Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the best of two pros and a couple
Joe with Lamar airings and rating Win and Jonas Knots
on radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
How the hell we feel here on a Friday morning.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
I mean pretty good.
Speaker 4 (00:16):
I mean, we got the weekend coming up, a lot
of big trip next week, and we allowed to talk
about this yet.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I mean, I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I mean, I'm I'm going to be the.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Nod of approval from one lead to lap that we
are allowed to talk about I don't know.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
So do you want to break this down? Then? All right?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
So apparently rumor has it and why we got to
be careful because I don't want to say anything that
would get us dumped, because this is the portion of
the show which we got to walk on eggshells here
with Iowa stand behind the scenes, which, by the way,
people were outraged yesterday that you went to the red
light district. I just want to point that out. People
were very upset at how that whole thing broke.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Down, but that I did or Iowa Sam did.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
That you went, you taken to the red light district
by Iowa Sam.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
For what I said when I said someone's name, I
was a little bit surprised by that.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Yeah, they were outraged, right and made I point out
that was in all caps outraged and highlighted because of
what Iowa Sam did. But again, that's neither here nor there.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
So we.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Broadcasting next week on Thursday and Friday live from Dublin, Ireland. Yeah,
so we are going to be out with that and
we'll have more details on where we'll be at and
just sort of everybody that's going to be partaking in
the show and all that. But we're going to be
out there. We're going to be able to go see
(01:42):
Notre Dame and Navy as well too. I mean a
lot of people have been shouting Navy plus twenty. I
don't even know what that means. I'm not even sure
what they're getting at there.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
But why would we ask you?
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Why wouldn't we asked our resident gambling expert from Iowa.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Geez, what come on? I mean, they do one crop
circle in the shape of a video poker machine and
you got to crack jokes at them. That's that's uncalled for. Sam.
I apologize that you guys have been given a stigma
of degenerate gamblers.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
I didn't hear what he said.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
That's okay, but we are going to be out there
broadcasting live from Dublin, Ireland. It's gonna be a phenomenal time.
And again we're gonna have details on everybody that's going
to be joining us, where we'll be at, how you
can take part in it and listen and have fun
with us there. So I've never been anywhere outside of
North America, so I have no idea what to expect.
(02:36):
But you tell me nothing but good things about the
great place that is Dublin, Ireland. I've only been to Dublin, Ohio,
so I'm assuming they're just basically the same thing. That
is that the correct assumption.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
That'd be way off. I mean, there are some similarities,
but that would be way off.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
No, it's a really really cool place, some of the
nicest folks in the world. You're actually gonna drink a
Guinness and it's gonna saste entirely different. There's just there's
a ton of things, but I don't exactly know. I mean,
there's there's the whole factory there. You can go through
the tour. It's pretty intense. I mean, they take you
through the brewing process and by the end of the
(03:13):
tour you're like Okay, I get it now. I understand
why it's so special. I think there's there's probably two reasons.
I don't know how well it travels, you know, once
it's in a bottle or it can I think that's
part of it. I think that's also probably the water.
I've learned this recently from a mile in Shorty event.
We actually had a beer pong event at a brewery.
(03:36):
They call it actually a brew's stillery because it's a
brewery slash distillery.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Anyway, they talked.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
A lot about how the history behind making beer and
how stouts, which is what Guinness is, is traditionally made
in areas that has hard water.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
And you have hard water when you're on an island
like you are in Ireland, and so it's more mineral dns.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
And so that's why you make a better stout when
you have you know, more minerally type water hard water
when you come from a place like Ireland. So anyway,
I think that kind of you know, probably plays a
factor into it as well.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
But again I think it's the way it travels probably.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
Spoiler alert, Brady, I'm going on this tour, what day
should I go by the way?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
I would I don't know, Lee, I mean.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Like, right when don't we get off the planet a Lee,
right in the middle of the show. Just we'll just
do phone in from there and see how many years.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I mean, Lee, you're such a wildcard.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
I have no idea because in my head I'm playing
out like, all right, Lee's get it one. At least
a few beers at the very top, that's what you
That's where you finish the tour. So you get a
whole look at Dublin as you look around at this
like this rooftop bar.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
That's what I'm just looking forward to. Is I hear
that's the best view of Dublin.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
It is.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
It's awesome. It's awesome. I would tell you to do
it right when you get in. So obviously you checked
that off the list. But I'm also a little bit
worried about you've been absolutely banged up coming in Thursday. Like,
if that's how you're starting the trip, I'm curious to
see how how you get to the actual day we
have to do a radio show.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Yeah, I'm going to set the pay strong man.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
One of the things that's going to be a benefit
to us though, is that when you start this show
at three in the morning Pacific time. It makes it
a little bit difficult to get banged up during the
week or on work nights, but out there at eleven am.
So now you've given Lee an eight hour runway to
just roll. He can. He'll figure something. And I have
(05:33):
no idea what that's going to look like.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
He's going to be producing this show sideways.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
It's going to be it is going to be a
wild time. And so just to thank what that could
turn into. And the fact that we are going to
be doing the show live from a bar, and the
fact that we are going to be out there and
partaking and hanging out with the people there live from
a bar. While this is all going on, the excitement,
(05:59):
people have been reaching out, I.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Did you hear like LeVar is gonna do an Irish
jig he knows how to do, like the Irish dancing,
Irish step dancing.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
What exactly is an Irish jig?
Speaker 4 (06:08):
It's like it's it's a type of dancing, it's a
you know, it's a lot of footwork. Okay, he says
he can do it, So I know he's not on
the show today, but he said he can do it.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
So when we're Busker's Bar and somebody shouts out, LaVar,
give us an Irish jig. He'll know immediately what to do.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Yeah, he will know a Irish jig, he will, yes,
he will know how to do one of those.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah. So, by the way, and if anybody is in
the Dublin area and you happen to be passing by
Busker's Bar on Thursday and Friday, there it is in
between the hours of eleven am to two pm local time.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yep, you can picture them now. Can you picture him?
Light on his feet, just kind of like fluttering his
feet a little bit.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh my god, you should You should see Iowa Sam
dancing to this song.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
He's doing it right now. He knew I bet Irish
Sam can do it a little jig?
Speaker 5 (06:56):
How am atle Irish?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Here?
Speaker 2 (06:59):
He looks like one of the Christmas decorations, one of
those inflatable Christmas decorations, playing the violin silk.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
The big artists come on, Oh wow, I got ruined it.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
I think it's what Brady used to say to USC
fans as he was walking walking off the field. But nonetheless,
it's going to be a lot of fun Buskers Bar
next Thursday Friday we get out there. The travel is
something I've never experienced in my life, so I'm not
sure how the time change is going to work and
all that.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
We've already gone over this. You're going direct, so you're lucky.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I don't have that. I don't have that opportunity. What
do you mean?
Speaker 4 (07:34):
So it's just when you travel in general, let alone internationally,
you want to eliminate as many stops as as you can,
Like you want to be able to get onto a
plane and get from point A to point B if
you can.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
I don't have that luxury because.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
They don't have the directs from Miami anymore, so I
have to have a stop, which it could get interesting
on the way there.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
So they've got everything else that you could possibly want
or imagine in Miami except for direct flights to Dublin, Ireland.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Apparently that at least on their at least on the
airline that we're going on.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Okay, well, I mean it's going to be a blast.
We're looking forward to it. Hopefully you'll be along for
the ride. You the listener, can come along, hang out
with us, and we'll all do this thing together next
Thursday Friday, So that'll be that'll be a fun ride
for everybody involved. So looking forward to that, we should
probably at some point mentioned last night there was a
preseason game that ended.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, I mean this the game next week that we're
going to probably won't end it time.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
It's I know it won't.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
So yeah. So this game ended in a tie last night,
the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles, and there was
a few players that got banged up. Now, majority of
the starters did not play. It was just rotational guys.
But we'll keep you posting on just sort of the
updates and status of all those guys when we have
that or if that comes out later on this morning.
(08:59):
But we did do some unders on that game last night,
because why wouldn't we. I mean, we figured we're so
inspired by Kirk Farns and the great State of Iowa
and just their their free spirit when it comes to gambling,
that we thought, why don't we do some over unders
on an NFL preseason game. So lead to lap. We've
got the results from last night's over unders for the
(09:19):
preseason game. What are we looking at?
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Oh, you bet you.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
So we had an eighteen eighteen tie, which was just fantastic,
But the over under was set at thirty eight and
a half. Oh but Jonas and Brady you both got that.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
You both to do under.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
All right, Now you know who gets a blame for that,
cad York. And let me tell you something. The Browns
have a Cade York problem. Brady, you got to start
making some calls. It feels like if there's something that
could get in the way from them potentially being a threat. Yeah,
they got a problem. He so he missed an attempt
(09:56):
as a go ahead. It was the go ahead lead
late in the fourth quarter, which would have hit the over.
There was a penalty, moved it up, and then still
missed the second attempt. So not ideal for Kaide York
and the Cleveland Browns. So, but at least we did
win that and LeVar is not he maybe this is
why LeVar didn't show up today.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Maybe that's one. Yeah, maybe that starts so far for LaVar.
Speaker 6 (10:16):
So, guys, we had asked passing touchdowns for DTR Dorian
Thompson Robinson.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
He had zero.
Speaker 6 (10:23):
He hit the under on that one. Everybody had taken
the over, So bad job by everybody on that.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
He didn't He played alright, thank you, step Blockulaid. By
the way, he lit up a dB for the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Because Okay, I'll save my next comment for the next bet,
because I know where we're going with this, all right, Lee,
what's the next one?
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Next one up?
Speaker 6 (10:43):
We had Marcus Mariota rushing yards nine and a half.
Some some bullishness from some people on this one, but
Jonas actually took the under.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
He only had one rushing attempt for five yards.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I like Mariota a lot. It feels like we're coming
up towards the end though.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Well, what bothered me about like watching him last night
is he didn't see him like he was really exhausting
his full capability, like it's preseason. He's a veteran guy,
he knows it. He doesn't want to take off, run
and get hurt. And I'm a bit surprised by that.
I mean, they drafted Tanner McKee and he was looked good.
(11:20):
He looked pretty good last night.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
He got booed by Philly fans. Did Marcus marioa that
want to show you the level of careness in Philly
as opposed to some other places around the league.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
And if he was a cleve I he played like
that they would have booted him too.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Yes, I mean in Chicago, with the history at quarterback
they've got there, they would have built a statue for him.
So all right, Lee, what else we got?
Speaker 6 (11:43):
I'm gonna circle back to number four. First, I'm gonna
jump to number five. Which team is penalized more? The
Eagles are the Browns? Browns were penalized eight times for
seventy six yards some more yards, but actually the Eagles
were penalized more eleven times fifty five yards. So the
Eagles were penalized more. Jonas correctly predicted that, we got to.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
Make that more clear, and yeah, because that's not how
I'd look at that.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
What would you look at it as?
Speaker 4 (12:06):
I would say the Browns were penalized more than more yards.
That's what's more penal So.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
If there was like one pass interference.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Yes, and they had for more yards, it was more
penal to them. Yeah hmm, I mean, I mean, I
realize how we're doing this like we wanted to do
it in the first segment because LeVar is not here,
we're leaning towards Jonah's winning. This is one that's one
hundred percent debatable. Like if you if you looked at
(12:36):
in a meeting room after a Sunday game.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
You wouldn't care if you had twelve penalties.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
And it was for sixty yards, right, like you care
how many yards of penalties you actually took away from yourself.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Man, it's a lot of infractions.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
Though you'd probably look at like what first downs that
are given up?
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Do you have penalty kind of thing?
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah? I feel like just like the total yards.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
I mean, especially like ones that are painful like that.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yeah, I don't know. I mean, look a parking ticket,
maybe fifty bucks.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Right, Well, let's go to number four because that's a
little bit debatable. So I think I know where this
one's adding up to. So let's say Jonas doesn't get
that rightly, what's the count?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Then? Well?
Speaker 6 (13:12):
LeVar made me look like a foo last night by
saying none of the above. On this one, we asked
about landmarks that we would see first in the broadcast.
Would it be Rocky Statue, Liberty Bell, or either Gino's
or Pats?
Speaker 5 (13:24):
Did you see Pats?
Speaker 6 (13:25):
Because I went through the whole broadcast, I did not
see any of these.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
I didn't see any either.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I was more, I'll be honest with you, I was
more I was a little shook because I was listening
to the great job Ross Tucker was doing on NFL Network,
and it just he didn't strike me as the type
of guy who deserves to be assaulted by LeVar Arrington
when he's a rookie like that. That was my big takeaway.
But again, some people take different things from preseason games,
and maybe I'm just on an island here.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
I love Ross.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Ross's you know he at Ivy League offensive lineman. Yeah,
my Awn glest Ivy League offensive line day kind of
a similar cadence. The way they talk and just how
they deliver information. So he's always reminded me of my uncle,
who had a big.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Influence on my life.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
So love Ross talker.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Yeah so wait, no one got that one right. Number four?
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Yeah, well so so hold on, Lee, Is it a push?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Then it depended on the penalty one. Is that what
we're saying?
Speaker 4 (14:16):
And then obviously Jonas is trying to lobby you into
making it what he wants.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
If you were to go from my stance, I would
say it was a push on the Well, LeVar demanded
that none of the above because he's the rainy chance
he got right from last season, So yeah, he took
that one, which I'm against the whole none of the.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Above, but I'll give it to him.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
And then are we saying a push on the on
the penalties or no, we can't say push.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
We gotta here's my argument if I.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Got But here's what's on the line. If Jonahs gets
a right, does he win?
Speaker 6 (14:51):
Lee, Well, we're establishing ground rules for the rest of
the seasons.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
That's correct. But if Jonas gets a right, does he win?
Speaker 5 (14:58):
He is gonna win either way.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Okay, it doesn't matter, but we should still establish ground
all right.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
So here here's my argument against number of penalties over yards.
So if you get one parking ticket and it's two
hundred dollars as opposed to ten parking tickets that may
equal out less than two hundred dollars depending on where
you live, it feels like it feels like somebody's got
(15:24):
a problem and somebody just made a mistake that costs
them more. So I would look at it as number,
not yards. That's how we should decipher what counts as
more penalties.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I'm just saying which one's more penal.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
I mean, look the way we judge penal on this show,
varies from person to person. I can tell you that
right now. All right, if you.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Want to go number from now on, that's fine by me.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Okay, let's just all remember that Jonas asked for this
if it becomes a prop Beck, because we sure as
well know you'll try to change the.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Rules of that hold.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
We said this and Stone right now.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Yes, because you're you're ass doesn't win enough. You need
to see all right?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Then I need some time to think about this, all right,
I need to I need to reevaluate with this.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Go ask the bum that Lee kicked out near his uh,
near his apartment, and ask him what he thinks about it.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Okay, yeah, Lee, if you could get that bums penal thoughts,
we'd appreciate it because it would help us out on
this show.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
He'll definitely have some thoughts on that.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
That's the that's the important stuff here.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Can you move back in Lea? Is he gone?
Speaker 5 (16:31):
Uh? There's a lot of movement in neighborhood.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
You know Brady Brady coincidentally enough, yes, and he's doing
karaoke at a local bar. Would you believe that that's amazing?
How that works?
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Be sure to catch live editions of two pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
All right, so can we talk about the Detroit Lions
for a second here? All right? Now, there's there's a
couple of things that are a little bit awkward with
the Detroit Lions, all right. One of them is the
fact that they're favored to win the division. That's awesome. Awkward, Well,
because I think a lot of people are just used
to bullying the Lions and them being a laughing stock,
so maybe they're not. They can't wrap their minds around
(17:16):
the fact that, oh all their season tickets are sold out.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
For the awkward are just more surprising.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
I think people are uncomfortable because they're going they can't
recycle their old jokes about the Detroit Lions. They've got
to just reconcile with the fact that this is a
progressing football team that's actually pretty.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
They kind of can until they actually win it, right.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Yeah, and it feels like you know they're they're.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
I would actually say, if you're a Vikings Bears or
Packers fans and you want to continue to you know,
harass a Lions fan. Get it all out now this
year the season start, Yeah, this might be your last
shot for a little while, at least the way that
they've built this ross with how things look. But again,
this could be it. After this year, you might not
be able to say anything. And so I would I
(18:04):
would actually take the rest of the preseason to get
everything that's inside of you towards Lions fans out right now,
like whatever you want to say.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
And then and then also they open up the season
at can't can't see.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Yeah, so maybe until week one? Maybe maybe that's is
that our? Is that our a point where we're saying so, yeah,
I think.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
So, And I believe that's September seventh. I believe that's
when the first game of the season is. So September
imagine if they won that game.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
So many weird things happen week one in the full season,
although you get some bad teams beating some really good teams,
and then we're like wait what, And then like week two,
week three come along, we're like, oh, okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Well, emotions run high. They're raising a banner. I mean,
you know Arrowhead Stadium.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
By barbecue, then their fingers might be all sticky or
or a slick because of all the barbecue they probably had.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Pregame a great point.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Now, what do you think you play there? What do
you think the atmosphere is going to be?
Speaker 7 (18:54):
Like?
Speaker 4 (18:55):
Oh my gosh, I mean, it's going to be insane
and absolute sane.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
And if I'm not mistaken, this will be the first
real celebration to open up a year rate because that
was after COVID.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Yeah, oh yeah, the Lions have no chance. It's gonna
be nuts.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
I mean, you're gonna have the helicopter in just to
be able to get to that whole like parking lot
Ballpark arena because obviously the Royals player that that's right
there as well.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
It's gonna be packed.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
People probably gonna be camping out to be able to
celebrate that and be a part of that and just
be around the festivities.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Yeah, I'll take a Chiefs minus six and a half.
I'll go ahead and I'll roll with that. Now that
I think about it, you know, this isn't like COVID
when they were celebrating Yeah, week one game.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I mean again, I would put my money on Kansas
City right now to repeat again because they got my
homes and Andy Reid.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
But it's a lot of points for an opening game
when Detroit's just they.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Play that physical brand of football. Man, I guess the
question how many guys are out due to the game?
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Wix Is mentions Jamison Williams, and then god, I got
why am I blanking on the other guy? Damn it?
Because I know there were staff members.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
And does David Montgomery in a lawsuit right now? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Quentin stephus Or did they cut him?
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Quinphis?
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Did they cut him?
Speaker 3 (20:20):
I don't go back and look, but yeah, did you
see that article about David Montgomery?
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Okay, yeah, dog situation, that's the other one. So so
just to tie up the Jamison williamstuff real quick. So
he suffered a hamstring injury and apparently he's going to
miss the rest of the preseason and he's also going
to miss the first six games of the year. So
not an ideal start to his NFL career coming out
of Alabama rehabbing the injury last year. And you know,
gets pop for being a gambler, Lee to lab you
(20:46):
got more in the degenerate gambler Detroit Lions.
Speaker 5 (20:49):
Yeah, they also cut CJ. Moore in Stanley Berry Hill.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Okay, that's right.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Well, listen, you know they weren't first round picks. So
there's also the David Montgomery story that's out there as
well too. I got a lot of questions here. So
this is now going to a civil court and his
girlfriend is being sued. David Montgomery's girlfriend's being sued because
(21:18):
their dog got out and bit somebody else's dog. We
talked about it. Leap brought this up a couple of
weeks ago. Bit somebody else's dog, caused a couple of
fractures in the dog's leg and then also bit the
owner of the dog, and the owner of the dog
had a couple of puncture wounds. And so you've got
(21:38):
this dog's owner and I think it was a uh
is it a cockachew? Am I saying that right? Is
that what it's called? Like a cockachew or a cockatoo?
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Bad dog? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Whatever it is, it's some small dog and their pit
bull got out and rough this dog up. And we
pointed out that, look, why are you going after them?
Still as David Montgomery and his girlfriend said that the
dog died, their pit bull ended up dying. So it's
not like you can get the dog taken away, and
the owner of the dog released a statement calling it
(22:12):
absolutely the most horrific experience of my life. So could
you imagine how easy that person's life must be if
their dog getting attacked by David Montgomery's pit bull is
the most horrific experience of their life. Yeah, like that.
So they've never been through anything.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
There, No, No, I mean clearly they've They've had a
pretty pretty solid life thus far. Still, it always when
this sort of sort of stuff pops up, It always
reminds me when you're a player, and even just with
the type of dog that you pick that impacts like
crap like this happening, just because you know, especially when
(22:49):
you have a pit bull or like a bigger any
sort of dog like of Rott Wilder something like that,
you're just there's more apt to something that happened, and
you're a target as a player when any time, I mean, look,
dog's funny, dogs getting the stuff when you're walking them
around each other, they get off the leash.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
It's just it's how.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
It is anyone who's a dog on her nose, especially
if you had a bigger dog, I mean, like we
had a we were this is an awful story.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
We were walking.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
We had two boxers and and my my wife was
out walking at that time. I think it was just Sloan,
our oldest, and it was either Slaan Or's tea, and
I forget maybe Sloan was in school at that point.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
But a pit bull got out.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
We had a neighbor who had a pit bull up
the street, and the landscaper had left their side gate open,
I guess, and the pit bull got out and and literally,
like I remember my wife calling me, I sprinted up
the street from our house and I was like out
of my mind, couldn't like scared concern of what happened.
(23:49):
Because when I got up there there's like blood all
over my wife's dress and she's upset, and there's another
guy holding back the pit bull, and the pit bulls
got of it, and I'm kind of looked at the
dogs and I'm like trying to assess the situation. Well,
obviously the pit bull came up and just came right
after our two boxers. Now, fortunately, like our female boxer
(24:12):
is like just a tough, tough dog, and she took
that thing head on. And the male was there too,
and they both like just teamed up on this thing.
And look, I don't know what the dog would have
done to Alicia or the baby, God forbid, but you know,
it ended up being a scenario where, you know, fortunately
our two dogs were able to kind of hold it off,
(24:34):
and then that pit bull actually suffered more damage than anything.
But the more to the story is like it looked
back because Alisha was trying to pull them apart, and
the blood was actually like when I started cleaning off
like our dogs, the blood was actually.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
From their dog.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
But I sat there and thought to myself, like, and
then obviously the owner came out call was extremely apologetic.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
You know, I think she's in a fire in the landscaper.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
But this is the sort of thing like when you're
a like you don't think about what could happen when
you have a dog like that, but you become an
immediate target based on just the type of dog that
you have, where if any altercation happens, anything happens, they
know your NFL player, they're gonna try they're gonna try
to sue because they know you have money, and you know,
negligence is negligence with dogs. But you also have to
(25:19):
take into account if you have a dog like stuff
just happens like that.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Yeah, you know, I mean you've had dogs, you know
how it is with them.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Well, I took hog to a dog park one time,
might let me emphasize one time and then you know
him and a Rottweiler and hogs. He was huge, So
it was big.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Was one hundred and sixty pounds?
Speaker 2 (25:39):
You said, yeah, and it would fluctuate, you know, just depending.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
On right it would fluctuate with thirty forty pounds. I mean,
he was like he was like an NFL off, you know,
offensive lineman right.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Now the fact, do you think I'm making up that
he was one hundred and eighty pounds? I swear to
you on this.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
He sounds like an Irish wolf pound, which, by the way,
you'll be lucky if you can find one when you're
in Ireland. Then you can see a big dog.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
We've I've never seen a dog where I looked at
it and she got a Holy cow, have you ever
seen an Irish wolfound?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Let me look it up. Irish wolf found here?
Speaker 7 (26:06):
Dude?
Speaker 5 (26:06):
They are they have and they look like bears.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Dude.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
It's like the craziest thing you've ever seen seen them
in person. They look like that, like the dial Hell,
that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Looks like.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Last time I was in Ireland I saw two. They're
in the place where it's staying. They had them as like,
you know, kind of like around the property and they
were laying down and I was like, I hope that
thing never gets up.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
God, this tongue looks like a mudflap. Jesus. They're not like,
they're not good looking dogs at all.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
They have their look to them, you know, the Yeah, okay,
I think they look kind of badass.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
I mean they're they're massive. They run forty miles an hour.
My god, that's true. Well that's what it says said,
up to forty miles an hour. Two Yeah, wow, Yeah,
it's massive. A d there it is. There's an Irish
hoole found just crawled through the studio here. Can you
believe that? So so so so. I remember when we
(27:04):
had we had my dog, obviously bull Mastif, and we
had a meter reader come over to where the guy
would and we'd have to because we had dogs, we'd
have to turn the meter towards the sideyard. So when
he would walk through the sideyard, he could read the
meter so that our dogs didn't get to him. But
for some reason he had to come in and repair
something on the meter, so we locked him in the garage.
(27:28):
And I'm thinking everything was fine. So the meta reader
comes over and I'm just saying this so people can
understand why I do the impression the way I do.
It was a Hispanic gentleman, very nice, Okay, I'm just
telling you this going okay, So my little brother and
I are the only ones home, and I say, hey, Pat,
(27:49):
you locked that garage door.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Right, And what did he say? Uh?
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Oh well that's what it sounded like.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Yeah, that's how he talks, and.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Just hold on nothing more than that, just uh yeah, yeah,
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
And so all of a sudden, I hear ah and
I go, oh no, and I walk outside. Identical to that.
I walk outside and Hog is so he's as tall
as the guy on his back legs and has his paws,
(28:24):
his front paws up on the guy's shoulders and he's
just sort of like playing and gnawing with the guy's
head and the guy's like no, like, and he's speaking
in Spanish, just fat, and he's terrified. The guy's like shaking.
I'm laughing so hard that I'm trying to get hog
off of the guy, but I can't because I'm losing
my little brother. He's completely not helping at all. He's
(28:48):
laughing inside that he can't breathe either, and we're trying
to get him off, and I'm like, oh ah, I'm sorry,
I'm sorry, I'm so he goes, oh no, and he's terrified.
So he just grabs his ladder and he storms off
and closes the gate. He didn't fix anything, so my
parents came home. My parents came on and said what happened.
(29:08):
I was like, oh, I just said, for whatever reason,
he couldn't get the thing unscrewed, and uh yeah, I
just couldn't get it done because we were worried they
were gonna come take the dog. But yeah, if your
dogs get a little bit frisky, it could cause problems
and you're gonna lose your dog. So apparently David Montgomery's
dog got a little frisky. Can I throw you my
conspiracy theory at all? This though, because if you remember,
(29:29):
Lee to Lap told this story and said that David
Montgomery's dog was dead. I don't think David Montgomery's dog
is dead.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
It's not dead, No, where is it.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
I think they said that to try and get them
away from them so that they didn't lose the dog.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Lee.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Do we have confirmation of the dog's body anywhere.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
No.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
Actually, people have speculated this.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Live because the idea that this attack would happen and
they would say, oh, we're going to file charges, and
David Montgomery and his girlfriend go, oh, the dog has
since passed away and is no longer with us. I
think the dog is still alive, and I believe that
they did this to try and calm everybody down, to
(30:19):
try and get them away from them so they didn't
lose their dog. What do you think about that conspiracy theory?
Brady Quinn?
Speaker 3 (30:25):
So, we're basically saying.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
The dog is similar to like what Elvis or Tupac
or anyone else who had those conspiracy theories where they
just they go to hide out the rest of their
lives somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Yeah, they faked Lola's death, is what I think.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
It's an interesting conspiracy theory. I'm not going to rule
it out at this point. I mean, we've we've seen
all kinds of craziness.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
In the NFL. I think there's there's maybe something to
your theory, which.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Is a wild turn to all this the fact. Yeah,
I mean, do we get out of this? I'll just
tell everybody it died and then they'll they'll say, Okay,
we don't need anymore.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
I think the NFL is is probably hoping that this
either a goes away or it creates such a bizarre
twist and story that only only adds to the NFL headlines.
Like at one point when Roger Goodell first took over,
he was so concerned about the shield.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
The integrity of the league.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
I think at one point he got he realized, oh wait,
we have the great reality TV show. These sorts of
stories are like really carry us through the off season.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
So if this.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Thing doesn't get legs, it's only because of the timing
of Yes, if it was in the off season, one
hundred percent, I think they would perpetuate that and maybe
becomes like a I don't know, a big mystery.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Oh got if this was the NBA, they this would
be the lead story on every single outlet, Like if
this was the NBA, Like I and here's the problem
with a pit bull, Like what do you do to
change its appearance if you fake its death. It's not
like a longer haired dog where you can shave it
or do something like that. With a pit bull, what
do you do spray paint it? It's if it's a
(32:05):
black pit bull, do you go out and get some
brown spray paint and just dice it up? Make sure
you cover its eyes and then go with that, like,
how do you change the appearance so that people don't think, oh,
that's the same pit bull that attack my dog? So
what do you do then? Like, it does bring up
a lot of very very interesting points as we get
set for the Lions and the Chiefs coming up Week
(32:25):
one to kick off your NFL season.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Yeah, I think I'm more apt to take the points here.
I think Kansas City wins, but it ends up being
able to closer battle than people think because the Detroit
Lions have that doll.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Get them?
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yeah, that is a great they got that do get them?
That is a great call. And again we have proven
yet again that nobody previews the NFL and a game
several weeks away like this show here on two pros
and a cup of Joe.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
That's right, Okay, be sure to catch live editions of

Right now, let's make some noise for the great Bruce Feldman. Yeh,
Fox college football reporter. You bally see his work at
the Athletic. He is a best selling author. You can
get him on Twitter or x or whatever the hell
they're calling it now at Bruce Feldman CFF. Bruce, we
appreciate you waking up early with us and hanging out
(33:57):
with us here on a Friday morning. How are you?
Speaker 7 (34:00):
Oh, I'm good. I'm I was excited when I got
the call. Brady never might here in this show so
I am. I am honored.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Bruce. I don't know why we have to do this.
You know, I love you, buddy.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
I'm always trying to get you involved. I'm just trying
to like let you sleep out on the West Coast.
You've got a busy family. Every time I call Bruce,
one of his kids is involved in some activity. And
Bruce is a great dad, so he's always there, like
taking them to it and we're talking about, you know,
just dad stuff, but we hardly ever get to talk
about what is I personally believe this to be the best.
(34:34):
If you're in a college football this is the best
article you're going to read all year. Bruce, how would
you describe not only the article itself, but just the
amount of time that goes into it.
Speaker 7 (34:46):
It's something that I work on for, you know, months,
and I got to pick at it and work on it,
and then as we get closer to the season, it's maybe,
you know, that's the one thing that I'm kind of
just riding a way at for like the last months,
maybe heading into it it And I am grateful for
the way people have responded to it, not just the readers,
but coaches, especially strength coaches, but NFL Scouts and that's
(35:11):
been it's been fun to see how this thing has
grown over the last almost twenty years now. And you know,
it's probably the thing I'm going to be most known
for for for this work wise, and I'm and I'm
you know, I'm cool with that, just because it was
something that started out with ten guys.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Now it was one hundred.
Speaker 7 (35:28):
Now it's one hundred and one. I saw that, and
I it was because I got a call from a
coach late right before you're about to publish, and I
asked my endor, I like, hey, I got a guy
who like vertical jumps, like forty over forty forty three
inches or something.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Do we have room for him?
Speaker 7 (35:46):
They're like yeah, And then we're about to bump off
a guy. And they were like, I know if I
want to bump off a guy named Neck who's a
nose tackle in South Least, Louisiana.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
One. Yeah. So let me just add a clarification to
it's called the Freaks List.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
Yeah, edgy headline, But when you read it, you'll understand
why there's these college kids who have super human strength.
They're super fast, they're super athletics, super agile. Bruce really
goes into depth about a lot of these young men
and really how they transformed their bodies, in some cases
pretty dramatically.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Not to cut you off, Jonas, I do want to.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
I do want to touch on one more thing though,
as far as Bruce and the amount of work that
goes into this because you wrote about and I know
his last name is Harbor's. It's the wide receiver who's
going to what South Carolina is a freshman this year? Yep, he,
like Bruce, was at one of our games looking for
this kid as a recruit.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
I think we're in Michigan for that.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
We were. It was our first trip to Michigan last year.
That's a good memory, Brady Nicholas Harber is the kid.
And so in the pregame, you know we're down on
the field especially, you know, those guys are way busy.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
And Bruce's syed up the recruits. This is great.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (36:56):
And so I remember talking to Mike Loxley Maryland was
playing Michigan and that both those schools were in it
and he was taking his official visit to San Arbor
and Locksley had kind of pointed him out as Holy
Cow because this guy is a legit ten to one
hundred year die in high school Olympic radar. Yet he
(37:18):
is six ' five now, he's two hundred and forty
three pounds, and he looked like a power forward.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
Now.
Speaker 7 (37:24):
I mean, I just could not believe how big he was,
knowing how fast he was, and you know, a big
get for South Carolina that they got him to leave,
you know, the DC area to come down there. But
I mean, I've never had a true freshman number one
on the list. And there's a guy I knows, the
tight ends coach at South Carolina who used to be
(37:45):
at Alabama, and he'd been around Julio Jones and Derrick
Henry and they were talking about both those guys, and
it's like this guy's way bigger than Julio Jones. And
it's like a full second faster than Julio Jones was,
you know, running one hundred, which full second is a lot.
So I was like, oh, man, can't wait to watch
this guy actually play now.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
So I'm not trying to be insulting to South Carolina,
but how did Shane Biemer pull this off? How did
they if he had forty offers from all over the
country and he's this much of a freak. So much
of these number one on your list as a true
freshman and your eyeballing him before a game in an arbor.
How did he end up in South Carolina, which you
(38:25):
wouldn't anticipate would be one of the destinations for a
recruit like this.
Speaker 7 (38:30):
Yeah, I mean, look what actually thought it was going
to come down to Maryland and Michigan and because that
kid's from there, to get him to go to this's
a little different than Genevian Clowny, the number one recruit
who's from rock Hill, South Carolina, going to be a
game cock. But yeah, credit to Shane Biemer. I mean,
he's got kids buying in we'll see you know. They
certainly can sell a good game day atmosphere in the
(38:52):
SEC and they've had some nice wins. But it's it's
not like he was going to Georgia. It's not like
he was going to LSU Alabama. So it was to
me it was a big surprise. You got the five
star kid who's a really unique talent. It's a huge
guest for them.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
Bruce.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
I want to take you through, or have you take
us through, some of the other athletes that are in
this list.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
That you feel like kind of stand out to you.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
I mean, you've done this for years, and obviously there's
we could talk about bench, we talked about squad, there's
other tests and things like I think the one that
stuck out to me was is it it's a Michigan
defensive back, right, the one who did the is it
the l drill? That he has such a ridiculous time
that no one's ever heard of before.
Speaker 7 (39:35):
Yeah, And that's the thing, the one great thing that's
been about this thing in the last couple of years
of Michigan has been awesome about this, has been providing
actual video evidence of some of this stuff. So, so
what you're talking about. He is a Marion walker who's
a really long talk corner sixty three and eighty pounds,
(39:56):
was a freshman last year and his three cone drill
time is six point one to zero. And for context
of that, last year, Jackson Smith and Jigbow was the
fastest than anybody at the combine and it was six
point five seven. The combined record was set twelve years
ago by a guy named Jeff Mail it was six
(40:16):
point four to two. So the fact that this is
three tenths of a second faster is a huge gap.
I don't want to say it's like that'd be like
somebody running a three three nine, but that's you know,
pretty remarkable. You see video of this, this kid doing it,
it's kind of mind blowing, and you know that that's
(40:36):
one of them. And with some of these tests, like
I think most people, especially twenty years are going to
start doing this, knew what's a really good forty time.
They knew what's what's a lot in terms of you know,
bench in two twenty five or what they do on
the bench. What we see a lot now because of
the GPS and the catapult stuff is how fast somebody
runs miles per hour wise. And so a few weeks,
(41:00):
a few weeks ago, I remember I was talking to
the offensive coordinator at BYU. He said, who do you
guys got or do you have anybody who should be here?
And he started raving about a young left cackle. They
have Kingsley Simataiah who is six six three twenty five,
and he goes, he's the most fat boy kid I've
ever been around. And by the way, Yu had a
(41:20):
had a six ' eight offensive lineman who jumped more
better than anybody at the combine last year of all
the linemen and he.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Was like wow.
Speaker 7 (41:28):
I was like, wow, better than that kid. And so
I talked to their sports science guy and he was like,
this guy at three twenty five is faster than our linebackers.
And he said last year he ran twenty one five
miles per hour, which is actually a really good time.
If he was two hundred, if he was one hundred,
groups like ridiculous, that's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
It's a grizzly bear.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
I mean, that's that's basically a small car driving over
twenty miles an hour.
Speaker 5 (41:54):
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
It's amazing.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
Bruce, ask you this though, Is there ever, because like
you know, I saw a video of the Turkish get up, which,
for people who don't know what that is, basically you're
laying on your back, you're holding up a dumbbell in
one arm. I believe it was Chris Jenkins for Michigan,
who you wrote about, who's in this, and you have
the video.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Of him actually doing it.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
He's holding one hundred and seventy pound dumbbell in one
arm and you basically stand up from a position. There's
a manner in which you do it and then you go,
you get back down and roll back down your back.
And he did this with one arm one hundred and
seventy pounds, which is freakish. But is there anything that
even you kind of looked at and go, all right,
(42:38):
that's kind of a first or like I didn't think
or expect to be like reading that or hearing about this.
Speaker 7 (42:45):
I mean, the Turkish get up thing is taken off
with this thing in like the last three years, because
it's just you know, it's big in the big ten apparently,
you know, because but those to see it, I like,
the video of that really just I don't want to
say what viral. I don't want to over overdo it.
But it's like when people saw the video and it
was like, holy crap, look at this, you know kind
(43:06):
of thing, and then you get these discussions about it,
and Brady, I have to tell you the discussion that
we had at home because your name came up hell
in this. Oh man. I don't know if it's a
great discussion or not, but like it would have started
an argument inside your house kind of thing. So I'll
tell you offline. It's so because I showed my wife's
(43:31):
video and she was like and I was like, listen,
I could give you a bottle of wine, and I'm
not sure you could do this, and he goes and
then she so, as we're talking about this and getting
into this, and I said, well, you know, that's one
hundred and seventy kuds, dumbo. Most human being can't even
lifted off the rack. And so as she started telling,
(43:51):
she went and put on the cape for your wife
and goes, well, I bet you Alicia could do it.
I was like, well, you know what Brady Woods told me,
he didn't think Alisha was like a great athlete or whatever.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
First off, first off, that is not that is not
what I said to you.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
I said she is a she's a very well trained athlete.
I didn't say she wasn't a great athlete.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
And by the way, what this was in reference to
is I said, go play like any time you're playing
any sort of sport and volse HANDI coordination. She's not
really well versed in that. So that's what Bruce is
trying to throw me on the bus for.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
Hey, Bruce, I.
Speaker 7 (44:34):
Mean, look, let if you know at the record show,
my wife went the best for your wives in this conversation,
and I tried to take up for you.
Speaker 4 (44:40):
Well, yeah, apparently you didn't relay the message to Alicia.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. The great Bruce Feldman joining us here.
He's got his new uh A yearly tradition, his Freaks
list that is out. And I wanted to ask you this,
Bruce about because like a lot of these guys, I
think for the casual college football fan, they'll be looking
through and go, okay, well, these are some under the
radar guys maybe we haven't heard a lot about and
(45:06):
you're shining a spotlight on him. But number two on
your list this year is Marvin Harrison Junior. And I
guess this is maybe a generic question for you. How
good is he? Because it seems like everybody's on the
same page that we're talking about one of the true
greats to come out of college football that position.
Speaker 7 (45:26):
We'll look at the at the room that Braggy's buddy
has had over their Brian hartline keeping cranking out first
round talent, not just their first round guys. It's like
we fewt like Garrel will flat did they are bot
thousand yard receivers last year. I suspect Jackson Smith and
Jig was going to tear it up his rookie year.
This guy's the best one. He's the biggest, he's the
(45:49):
most explosive in terms of the guys, you know, running
twenty three twenty three three or stale miles per hour.
His shuttle time is a crazy you know, under four
seconds to be that that that lanky and that big.
And I think one thing we ran a Q and
A with him earlier this week trying to kick off
(46:09):
Freaks List, and I think people get to read how
his approach is. He was very impressive, you know, just
like in terms of like he treats himself and carries
himself like he's a pro athlete right now, in terms of,
you know, his approach to his craft. And I think
those are the things that I mean, you hate to
(46:30):
say somebody is a sure thing coming out, you know,
when they come out of the out of college to
go to the draft, But I mean you saw what
he did a couple of years ago, and you know
he was when he blew up on the scene. And
then last year, I mean they're up by two touchdowns
on Georgia when he gets knocked out of the game,
and he had over one hundred yards and three quarters,
(46:51):
a couple of touchdowns, and that's Georgia. That was the
best defense in the country, and you know he was
tearing them up, you know. So I don't think you
can overstate how gifted Barmon Harrison Junior is both physically
but also you know, all the intangibles as well.
Speaker 4 (47:09):
Bruce, I'd be remiss if we didn't try to get
just your thoughts on the state of college football and
realignment and everything else. I know you've got great perspective
on this. You've been in the sport for such a
long period of time. Where do you think this is going?
Where do you think it's headed. Do you have any
concerns about all this?
Speaker 7 (47:27):
I mean I have concerns where it's really unfortunate that
Oregon State Washington State are getting kind of squeezed out.
I don't know what ends up happening with you know,
with Callen Stanford in the mix, because this is this
is just realignment. It's actually conference consolidation now too. And
Philip oregons it's preseason top twenty team. Jhonathan Smith's done
(47:48):
a really good job, you know, I've you know, been
to both of those places up in the Pacific Northwest,
and it's unfortunate. You know, the Pac twelve Conference is
you know, just basically imploded, and that I think there's
there's some sad elements of it. Now, look on the
flip side of it, I can't wait to see some
(48:09):
of these new matchups that are going to spring up,
you know, with the USC and UCLA joining the Pact,
joining the Big Ten, and you have Oklahoma and Texas
who have left the Big Twelve to go to the
SEC next year. I think these are going to be
you know, to get to see both A and M
and U T again and all this other stuff that
(48:30):
I think is good. But what it's become more is
college football is becoming more like the NFL at least
in that regard. And I still think, you know, I'm
still going to watch the games and still love it,
but I get why certain fans are very uncomfortable with
where it's going. You know. It's just it's different and
(48:53):
it changed is you know, we'll see, we'll see how
it is. Because I mean, I think this part of
the pack Pack twelve and the and the Big twelve
and the Big Ten in the reforming of these of
these programs. I think football is one thing. I think
the non revenue sports, when the travel comes up for them,
that's a different animal. I think for the football part,
(49:14):
I think it's a little it's it's not as significant
as it's going to be for those other other sports
who have much longer schedules and they don't make as
much money. Maybe they don't starter like the football programs will.
So I think that's the stuff that you know, it's
it's different and it's going to be different.
Speaker 2 (49:33):
You see him on Fox. You can read his work
at the Athletic He is Bruce Feldman. Get him on
Twitter at Bruce Felton CFP. Cannot recommend it enough. It's
a yearly tradition. His Freaks List of college Football is out.
Go check it out again at Bruce Feldman CFB. It's
a fun read. You get. You shine a spotlight on
(49:54):
a lot of smaller schools, a lot of great interesting
players and fun stories. And Bruce, we appreciate you out
with us here. Even though you may have caused a
problem between Brady and Alicia.
Speaker 7 (50:03):
We're all good, though I apologize for that. Brady.
Speaker 4 (50:07):
I know we should see you should see Bruce behind
the scenes in our meetings trying to instigate all kinds of.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Duss going on, stirring it up.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
Huh, especially with restaurant recommendations people and our crew and
all that.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Oh yeah, that's the way it goes. Hey, Bruce, you're
the best man. Thanks so much for the time.
Speaker 7 (50:25):
My pleasure. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
There is Bruce Feldman joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Man,
some of these guys on this list, I don't even
know how it's out possible. I don't get it. How
do you run that fast and your three hundred pounds?
I don't I just I don't know. And I'm telling
you that's what when.
Speaker 4 (50:44):
The reason why this this list is significant, and the
reason why you know we have someone on like Bruce
to talk about it is even if you're not a
college football fan, but you're an NFL fan.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
Everyone's reading this.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
You're going to hear about these young men come the
draft time next year. There's gonna be names you just
mentioned that you will here next year and you'll see
at the combine and you will be eating it up
and they'll be back referencing an article like this that
Bruce is constructing now for you.
Speaker 2 (51:09):
And it's not like it's a top five or ten list.
There's one hundred and one names on here. And I
would venture to guess, do you think all these guys
get drafted in the NFL with this kind of athletic
gifts that they've done.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Yeah, men, I'd say you're venturing to say, like a
lot of these guys, they'll.
Speaker 3 (51:25):
At least have an opportunity.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
You can at least say that it's awesome. So again,
go check that out. Bruce Feldman's Freaks list for college
football in twenty twenty three.
