It's the best of two pros and a couple of
joe with Lamar Areas, Brady Quinn and Jonas knocks on radio. Yeah, yeah,

(00:22):
throw my bar throw them up, throw them up. I
don't throw them up dogs, No, I just encourage you
to do it. Not allowed to come on snip that.
I'm not allowed. It's just a I respect it. So
I'm just like, you know, it's a very very old
tradition connected to throwing up the hooks. Yeah. Brady's taught

(00:45):
me all about it. Yeah, I mean, I know, took
me through the entire Do they have que dogs at
a Notre Dame? Do they have like black Greeks at
a Notre Dame? I'm assuming they would. Yeah, I mean
that that would be that would be my my guests.
I mean, I think actually Brady's researching that right now,
so we can go ahead and make sure that we

(01:06):
have the answer on that. But nonetheless, as soon as
we get the answer on that from Brady Quinn, it
is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here Fox
Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks with the here.
You can hang out with us as always on the
I Heart radio app. You can find us on hundreds
of affiliates all across the country and wherever the hell
you are making us a party your Friday morning. We
appreciate you doing so, and we will take you all

(01:28):
the way up until nine am Eastern times, six o'clock Pacific.
I do got to ask you that before we jump
into the festivities here. Do you still have your ring on?
Is the College Football Hall of Fame ring still on?
I'll take it off at night. I'll take it off
at night. What about showering, Yes, I take it off.
I give it a break. Okay, I give it a break.

(01:49):
I just wanted to make sure I showed everyone at
the holiday party that was that was the holiday party.
Uh deal for me? You know, I wanted everybody to
say that the holiday party. You know. It's perfect timing. Yeah,
you get to you. Yeah. So I don't know if
if you guys noticed this or not, But you know,
I'm just kind of scanning through some of my paperwork,

(02:12):
like looking through like, right, I couldn't have that ring.
I'll tell you that. If it for this, I wouldn't
be able to have that ring. I'll tell you that.
So it's like I'm looking through and I'm looking at,
you know, Monday, and I'm looking at Tuesday, and I'm like, okay,
Wednesday came around, you know, Thursday has some Thursday football
getting into and then I realized, all, for the love
of Christ, it's a football. It's a football Friday. Yeah. Yeah,

(02:33):
Friday Friday. Yeah, come on, football Friday. Technicalllll ring, it
is football Friday Friday. We're gonna do it the game, right, yeah,
come on? Sall fright. I thought it was so nice.

(02:57):
He did it twice, so I was it was in
for Roberto. He's probably not field all that great. Although
I do have an update on Berno coming up throughout
the show, because I did actually here. Okay, okay, after everything,
he's fine. There's there's two narratives I think that are
going based on last night. If if you follow the broadcast, okay,

(03:22):
and you're in the kirk Curb Street side of things,
you're saying, this is the greatest comeback of all time.
We've never seen a quarterback do this in the history
of the And also Baker Mayfield made a mockery of
training camp. I don't know if you heard that line
that he yes, no, there's no point, there's no point
going to training camp. I'm not sure if you know that. Um,
there's the other side of where you go if you're
a Raiders fan. What the hell was that? It's unbelievable.

(03:47):
They've got three of the worst losses that I can recall,
the Cardinals loss, the Jeff Saturday lost night in the Colt.
I'm gonna say, Jeff Saturday and whatever the hell that
was last night, No wonder know boozes up and then
walks home from bars. Now I get it. What the
hell happened? By the way, I think if they win

(04:08):
that game, but and you're up thirteen points in the
fourth quarter with how many left before they scored that
nine minute drive, it just ate up the entire fourth
quarter to get them within a touchdown. I was thinking
to myself, all right, like that's great progress. This has
been incredible by Baker Mayfield, because you know, you go
in there on Tuesday and you're trying to run an

(04:32):
offense on Thursday. It's ridiculous, it really is. However, he's
also been in the the league five years. Like that was
one of the things that I kind of when Kirk
saying that, I'm like this isn't Connor Cook trying to
start a game in the playoffs for what the Raiders
back when Derek Carr got hurt. It's a little different.
Like he's been around enough. He's on his third team
in five years, and he's seen a lot of systems

(04:54):
from his time in Cleveland, Carolina and now with l
A and so he should be about to go out
there and basically throw a few different concepts, even if
he hasn't worked with those guys like football's football. It
wasn't that that was quite impressive. It was more of
the two minute drive down the stretch, because that's something
that you know he's out there just kind of slinging
it around. But it does take you to have some

(05:16):
knowledge of that. And so I'm sure. And the reason
why I'm sure it's like my first start in the
NFL my second year was on a short week, found
out late Monday night, had one week of practice on Thursday. Yeah,
And so one part of the way you prepare for
something like that is you're you're handling the situations. First.
You're saying, all right, two minute, third down, red zone,

(05:39):
these are the things that I really need to key
in on, because first at second down, they probably gonna
run in the football decent amount. You know, first and
second down probably gonna be quick game play action pass
things that aren't overly overly complicated. Most play action passed plays,
it's just a progression one to three, check down, one
to check down, and that's it because you're gonna get
max protection. So there's not quite as much that you're

(06:01):
as concerned about compared to the drop back game, like
when you're in second or two many drives, like when
you're in third and long, and you saw some of
those completions on third and long. So look, Sean McVeigh
is a hell of a play caller that that helped
there too, But I also think he's got a great
rapport for working and pulling out the best in quarterbacks.
So incredible job by by Baker and McVeigh, but also

(06:22):
incredible left down by the Raiders defense. I mean, I mean,
it still takes having timing, you know, like a lot
of those routes though when you look at some of
third down for sure, but when you're just throwing posts
and anything down the field or deeper crossing routes, it's
not about so much timing in that respect a lot
of that's just like, hey, I've just gotta drop back,

(06:45):
get to a certain point, to that point on the field. Yeah,
I mean, and and it and it. The funny thing
was obviously Baker based on a couple of the rug gaffs.
You're like, well clearly studied throwing the football board that
did like his fullwork of the handhoffs, which is what
you do as a quarterback. You know, sometimes the run
plays you might kind of take for granted which way
you're going and all that gloss over it. But um,

(07:06):
the way they were doing it with the seven man protections,
you know, a tied end running back to kind of
chip and help on the edges. With with Jones and Crosby,
there's there's really only you know, a couple of guys,
three guys out in the route progression, so you know
you're getting protected and then you know, really once you
three where I'm going. And that's that's the nice thing
about all of those deeper drops and those those seven
man protection plays. It's not quite as um relying reliant

(07:30):
on the timing and chemistry with the receivers. So again
smart by Sean McVeigh to have those plays the boots
uh the role right, they got on the fourth and
one two acres that he completed that extended the first
touchdown drive. All those things are really really smart because
their plays Baker's run and they don't involve timing and chemistry.

(07:51):
Out played Derek Carr. I know that. I mean, that's
that's a fact that that was brutal last night. And
like they were. They made the point and I'll give
him did They said, Man, you know, the Rams are
banged up Raheem Morris, and what they're doing on defense
is keeping them in this game. Because the Raiders should
have ran away with that game and you're looking up
at the score, going there's still hope for some reason,

(08:12):
like they couldn't, like they Davantae Adams had that one
big catch. He only finished with three grabs. Yeah, but
he made some really big grams. But he made some
big grabs. You know, Listen, it wasn't a high scoring affair. Um,
so there was defense, you know, even even in their collapse.

(08:33):
I mean, the Rams didn't give up a whole lot,
you know, in the game. It's just said that they're
what they gave up happened when it happened. You know
that's what's said for the Rams, you know, I mean
it's just one of those things I think they can't
they well, not the Ram, excuse me for for the

(08:53):
for the Raiders, it's like you can't get a they
can't get a break. You know, the Rams haven't been
able to get a break in. They finally did get
a break, but it was just it was interesting to
see that this has been a pattern that they've created.
You know, get leads have a league for as long

(09:13):
as they have and then some way, somehow they let
it get away, and and and the biggest question that
I had, you know, after after leaving that game was
why are they making the mistakes that they're making. I mean,
like the turnovers that that took place, to the big
time fumble that took place in the third that you know,

(09:34):
it was just ball security, it was I mean, you
you saw Josh Jacob's hand and he broke his hand
on planning on that. I mean, I was gonna say, like,
like how much did the injury play a factor? Because
he literally could only hold the ball in his left
arm because his right hand was broken. And you saw
the one player on the sideline he tried to stiff arm,
and it was in a ton of pain. And for

(09:56):
a guy that makes that offense go, I feel like
you're limited, right, like I even know how I don't
think they target him. And then in the throwing game
after that, because he was playing with one hand out there. Yeah,
but if you're gonna be out there, you gotta hold it.
If you're gonna be out there and you have the ball,
you gotta hold I I just you know, and I
get that, and I understand that, but it's just little

(10:18):
things that take away the momentum, little things that give
a team that you know, these are both two teams
that are struggling this year, so you can't you gotta
you know, you just gotta limit, limit any type of
giving them hope, because I mean, at times there were
there was it was ugly, you know some of some
of the games, some of the parts you know, it

(10:38):
was it was kind of ugly, or there was there
was defense, you know, And I don't know, I just
think the way these guys loses is I think that's
way harder the way that to accept the fact, like saying, okay,
they're they're not a good team, but yeah, they like
they could easily have three more wins than what they

(11:00):
have right now. Well, then let me post this to
you because because before before the game, I was like,
all right, they're gonna win this game. They're gonna get
six and seven and maybe outside shot like that's four
in a row. Maybe they're a playoff team if they
keep this rolling, because their schedule is not that difficult,
especially with San Francisco now with Brock pretty at quarterback

(11:21):
not Jimmy g you start kind of rolling through it
a little bit. We k team they had the Chiefs.
Maybe the Chiefs aren't starting the starters because they've got
locked up that number one spot and already the division.
So you start kind of playing through their scenarios. And
now after that loss, that that sort of collapse up
thirteen and the fourth like that, you start going to
win a second It is is Josh fer Dina safe.

(11:44):
I mean, we we've talked about how you know, Mark
Davis's cast strap, that would be hard to be able
to pay off, McDaniel's payoff, Dave's Eagleer, the general manager
who they brought in together as a team. I mean
we're seeing John Carroll University pictures of those two together
but be really tough that to pay off everyone to
go find another head coach. Meanwhile, you already had to

(12:04):
pay off John Gruten from what was it And we
can surely get into the list of people that are
now part of that lawsuit. Welcome to the Washington Commanders. Yeah,
it's uh when they lose like these are like bad losses,
like these are egregious double digit leads, and you're looking
around going what the hell man like undisciplined, like the

(12:27):
penalties that kept that final drive going. I mean, Baker
Mayfield has been there an hour and a half and
went yards on their defense, So what the hell is that?
And you can say, Ben Scronic, dude, I mean it's
stepping baby. Well, I just I don't know that anyone
expected that. I mean, the third down conversions, the bigger
place down the stretch of it was. He became kind
of like a go to guy for a little bit.

(12:49):
So it's always nice to have a big target the throats.
Like you want to hear speaking. I was going to say,
speaking of Jeff Saturday, if this was Jeff Saturday's coach
teams was in the way that they just lost last night,
you know what we would be saying he's in over
his head, he doesn't know what he's doing. How do
you blow a league like lead like this? And and

(13:12):
here we are looking at a guy that's a proven
vet in his game as a coach, and they're they're
having epic breakdowns, you know during and listen, they did
have a nice little run going. But you can't lose
games this way. But you just can't lose games this way.
It's tough. I mean, book book teams at injuries. You know,

(13:33):
the Raiders offensive line was playing with two guys down
just from the like with the right tackle there. Mumford
had to come in and he was playing. He's a
rookie out of Ohio State. They had uh Simpson come
in the draft pick that a few years ago. I
believe he came in the right guard spot. I mean
that the entire right side of the offensive line, you know,
all of a sudden, looked like a completely different group

(13:54):
in the second half due to some of the injuries too.
I'm not trying to make excuses for him. It was
just an odd, odd game and the way the whole
game flow went down, and you know how you really
give give Jalen Ramsey credit. You know, everyone wants to
talk about that ridiculous cast by Davanta Adams. You saw
Ramsey matched up and Adams pretty much the rest of
the game wasn't much going on, like he like he

(14:14):
he kept him to three catches and and I don't know,
I just look at it at Baker Mayfield by the
way afterwards, and I wanted to get your guys thoughts
on this. He was talking with the Amazon Prime crew
and him and Ryan Fitzpatrick were both like, yeah, we
were shocked that they were in press coverage that final
touchdown of Van Jefferson, like they couldn't. He was like,
I thought for sure they were going to drop back,

(14:34):
knowing the situation. He goes, once I saw that they
were just there, I just threw it up to him
like they were shocked. So that's just, uh, That's what
I'm saying. Like Patrick Graham, who's the defensive coordinator for
the Raiders, is supposed to have it a solid reputation
as like a defensive vine. I'm like, dude, no one's
running the football right now. What are you doing? You
gotta running back? I mean, like you've got a Cam

(14:55):
Makers who had a fumble early in the game, and
it felt like they kind of lost some com but
it's in him after that, like a lot of just
kind of play action and from time to time they'd
give it to him, but they really kind of just
shifted to say, hey, we're down two scores, we need
to throw to get back. And I'm like, the easiest
thing you could do for a quarterback is played press
man to man or even press post high zone. Now,

(15:16):
I just I'm working to a matchup. I don't have
to read anything, especially with the go route. So I
just I was I was a bit surprised. That's why
I kind of come into it as a quarterback saying, look,
it was incredible how Baker was able to go in
there and execute and play. He is a five year
veteran who started a lot of football games in this
league and playing a bunch of different systems. So I

(15:36):
didn't walk into it like and write it off like
I think Ryan Fitzpatrick or some of the others on
the set where at halftime saying like, oh, this isn't
gonna work, Like, no, dude, He's played football. He knows football.
He played a lot in college. Like he's an experienced guy.
He's a smart guy, but you can't give him like
easy easy reads and things otherwise, like you give him
every opportunity to go in there and do what he
did last night. He also pointed out, he said, look,

(15:58):
I don't I don't like the fact that I've had
so many different head coaches throughout the course of my career.
He goes, but all that stuff came in Handy's like,
all those concepts, all those offenses came in handy in
those moments because I realized, Man, I've played through a
lot of this stuff, so you know it wasn't it
was there in football's football you call it different stuff,
but you've had a bunch of different people kind of

(16:19):
coach you up. And here's what you come to realize.
And trust me, I've played on enough teams to know
and you know kind of went on the block like
that to know. You know what every coach we'll start
to realize and agree with is when you when when
you do something that works, Like they can have a system,
they can have work, they can have a read, they
can have a progression. But if if you do enough

(16:41):
things that work, they'll look at you and be like, well, wait,
so why do you do it this way? And they'll
start asking you questions. And the older you get, the
more you play, or the more you've been around certain coaches,
they'll say, hey, I've seen it done a lot of ways.
You do it how you feel comfortable. You do it
how you feel most confident, because that's what you're gonna
lead to the most success. It's not the coach out
there doing anything that you don't make. Those plays you

(17:03):
might put you in that position, but once you're in
that position as a player, you have to execute. You know,
your fork, your eyes, everything else that you're doing as
a quarterback has to be You have to be comfortable
and confident in or deliver those throws. And so that's
part of it. Man's like, you had nothing to lose
going out there, did he? And that's that And that's
that's where you can be dangerous. Yeah, you can wait

(17:27):

(19:17):
tire buying should be so. One of the fun matchups
in the NFL this weekend is in the NFC North.
It's probably because the Bears are on a buy, but
the Vikings and Lions are playing one Eastern time on
Fox this Sunday in Detroit, and some people are very
confused as to why the Lions would be favored in
this game, right, It's very It is very interesting. Now, well,

(19:41):
you were at the first one between these two, you
were on the call there. The Lion should have won
that game. They let it the entire stretch until the
very end where I mean, look, if my recollection is correct,
it was k J Osborne came up with a big
play at the end. Um, you know, feeling made a
big play. There are a couple of busts and coverage.

(20:03):
They were really trying to double and and take away
um just Jefferson, which they did, but it was then
um K j Osborne kind of won the one one matchup.
But the way they're trying to play the coverage and
I don't get two into the weeds. But LaVar will
understand this. They were trying to triangle both Osbourne and
Theeland on that side of the field. I think the
go ahead touchdown basically just blown coverage. You know, no one,

(20:25):
no one end up having Osbourne. But to your point,
they should have won that. It was a Radar esque
type loss, is what you're saying. Well, uh yeah, I
mean it looked pretty bad. Yeah, alright, So so there's that.
That might be one of the reasons why the Lions
are a slight favor By the way, Minnesota can clinch
the division if they get a win or a tie
this weekend. But the conversation then turns over to Jared Goff,

(20:48):
who was speaking with the media this week talking about
his play his performance. The Lions are a much better
football team than when he initially got there. Here was
the Lions court of back assessing his play up to
this point in the year. Scars, you talked a lot
about going in the season and then will say an
want best your career. You were for the best seas

(21:09):
Obviously there's there's still times you feel like you're I
do I do? I feel like I am playing the
best football in my career right now, and you know,
starting to settle in a little bit, and Ben and
I have a good thing going and still a lot
of work to do, and you can always improve and
and look at ways to get better. But I am
comfortable and hope to continue after the season. Man who
would have thought, huh, who would have thought scapegoat in

(21:31):
l A got to move on? Got upgrade a quarterback
and yeah, but they're vastly improved team. And he's been
better than Matt Stafford has been this year. And you
can go stat for stat and you can look at
it and say, they're not that far apart when it
comes to the trade. And for a guy who went

(21:52):
to a Super Bowl, I think it's pretty telling that
he's identifying as a five win team and as a
quarterback for a five win team, that this is the
best football he's played. It's kind of interesting. I just
wonder who we're directing those shots. I can't wait to
hear what you has to say about this. What do
this mean? What do I just want to know what
that that means? Like, I mean, I guess you could

(22:13):
be playing I mean, I played some of my best
football on some S S bomb team. Like, I get it.
I can get it, I can get playing good football.
I'm just Sam. But you do have five wins, I
think it. Yeah, But I mean again, if we want
to the quarterback wins that all that stuff, it's like,
all right, like you know, I trust me, he's playing

(22:34):
great football. There, there's those wins are not indicative of
the way he's playing this year. Um, I think you
could look at it as a shot at Sean McVeigh
and a team that moved on from him, a team
that's on a third quarterback now. And then, by the way,
they're lucky that Baker was able to hit the free
agent market, right. The parents could have just held on
to him the rest of the year if they wanted to,

(22:55):
but obviously they were nice enough to be able to
grant his release and the Rams pick him up for
the rest the season. And now the rest is history
with his comeback performance last night. Otherwise it's John Walford,
who I'm still trying to figure out why the hell
he was went in for the first three places. Okay,
thank you for bringing that up. What was that? I
have no idea even attempt to pass? He just handed
it off three times, didn't he exactly? And if you're

(23:16):
if you're John Walford, there's two ways of looking at this.
Either I'm going or I'm not. Either I'm going in
there whatever I'm dealing with injury wise, because Baker apparently
took you know, all the reps you know, going in
leading into this game. If I'm going in that game,
I'm not stepping on the field unless I'm going, and
I'm gonna try top this out whatever I'm dealing with.
So I don't know the particulars or the specifics to

(23:36):
you know, his ailments, but I do know this, that's
not the mentality you have. Well, whatever the hell was
going on there was just odd, you know, because one
that's not that's that's not obviously the thing you want
for Baker. Like if I'm Baker, I'm like, yeah, I
would have loved another another possession, Like every rep for
him right now is valuable, Whereas for Walford, I mean,
they kind of know what he is, so I'm not

(23:59):
really sure what the hell make it that. But to
get back into Detroit and Jared Goff, I think it
was more to do with looking at the situation in
l A. Looking at yeah, they want a super Bowl
last year with Matt Stafford. But I'm sure Jared Goff
feels to some degree like I could have done that
too with the pieces that you have in the way
the defense was playing and all those parties. Look at
me on a lesser team now, and and maybe he

(24:21):
feels like they're in a more competitive situation than wherehere
Matt Stafford was there. But I think if you're comparing
what Stafford was earlier this year and statistically speaking, with
Golf not even close this year, I think you look
at last year, especially when the both teams finished, and
you'd say Golf played better down the stretch in the
regular season, obviously since the lines were making the postseason,

(24:42):
And I think to me it has a lot to
do with Ben Johnson his oc and and Golf in
their relationship, Like those two have a really really strong
close relationship and We're starting to see that kind of
everywhere amongst you know, the NFL, where you've got a
good relationship with the O C and quarterback what they're
capable of. Mike McDaniel with the Miami Dolphins is one
that obviously stands out with improvement for this year. So

(25:04):
I just I think it's more of maybe a shot
of like, hey, look what I'm doing with less And
I think, look, the Lions aren't out of it, and
they've got a shot in that that division, and maybe
you're in that conference and maybe trying to make a
run at something, especially as as some of the other
divisions are by the way. So LaVar you called the
Lions game last year for Fox, Brady you called one
earlier this year. Isn't it kind of cool to see

(25:26):
a team that literally tears it down to the studs
and you're seeing it slowly developed like the like there's
talent on that team and for that fan base, it's
been the laughing stock of the league, alongside the Jets,
the Jaguars to see the way they've done it. And
Dan Campbell, who everybody laughed at, everybody mocks at. Oh,
he's just trying to come up with quotes and he's
biting kneecaps and he's talking about double Express so coffees

(25:49):
he drinks every day, and they're on hard knocks And
then you see where they're at and you go, yeah,
they may not make the playoffs, but at least you're
seeing a team heading in the right direction. I think
it's kind of a cool story for that fan base.
He's definitely changed the culture of at the least at
the bare minimum, and you have seen Dan Campbell change

(26:09):
the culture. And there's an expectation like this this group
of guys, they it looks like the confidence level is
they go into it expecting to win. And and once
you expect something, then you know the attitude, the actions
they have to match that expectation. And if if your

(26:30):
attitude and and your action matches your work matches that expectation,
then you start to see results. And when you start
to see results, then there's a belief. And I think
these guys are starting to believe in and what it
is that that's going on. So you know, you never know,
you never know what direction things can go in. Right Like,

(26:50):
it looks as though it's building up. It looks as
though it's going in the right direction. But you know,
the interesting thing about sports is, you know it does it.
It doesn't discriminate, it doesn't care, right, so it's still
could go bad. It could still go bad. You know,
it could still go back in in in the opposite

(27:14):
direction of you know, being winning, you know, winning games
and different things like that. You don't really know what's
going to happen, but I will say you can see
a visible difference in what this team looks like from
from what it was last year certainly to this season.

(27:34):
I love it, man, I love what they've built. And
by the way, they're in the nine seed right now
as far as the playoffs are concerned, So don't count
them out. Man. They're playing some good football. The young
pieces on defense are getting better. I think defensively there's
less bus you know, and in coverage and some of
the stuff you're you're watching out there, So don't count
them out. But you know, to the point about ripping

(27:56):
it down to the studs, they built these this thing
out from the wrenches out. Like if you look at
how they're constructed their offensive line, they tried to find
physicality and malers the defensive line. Elle McNeil is probably
one of the most unsung heroes up front. You know,
you'll hear about the edge players, and you'll hear about
it and Hutson all that Ellen McNeil's that is the anchor.

(28:16):
He's the one that makes that work, that muddies things
up in the interior, allows Malcolm Rodriguez to flat around
make plays like that. He's the one who gets it done.
So I like their shot. I mean, if if any
team's falter, you know, as we get into more divisional play,
if the Giants can't hold things together, uh, if the
forty Niners, who you know, if they're eight in four
right now. But again, you've got to back up in there.

(28:37):
I guess you'd secondly say, a backup, backup um in
brock Purty if they start to fall by the wayside,
like you can start seeing maybe the Destort Lions start
to climb weather way back up in the Seattle Seahaks
or another team maybe falls in that category. We'll see.
It's gonna be interesting finish. What would you say The
Lions odds are to make the playoffs right now according
to draft Kings to Gus plus uh six Jesus really

(29:03):
seven hundred seven one. So I mean the Lions, like
you usually don't bet on the point. I think o
T J Off White Jordan's if they don't finish last
in the division. Wait, hold on a second, Well that
was a bet. You guys did well? Yeah, I got
I got bad news for you. Yeah, not looking good.

(29:25):
That belongs to the Bears, and I was a little
off on that. Huh, Yeah, that's yeah. The Bears are
there well. And also and the fact that the Lions
also on the Rams pick, so they're gonna end up
with what probably a top five pick, maybe a top
four pick. The Rams are slated apparently trying to just
fight their way out of this with old old Baker. Yeah,

(29:46):
old General Mayfield, that's true. He could have got a
really screwed him over, that, old General Mayfield. But nonetheless, sure,
I hope he keeps playing well. Yeah, I really do
be fun. He's a fun personality. He's he's awesome to
have back in the By the way, LaVar was saying
that he thought Baker, if this goes well, was going
to try and plan a flag in the turf last night.

(30:07):
That's how would have been. Boy, it wouldn't have stuck,
but it would have been recreated, but you know it
wouldn't have stuck. It didn't stick where he did it,
and I don't ohio right, like yeah. That problem with
that though, was like it fell over right away, and
I was like kind of takes away from it. Like
if you got to plash your flag, have someone hold
or something, you got to hold it there. Yeah, it's

(30:28):
got to stand up afterwards. Yeah, it's gotta stand up.
You're gonna pose. You know, nobody wants to flag that
falls down, man, Yeah, no, it looks got to stay
like it's got to stay up, right, you know, you
were like an idiot if you do that, just like
you gotta planet and like I remember that MTV moon
man that would hold the flag. You gotta get yeah,
you know what I'm talking. You just gotta look at

(30:49):
it and marful and marful yeah yeah, yeah, put a
leg up like Captain Morgan's you know, yeah, yeah, put
a little Captain in you. Yeah, that legout hold that.
You know, when's the last of you guys drink Captain?
I mean I have Captain Morgan all the time. That's

(31:09):
what a summertime drink from me. But what do you
mean you go captain mo like the year round. You
know what I I I generally switched over to a
darker rum, which is uh, I got sick. I got
sick on dark rum. Once that's over from that cracking rum,
dark Vicarti, dark Vicardi, never again. If I smell it,

(31:31):
I'll get nauseous. I don't know about Bacardi, but the cracking,
that cracking dark rum with a little bit of pepsi,
it's amazing. That's an amazing little drink right there. Now,
you don't go like diet pepsi or I don't diet.
I don't go diet. I am so overweight, man, I'm
realized how the weight I am, Like I put that

(31:54):
suit on for that that. I mean, that's just you know,
I gotta do something with my life, man, talking about
what you just You just made the Hall of Fame.
What are you talking about here? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, and
that was fat on stage. Hold on it, okay, you
gotta way. You got a jacket in a ring? Do
you have any photos? I mean, I'm pretty blunt, like,
I'll just tell you. I'll tell you how this, Oh man,

(32:16):
I'll sell you a photo, and I mean, you know,
I do you on you guys vein. No, I'm know,
I'm just saying damn to but like like he is,
Brady is pretty blunt. He told me one time that
I was the most jacked guy you'd ever seen. And
this is somebody who's playing with me. I think I

(32:37):
think what he's what he's referring to, LaVar is. I
think I said to him once he took so much
offense to this. I was like, you really work out
that much? Huh? And he just goes yeah. I was like,
he's still pretty small. Yeah, it's like he took a
lot of offense. I wasn't offended at all because I
knew what you were doing. You look more like a
yoga instructor than you do, like workout guy. I'll take

(32:59):
what I can get. I mean shots fired that shots.
I mean, do not ever call Meture Brady. We're not
calling Brady Quinn. Now, I have some AMMO in my
Yes you do. Brady once said to me on the air,
and I quote, you're ripped up like a bad report card.

(33:24):
He said that to me, and and and again. I'm
not gonna argue with the guy. He's an e A
S sponsored guy. You know, he's like one of the
weird thing is is like, now all that stuff is digital.
You know, it's all digital, like I assume LaVar, Like
no one actually is handing your kids are handing you
paper report cards. You can all get them digital, right,
yeah you can, and you don't have to wait until

(33:44):
until report cards come out because it's all a longline. Right.
Look at that belly. Look at that belly, said come through,
Look at that bell. I mean it is so disappointing,
but at least you know, and that's our lineback, what
are you talking about? Come on, get to get out

(34:05):
over Brady, get up the tackle box. He's fishing for
compliments again. Come on, come on, you want to see
where the truth is. Look where my finger is and
look where it's appointing. Right. Can you see my belt buckle? Yes?
Or no? Can you see my belt buckle? Yes? Can
especially when I zoom in. Yeah, you can't see m
Are you sitting on a gas pump? You can't see

(34:25):
my up It's like a slope. It's like my chest
is the start of the slope. And that's not that bad.
This is so ridiculous. But for people who are listening
on THEO, there's no issues this is this is ridiculous.
You make it, you make it seem like you're John Candy.

(34:47):
Would you stop? Come on? Whoa, I'm just saying I
love John Candy, one of my favorite actors. Call Chris
Farley while you're on. I watched The Great Outdoors last week.
Yeah that's not LaVar And by the way, that's not Lavarre.
Look good. I'm sad I missed it. You look great? Yeah? Great?

(35:08):
How about my boy? Though, My little boy looked good.
That's how I should be looking. By the way, he's
not very little. Yeah, but you know what the difference is.
You could tell I look at he's hungry. Man. Oh
he look back in that age when you do anything
just to be a little better, do something and win.
By the way, I just I sent over a picture
of Brady like I mean, like both you guys are great.

(35:31):
Stupid are you talking about? I was figuring you might
send the helicopter? Man, it's got that happen at Lee's
got that. Oh my god, it's a very alarmed radio.
By the way, it's super alarm oh man. Fox Sports
Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation.

(35:52):
Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports Radio. Dot
Com and within the I Heart radio app search. F
s r To said, live, I'll tell you this. You
know what you do need to do, is you get
ready for the Desmond Ritter era in Atlanta with the
Falcon How about that Desmond Ritter is gonna be able
starter after the bye week. Marcus Mariotta has been struggling
as late, and at this point, yea, why not see

(36:15):
what you got? Maybe he provides a little bit of spark.
Third round pick Desmond Ritter, how we feeling about him
with the Atlanta Falcons. Why not at this point in
the year. I mean, this has been a long time coming, right, Yeah,
you gotta see what you have in the young man
that there's a reason why you drafted him. Give us
some opportunity to go out there and playing all that.
It is interesting though, as I was like kind of
looking through, um the past few years of like draft

(36:36):
classes with quarterbacks. So obviously Marcus Mariotta, Javis Winston, both
who you know started this season for the respective teams
now are no longer playing. Jamis I guess due to injury,
but um, he's healthy now and it's it's odd they
didn't put him back in and then Marcus just because
you got to a point where they feel like they
need to try to do better and try something else.
But you know, both are with different teams that they

(36:58):
originally drafted to. And it wasn't that long ago. I
mean they were the one and two pick of the
two thousand fifteen draft class. And I was combing through it.
Of all the first round quarterbacks take and I believe
there's twelve who are still with the team that drafted
them all right, of the I think about that less

(37:19):
less than half. And mind you, the only one preen
is Patrick Mahomes. So then you go into teens class.
You've got a couple there, right, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson,
but even Baker Mayfield, as we saw last night, it
was part of that teen starts study class. It's not
his third team in five years. Sam Donald's not on

(37:40):
his original team. Josh Rosen isn't even in the league,
I don't think right now. I mean, you start going
through like the past few years, and one of the
reasons why the number six at twelve of the last
twenty six is because you had a decent amount of
first round quarterbacks take in the past. Uh not last
year's draft only pick it obviously, but the previous two
drafts before that twenty So it's kind of crazy when

(38:02):
you think about as much as the league has kind
of bought into, like drafting quarterbacks in the first round
making them the guy, there's also been this incredibly short
leash that all these young men are on. And and
I don't know if it's going to impact the league
long term, if it matters, if it doesn't, because so
many of these teams, you know, give these these guys

(38:24):
a couple of years, and then if they don't show
any growth, they just move on. And and it's just
it's really interesting only because if you look at like
each individual guy like Josh Allen, he got three years
with the same coordinators, same team, everything is stable around him.
They add in Stefon Diggs the third year he takes off.
You know, you could look at two a tongue of Boloa,

(38:45):
who you know, obviously had a coaching change, but one
in which you know you're bringing Mike McDaniel who helps
him excel. And obviously he's still with the Dolphins and
looking like he's gonna be a guy who gets to
a second contract and stays with the Dolphins. Uh Lamar
Jackson is a player that's an interesting one because you're
in year five now on this team as a first
round drafting quarterback, but you're not sure what the future

(39:08):
holds as far as a long term deal. You know,
missing some time right now due to injury, and I
think there's some questions about his play from the pocket
that maybe they don't want to commit to him for
two or fifty million bucks or whatever that price tag
is gonna be. But I do find it interesting that,
you know, you look at the journey now with some
of these guys that get drafted in the league, and
it just seems like if they don't show something right away,

(39:32):
people just turned the pace and they just start looking
to the next chapter and so we'll see what happens.
I mean, it's any of those guys who are on
the hot seat right now that have been drafted in
recent years, they should be on the lookout because every
single team is is trying to build around that position,
and if they're not, they're trying to move on from
that position and find something they can build around. So
it's it's tough sledding. I mean, I don't I don't

(39:54):
I don't know it feels bad for him, but I'm
just saying it's it's kind of crazy when you think
it's not like Marcus s Mariot and Jameis Winson were
drafted numb one and two overall that long ago. Yeah,
it was. It's crazy. And and also remember that quarterback
class the field of the first round. Yeah, the feeling
was that was one of the best quarterback classes to
come out of the draft. He had teams moving up

(40:15):
drafting guys, you had rose and go high. He was
a top ten pick. And yet here we are and
it's it's Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson and the fourth
draft in the top ten, five in the first round. Off,
it's nuts. And you've got three of the five not
even on the same team. And that was what five
drafts ago, five years ago to that's it's almost ridiculous.
