Hey, it's I'll kick the coverage here on Fox Sports Radio.
Jonas Knocks, Brady Quinn and LaVar Arrington, and coming up

in the a f C. Now we've got injury concerns
moving forward. We've also got the very latest on the
New England Patriots quarterback situation and a potential conspiracy against
(00:20):
Cam Newton. Brady Quinn is outraged by somebody making claims
and accusations against Notre Dame. We've also got a quarterback
competition that hasn't been figured out yet, and we can't
seem to figure out why, what does the College Football
Alliance actually mean? And so much more. All of that
coming up next year. It's out kick the Coverage, Jonas Knocks,

I Heart radio app. You can find us on hundreds

you doing so. All the way up until nine am
(01:27):
Eastern time, we will take you six and Pacific right
here on fs ARE. And that, guys, it is college
football Week. We're gonna have plenty on that. But it
is the NFL that is still heating up here as
we head into the season. Fun stuff all the way
through and through. Can I ask this question here we go? No? No,
I feel like first impressions are are so meaningful, right
(01:49):
like they's They're incredibly meaningful in relationships that could be
in business and anything. Right, And LaVar, Jonas and I
have been talking about this the past couple of days,
But you view the preseason as a first impression, especially
for new head coaches, rookie quarterbacks or or do you
say yeah, but it's it's not necessarily significant because it
(02:13):
doesn't necessarily mean what's gonna happen to the regular season, Like,
how do you view the preseason as it relates to
first impressions? Man, you came out the gay swinging. That
was that was quick. You jumped into a quick Uh.
You know, Brady, it's a great question, first of all,
because you don't want to be the new guy, like
(02:33):
you look at urban Meyer, you know some of these
new coaches, uh, and what's going on. You don't want
to be the guy that doesn't show that you can coach,
even in preseason. So it's almost like you do want
to prove a point that I can organize the game plan,
I can organize the strategy, we can be organized in
(02:54):
our approach and win the game. But then if you
understand what preseason represents, then it's like he has no
idea what he's getting himself into, right, you know what
I mean? Bright, Like, Yeah, you're sitting there, You're like,
oh my gosh, Like he has no clue, Like God, blessing,
good luck, Like you have no idea. Like I can
(03:15):
tell by the way you approached trying to win this
game that this is more important to you. This is
this is this shouldn't be as important to you and
so that's the idea of it is. So it's like
it's a damn if you do, damn if you don't
type of situation, because if you do come out swinging,
then you're winning for that first impression. Then it's like, man,
(03:37):
it's the preseason, like what are you doing? You're overcompensating,
and once we get to the regular season then we'll
find out. Now if you if you come out swinging
and you win in the preseason with your first impression,
and then you win in the regular season, then you won.
But the only way you win is if you win
at both times. If you lose in the preseason but
(04:01):
you win in the regular season, then you have to
deal with maybe the criticism and the scrutiny of what
comes with being a new coach and losing in the preseason,
but you ultimately started winning in the regular season, which
will obviously destroy the critics. You know, they're discussion points
on a poor preseason. I would rather be able to
(04:22):
get through a preseason and win and kind of take
the posture as if I've already been here and not
care if I lose my first first games in the preseason.
Don't optics matter? In the preseason, because I actually I
think they do because if you watch, like just think, okay,
go back to the Monday night came The final score
was a two point game, so New Orleans won by
(04:44):
two points. You can look at that and say, hey man,
Herbert Meyer, he's competitive against a team that's been really
good in the NFC for a long time, in the Saints.
If you actually watch the game, the first half told
you the entire story. This is not looking good. The
optics of it were terrible, and so I I come
away from you know, Sirianni. We talked about it last week,
(05:05):
the Thursday night game against New England. I came away
from that going Philly's got problems. And I came away
from Monday Night Brady going, hey man, Jacksonville has got problems.
And the problems got even worse because Travis, a t
N first round draft pick, second running back, taken one
pick after um Naji Harris of Pittsburgh. Uh, he gets hurt,
(05:26):
knocked out. You know, it was a Liz Frank. There
was some speculation about he's gonna miss some time. And
then it comes out later Brady and I know you've
had the injury. Liz Frank injury. He's done for the year,
so they're already without one of their first round picks
for the season. I think the toughest sport about that too.
And LaVar you can speak to this, like when you
face an offense that you don't really feel challenged by
or threatened by, like E. T N probably next to
(05:49):
DJ Chark, who's displayed himself as as their top receiver
when healthy, didn't play in the preseason game. But you know,
those two guys are probably the ones that are gonna
be able to make or could have made some of
their biggest plays. Right e. E. T N can catch
the ball in space. He's probably a guy that as
a linebacker, i'd assume you'd say a man of stinks,
like I don't want to match up against this guy,
(06:10):
or you have to at least figure out ways of
trying to keep him in the backfield. But that's the
hard part now, is like the one of the things
I forget the offensive line protection because the Saints are
good up front. They were playing with three backups. Even
though there is a thought that like Walker Little was
playing left tackle. I mean he might he might get
the start, you know, he might be a part of
that starting five in some capacity, if not a left tackle,
(06:32):
we'll see. But it's more that watching two preseason games now,
whether it was verse the Browns or versus the Saints,
like there is no separation. I told this, I told
Jonas this before. Like we used to call velcrow coverage.
It's not Cover one, it's not Cover three, not Cover two, LeVar,
It's it's velcrow. It's where no matter what they're playing,
they're not getting open. Right. You know, it's interesting because
(06:57):
if you have the benefit of the doubt, you don't
have to separate yourself in the preseason like you're just
you're in the preseason and that's what's taking place, and
that's what you have going on, and you'll be judged
once you get to the regular season. Like the Patriots
don't generally have really really successful preseasons, but when you
look at you know what's going on in Jacksonville and listen,
(07:20):
I I played. I played for coach Burrier when he
came to the National Football League as as an offensive
guru and head coach, the headball coach, and we had
a really successful preseason and he won the preseason. But
but he you know, they went once they started scheming him,
(07:41):
once they understood what was going on in in the
regular season, that Valcro coverage became evident and apparent. Uh,
there were a lot of things that just changed once
we got to the regular season, and our coaching staff
wasn't prepared to be able to handle it, and us
as players weren't prepared to hand and it got pretty
(08:01):
ugly pretty quickly. Um here, here's here's one thing that
I'll take out of this, and it's kind of off topic,
but I would love to hear, uh, your your take
on as Brady is you talked about guys getting those
injuries and et N getting that that list Frank injury,
and you know, the idea of playing in the preseason.
(08:23):
What's your take on that, because to me, that's been
an ongoing conversation that I've been a part of. Is
is it is it smart or is it soft? Joey
Taylor said on on Speak for Yourself yesterday, they're smart
and then they're soft. I said, it's soft for guys
to be placed in bubble wrap and not play any
(08:45):
type of downs, any plays during the course of the preseason.
I think everybody should play if you're in college. You
don't get the benefit of, oh we're playing Bowling Green
this week. Oh we're playing two lane or or Toledo.
We're gonna sit out all of our starters until we
get to regular play, you know, conference playing to the season,
(09:08):
like nobody does sit out so while you're trying to
make it to the league. So that now all of
a sudden, you make it to the league and oh
we've got to sit them out. Oh they need rest time.
That was my take on it. I don't care if
you play a series and you're done. At least play
a series before you're done. So, but now you're you're
seeing some of these made. That's a major hit. That's
(09:30):
a major blow losing a t N on your team.
That he's a comfort blanket for for Trevor Lawrence and
you don't you now don't have that that dynamic, multidimensional
back out of your backfield. What's your take on that, Like,
how do you look at, uh, the idea of sitting
(09:50):
versus playing guys in the preseason and and how that
applies to the first impression. Should you have rested your
guys and said listen, now, I don't need to say
he's a rookie whatever I'm I'm going to wrest them
and see what happens. I think the hard part about
the comparison between college NFL is even though you're playing
Bowling Green, they're saying I'm not gonna sit out or
not gonna They're probably not playing the third fourth quarter
(10:12):
right because you're blowing them out, and that game is meaningful.
Even though it's a lesser opponent, it's still meaningful because
it counts in your records. You know, these things get
wiped away once preseasons over with, So I think, and
we were talking about how you know the Browns and
Lions when they both went oh in sixteen, they went
four and over the preseason, so that gives you any
indication of how insignificant they are. The two were seasons
(10:35):
we've seen in recent history, both a good preseasons. So
I just I kind of look at and think it
depends on the individual and it depends on where the
teams are, because I think you can find examples of
guys who didn't I mean, Carson Wentz didn't really play
in preseason before he started his rookie season, and then
he lit the world on fire when he when he
first started Week one and I was like, dude, this
(10:57):
guy coming from a smaller school hasn't played preseason, Like
what are we gonna get? And next thing you know,
there was like a bill I think on the floor
in Pennsylvania name of Wensylvania. If you're bad, they Weania.
It's like that pretty quickly, Hey where are you going?
(11:18):
I'm h where is that? I mean Pennsylvania? Change and
change back very quickly. I don't know. It's it's such
a tough question to answer because I always come back.
It's football. You know, this stuff happens and and it's
part of your job, and you're gonna get injured, and
that's why it's a ruthless business for for players and
contracts and all that. Um. I think there's probably a
(11:40):
discussion to like, do you draft the running back in
the first round, you know, knowing that they're more susceptible
to injuries at least offensively, and their shelf life is
probably shorter than any other player. And were they justifying
that pick by saying, well, we might use them as
a wide receiver, because then if you'll use them as
a receiver a running back, you're saying, oh, there's more
(12:02):
value there, right. But the truth of the matter is
he was gonna be a running back, right. I mean
all the prop bets and everything else that we're out there,
which may have made a few mistakes this week. Fellas
may have said take the over rushing yards for for one,
Travis E. T n just yeah, you know, I did
say pending injury, which obviously it was taken. I said it.
(12:26):
I said take the over. I told some people that,
and uh now he's hurt, So yeah, I probably should
have made that caveat wait till the regular season starts.
But because here's the thing is, I feel like as
a quarterback, once I got like older in my career,
I didn't need to play in the preseason. I felt
fine and it was, it was all good. But I
had to because then it was I was competing for
(12:48):
some sort of spot, right. Either way, it was to
be a backup, you know, starting or getting a leg
up so you could go in and start, whatever the
case may be. You know, for some of these guys,
once you're proven, I don't you need to. But I
think as a rookie, you gotta see what it looks like.
You gotta wrap up some of that intensity. So I
think it's so individualized, it's so tough to say if
there's one standard that there should be for that. Yeah,
(13:10):
I agree, I don't. I don't think you can measure
it off of the preseason. So I think that that
ultimately comes to to the you know, the conclusion of
it is, even if you're a ridiculed or maligned coming
out of of a presea, a poor preseason, like you said,
it gets wiped away. It gets washed away, and now
the real games begin, and now the real judgments are
going to become. By the way, how bad must Tim
(13:33):
Tebow have been if he couldn't make this roster? I'm
just saying, man Like, I'm just saying, how gifted do
you have to be to be able to make it
and have an opportunity? I agree, but it felt like
it was it was an opportunity to take a shot. Sorry,
you know how many people I made upset just then
(13:55):
when I just said that gift do you have to
be to have an opportunity? At a different Can we
now call him the way it's it's supposed to be
pronounced Tebow? It doesn't. Yeah, yeah, it's French. I think
it's funny you just said it though, Wow, isn't well
you know what he said it with such a great
radio you know, you know it's that that is true.
(14:23):
That that is true. And the funny thing about that
is it would take a golden dome er to to
say that about Well, yeah, I'll call him out for it,
all right, didn't look I didn't. We didn't go back
and put the O'Quinn on my last name just to
look more Irish. Kept it off when we came over
to the States, by the way, before we get to break,
before we get to break, same with me, you know,
(14:44):
we didn't keep the oh Arrington when we came over
from you know what I mean, we drop out because
we didn't want to confuse people. You know what I mean.
VARs are like man. That is one dark irishman right there,
tell you, But is that the darker complexion. We're going
to get to that thing. There was something to be
said about a story that came out. Yes, we're gonna
(15:05):
get by the way, LaVar. We just want to get
ahead of this story. First. A happy St. Patrick's Day
to you and yours there on Fox Sports Trade It
is outcap the coverage here on FSR Jonas knocks LaVar Quinn, man,
I've ever married. By the way, this is approp Where
is my bere this? This is out kicked the coverage
(15:30):
coming up later on in the hour. I have not
heard Brady Quinn this heated about a topic in a
long long time. It has been a long time since
I have heard him this heated about one topic in
the world of college football. But I think it's the
dumbest thing I've ever read it. It's a hot take Wednesday,
and we will get to that here coming up later
(15:52):
on in the hour on Wednesday Radio. Yeah, baby, whatever
that is, that is the camel. You know it is.
You know what it is. That's how I sounded. Don't
(16:14):
you remember it? I don't commercial? Well, dude, I mean,
how hard did you laugh every time that commercial jam?
Mean Jesus, he was walking around that offense. He was
he was pumped up about it being hump. It was
his time to shine. You know, every camelold have his
day to have his moment to time to shine, you
know what I mean. So shots out to the hump
the hump day camel. Yeah, there it is. Who knew
(16:36):
we had a camel insider here? On Fox Sports Radio.
Just an unbelievable skill set. What yeah, thank you. Well,
I'm just saying, you know, like the don't don't just
saying the things you discover on this show. And speaking
of which, discovered your credit cards here first, because Discovers
accepted at ninety nine percent of places in the US
(16:58):
to take credit cards. Learn more discovered com slash Yes,
two thousand twenty one Nielson Report. Limitations apply. You gotta
always stop when you starting them read so smooth. Yeah,
I didn't even know he was going into one. Oh wait,
hold on, what were we talking about right here? We're
just talking about first impressions, tad bit earlier. What's going on?
(17:22):
So let's um, let's have this conversation about the quarterback
competition in New England because it felt like, all right, look,
you know Mac joneses look good, but Cam Newton's also
looked good. And Bill Belichick trust veterans more so than rookies,
and this will be you know, Cam Newton, that's going
to be the guy moving on into the season opener
against Miami. And then all of a sudden there's a
(17:44):
COVID issue, uh a quote unquote misunderstanding Cam Newton. You know,
team approved trip Um to get a second opinion, but
apparently he took the wrong COVID test. All came back negative,
but he took the wrong one. Nonetheless, he's gonna be
away from the team for five days as by the
protocols of the NFL, And so mac Jones finds himself
(18:07):
getting number one reps with the team with the Patriots,
and his coach Bill Belichick talked about the big opportunity
for his rookie quarterback yesterday. Our entire teams as opportunities
every day, all the way through the weekends, the giants
in the game. I hope we can all take advantage
of those opportunities. There's a big learning car for all
rookies and we all have a lot of work to do.
Or three weeks into training camp with it a long
(18:28):
way to go. All right, Brady, what the heme? I
missing here? What's going on? I mean, it is what
you want to want to make of it, Okay, mac
Jones gets to be there. They get to see what
life is gonna be like either in the future, if
if they move on from Cam at some point after
this year, or if Cam gets hurt, or if this
happens again, right, because the situation that Cam and the
(18:52):
Patriots are in now, it's important due to the fact
that and and again I said this yesterday, I'll say
it again. I don't care or what's your personal preferences
to get vaccinated or not. That is an individual personal choice.
That's your own health information. But we do know that
players who don't are subjected to daily testing, are subjected
(19:13):
to if they leave and go to another site. Even
though his team approved for a medical visit, which I'm
a little bit unsure why the Patriots aren't trying to
have his backboard. Um. But regardless of all that, you know,
this is what you're subject to, Like they they're basically
penalizing you for not getting the vaccine, and and so
(19:35):
it is what it is. Like. We're not gonna be
able to turn that back or change that, um, but
this is an opportunity for them to see what this
team looks like with Mac Jones as their quarterback, and
so he gets to take those reps he would have
gotten to anyway. Let's be real, he was gonna play
the final preseason game camp probably wasn't, and they're gonna
move on in this season once Camp comes back at
(19:55):
Cam's give me the starter. Like, I don't know that
this changes anything. I just think it gives as them
a chance to look into that window of just Mac
Jones being there and and and look, maybe Mac will excel,
maybe he'll continue to keep being in the back of
their minds if Cam struggles or you know, maybe they'll
realize like, all right, we're kind of missing an element
or dimension of this team, or Max just not ready,
(20:16):
Like this could go one of you know, it could
go either way. It's not like this is just an
opportunity that Max is gonna go out sees it and
prove to them that he's ready as soon as they
feel like they need to go to him. Yeah, I
mean it's it's either lose or just power forward, of course, right.
I mean, if we're being honest here, it's like if
he if he doesn't play well, that's a loss. But
(20:39):
if he plays really well, it's like that's what you
hoped for and and it's like that's what was anticipated
because well you took him in the first round. Again,
he made mention of it. There is a learning curve
for everyone that comes in as a rookie, probably way
more for a quarterback. You'll be able to speak to
(20:59):
a better than I could, Brady. But yeah, yeah, no worries,
no worse in this one potularly everything else, Yeah, you
got everything else right. But but again, if he if
he shows certain things that you're looking for out of
and here's the qualifier a rookie quarterback, then then now, okay,
(21:23):
you have the conversation that leads to how much time
do you have as Cam Newton where you're not just
looking at Mac Jones as the rookie quarterback that did
well in preseason? When does the conversation, I guess this
would be a great converse, uh question for you, Brady.
When does the conversation change from oh, he played well
(21:45):
as a rookie to oh, oh he's ready to play
as a rookie. When does When does that conversation change?
Because I don't think this preseason game that he's about
to play in, I don't think that he transitions out
of the he played elf as a rookie like this rookie,
This rookie performance was really really good, but we got
(22:05):
a long way to go, and development, when does the
conversation change he played really well and this is a
guy that well, maybe we're going to start considering when
that transition time for him to play well as an
NFL starting quarterback. When does that take place? Uh, it's
a good question. I think it's it will probably take
place if if if things aren't going well with Cam,
like I truly believe, either through injury or poor play,
(22:28):
is when they go to Mac. I just think Cam
has been there. Josh McDaniels is gonna trust that. Um
he's got that equity bill within with Bill Belichick. So, uh,
there's that. I think if you look at how they
went to Tom Brady, it's not like he started right away.
And I get it, he was a sixth round pick,
so there wasn't that expectation. But I think when you
even comb back through the list of um, you know
(22:49):
m v p s for example at the quarterback position, UM,
Aaron Rodgers most recently, he didn't play for a few years.
Lamar Jackson didn't play right away. We kind kind of
tended for get that. It was Joe Flacco is their first.
Patrick Mahomes sat his first year. Obviously, Tom Brady we
talked about he didn't play. Now there's there's there's your
examples of Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, guys who stepped right
(23:10):
in and played Payton as well. Which it wasn't the
best rookie year, but you know, I think it depends
on the situation, depends on what you feel like is best.
But I think if you're looking at the bigger picture
in the a f C East, I don't know that
you can afford to say, well, we don't know if
Max ready, but we feel like he's about even with Cam,
so let's just throw him in there because they could.
(23:33):
I mean, this is a team that looks good. They
invested a lot of money in the off season and
trying to improve you know what was a roster kind
of depleted due to COVID and cap issues. But they
now look like a team that might be able to
compete in the a f C East with Buffalo. And
if that's the case, like I wouldn't want to drop
any games, Like I wouldn't want to waste a game
or two. Here they're saying, you know, we're trying to
(23:54):
get him up the speed. We're trying to see if
he's ready. Like I'm sticking with Cam until I know
either he's not the guy for us, he gets injured
or he proves to me, you know that that he's
just not capable of competing with Mac Jones and what
Max doing. And so we could say all we want
about the preseason, but it's the preseason. You and I
both know the way teams are gonna pressure and rush
(24:17):
Matt Jones is vastly different than what they gonna do
with Cam right camp seeing it all at this point.
And also he's got that other ability to escape the pocket,
use his legs and hurt you with his legs. Who
do you guys think, Belichick? Once starting Week four against
Tom Brady in the Bucks, it can't be Mac Johns.
I gotta be Cam Newton. I gave the example, and
(24:37):
I know Cam is he called he's, you know, the
proclaimed superman, but I switched it up. Tom Brady is
Superman coming to town to play against the old team,
the New England Patriots. Are you going to send out
Batman or Robin to stand up to Superman? That's the
(24:59):
I mean, this is not a boy, well maybe the
Michael Keaton. So so it's like, are you gonna send
Cam out to stand up to? And Cam will stand
toe to toe with Tom Brady? Michael you are not Ye,
(25:22):
You're not going to send boy wonder Uh out there
to stand up to Superman. You're just not gonna do it.
So it's not that is not I don't even think
that's up for debate. There's no way they are going
to send mac Jones out there as the starter against
Tom Brady. There's no way. Yeah, no, I I would
tend to agree, But it's gonna be a lot of
(25:43):
fun to watch that thing Clay out and the week
week leading up to that is gonna be I mean
glorious to see, like how how many questions Belichick is
gonna try and avoid having to talk about Tom Brady.
It's out kicked the coverage here on Fox Sports, Rady,
LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox, bradyuim you here on FS are
come up next. Brady Brady is a big fan of this.
I don't know how you feel about it, but I
got a conspiracy theory. I'm gonna I'm gonna throw conspiracy
(26:07):
because he likes to shoot him down. It's an opportunity.
There's two reasons why it's my favorite thing. We play
the Unsolved Mysteries music, which still creeps me out to
this day. Usually that's what we play with. The created
a nightmare. And by the way, Jonas, I've actually I've
actually co signed them, like the last three on a conspiracy.
(26:28):
I am on a pretty good run here, So let's
see if I can continue. Because there's a conspiracy theory
in regards to a quarterback competition in the NFL. I
want to throw you guys, all right and uh and
for conspiracy theories, we do love the Unsolved Mysteries theme music.
Big fan of Unsolved Mysteries and Robert Stack and that
trench coat from back in the day. Here's my conspiracy.
(26:48):
What do you need the trench coat? I don't know,
because I think that adds to it. Did that make it?
If he didn't wear the trench coat and were like
a leather bomber jack, would that make any difference? Yeah?
Because he was he was always on, because he was
always on, Like it seemed like he was always on
like a real foggy street, didn't it, like like when
he was like doing his Yeah, nightmares, man have nightmares
(27:08):
after you know the best part is when they would
do an episode and all of a sudden, Robert Stack
would come on and go update and it would be
an update on like the kid who went missing, but
it turned out he was actually a forty five year
old adult. It was like, yeah, I was like, really weird.
But anyways, here's my here's my conspiracy theory. I think
(27:30):
the NFL is trying to make an example of Cam Newton.
And and I say this because they did it last
year to the Denver Broncos, that fiasco in which they
had to have Kendall Hinton. I think his name was
some wide receiver. Yeah, k J A J. Kendall who
cares pick pick a card, any card like Kendall Hinton
(27:51):
had to play wide receiver. And you go back and
you look at it and you go, wait a second,
like why were these guys in violation of COVID protocols? Why?
And the feeling from a lot of people was the
NFL was trying to make an example of the Denver
Broncos and that quarterback room. And I think my conspiracy
is the NFL is trying to make example an example
of Cam Newton. Here was an example that they're trying
(28:13):
to do. What are they going for? You need to
have everything buttoned up because the idea you better r
because because why is he why is he in trouble
because he took the wrong COVID test when it was
a team approved trip, like and it doesn't add up
to me. It doesn't make sense. There's something that we're
not being told about this whole thing, or they're trying
(28:36):
to make an example of a guy and say, hey,
this is how serious we are. If you don't do
every single step exactly the way that we say you
need to do it, if you're unvaccinated, you could lose
your starting job in the NFL, especially at quarterback. And
I think that's what they've done. We want to be
careful of you not getting okay, but but it's better
(28:57):
for radio. If my star I'm saying, what do you
know what, Jonas? I think you are absolutely right. Basically
they're telling everybody get the vaccination. I'm gonna coast sign
with you here because it's almost like, you know how
in the preseason when there's like rule changes or emphasis
(29:21):
that they're trying to make an officiating what are they
do in the preseason, they're like over the top with it.
There's like penalties and they'll make sure to kind of
make an example out of certain plays or especially earlier
in the year. I think they do have a tendency
to do that. And then once you get to the
back half the season in the playoffs up a little bit. Yeah,
they loosen up. They don't call it as much like
(29:42):
I do think there's an element of that here. I'm
just I said this earlier in LaVar. You you mentioned
something to when I when I said it, like we're
the Patriots and all this if it was a team
approved medical visit or site and all that, and he
was taking daily testing and they're all negative even though
it wasn't the right one. Like where the Patriots in
this whole matter, Like why don't they have his back?
(30:03):
This is very peculiar in the sense, yeah, in the
sense that why if if it again being team team
cleared or team approved to go do this doctor's appointment,
why is there not a outward declaration of listen cam
(30:25):
is and maybe maybe them not saying anything better because
nothing has been said that is in a derogatory or
less than glowing fashion of camp. Reports are the Patriots
are frustrated with him, and I've I've heard that, like
you know, they said, what came from Adam Schefter or
couple a couple of people that that reported that they were.
(30:46):
But again, if that is the case that you're frustrated
with Cam over this in particular, then yes, that's peculiar
because it's like, why would you not support the fact that,
you know, he took the test even though it was
the wrong test, he went through the proper protocol, and
even though the protocol what there was a mistake within
(31:06):
the protocol approach. Man, it wasn't like he was going
to get lemon pepper wings like you know Lou Williams
and was stopped over at the spot and through a
couple of ones and maybe I guess you're gonna have
to sit out five days, may as well get some
wings and uh, you know, some perfume on you, you
know what I mean. But but you know, there's there's
(31:27):
always you know, there's always the idea of perspectives. Like
one person could say that's a bad man, and another
person could say that is a bad man. Right, One
perspective is that really is a bad person, like horrible
(31:49):
person shouldn't be on the streets. This that another or
it could be the other perspective like that is a
really really cool dude. They do some really really like
amazing things. Right. I don't know if if this was
taking out of context in terms of saying the Patriots
are frustrated. Maybe they're just frustrated in the fact that,
(32:12):
you know, what, why does this keep happening to Cam?
We're not upset with Cam, but why does it like
it happened last year? You know, you get COVID last year,
you we get into this season where you know, we're
trying to get ahead of it, this, that and the other.
You know, we feel good about Cat. Cam look really
good in his last came that he played in, So
why not be frustrated that man? Like now we're gonna
(32:35):
lose some days with Cam um and he's doing really well.
We're in a really, really good spot. So to me,
it's just all about the perspective of it. Sometimes we
have to be a little bit more responsible and careful
and how we report things, because when you hear okay,
they're frustrated, it's very easily to draw your own conclusion like, Okay,
(32:57):
we have a history of wanting to be frustrated with
things as that Cam has done. Right, Yeah, but what
if for two minutes we're sitting here and we're saying
we really believe we can be a competitive team with
Cam at the helm of our offense and the leader
of our team, and now we don't have him for
a critical moment in time, even though as Brady mentioned,
(33:21):
we're not even gonna use him, but we can't have
him in practices and have his presence because of this
protocol that could have been the context and which the
frustration was not frustration like, Okay, we need Mac Jones
to step up so that Cam Cam. You know, we
could get rid of Cam because we're frustrated with him
and we're we're tired of this COVID stuff with Cam.
(33:42):
But I think they could have made it clear and
not left it out there for interpretation. But that's what
New England does. They don't give you everything you want.
It's a out cake. The coverage here Fox Sports Radio,
Jonas knocks Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington coming up next, Brady
Quinn is piste. Watch out World, It's going down next year.

(34:28):
do yourself of favor and listen to Inside the Parker
with Rob Parker on the I Heart Radio app or
wherever you get your podcast. It's now kick the coverage
here on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn, LaVar
Arrington with you here on FS are coming up in
about ten minutes from now, a very puzzling situation that
an NFL coach has put his team and his fans in.
(34:51):
We will get to that here, Tim and on FS
are so Brady, Jonas, I mean yeah, because you never
know when the stories change. But Brady, I don't know
if you know this, but there was a new survey
that came out that listed Notre Dame's fighting Irish leprechron
(35:14):
as the fourth most offensive college football mascot. Now, I mean,
we don't even need to get into the top three,
but I mean, listen, I'm outraged as well too, and
LaVar you being Irish, I know you're outrage as well too.
This is just really bothersome. Brady that this is happening.
I'm look, I'm irish. I'm from Dublin. Okay, mind you, ohile,
(35:37):
but still from Dublin. And of going to Notre Dame,
the eleprin everything with it was part of, you know,
not not a huge factor, but part of the reason
why when when I went there, I thought, this is cool.
This is really cool. I don't think it is um
by any means offensive. I think this article it has
(35:59):
some points. I think if you want to point to
some other mascots, I'm not going to speak on that.
But this is one of the dumbest things, the dumbest
things I have ever read. In fact, I think Notre
Dame was a good job of celebrating leper cons, not
that they're even a real thing. I was about to
say they're a legend, right, Like that's like this even
(36:21):
really exists. That the dumb and this is what happens
this time of year. You'll get people in the media
and especially around college football starting up. They just throw
Notre Dame's name in there, and people are outraged because
people either love or and so as long as you
incorporate are really something Notre Dame, people are going to
click on it, and that's what this is about. So
(36:41):
shame on whoever did this article and this survey. It's
the dumbest thing I've ever You want to know, the
most brilliant thing they do nowadays, And I pay attention
to this. You'll see it when there's when there's a
prop bet that comes out because gambling is so prevalent.
You know, the team that's always mentioned, like, oh, where's
his next destination? The Cowboys every single time, even if
it doesn't make sense, even if even if they're not
(37:02):
even like it would make no sense for them to
make a move or sign a player, If the Cowboys
are there, it generates interest. So I agree. I think
this is absolutely them putting Notre Dame in there because
they knew it was going to get outrage, and they
knew it was going to be talked about in the
national radio Showsive that I can find about a leper
con is how many kids have had nightmares and have
(37:23):
been scared the hell out of and me being one
of them by the movie like that little dude scared
the But Jesus, it looks like it looks like I've
never been one to watch horror flicks. But let me
tell you something. That dude, he scared me. It looks
like Ron Howard's brother. I'll tell you ever seen Ron
(37:46):
Howard's brother. He's in all of Ron Howard's films. He's
always some side character he looks like. No, I'm just
saying like, it looks a lot like him. You know
something that do an impression? Jonas of it? No, I can't.
I'm not. I'm not going down that road. I want.
But can you do it? No? I can't do it. No,
I can't. I can't. Brady touching on it. I tried.
(38:08):
By the way, can we also call it what it is?
Lucky Charms? Most overrated cereal on the planet. Admit that
you're right there, I'm going, I'm what are we talking
about here? Can I think I think any cereal were
like half the cereal? You're just trying to focus on that.
Eat that which are the marshmallows. The rest of the
cereal you don't even want. You don't ask the nutritional value.
(38:29):
But then it's like all my kids pick out the
Lucky Charms, there's nothing left. You're right, You're right. Once
the marshmallows are gone, the fun is over. Yeah, And
by the way I tried to sneak that that those
grains come on skip and go straight to Guinness next time.
