Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's the best of two pros and a couple Joe
with Lamar Arrington, Rady Win and Jonas Knox on Fox Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
We had ourselves a theft in the NFL last night.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
No, I don't know about that man. That's just Captain Kirk.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm you know, he's just changing narratives about him every
single step at a time. Good for Kirk Cousins victory primetime, Kirk.
A victory is a victory. Though I don't know. It
looked like he was last Can I tell you the
three phases? So I went through three phases of blame.
You know they say there's like phases of grief, right,

(00:41):
So like in the moment, I'm thinking, so, why the
hell is Philadelphia throwing the ball in that spot and
stopping the clock in an incomplete pass? And then I
let that settle down, and I thought, why the hell
did Saquon Barkley drop that ball?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
That was very catchable?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
That well, then that settled down, and then I said,
why the hell couldn't the defense get a stop because
they went down the field and it looked easy.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
That's the way my son's team lost last week. It's
kind of disheartening. You play a hell of a game.
You play a defensive struggle game. Somehow, some way, your
offenses start to get it going. Both teams are scoring,
and the game looks all but over one last drive
and you don't stop them. I don't get it. How

(01:28):
are you going to play defense so well the entire
game and then let Kirk get you on the last
on the last draft Which I'm not an Eagles fan
to begin with, but I'm not an Atlanta fan either,
so I know I was blown away.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I was shocked. I was like, this is that is
about to turn the game off? Is that the defensive perspective?

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Though?

Speaker 6 (01:48):
Looking at it that way, probably so, because I always
think like for a quarterback, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Like, dude, goes my, that's what comes in your head.

Speaker 6 (01:57):
Yeah, when you get that ball and you get that drive,
you're like, hell, yeah, man, here's our shot.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
This is I love that stuff. That was always my favorite.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
It's pretty dope, best dope perspective, dude, that's all it is.
I want to cuss at you right now, like I
really do, But that's like, think about it.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
Since I was little, like playing quarterback, that's always what
you dreamt of, hope for you wanted.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
That last draft.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
Hell yeah, Like, honestly, the worst two minute drives are
the ones before half because oftentimes, like the play call
is not gonna be as aggressive.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
For one to two reasons. Either if you get the.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Ball out of half, they're like, all right, let's see
if we get off to a good store, we'll do
something with it here. Or if you make a mistake
and it gives the other team momentum, then it's like
all right. But for the most part, like a two
minute drives, a two minute drive, its just a lot
more fun for the quarterback, especially for like that was
more of a pocket passer. But that was the moment
too where it's like, hell yeah, I'll get to run
around a little bit trying to create. Like everything felt

(02:58):
a lot more free and open compared to like the
normal offense offensive sets. So I love that for Kirk Cousins, dude,
because there's this narrative about him, you know, And I
worked with Pete Prisco, and I believe we're talking to
Pete today.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Is that correct?

Speaker 6 (03:13):
That's correct, which is awesome, Like we couldn't have set
up today's show any better for our listeners out there.
Pete Prisco as we heard him talk talking about Kirk
Cousins last week. Has buried guys like Kirk Cousins for
their entire career. I have no idea why, because Kirk
not only has been so successful from the bank account standpoint,

(03:34):
he's actually been pretty darn good too, and he's won
on the road in the playoffs, has done a lot.
He hasn't always had a lot of help around him,
but he's been a really good quarterback. Pete gives him
no respect, So I can't wait to hear the bs
that Pete's gonna spewed later on today.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Oh plus Will Levis, I mean he's a big Will
Levis guy too.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Yeah, this is gonna be a bad day for Pete.
He won't answer his phone. He might not answer his phone.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Lee, I will say I made some Pittsburgh stole Tomahawks
yesterday here, all right, I will say that.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
That's awesome. I mean, and some Brussels sprouts left up.

Speaker 6 (04:07):
You gotta start sending more food pictures, man, because the
last time you were sending that.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Did you not see my food picture from yesterday? Oh
hold on, hold on, I'm gonna send it to you guys.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Well, it probably makes me hungry though then I'm like,
I don't need deep and now I feel like eating.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Are you Are you a? Are you a? Blue cheese
crumbles and mushrooms?

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Guy?

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I could do that. Oh yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Just so man, Wow, is that fire bro that's on
that oonie? I cooked that on the oonie, put on
the Twitter whatever it's called style, man. And if you
notice I have it on the cutting board. I didn't
even me and Trichy. I didn't even use a plate, Like,
didn't even use the plate, just ate it right off
the cutting board.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Savage.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Yeah, man, that's right. Man. Man wanted a tomahawk yesterday.
So yeah, he's going to get one. You know, the
boy going to be he's been going to be something
one day. So I got him one.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
You want to sign of Sirianni to go with that? Time, tang,
Let's get a side of Syriana? Right. So here he
was blue cheese crumbles on there.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Here was the Eagles head coach explaining why they threw
the ball on third and three on that second to
last drive.

Speaker 7 (05:14):
They were running a certain defense and junking it up
in the middle. So we're trying to go on around
the outside and uh, you know, it didn't working thinking
about knowing the decision to pass it there again, like
I said, you know what, they were junking it up
inside with it being fourth and three to go for it.

(05:36):
I thought, you know, with them not having any timeouts,
I wanted to be down a touchdown and and see
if they could drive the field.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
And then they did. Hats off to them.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Damn right, you didn't, Dion say that, coach prompt say
that the other week, we're going to take what they
give us. They give us the pads, they're they're playing
to run, They're going, we're gonna take what they give us.
My my thing is he was open, he was open, open,
right play call?

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Who was open? Wrong outcome?

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Dang Let me ask you this, But isn't that wouldn't
you think to try to run it twice in that scenario,
even if they were loading up the box. I mean
to one one run, one push push, I mean, what
does the book say, Q Like what like it was the.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
I mean, right, we go back on it and that now,
because this is what gets really confusing with the whole
like win probability is oftentimes, like it'll tell you, in
that case, you try to go for a touchdown, right,
But it doesn't always factor into the element of time.
It's only playing over the callis scenarios we've seen before

(06:45):
with that amount of time when the clock and all that,
So I'm trying.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
To go with a lot of time.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
I think it was two timeouts and it was like
one one minute and like thirty some second something like
that to that effect. It was something like one minute
and something.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Minute and a half left. I think Atlanta had one
time out remains, was it one or two?

Speaker 6 (07:04):
One though, So let's say they've run the football there,
they're still going to stop the clock. And on top
of that, I mean Philly had a shot to come back.
I mean, that's how fast Atlanta moved the ball down
the field.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
They did at Philly had two timeouts coming out. I
believe coming out of that that scoring draft maybe that's
what it was. I don't understand how they let like
why do you not pressure them that? It's like they
went into a prevent style of defense, like keep them
in front of you. Like I don't understand why they

(07:37):
would be so passive in their coverage and and well
not so much in their coverage but in getting pressure
on Kirk cousins of it. There was no pressure on
them on that last drive. It was all coverage.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Matt Ryan was on the Manning cast and he was
saying that in that spot, if you're struggling to find
your rhythm in a new offense, is sometimes the two
minute drill is the best thing for you, because.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Yeah, it's honestly, it's not even if you're even a
new offense. Oftentimes, on an offense is struggling or a
quarterback struggling to find a.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Rhythm, you just play more up tempo.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
And not that this has like led to why you
see a lot more of those up tempo offenses in college,
but you see a lot of college quarterbacks who play
on those offenses have a hard time not, you know,
trying to play in a more traditional offense because it's
harder to get into a rhythm because it's at a
slower pace. You're not throwing the football quite as much.

(08:30):
When you're out there in an up tempo offense or
like two minutes. It feels like a point guard when
you're playing basketball, and so you just you feel like
you're a little bit more in the flow of the
game and moving around more and everything else so there's
some truth to that sometimes. You know, Charlie Weis used
to kind of mix that up off and on throughout
the course of his career as a play caller, whether
he was in New England or even when I had

(08:50):
him back when he was a Notre Dame. But even
when he went back up to the pros, that was
his change up. He'd say, all right, let's go two
minute like this. You know, first quarter hasn't been going well,
and he would mix up tempo a little bit in
and out and it would help a quarterback get out
of the funk a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
By the way, I think Cousins is won. Has he
won his last four Monday Night game or he's won
four of his last five Monday Night games? So yeah,
great job there, Joe. Hey, listen, he's just changing the
way that you talk about him and me. Yes, and
you've been burying him for three years about he can't
perform on primetime, he's not worth the money. He's saying that, yes,

(09:30):
and so here he is just proving all the doubters
wrong and all the haters out there wrong. Good for
Kirk Cousins man, Guys, getting I never said that and
I'm a Kirk Cousins fan, and he's got another primetime
game coming up as well too, So we're gonna get
How do we feel about Atlanta?

Speaker 3 (09:47):
I thought they did a great job. I mean I
felt like.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
I even without aj Brown being in the game, I
felt like there would be a lot more offense from
Philadelphia last night. Am I wrong for that? I mean
I kind of felt like this would be an offensive game.
Oh no, not a defensive game. I thought it would
have been way more offense going on. I told you,
I'm highland Atlanta.

Speaker 8 (10:10):
Man.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I think Raheem Morris is going to do a really
good job with this defense.

Speaker 6 (10:13):
That the defense was pretty solid last year for they were,
so I think they're going to challenge a lot of people. Look,
the NFC South looks legit when you look at well
three of the four teams.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, I can't say much about Carolina. We'll get into that.
Which that did break by heart that news yesterday. Man.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
I don't know why, but I think Atlanta's got is
a more complete team than people realize. And that's why
they attacked the quarterback position in the offseason the way
they did, and a lot of people criticized it.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
A lot of people.

Speaker 6 (10:42):
Said, hey, what are you doing, Like, how are you
going to take a top ten quarterback is not going
to play? That's where this roster is at. I mean
the pickup of Dardell Moody has been huge. You saw
his impact last nights. But Cousins now with Penix, they're
like waiting in the wings, like it's it's just you've
got to You've got a lot of talent there. And
I think this team is going to be a playoff
team when it's all said done, as good as everyone

(11:04):
else has been, I'm telling you, I think Atlanta's to
be a playoff team.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Uh yeah, big win for Atlanta last night, a bad
loss for Philly, and we're off and running here on
our Tuesday morning here.

Speaker 1 (11:14):

but definitely join us. Listen to over Promised with Cavino
and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever

Speaker 2 (12:31):
We've got ourselves. The second installment though, of a little
something we do.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Yes, come on, who needs the AP top twenty five.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I'm just seeing things that I never thought exist.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
When you've got the VQ Top fifteen right.

Speaker 6 (12:45):
Anyway, we go, all right, ladies and gentlemen, we kick
this thing off by looking at this week's poll compared
to the last week's poll. Say, at the number one spot,
it's still the University of Texas absolutely drumming UTSA last
week fifty six to seven. Now there's a bit of
a concern. Quinn yours left the game with an abdominal

(13:06):
injury of some store or strain. Nowhere is though, as
everyone knows, Arch Manning is waiting in the wings. That's right,
son of Cooper Manning, nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning,
and he did not disappoint. Over two hundred and twenty
yards passing four touchdowns, ran for a touchdown as well
five total on the day and their big win over UTSA.

(13:26):
They've got the best win of the season. That's why,
much like last week, there's still at number one in
my opinion, but up to spots to number two. It's Tennessee,
it's another ut If you will drumming kent State seventy
one and nothing.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Now, this really didn't have much to do with who
they were playing.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
It's the fact of combining their dominance with what we
saw a week ago, being a top ten team at
that point in NC State and drumming them. This team
is as talented and as good as any in college football.
You can almost make a case maybe they should be
number one, but as of right now, I've got them
number two. Down one spot is Georgia. Yes, a close

(14:06):
win on the road, They're at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky.
Reminded me a little bit of that Georgia Miszoo game
dating back to previous years. But look, at the end
of the day, Carson Beck, Georgia found a way to win.
I do have the dock them though, one because it
just felt like something wasn't quite there, and especially versus

(14:27):
a Kentucky team that yes plays good defense, but has
struggled mightily this year offensively speaking. And spot and this
Moore has to do with the fact that they're coming
off of buys the Ohio State University. They'll have their
chances they get back into playing. Marshall will be there
for Big Neon Kickoff Big Noon Saturday. But they've also
been dominant this season. They may have the best defense

(14:47):
in the country. The offense, it's still coming along under
offic cornator Chip Kelly, as Will Howard tries to kind
of settle into that this may be the best group
of wide receivers. By the way, Chip Kelly has ever
had as a play or head coach ever in his
career at the college level.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
So that's kind of saying something.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
But that's the reality of where Ohio State's at up
to number five, or should say at number five, is
Old Miss staying the exact same. Jackson Dart's putting on
a clinic. He's leading the country and passing right now.
But another team that drum Wake Forest forty to six.
They actually beat them so bad. They were supposed to
do it home and home apparently, and wake Forest says, nope,

(15:27):
we're gonna buy out of it. So wake Forest actually
paid Old Miss one million dollars to have to not
play them again next season. So that's how bad they
Miss beat down. Wake Forest up one spot the number
six is Alabama. They get a nice road win going
up to Madison, Wisconsin to beat the Badgers. Now, the

(15:48):
game was pretty lopsided, and that usually is the case
when you lose your starting quarterback early in the game,
like Wisconsin did, although I don't know that it would
have made much of a difference. Obama is still one
of the best teams country. Jalen Milroll putting on a
clinic through the air with something. His downfield passing was
fun to watch. Down on spots Miami to number seven. Honestly,
I've kind of been battling back and forth because I

(16:10):
love cam Ward the guys put his name in conversation
for the Heisman, but also being a top ten pick.
The way he's playing so far this year, he is
the high tide. I'll keep saying this that raises all
boats there in South Florida. So keep an eye on
Miami moving forward to take care of the acc player.
But they drummed ball State sixty two to nothing.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Usc USC.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
I've got a number eight sent spot as they were
just a week ago, another team that I think again,
the defense looks improved. Probably what's flying under the radars.
Their offensive line much bigger, much more physical.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
They're running the football.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
Just it feels a little bit different right now for
Southern cal as they begin to head into to Big
Ten play. Coming up this week number nine, Maszoo up
to spots.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Not saying that.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
I'm not a believer in this team, but I needed
to see them get a good win. They got against
the Bill O'Brien led Boston College this past week in Colombia,
having to come back by the way in this one,
but a top twenty five ranked opponent. A nice win
for Britty Cook and the boys. I got them up
at number nine right now. Oregon stays at number ten,

(17:16):
Penn State down a couple spots of the by This
doesn't have anything to do with Penn State necessarily, more
to do with some of what's happening out around them.
Utah same spot at number twelve. Kansas State up one spot,
but Kansas State's also got a tough matchup this week.
They have to still Water take on Oklahoma State. It's
down one that sits at number fourteen in my poll,
and we'll see how those two score off. Winner is

(17:37):
going to be in the driver's seat of the Big twelve,
or at least looking to face potentially Utah. And I
know it's early, but that's where we're at and then
Nebraska a number fifteen, same spot as they were just
a week ago. They still continue to deliver, drumming Northern
Iowa thirty.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Four to three.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
And that is your top fifteen heading in to week
four of the college football season.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
I'm talking about right there. Put that in your ap
pipe and smoke it, bam.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
I'm talking about smoke it. USC Michigan. How do we
feel about USC Michigan.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
You gotta feel good about it. I mean Michigan bench.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
Davis Warren is starting quarterback this past week, so it's
the Alex Orgy Show, and he has shown it to
not be able to throw the football effectively very well.
So that's been one of the reasons why Davis Warren,
he's a form of walk on tremendous story. I mean,
for those who don't know, he battled leukemia back when
he was in high school and was kind of directed
He's from the South Bay area, but he was directed

(18:35):
to go to Jim Harbaugh Michigan. They thought he was
the right kind of quarterback for them, ended up earning
a scholarship and now earned an opportunity to lease start
the season as the Wolverine starting quarterback. With three picks
last week just looks the offens just looks completely a
shade of what it was a year ago under JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
So they're going to Alex Orgy.

Speaker 6 (18:55):
He's more of a work in progress as a passer.
Big physical specimen though, So if you like running the football,
you're gonna see a lot of that. It'll be interesting
to see what they do offensively to be able to
combat what is a potent offense. I mean, the wide
receivers are legit at Southern cal. They've got speed, they've
got size, they can make big plays down the field.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
The running games there too for them.

Speaker 6 (19:19):
So it feels like Wink Martindale, the defensive coordinator for
mission's going to have his hands full. The one thing
I'll say and to keep an eye on, is how
much pressure Michigan brings. Wig Martindale's always been known for this,
he did at the NFL level. He brings constant pressure,
sometimes too much, and guys get out of their rush
lands and get out of their gaps. It creates seams

(19:40):
on some of those running plays, or creates big opportunity
in the passing game. So I would say, you know,
USC is by far the favor right now, Michigan just
does not look like a team that's trying.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
To defend a national championship.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Now, how close was Notre dameed being in the top fifteen.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
They were close. I had them at number sixteen. They
were right on the outside looking in. But I couldn't
put a team that's two and one over a three
to oo Nebraska team at this point, especially the way
Nebraska has looked. It was a great win versus Perdue,
but Perdue was also voted to be the last place
team in the Big Ten as far as eighteen teams,
so I don't want to make too much of it,
but that was the type of response that I think

(20:18):
if you're a Notre Dame fan, you're hoping for, you're
looking for. But there's still some concerns. I mean, the
starting quarterback doesn't have a touchdown pass and we're heading
into week four of college football, and meanwhile, you're back
up and third stringer both were able to showcase the
ability to throw the football down the field. So that's
a big time concern. And they had a number of injuries.

(20:38):
We lost one offensive lineman for the rest of the season,
a starter, lost another one for a period of time,
lost one of our edge players for the rest of
the season, so the injuries are also starting to mount up,
and that would be the concern I think heading to
this week versus Miami and Ohio, you're gonna say, hey,
it's a MAX school, but look, Miam of Ohio is
one of the best teams in the MAC. If they
struggled versus Northern Illinois, look Calpmaia Ohio. Then at this point,

(21:02):
especially with some of the offensive line issues they're facing.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, we found out
that the game. So we're going to be in State
College next week doing the show there and they'll be
playing Illinois, and we found out that's going to be
a night game.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
So that's the opening. I'll say this man, do not
sleep on this Illinois team.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Bret Brett Bilama.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
But Luke Altmeyer, the their quarterback who transferred I believes
at Ole miss U he could sling it. They got
some playmakers too on the outside. He has added a
different element to this team. Underrett Bilama, they've typically been
more of a running team and it's been the quarterback
play that at times has held them back, not anymore.
All Meyer presents them a great opportunity to actually make
some plays in the passing game. So this, this will

(21:48):
be a bigger challenge than I think people realize. Remember
they knocked off Kansas, who was a top twenty team
earlier this season.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Two weeks of preparation. We're good, ready to go. Yeah,
we'll be good, I hope. So man, no good, some
slow starts, not a relax relax cut, just one.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
I'm just being objective. We got to objective. So we
got two weeks. Any quotes, any any good well subjective?
Is any good coach worth?

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Yeah? Whatever?

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Object I don't want to object that off, you know,
I want to be subjective purely on this one.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
I mean, we've got two weeks to prepare for him.
We're good, Illinois, relax, y'all, worry about y'all teams about that.
Illinois goes on the road to Lincoln, pulls off the
upside of Nebraska. Next thing you know, they're coming in,
firing on all cylinders. Penn State struggles against Kent State
and who knows, all of a sudden, what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
John? I'm just saying, who's your dads, did you go
to school? Who do you play for? What are you
doing right now?

Speaker 2 (22:48):
It adds a little spice to a night game there
at Beaver Stadium. I'm listening. I've heard that two weeks
to prepare.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
I mean, is it a white out? They doing out?
Not good enough for white out? Who's Illinois is not good.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Enough for a white out?

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Right now? They're not good enough for white Outkay? So
you guys don't consider.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
It generally, Yeah, generally it's it's Ohio State or or
Michigan that we do our white outs. We try to
at least, just depends on Yeah, no, right.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
The problem for Illinois is they have to get through
Nebraska first. Nebraska is as you said, Jonas is playing
Illinois this Saturday night, eight pm on five.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
We can't it's Friday night, actually Friday. Three weeks to
prepare for Illinois. By the way, because we have Kent,
it's basically two by weeks in a row.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
You're good. Yeah, that's gonna be uh, that's gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
So and that's the that's their big ten opener Penn State,
I think. So it'll be uh night game there and
so if people in Philly are tailgating at five thirty
in the morning for a night game for the Eagles.
Is that about the same what they're doing in State
College to get ready for that night.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Game fifteen hours the morning. I mean, we've tailgate in
the morning. That's that's a night times the tailgate start.
Mine started at nine thirty last last last game thirty
What time is the kick seven or seven thirty pm?

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yes? Oh wow, yees, you got you got, you got
ten hours of.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
Getting They send jaw picture. I'm gonna send jab video
of what what ends up happening today?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
They serve alcohol in the stadium?

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Is this the video of it? It's not, I mean
it's not.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
We didn't catch the mosh pit on camera, but there
were some interesting moments cut on.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
Have you ever called it de lapping, because I've heard
it's called that before.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
I don't know, man.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
I mean, so you got ten hours and they now
serve booze in the stadium. So people are just a disaster.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
I mean, bro just buckled. Yeah, I mean that's yeah,
just a part of it.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
Man.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
You know, you got to know how to pace yourself.
You got to know how to do it, you know,
that's all. It just comes along with it. You know,
you just got to know how to do it the
right way, otherwise it could go horribly wrong for you.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
I just sent you Jesus, that's just a video. That's
a great setup. Though. Well I don't know. You guys
have baseball on the back. I guess you're a baseball
feels Yeah, it looks like Mike McDaniel. It is that
guys himself. Oh, hey, brouh. It was.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
It was ugly, it was, it got ugly, got ugly,
but but it was fun. It was a great time.
And you got a rally. You know when when you
go when you find yourself going harder than what you
originally anticipated. You heard Lee, Well you got a little
harder than what you originally anticipated. That how hard you
were going to go. You got a rally, that's all.

(26:21):
You got a rally. Check that video out, I said,
y'all too, And yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
All right, little little p and R yeah little wonders,
not me.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Yeah, there is no rally after that. Once it once
it leaves, that's a sign that it does not want
to be in there anymore. And uh, maybe just get
a gloss of wine. I got snuck up on. I
did get snuck up on last week and during the tailgate,
it snuck up on me. I shook it off, but
it did sneak up at your p and R. No, No,
I didn't have to. I wasn't that bad. I didn't

(27:01):
feel sick off of it. I just it snuck up
on me. Like it was like, oh, like my vision
got a little blurry for like two seconds, like dang,
Like all right, we here, like I'm really doing like
college tailgates now again in my life, in my later
part of my life.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
You know, well listen, it'll be a good time there.
Stay college. Oh yeah, you'll be able to be a
part of this.

Speaker 8 (27:24):
Now.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
It'll be interesting if Lee is a part of our
tailgate and he gets with my man, then I sent
you on the video.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
That will be pretty entertaining.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Seems like a terrible idea, I mean, it just seems
like it'd be fun.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
It is uh Pete Prisco Time here on Fox Sports Radio,
Senior AP Sports, also a CBS Sports HQ analyst Pete,
we always appreciate you making some time wars here on
a Tuesday morning.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Was shot. I mean the four man rush.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
He looks right, looks left, under pressure, tripped up, throws
it backwards. HiT's loose on the ground. Let's grab a fork,
Quincy will take away. Let us panicked and flipped the
ball backwards and he was about to go down and turn.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
The fields backwards. Pass defense was down.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Quincy Williams found the loose ball. The ball at Jets
Radio Network. On the call, Pete, I apologize for that.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
The gates swing.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
There's some hooligans here like to uh stir it up
here on the show apparently, so I apologize for that.

Speaker 8 (28:39):
That's okay, that's Brady. That's Brady. I know that's coming
from the.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Don't said anything.

Speaker 8 (28:45):
He should be ripping the kid. What the hell is
he doing. I'm a big I'm a big will Levis guy.
Still think it would be good. He's made some really
good rows in there. But my gosh, you can't be
that dumb in a game. Two times in one in
one season, in two games, are you kidding me? No?

(29:06):
Wonder what Brian Tally is And by the way Brady's
gonna give me a crap about Will, Then let's slip
it to the other side, Brady Bright Young, Bryce Young,
Bryce Young, Bryce Young, Oh he's not too little, Bryce Young. Well,
what happens? He's benched there for two games?

Speaker 6 (29:21):
Tang Yeah, yeah, benched after two games of this second season.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
And I will be the first to me. We talked
about this earlier.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
He obviously has struggled mightily, even just the beginning of
this year. And last year you could chalk out the
rookie mistakes. This year scars, whatever you want to call it.
But I do have to ask you about another game,
the one that ended last night.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Lee, Can I vamp any longer? Do we have any sex?

Speaker 8 (29:46):
A snap?

Speaker 1 (29:47):
Kirk looks sales it.

Speaker 9 (29:48):
Drake there cud touch down Atlanta, Drake London for the
first time in fourteen games.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
He stands in the in zone and the Falcons are
tied at the game with thirty four second.

Speaker 6 (30:02):
Just a hell of a play by Cousins at primetime
and a big spot Pete great win, great two minute drive.

Speaker 8 (30:07):
Right, Yeah, he's out four and twelve in primetime, So
give him credit for it. I mean, I mean and
and by the way if you really want to, you
know me, I always gotta go to the negative side
of things, Sirianni about a run, run and play, and
then if you have to do the touch ports, then
you go there. They have no time to go win
the game's over, the game's over. Cousins has no chance

(30:28):
to do that if Seriani isn't so greedy in that scenario.
So yeah, look, give Kirk Cousins credit. He made the
throws when he had to. The Eagles had defensive problems,
by the way, in a big way. I don't care
who's coordinating that defense, Fangio, whoever. It's just not very
good right now. But give Kirk Cousins credit. He made
the throws when he had to, and he was given
an opportunity, a golden opportunity by Nick Sirianni.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Pete.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
Looking at the games this past weekend, did any of
them jump out at you, like anything in particular, things
that you've been looking at, things that have you know,
have you scratching your head, or things that have you
feeling positive? Was it the Raiders going into Boltimore? Was
it Arizona Cardinals spanking the Rams? Like what jumped out
at you? This weekend.

Speaker 8 (31:12):
We know what jumps out out at me across the
league is how horrible the offensive line play is in
the sleep we've taken offensive line play because they don't
hit in training camp. It's so bad right now, and
the defenders are so fast and athletic, and teams are
playing all these shelf covers of these quarterbacks, they have
almost had no chance. Even the great quarterbacks aren't putting
up big time numbers, and the average quarterbacks are putting

(31:34):
up bad numbers. And so I think that's a big
struggle in the NFL right now. You know, touchdown passes
are way down, the passing numbers are way down, and
I think it's a byproduct of bad offensive line play.
And if you're an NFL quarterback right now, you are
getting blasted on a regular basis, even more so than
you have it any other time in your career. So

(31:54):
the NFL has to do something about that. They have
to sit back and say, we can't hit in training camp.
How the hell our offensive lineman going to learn how
to block and pass protect in a real game when
they don't play it all. So I think it's a
real problem.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Run the damn ball, Pete Run the damn ball.

Speaker 8 (32:10):
That's how well you're seeing that, Brady, You're seeing a lot.
If you look at the Packers yet, you know they
won with Bleik Willis because they put in a run
the power run game and they ran the football. And
I think the more of these teams play off, You're right,
they're going to have to start running the football and
running it better. Because if you east can't pass protect
and nobody can pass protect, you're gonna get your quarterback
hurt in a big way.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
He's Pete Prisco, senior NFL columnist, CBS Sports HQ analyst,
joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Pete, if you
were advising to a tongue of Iloa, what would you
tell him?

Speaker 8 (32:42):
Listen to the doctors, Listen to your family. And I've
said this on Twitter. I mean everybody on Twitter is
extra whatever it is now, is a doctor. You know,
we wow, you know we're gonna You shouldn't play. I
think I know, well, you don't know. It's his decision.
It's his personal decision. Uh, listen to the doctors, Listen
to your family. If they don't want you to play,
you don't play. If they want you to play, they

(33:04):
say you can play, then play. I think it's pretty
much that that's the decision. It's his decision. But oh,
I wouldn't play. I wouldn't do that. It's not your decision.
We can't be saying that. Delvill is me. I'd listen
to my family. I would. I make sure my family
would would be, you know, on top of it and
tell me and and you know, I don't think they
would do the wrong thing, because I know my wife

(33:26):
always tells me if I get too old to do this,
she's yanking me off. I'm not embarrassing myself, So I
think she would do that when it relates to football.
So I let him make the decision. Let the doctors
and his family help him make that decision.

Speaker 6 (33:38):
Petter, I gotta ask you, if you were in this situation,
would it be the pison passion for the game of
football that would come out or would it be the
one hundred and twenty some million dollars you'd be sacrificing
if you were clear but shows not to come back
and play, which would.

Speaker 8 (33:51):
It be, Well, that's a lot of money. But but Brady,
you know, how do they clear him? How do they
clear him? You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (34:03):
I mean they find ways, Pete. They find ways.

Speaker 8 (34:06):
Yeah, well okay, but if he's not clear and he
gets the money.

Speaker 6 (34:08):
So I've told you what you do this is terrible.
Is what everyone used to do back in college and
the NFL. You literally dumbed down your baseline test for
your impact tests, all the tests you take beforehand, so
that way, when you are concussed, they feel like it
looks normal, so you get you get a passing grade.
That's what we used to do.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Believable.

Speaker 8 (34:28):
But I mean if I had a choice between one
hundred and thirty million and to get another concussion, and
have you know somebody said this to me the other day,
he's already probably past where it's going to get any worse, right,
So you might maybe you can play on who knows
hundred and twenty million.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Dollars money exactly, Pete.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
That's why I said for you, it's not it's not
about the pizon bashion to be about the money in
this case.

Speaker 8 (34:54):
I mean, you know, if it was me me personally, yeah,
I probably I probably play. I probably play, But that
would be my decision though, because I take probably twenty
million of that and put it in one hundred dollars
bills in a room and go dive in there every
day to soon as the.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Pain from my cut, Pete, did the Carolina Panthers make
the right call in benching Bryce Young?

Speaker 8 (35:21):
Oh? No, they did not. I don't think they did.
I never thought Bryce Young was going to be any good.
I don't. I still don't think he's going to be anything.
But this is way too early, way too early. Let
it play out a little bit. Two games, two games
with a new staff and a new offense and new players,
and you're already pulling the plug on them. I think
they let it play like six seven, eight weeks and

(35:44):
then go from there. I personally don't think it was
it was the right decision to pull him. I don't
think he's going to be good, but I don't think
it's the right decision.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
To pull him out of it right now, Pee, Pete.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
You know Brady Quinn's New York Jets and is QB
Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 8 (36:01):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (36:02):
They won against Tennessee. They got it done. They got
a New England coming up.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (36:08):
How are you looking at this match up? What does
this represent to pp?

Speaker 3 (36:14):
Well?

Speaker 8 (36:14):
You know, New England's an interesting team because they play
hard for girod mao. They played tough for girod Mao.
And I think when you when you look at them,
they're not great talent wise, but they were in that
game the other day. And you know, the Jets, on
the other hand, have had defensive struggles. Who the hecker?
Who are they on that side of the ball, And
they've had problems over there. They've been pushed around a

(36:36):
little bit. Uh So they need to tighten that up.
And Rogers, he's another guy. Look at his pedestrian numbers.
I mean, you want to talk about pedestrian numbers, Rogers,
Herbert Barren. So all these supposed quarterbacks are putting up
bad numbers and he's one of them. So they got
to get that offense going. But more than that, the
defense has been a little concerning to me.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
H Pete Prisco joining us here on Fox Sports Radio,
CBS Sports HQ senior NFL columnists for CBS Sports as well.
So I got to ask you, you're the mayor of Jacksonville,
how much did we overrate the Jaguars playoff comeback win
over the Chargers a couple of years ago? Because this
team feels like it is a far cry from what

(37:16):
everybody expected them to be going into last year. And
they renamed the stadium after their quarterback, and they still
put together a bag of crap on Sunday.

Speaker 8 (37:24):
A brilliant move, by the way, to do that during
the season before a game, to give somebody more AMMO
on you. I mean, come on, if you're going to
do something like that, do it in the offseason. That
was stupid and sophomoric and child. I thought it was
dumb to do it. But more than that, you talk
about them since that game, they've been a disaster. I mean,
and at some point Doug Peterson's got to start taking

(37:47):
some heat for that. The offensive just jointed. They kept
the same five offensive lineman other than Mitch Morts, who's
actually the best offensive line, and the rest of them
have played awful. Trevor lars isn't playing well. The receivers
Christian cur he's a non factor, and so I think
they have big problems. And they go to Buffalo this week,
and they go to Houston next week, so they're staring

(38:08):
zero four in the face, and I think then the
heat really gets on Doug Peterson. The offense. By the way,
you mentioned I'm glad you mentioned that Chargers game. That's
the best that Trevor Lawrence has ever played. The best.
You know why you have to play that way because
he was allowed to. They're too restrictive off They threw
eleven passes in the first half on Sunday. They don't
drive the ball down the field. They throw fifty thousand

(38:32):
bubble screens in the past two years. It's a predictable offense.
And they need to start driving the ball down the
field to play fast, do something different, and if they don't,
they got big problems.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
Pete, you're the mayor of Jacksonville. Is Doug Peterson potentially
in the hot seat? I mean they've committed financially to
Trevor Lawrence. They named the stadium kind of after him.
It seems like the only person on the hot seat would.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Be Thata coach.

Speaker 8 (38:53):
Well, think about this, Brady. They get they just passed
the news Stagiu. They getting a new stadium, right, they got.
The owner came out money on that pass rusher. They
spent money on the quarterback, so that's a lot of money.
And he came out before the season said this is
the best team he's ever had. The older said that
basically saying win or you're in trouble. And you know what,

(39:13):
if they don't win, he is in trouble. If they
don't win, Trent Falkey should be out the door. You
already start hearing rumblings of infighting inside the building. And
that's I mean, we've seen that before with Trent Falkey.
He's done that before at other stops. He's done that
in Jacksonville. So it's not a good situation right now.
And if they don't win and don't pick it up,
heads will roll in Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
So my last question for you, Pete, is heading into
this weekend's games, who do you think quarterback wise, because
it seems like this is like a really really I mean,
it's always quarterback driven, but it just seems like there's
as you mentioned, like a lot of quarterbacks aren't playing
at the highest of levels. And looking at what's coming

(39:57):
up in this weekend slate of games, where are you looking?

Speaker 3 (40:01):
You know, this quarterback needs to do it and do
it at a high level.

Speaker 8 (40:06):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Is it somebody like Malik Willis? Is it? Is it?

Speaker 8 (40:10):
You know?

Speaker 4 (40:11):
I don't know, is a will Levis? Does he need
to bounce have a bounce back. I mean, I know
it's a pretty pretty big deal for what's going on
with maybe c J.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
Stroud.

Speaker 4 (40:21):
What what quarterback are you looking at this weekend that
you're saying, you know what, this guy needs to have
a good weekend out there on the field.

Speaker 8 (40:29):
Caleb Williams. I mean, let's be honest about it. I mean, KAYLEB.
Williams was the number one overall pick and it hasn't.
It hasn't looked good in two games. It just hasn't.
And you know, stuff he could do at USC can't
do in the NFL, and I think he's learning that.
But he's got to pick it up. I think you're
you know, he's the number one over a pick. You're
supposed to be the savior of the franchise after two

(40:50):
and it's only two games. But he's definitely one of
those guys. Will Levis needs to pick it up, no
question about that. As far as belike Willis, Yeah, backup quarterback,
Brady knows how I feel about backup quarterbacks. The backup
quarterbacks for a reason. He give you two three games
and then you get him the hell out of there
because they can't do anything more than that.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
For besides, Jake Browning almost took the bangles of the playoffs.
But yeah, or Gardoner Minshew who won this XT week?

Speaker 8 (41:11):
And how's he is? He starting around the league right now?
Breaking anywhere?

Speaker 6 (41:15):
Gardner Minshew is? Gardner Minshew is? You said that about
him for years now? I was starting in lass. They
just won this past nice, nice little drive. You got
a field goal to win it.

Speaker 8 (41:24):
Yeah, the clock will strike twelve on him too, because
you know what, he's a backup quarterback, that's what he is.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Well, I hope he proves you wrong, Pete. I hope
he does. Pete.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
This is my favorite part, uh bet that you lost
this weekend, that you were on the right side of.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
God.

Speaker 8 (41:42):
That's a good one. Let me see who got it?
Who bang went home to beats? I'm trying to think
I had. I know there is one the Giants. I
thought the Giants. The kicker got hurt. The Giants the
kicker doesn't get hurt.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
There we go.

Speaker 6 (41:58):
So you like, I mean the Giants also got beat
by seven field goals. Like your offense can't score points, Pete,
doesn't have to do with the kicker.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
Their offense can't score if.

Speaker 8 (42:08):
They had a kicker, they kick a field goal late
and win the game.

Speaker 6 (42:11):
Come on, you're insufferable, man.

Speaker 8 (42:15):
I have to say this. Me and Brady did picks
for years and years and years, and people love the picks,
and Brady beat me last year and the year before
and by a half. But last week I went in there,
I'm doing the picks with Kyle long now and the
guy comes up to me. He says, boy, the numbers
are so up on those picks on YouTube. It's amazing.

(42:38):
And I'm thinking, well, on the constant, there's a new
guy there, So what's the reason for that, Brady.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
I don't know, Pete.

Speaker 6 (42:46):
Someone already reached out to me and said the numbers
weren't up, so I don't have to tell you, pal.

Speaker 8 (42:50):
Dang, they're up, Brady, they're up. I don't know why
they're up, but they're up. You know what.

Speaker 3 (42:55):
Somebody's lying, Pete. I hate to tell you. I've heard otherwise.

Speaker 8 (43:01):
You know what, Though Brady was always so good about
his picks because he took him so personally and would
change him in the middle of the show just to
make sure that he could have a winning pick.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
I have to go, you know, that's all about getting
to win. That sounds like a guy's lost the past
two years, doesn't it. Guys.

Speaker 8 (43:20):
If I was on one side and Brady was on
that side on the rundown, by the time the pick
came out, he was on the other side.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
Yeah, because we never saw each other's picks.

Speaker 6 (43:28):
So obviously if I, if I saw that you were
on one side, I'd be like, all right, f Pete,
I'm just gonna go the other way.

Speaker 8 (43:34):
And here's another one. Guys, let me ask you this.
If Brady picked all the we were we were all
we were scoring was the side not the totals. If
Brady picked all the totals, should they have talented against
him or for him?

Speaker 6 (43:47):
If I was a pick of the total, Yeah, but
you weren't picking anything, though, Pete, So how can they
You'd be losing because even if like.

Speaker 3 (43:53):
He did more than you didn't pick any.

Speaker 8 (43:55):
It was it was let's put it this way, it
was rigged. It was rigged.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
That's that's the that's the go to.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
Goodbye, get him on Twitter or exago, CBS.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Thanks so much, man, We'll do it again next week. Allright.

Speaker 6 (44:10):
By the way, Just for the record, I beat these
socks off of him both regular seasons, and so we
would have to extend it into the postseason and he
still would lose. And we had to even incorporate prop
bets just to try to give him a chance of
getting closer.

Speaker 3 (44:26):

he can't live with himself that he lost. And by
the way, if you think that was bad, I used
to crush Canal and college picks, so yeah it was again.
He is just a sore loser because.

Speaker 6 (44:43):
He I now have that title over top of him
from here on out, moving forward for internity.

Speaker 3 (44:48):
You know, now done, He's Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
