they're they're saying to to try to limit the you know,
(02:58):
global warming. They're trying to take them the like Greenland
or something like that. They're trying to bring them back.
I heard this is a true story too. I'm not
even joking what they got, like it's in a cryo
chamber somewhere they saved. I mean, maybe they can extract
the DNA from the marrow of the bone that there
was still some merrow left. Like that just feels like
(03:20):
I don't know, that feels like a little some plastic surgery. Man.
Jurassic Park is on its way. You want to know
my favorite birds? That repelican. You want to know. So
birds of prey in general have what talents, right, sharp beaks,
they can tear things up, like people love the way
(03:42):
they look when they move around, like the American eagle,
and you know the bald eagle, the golden eagle and
all that. The falcon is a really really cool bird.
But you know what, they had their bets, Jonas, when
they go to hunt, right, they go, and they had
the intense ends of doing what grabbing it with their talents. Right.
(04:03):
So it's like if they go for a fish, if
they go for a rabbit, if they go for anything else,
to snake, whatever it may be, their bets are hedged
because if they miss, they just keep going. It's like
a fly by, right. But a pelican. When a pelican
goes hunting and a pelican goes to get their food,
there is a total commitment to the process of trying
(04:28):
to get their food. They First of all, they're very
graceful birds. The way they fly, they're graceful. But then
when they when they're they're you know, trolling and looking.
When they see what what it is that they're trying
to go get, then they go. They set themselves up
at the proper distance from the water and they torpedo,
(04:50):
They missile themselves into that water. Come on, they go
from being in the air too, in the water. They've
gone into an entirely different environment. They've gone into the
dragons layer, so to speak, to go get food. And
I just really respect that about them. That's you know,
I respect pelicans because they totally like a linebacker. When
(05:14):
you read it and you diagnose the play, you gotta
commit and you don't know what's on the other side.
That man could run you over, you could get popped
by alignment. Anything can happen, but you have to commit
to go get it done. And that's what pelicans do.
And that's why that's my favorite bird. What the hell
(05:34):
are you doing in your free time? Man? I have
way too much time. But I'm a teacher. I'm a mentor,
and I'm a teacher. So some people teach the way
of the praying mantis, the brasshopper, different things like that,
and see like people tuned in thinking all right, man,
it's just gonna be your typical breakdown of game one
(05:56):
of the NBA Finals. Down, absolutely not. We We've idea
find LaVar Arrington is the reason that multiple seagulls were
murdered on the streets. Look, I look, I got a
little bloody though. Yeah, I'm just saying, you know, I
don't know. I don't know that there's a hospital that'll
fix up, you know, a seagull after it gets jumped
(06:16):
by a bunch of crows, But you started it with
a French fry in the street and the on seagulls
stretchers bro alright, well, speaking of stretchers, we were shocked
that Janice even played in this game. So no nobody,
I think, expected that he was going to be in
this game, that they maybe try and give it a go.
(06:37):
He was upgraded from doubtful to questionable yesterday before the
game goes out there played pretty well considering the look
of the injury. Not the same nice that we've seen.
But afterwards the discussion with the honest was about his status,
uh and and where he was at with the injury,
and then also what his thought was when he initially
(07:00):
for the injury. Yeah, did do my best to get back, Um,
listen to my medical stuff, did that a treatment, take
care of my body, and uh, support my teammates, and
you know, now I'm back. At the end of the day,
I'm out there. Um, I feel good. I don't feel pain.
You know, I can run, I can jump, I said screens.
(07:20):
You know, I can remind the ball, I can do stuff.
So I'm good. I'm happy. I'm happy that I'm out there.
And uh, you know, at the end of the day,
I haven't a clip. But when the play happened, I
thought I'm gonna be out for a year, you know.
So I'm just happy that to two games later, I'm back.
All right. So you have, Okay, most significant injury you've
(07:41):
suffered in your career was what? All right? That was it?
All right? So first game back? What was game number two? Like,
I never came back from it. That's it. I'll give
you a significant injury that I came back from. What
I always jacked up. I split my cartilage. I never
had any real crazy injuries other than I just kept
(08:02):
splitting my cartilage. And so when you split your cartilage,
that just really it's weird because it makes your knee
flare up. And when your knee flares up, if you
understand like the mechanics of how your body works and
how it moves, um, it's hard to move that fluid
around and that's swelling. So you're you become like a
(08:23):
It's kind of like what Janice is dealing with right now. Right, So, um,
what does it feel like? You don't and and it
looked like this is what Janice felt like last evening.
You don't have confidence. You know, there's not a there's
not a tremendous level of confidence in in that knee
(08:45):
when your first back, and whether it's because one of
the muscles, you know, the quad may not be firing
as much as you like for it to be firing,
maybe the calf muscle. You know, maybe your back is overcompensating,
maybe your hip is. But there's overcompensating because you don't
fully trust the usage of the knee. And so it
(09:10):
ultimately has to become more and more of you getting
the confidence back of being able to explode off of it,
to be able to cut off of it, um to
deal with some of the pain that's connected that's still there. Uh,
there's just a few things that you have to go through.
Because I wonder, so he comes back for this game,
(09:32):
and I don't think they were going to put him
in harm's way because you've also got to think about
the future. So if there was really something significant that
was going on with him that that I I don't
think they would have put him in danger of doing
more damage by putting him out there in that game.
But I do wonder because I think the assumption is
on the outside, we're watching this guy playing, all right,
(09:53):
well he's back for game one. Uh, you know, he's
just going to continue to get better throughout the course
of the series. And I don't know that that's the case.
It's probably not. Yeah, Like I wonder, all right, how
sore is he going to be, because it's not like
you've got extended time off. I mean, they've got one
day off and then he's gonna have to be right
back for game two. I just I wonder what he's
(10:14):
feeling like today giving it a go on that knee,
which clearly isn't a hundred percent That ben completely the
wrong way, and I wonder. I'm fascinated to see how
he looks game too. Yeah, I mean I think I
think if you're paying attention, that should be your natural
thought process is how can he play and how will
it look as he moves throughout the series. Now, I
(10:37):
will say this, the more encouraging aspect of him playing
yesterday says, what kind of what you say is that
you don't feel like he's going to reinjure it. You
felt confident enough to let him actually go out there
and try it in game one, and he had significant points,
he had significant influence. It just wasn't a fully healthy Joannice.
(11:01):
So I think the bigger question here is your best.
Your best is when you're not at your best. That's
when you can prove how how much your worth is you.
You should generally play your best games when you don't
feel well or when something's out of balance, because that's
(11:22):
when your focus has to be at its highest. And
so for Joannice where he's at right now, he has
to figure out how he can be the most effective
player and still one of the best players in the series.
Far from probably, I'd say far like probably in the
seventies in terms of percentage. Maybe he might be touching
(11:44):
the eighties, but sevent health wise, he has to be
as good as he is or better when he's in
the ent. Nobody's ever so low nineties, mid nineties. If
he's in somewhere and around the the mid to late seventies,
two eighties to all of the eighties being in play
(12:05):
percentage wise as to how he feels physically, he has
to figure out how to be dominant. He can solidify
his his startom and become really a mega superstar if
he can figure out a way to do that in
this series. But we're gonna have to wait and see.
I mean, he did some cool things. He had the
nice little defensive block. He had some some really good
(12:26):
plays getting to the rim. But you can tell he
at like what seven foot like how tall is he?
Like six ten, six eleven. He was barely getting his
dunks in, Yeah, like barely making it. I would just
be I would be completely apparent. I've suffered. I've suffered
one one injury. It was a dislocated kneecap and some
uh you know, torn ligaments and just some damage there.
(12:50):
And look to this day, I still in the back
of my mind when I'm you know, like jumping off. Yeah,
it's just like, all right, is this thing goingna, we
gonna end up next to my cafe again? Like and
and look, that's you know, he's like I can't imagine
that he's just not even thinking about landing on that.
Like it's it's like that's still got to be in
the back of your mind. Like a couple of times too,
(13:12):
like he showed like he went a few times, like
you could tell it bothered him at times. So you know,
there's also this thing. I don't know if they do
this in the NBA, I don't know they really are
doing it very much these days. But toward all shots,
it's just saying, y'all, I won't go any deeper than that,
(13:32):
but I'll tell you you can get through it. You
you can limp into the locker room and once you
get your tord all shot, you turned into Superman literally
with the Cape. Yeah, man, Brady Quinn has told me
that for that four hours man oh man, But that
afterwards it is like a highs and then you shot. Yeah.
(13:54):
So it's yeah, it's like you know, hard Booze, it's
a it's a whole another level. He is airing. I'm
Jonas Knox. This is I'll kick the coverage here on
Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next here on FS are
uh there is a a player speaking on behalf of
another player in the NFL and the details of the
(14:16):
discussion are very very interesting. We'll have that for you
next here I'll kick the coverage Fox Sports Radio. This
this is I'll kick the coverage. I'm telling you. One
of them had a boom box. One of them, Crows,
had a boom box and was playing this on God.
They had a boom box and it was like sixteen switches,
(14:38):
and I could have sworn I even had a little
like crow, you know, with sixteen, which was six six witches.
I mean, but look at the the the raven is
really the I mean, that's the one even in the
mess with right. I mean, I don't know the difference.
I think that the feathers, the tail feathers are shaped
differently and that's the difference. But would be all I
(15:01):
know is bro they was they was set tripping them.
Crows was set tripping man. Listen, he is a he
is LaVar Arrington. I'm Jonas Knox. This man knows more
about birds than anybody ever might have a weird little infatuation.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, Ivy. There's there's
worse infatuations to have. Um, you know, there's a lot
of people out there that have real infatuations with stuff
(15:23):
that are very disturbing. You just we started off with bat.
That's that's what got the whole flying going. Yeah, there
was a bat reportedly in studio here yesterday, although some
of the some of the details are sparse. We're still
trying to find out whether or not it was an
actual bat. I'm a little skeptical, but you know, if
it makes a story better, we'll say it was a
bad Yeah, it just could have been a bird, could
(15:45):
have been could have could have been a locust, Yeah
that's yeah, definitely, could have been a mosquito or let
me tell you something, butterfly. Yeah, it could have it
could have been, uh, you know, a roach, you know,
roaches fly. I'm telling you this right now, Danny. If
it was a locust the size of a bat, I'm
(16:05):
out of here right. I have no interest in that.
You know, the cicadas are out on Cicada can kiss
my ass. I want no part of the cicada that
looks like a bat. I'm not I'll deal with the bat.
I don't want something that looks like a LaVar. Guest
hosted on The DP Show yesterday morning with j Mack
Jason McIntyre. And when Jason McIntyre first got here, you know,
(16:28):
I was cleaning out my production space here, uh to
get ready to for the Dan Patrick Show to start,
and j Mack we were telling him, yeah, we haven't
seen any bat in there, and he's like, well, I
got an email from Scott and yeah, bat, I'm just
gonna go with the email, all right, So I'm gonna
stay in your guys studio over there a bat. If
(16:50):
the bat came out right now and flew across this room,
what would you do? Throw my coffee at it? I
told you, like, I'll throw the coffee at Bill. Like
that's scary because you're gonna burn me trying to burn it,
Like because it knows moments you're not even thinking about
where you're doing it. You're so say that that comes
and it's in my direction and you go to throw
(17:12):
the copy of it, you're gonna burn, Okay, So then
I want to there's a stapler there and if anybody's
ever seen the end of a rachnophobia, you know, he
brings out that nail gun. All right, so I'm not
trying to but they're not going to the staples aren't
gonna fly out the way that the gun, I know.
But but if if, if, if you can corner it,
because you do have experience capturing bats, if you can
(17:34):
corner it, we can staple that thing to the wall.
So I had, and then I'm playing together. Though, here's
my plan right here. Just put your hood on. I'm
putting my hood on. I'm putting my hands in my
in my pouch. And this is how I'm gonna be
doing the show, just like I'll be doing the show
just like this. I'm gonna be doing the show. Why
the bat flies around? You know why? Because the show
(17:57):
must go back. Yeah, that's how it has to go
um all right. So but best believe I'd be plotting
on him, though, I would be plotting on that bat,
and I would try to save him first, I really would.
But if it came down to it, because I'm thinking
rabies and all that stuff, if it came down to it,
(18:19):
and I hope you can hear me, bat, I'll off him. Yeah, yeah,
will off him. Look, if nobody wants nobody wants this
this duty, nobody wants these chores. But sometimes things have
to be done. You have to. You have to make
some sacrifices and and and get stuff done. And if
that back gets in the way of us finishing off
this ship, bat has to go s done. Deal. And
(18:42):
I got DIBs on that stapler. And there's enough sanitizer
in here that that we'll be able to clean everything up.
They got a microwave to you know, we'll just kind
of we'll cook up. We'll have some bat you know
what I mean. There's been uh hey we said Batman
came from the bat Vincent. Uh yeah, let me know. Look, disclaimer,
(19:05):
that's the weird That is not our but we're just
saying allegedly that is the case. Um, all right, Can
I throw a theory at you. Aaron Rodgers already knows
whether or not he's showing up to camp, does he
or do you think that he's still kind of playing
it out to see how the packers behave up until then.
I think he knows what he's going okay, and so
(19:26):
so he'll be at camp in the expectation he will
be here and ready to go for the Green Bay
Packers week one. Yes, Okay. Do you think that there's
anybody around him, meaning like Matt Laflour or or teammates
that also know that he's going to be there or
(19:47):
is he kept everybody in in in the dark when
it comes to whether or not he's going to show up. Now,
he's not kept everybody in the dark because you have
some people to people I would assume like Aaron Jones
and the Vanta and you know certain lineman. You know,
quarterbacks are very close to their lineman besties. Yeah, so
(20:07):
David and all them. Yeah, those guys, the guys that
are going to be there and that have been there
for him, they whatever it is that's going on, they
know what's going on, all right. So I believe that
there's somebody else who knows what Aaron Rodgers intentions are, right,
it is somebody in the NFL, somebody, somebody who's not somebody, somebody,
(20:32):
somebody who is not a member of the Green Bay Packers.
But there's a player in the NFL that knows the
intentions and the plans of Aaron Rodgers. We're going to
get to that next here on out kicked the coverage
here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in we will
call it fifteen minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio.
There is also another team in the NFL. They're very
(20:55):
high on the upcoming season, very looking forward to the
upcoming season. But is should we be skeptical of this
upcoming season for this team of the We'll have that
for here coming up fifteen minutes from now are you
talking about I believe Tom Brady knows that Aaron Rodgers
is coming back. I knew you were talking about Tom
(21:17):
right because why would he feel comfortable enough to joke
as many times as openly as he has been unless
he's gotten some sort of a green light from Aaron
Rodgers that hey man, it's fine, you can do whatever
you want. I don't care like especially Aaron Rodgers, who
seems a little bit sensitive at times, like the fact
(21:38):
that Tom Brady is making jokes the way that he is.
In fact, this was Tom Brady uh courtesy of the
match on t NT Rob Gronkowski. They actually called him
during the broadcast UM and so Tom Brady, uh and
and Gronkowski were making jokes back and forth. But here
was Tom yesterday courtesy at t NT. What's up time?
You always have a great supporting class around you, you know,
(22:00):
like that, Bobby? Are you? Are you? What you are?
You're not? I hope we're not at the beach too much.
You're ready to go, aren't you? I mean we're we're
getting We're going here in three weeks. I know, my guy,
we're ready. I mean, I'm wondering if you're ready. You
missed all of lt golfing now, I haven't. You haven't
seen to do anything. I've been just training, getting ready
to catching football. I'm studying my competition. I'm thirty yards
(22:21):
away from Aaron, who's you know, the leader of the Packers.
I think, uh, you know, so I'm gonna be I'm
just watching his majorisms. I'm studying. I'm I'm highly recruiting
a little bit. Just hey, you're studying the wrong guy. Man.
Aaron lives more lady now than I did in retirement.
Aarons here at all this, but feel free to check
in there talking about my quarterback. Say what did you say? Drunk?
(22:47):
So okay, there's no way that they're having is much
fun at Aaron Rodgers expense unless they know what's really
going on? Like there, there has to have been a conversation,
because this is the first time Brady's made jokes. I
mean all leading up into the match, the trash talk,
Brady's you know, poked fun at the fact that they
(23:07):
elected to kick a field goal in the NFC title
game late as opposed to, you know, letting Aaron Rodgers
go for it, like all of this stuff that is
being done, Brady's not doing that, especially because he was
just in that spot a year earlier in which he
was deciding on his future and what he wanted to do,
and he's been where Aaron's at with the organization and
(23:28):
been frustrated. I just I think Brady knows Rogers is
coming back, and that's why he feels like he's comfortable
enough to be able to make jokes about it. I mean,
why would you why would you do all of these
things this offseason if you weren't coming back to play.
For one, that's number one, But then number two, where
are you going to go be the leader and have
(23:52):
what you want take place at this point in time?
Where are you going kind of late in the game,
where are you going? Yeah, Denver dead in the water.
If you ask me, I don't think Denver is it.
Denver is the team. When it comes to the betting odds,
they say Denver is outside of green Bay. The most
likely a scenario for for Aaron Rodgers if a oh,
(24:16):
I mean, look if Denver got if he ends up
on Denver, just hypothetically speaking, that division is bananas because
then you're gonna have Rogers, Mahomes, Twus, Herbert Derek Carr.
Say whatever you want about Derek Carr, mean, he's capable
of playing good football like that, that division would be bananas.
(24:37):
But I just I don't. I don't see it happening.
I don't think he's gonna end up anywhere other than
Green Bay when it comes to training camp, and so
the circus is going to be in town all the
all the media cover you know this stuff where you've
worked in TV long enough, when they're trying to decide
where they're going to send extra reporters from any given network,
they're they're looking at all, right, one of the best storylines,
(24:59):
and usually the Alice Cowboys have something going on. There's
some sort of I mean, look, when when Zeke was
trying to get his contract and he was hiding out
in Cabo and then at the same time you had
a Dak Prescott's contract potentially getting done. Everybody was an Oxnard.
Everybody was an ox SNRD covering the Dallas Cowboys. Everybody's
(25:19):
going to be in Green Bay this training camp covering
the Packers because they're gonna want to know, Hey, so
why was this offseason so weird? Who do you have
an issue with? Is it? Marco doesn't answer questions the
point he answers questions without answering the question. That's that
is Aaron Rodgers brilliance and and and and people continue
(25:40):
to ask the questions, and he continues to play coy
that's his deal. And he gets annoyed. He acts like
he gets annoyed. It's like again, I mean, I just
think he enjoys being mysterious as he is two people. Yeah,
I just think that that's his thing. Well, there's a
(26:03):
lot of people that will do a comparison between him
and Cutler and that they're very loose sort of, and
I think different He isn't as far away like Cutler.
You just look at him like, bro, like are you there? Yeah? Well,
and and also I think Cutler legitimately doesn't care what
anybody thinks about him. I think Aaron Rodgers does to
a certain too. Soon think Cutler chairs. I just think
(26:27):
that Cutler's look and the way he handles things. The
way he did handle things, it was just like pull
out like the little flashlight, look into his eyes, you know,
different things like like check his vitals, like is he alive?
You know, are you alive? Bro? Are you okay? Where Aaron?
(26:49):
It's like you're looking at Aaron and you're like, he's
smarter than me, you know what I mean? Like it's
like it's not like you're looking at him like is
your spirit in your body? Like are you are you
a zombie? Or are you like a living person? When
you're with Aaron Rodgers, it's like Aaron is smarter. So
(27:11):
now you're dealing with somebody who is just basically cleverly
and and it's RoCE. It's the arrogance of him knowing it.
And that is not comparable to Jake Cutler, because Jay Cutler,
You're like, now, he ain't smarter than me. He's definitely
not smarter than like, yeah, like are you okay? Like
(27:33):
you're gonna ask Jay Cutler, are you okay? Aaron Rodgers,
You're just like you're walking away, like you know what,
I'm so over trying to get something. It's like you
do the interview and answer the questions that Aaron, are
you planning on coming back? Well, they say that you're
not coming back, that you're planning on going somewhere. Data
(27:53):
di datta die. And you're trying to answer the questions
for him because he's not giving you anything. So the
reports end up being what it is that did you
confirm what I said to you? Yeah? Yeah? And I
also like this idea that I wonder if if he
if his plan is I'll take some because you mentioned
(28:17):
he wants an off season, all right, so so he
wants an offseason. He's enjoying his off season. He's doing
his thing. I I just like, what what's the end game?
Like he's gonna come out and play and he's gonna play. Well,
see the end the end game was when he did
when he was pulling and doing what he was doing before.
(28:38):
The end game was Jordan loves gonna come in. We
got a new coach. He's gonna end up taking your job.
But this man plays out of his brain. Gets an
m v P Award one game away, removed from the
super Bowl for the consecutive time, So now what can
you say? What can you do? And taking the consideration
(28:59):
we heard in love Jordan loved Jordan, loved George loved
Jordan love. We get the preseason, It's like we have
not heard anything else any more about Jordan's love. And
if Jordan's love was as good as people, maybe we're
prognosticating he was. When he got drafted and everybody thought
(29:21):
that the beef and the drama was coming down, It's like, oh,
you thought this was my replacement. This it's who you
left me for? Right? You remember? You remember when you
remember when what was his name? What was Hector's brother's name?
I don't even barely be remembering because he ain't even important.
(29:43):
You remember when he was losing the fight to the Trojans,
Do you remember he looked up to Helen like, this
is who you left me for? Anyways, forgive Mercedes or
something like that. I don't know. He sees, he sees
have been practice, he knows this guy. I got nothing
(30:04):
to work like? This, ain't it? Yeah? This ain't it?
So now now if you thought I was flagrant last year,
wait till we get to this offseason. I'm not dealing
with y'all at all because there is no solution seemingly
insight for Aaron Rodgers. I can dictate now. I got
(30:24):
the I got the loyalties of at least half of
the fan base. I have credibility because I just won
an m VP Award and on one game removed from
the Super Bowl, and that team won the Super Bowl
that beat us. So you're basically saying I lost to
(30:45):
the best team in the league that year and to
two NFC title games in a row. That's his resume
is pimped out, bro, He's LaVar Arrington, I'm Jonas Knocks.
This is I'll kicked the coverage here on Fox sport
Trading coming up. Now, there's a there's a lot of
high hopes for one team in the NFL, and I
have no idea why the confidence level is this high.
(31:08):
We will get into all that for you. Here. It
is out kicked the coverage, LaVar Arrington, Jones knocks and
you next year on FS are best. What do you
have to me? This is outkicked the coverage. What's up? Everyone?
(31:32):
It's me three times NFL all pro Shawn Marie and
I have a new sports podcast called The lights Out
Podcast with Sean Marine. This podcast especial to me is
I get a chance to talk to some of the
best we've ever done it on the field or the trap.
So whether it's talking to a super Bowl champion or
a NASCAR Cup Series champion, the Lights Out Podcast will
bring it to you the only way I know how to.
(31:53):
I'm giving you the best insight from the best we've
ever done it. Listen to Lights Out with Shawn Marion
all the I Heart Radio app whever you get your podcast.
Who said that? Who did that? We did that? We
did a show for three hours and it's almost over.
That was my freestyle for the morning. Okay, now it's
back to you and got it. And now you have
to sit in three hours of traffic. And that's why
(32:16):
I'm getting my freestyle together. I'm gonna be freestyling to myself.
No no, no, no, no. Uh you gotta rend a
helicopter flying a two and get to get back to
get back home. No helicopters for me these days. Yeah,
I uh listen, I haven't. I don't know the last
time I've even been on a flight. Trying to think
the last time I was on a flight. I've been flying.
(32:38):
I think I flew last night. I really not, but
but I kind of Miami. I think it was Super
Bowl in Miami. That's the last time was on flights. Yeah.
I didn't even go to the super Bowl this year. Yeah, well,
I wanted to, but I didn't want to too much.
Too many cooties floating around, there's a lot going around. Um,
(33:00):
he is LaVar Arrington, I'm Jonas knox Is. I'll kick
the coverage here on Fox Sports Radio. So we will
be back tomorrow. LaVar Breave Quinn will be with us. So,
I mean, just the the amount of testosterone that's that's
going to be in the house with with YouTube YouTube
juice heads. I'm gonna I'm telling you right now, I'm
going on p E d S the second the show
(33:20):
goes off the airds and I'm gonna get jacked for
the show tomorrow. So I don't feel any more insecure
about myself around these two guys. So that would be
a lot of fun. We'll have plenty to discuss Game
two of the NBA Finals preview. Also NFL college football. Uh,
it'll be a good conversation to have. Here's what I
(33:40):
want to ask you about all the Cleveland Browns. All right,
for the past however, many years have been a bad
team and dysfunctional and everything that goes along with it.
Yet all I keep hearing after one decent season for
the clear Eveland Brown's LaVar last year is oh, it's
(34:03):
going to be a special year, and people are looking
at the roster and people are really high on the
Cleveland Browns and they're really so we're just gonna forget
about all that we know about the organization all those
years prior, and we're just gonna say, oh, yeah, the
Cleveland Browns will be fine. Everything's gonna be fine, Like
they have now turned the corner and they're gonna be
a team to reckon with in the a f C.
(34:23):
Well they did when back when Marty was coaching them
and they had earned his biner and you know t J.
Slaughter and Eric Metcalf, t J. Slaughter however, not t J.
Slaughter Western Slaughter. YEA J. Was a linebacker that came
out in my draft shots out to my man t J.
H Bernie Bernie Kozar. So they have had a time
(34:44):
where they were competitive. They will be competitive this year.
They certainly will be competitive. They have a ton of talent.
You know, the biggest factor super quickly is it's basically Baker's.
His confidence went up because they did make that playoff
run based off of Baker throwing the ball. They made
it off of their running game, attitude, headed monster in
(35:05):
that backfield. But once they got to the playoffs, you
saw baker mayfields play elevate. It started to he started
to go to a different place and a different level
of confidence in the playoffs. I think that level of
confidence is going to carry on. It carried over probably
into this offseason, is going to carry over into the next,
(35:26):
into the next, this next football season, and you get
O'Dell Beckham back. He's got a ton to prove, but
he also has to fit in because this is probably
his last chance. Jonas, so to me, you gotta personnel wise.
You got a nice defense, you got a premier guy,
premier pass Russia and Garrett, and on offense, you got
a slew of talent on that side of the field.
(35:50):
They should be a truly dangerous team. And the good
thing is, at least you're not gonna have to worry
about well, you know, if we were just surround Baker
with some more happens, you know, then we could find
out that they're gonna know this year whether or not
he's the guy, Like they're gonna know this year whether
or not Baker Mayfield really is the guy, just based
on they did have success last year. The game against Pittsburgh,
(36:14):
the playoff game was I mean, Pittsburgh kind of gave
him the game. They spotted him so never recovered. They
couldn't get they couldn't get beyond that. And I don't
know how good Pittsburgh will be this year. And I'm
a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan, so that's a lot of
people are mad at me that you you talked about
me having on a Raiders hat. But it's all right,
it's all right. I don't care. Alright, I don't listen. Listen,
(36:36):
you're if you were in a Steeler at right now,
the colors wouldn't match yet. So you're matching, and that's
the most important thing that is true. But you know
what else is matching The confidence and the personnel in
Cleveland that's matching. There. It looks as though, I mean,
it looks as though Cincinnati may improve it. If Joe
Burrow comes back, they gave him, brought him in some weapon. Uh.
(36:58):
I thought they should have built their offensive line because
of the ANFC North is a very very it can
be a tragic place to live. But but I almost
feel as though this is gonna be a Cleveland Baltimore year.
Have they figured out Lamar? You know, I want to
see if Lamar Jackson can still be Lamar Jackson year three.
(37:20):
R three was a killer in year one, r G
three was somewhat something after that and then it just
he fell off a cliff. And I think a lot
of people are wondering if this whole set up with
Lamar Jackson can continue on? Can he continue to elevate?
But that's gonna be to me, in my opinion, that's
(37:41):
going to be a two team race this year. Cleveland's
gonna be one. You think Cleveland and Baltimore. Wow? How
about that? So, so a little little teaser ahead. So
for you as Steeler fans, LaVar Arrington, who still claims
to be a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, so so not only
is he wearing a Raider hat, but you have just
officially announced that the Pittsburgh's dealers, Ben On said, I
(38:01):
don't know are dead. I don't know. I didn't say
they're dead dead, but but they ain't. They ain't all
the way alive. They might be in hospice here. Now, Hey,
what do you like? The Steelers are eleven and o
at one point last yea. I mean, hey, listen, listen.
They they added where they needed to add it at
(38:22):
two in their backfield. But I'm not I'm not a
buyer on the offensive front. Like Pouncey is a big
that's a big one to have to replace. And I'm
not a and I'm not a buyer. I'm not a
buyer yet. On if Ben can lead this team, and
if Ben can't lead the team, is Dwayne Haskins going
(38:43):
to grow up in front of our eyes in Pittsburgh.
I just don't know. I don't know what what what that?
Those are two very important pieces. Well, I do think
it's the perfect landing spot for Dwayne Haskins. And a
lot of people would say, why is there an opportunity
for him to play? Is it a good culture? No,
it's the fact that Dwayne hask who missed the final
play of a game because he was taking a selfie
(39:03):
with a fan. That's a true story. I mean, if
there was any team that you would want to pair
him with, it would be uh Timmy TikTok Juju Smith Schuster.
So at least he's gotten TikTok videos and that he's
got to look forward to when it comes to that.
At hind speed, the Hell's happen to your Pittsburgh Steelers? Unbelievable?
(39:24):
All right, sound at the end of the show. Listen,
this has been a fun show. We did not see
a bat, but we did see LaVar Arrington, and we
did see you, and we will see all of you
tomorrow for Eddie, for Danny g for Roberto. It's out
kicked the coverage back tomorrow as
