He's ready to go.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Come on, man, go. Where where are we going?
Speaker 5 (01:30):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
I thought you were ready to go?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Guns are out today? And all right.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
So last week we did a little something called coach
speak where we heard some sound from various coaches around
the NFL and we heard them try and explain a
question that was asked to them in a very coach
speak type of way, and we.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
Tried to try to coach splain. Yeah, we're going to
do that now again.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah you ready?
Speaker 6 (02:00):
All right, So here we go. Patty Speaks is ready.
He's got sound bites from various coaches around this week,
So let's started. Coach speak. Will explain, Patty will explain
what the context is, and we will react to see
(02:23):
whether or not the coach is telling the truth or
they're just full of crap.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
All right, So let's go ahead.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
All right, So I got us five for us a gentleman,
and we're gonna start off with what is arguably the
goat here of the NFL. We got Bill Belichick. Guys, Yes,
not NFL right now, but it still counts nonetheless. So
Bill Belichick was asked recently about the New York Giants
head coaching job, and he was wanting to answer, saying,
(02:49):
you know, we're moving on. You know, we're on the
wake for us and all that good stuff. And you
know what Larina play us played out for him us.
What he's telling the guys, and I'll let you guys
think what he says.
Speaker 7 (03:00):
I've been done this real before. I'm focused on Wake Forest.
That's it, and that's my commitment of this team. And
next week it'll be to our next opponent and so forth.
But you know I'm here to do best I can.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
For this team.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
All right, Jonas, you get to go first? What do
you think?
Speaker 8 (03:16):
He said?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, of course I want to go take the Giant's job.
Do you think I want to hang out here?
Speaker 8 (03:21):
Like?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
I can't win? Even in the ACC, I can't win now.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
We're like, I've got to go win two of three
to get to bull eligible. I'm focused on Wake Forest.
Last I checked, that was a touchdown underdog against wake Forest. Yeah,
of course I want the Giants job. It's where I
started and had a lot of success in my NFL career.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I'd love to go back.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
I'd love to be a part of that organization again
and try and become the all.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Time winning as coach in NFL history.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
All Right, varyr up next to what do you think?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I think what he was.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Trying to say was, of course I want to go
back to the National Football League. At least there, the
age range and the age bracket of those that I
I am coaching won't be that of my girlfriend. I
will be safer and knowing what my job is, I'd
be able to coach better because I wouldn't be shooting
away guys who are shooting their SOPs constantly at my people.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Hey Brady, what about you?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Man?
Speaker 9 (04:18):
I'm gonna take a different approach to this one. Look, guys,
we've won two in a row. It's been a rough season.
I haven't experienced something like this ever, not on that
college level. Can we just focus on wake Forest, like
we could actually win this game. Heck, maybe we can
knock off Duke beat Duke.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
That'd be fun.
Speaker 9 (04:37):
Maybe NC State, like we can actually maybe win out.
Could we possibly become buligible? And you guys are talking
about other stuff. It's like, I'm just focused on the
right here right now. It's been a rough go of it,
all right.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Very literal.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
I'll take it. Answers, galaor I love him?
Speaker 2 (04:56):
All right.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
Next up we have Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin
was d asked just about yet again Aaron Rodgers, especially
after this recent lily type of a game, Loreena, could
you play that for us? Please?
Speaker 10 (05:10):
I'm not gonna, you know, chalk it up to an
off night, but there are no long term concerns. I'm
just not going to allow your words to be my words.
That's all. Sunday night was what it was. But I
have no long term reservations about his ability to play
the position and play the position at a high level
for us.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
All right, var you get first shout this one.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Well, what it sounds like to me is what he's
trying to say is is he wakes up, He gargles,
he brushes his teeth, he brushes them more than one time,
he meets the time requirements, and so the words that
come out of his mouth are fresh and clean, while
the words that were coming out of that reporter's mouth
were more like, you know, tartared field, cavity field, funky
(05:55):
breath field, holatosis field type things that we're coming out
of his mouth, and he just doesn't want to have
the same words coming out of his fresh, clean mouth
that are coming out of the potty mouth of that
their reporter, like that mic right there, that's right, because yeah,
you took your mic co took my mic.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I mean talk about.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Weird proclivities like who takes your headphones and your your
micro's savages around here?
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Man boy?
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Allright, next go around?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Uh well, infatuations a little.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Bit, alright, Brady Quinn, you get to go next. What's up?
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Var was talking so long?
Speaker 5 (06:32):
I don't remember what Tomlin said.
Speaker 9 (06:34):
I think it was something so bang Roger's age. A
little concern there, Yeah, yeah, I'm concerned. I know exactly
what you guys are talking about because we're talking about
it behind the scenes too, and uh, we're just not
going to draw attention to it because we know that he'll, uh,
he a little sensitive to it. So we're doing the
best we can. Look, we made this bed. I'm gonna
(06:56):
lay in.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
It, all right, Jonas, you get the final one on
top and what's up.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
Yeah, of course there's long term concerns our quarterbacks. Old
if he cut of fartest back would go out. You
saw how he looked on Sunday Night football. But we
don't have any choices here, Like, he's what we got.
We just got to roll the dice and hope that
dice stays upright, and just hope one of our offensive
lineman doesn't tackle him again, and he complains about him
and tries to assault the guy for going near him
and touching him, because he's he's fragile. At this point
(07:22):
in his career. He's got to be a Hall of Famer.
We're just hoping we can get a fraction of that
Hall of Fame career down the stretch so that we
can win that division because we're sure as hell I'm
not going to make the playoffs as a wildcard team.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Oh god, all right, I like all those answers, like
Levarsa the best platosis, let's go. He he went into it.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I was like, go, let's go all right? Next to old.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
His fart can blow his back out, Like what checkout
depends my guy? That butt health? Oh man?
Speaker 5 (07:59):
Well next, so we got Jim Harrbot, coach of the
Edge Chargers here. This one was a little quick one,
but it's kind of a fun one because he was
a just a head coach gushing over his star quarterback,
gushing over Justin Herbert. He was calling him a beast. Yeah,
calling him a beast, and have a little fun with it. Lareena,
could you play that for me please?
Speaker 11 (08:16):
I do have an update on his physical status. He's
still a beast, Brady.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
I'll let you go first on this one. I love him.
I love him so much.
Speaker 9 (08:37):
He's playing behind a bunch of backups right now and
he's made us look good.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
I love him. That's why I'm here.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
I love him. I love him so much, Jonas you're
getting next.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Of course, he's a beast.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
You see that piece of ass he's walking around with now,
I mean, come on, man, and he's keeping us afloat.
Our offensive line is banged up. We're down two tackles
for the year. One tackle. We just gave a bunch
of money too. We had a running back who signed
with US and then blew his face off in a
fireworks accident, then got hurt like week two of the season.
Like I'm throwing to a guy named Maconkey, trying to
(09:14):
make plays the best I can. Keithan Allen, we had
to give him some little like a gimmicky pass to
set the all time record. I mean, listen, he's a beast.
He's keeping us afloat on offense. But ultimately we know
how this is gonna go. There's gonna be an injury,
there's gonna be something that pops up, and we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Screw the pooch in the postseason.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
All right, var you get final one on Herbie.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I just can't stop looking at him. Every time he
walks into the room. He just fills the room up
with beast energy. He's something so special to me. I
think the world of him. Ah, what an amazing man.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
By the way, if they didn't have Herbert, where the
hell would they be.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
The prognosis that my eyes give my brain every single
time is beast.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Why are you two for two on this week? He
killing me? Right now? Oh? Let's go oh man?
Speaker 2 (10:17):
All right?
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Next time we got a Bengals head coach, Zach Taylor
was asked about Joe Burrow, you know, actually getting some
practice reps in and Loreena, could you let u Zach
could take.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
It from here.
Speaker 12 (10:29):
I think he's ready for this part of the recovery,
you know, to come back on a limited basis and
progress it, you know, on the field with the players.
So I think he's in a good point internally. This
was always a good timeline for us. He's worked really
hard to get to this point to back on the
field in a limited form, and so I'm excited to
get Hi out there today.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
All right, Jonas, you get first one at this.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
And by the way, what I say get him out
there today, I mean in the secondary because we've got
a quarterback like Joe Flacco's our guy. He's in his
forties and he is slinging it and he's having a
good time and he's fun to watch. It's a great story.
He just picked up right where Joe Burrow last left
off with the chemistry with those wide receivers. He's not
the issue. Our defense is a diaper fire. We stink
(11:10):
out loud. We can't stop anybody. The Jets lost the
Bears loss screwed our season up. So Joe Burrow will
be back, but unfortunately he's going to be back in
the secondary. All right, var what what he was saying,
He's going to be the secondary?
Speaker 2 (11:30):
It is really good. Do I do like it? I
do buy it.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
I think what he's saying there and what he's feeling
there is that.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
He's ready for Joe Burrow to come back.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
He's ready for Joe Burrow to play for the Cincinnati Bengals.
They are literally only two games out of being tied
for the top of the AFC North.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
I do believe.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
We just want our franchise quarterback back in the saddle.
And by telling you the words that I'm telling you,
I feel like I'm letting Joe Burrow know that it's time.
It's time for you to come back and be a beast.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
Well it is time to hear what Brady Quinn has
to say on this one.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Brady, please don't fire me.
Speaker 9 (12:25):
He's been backed up a lot. I just want my
quarterback back. He makes all the difference in the world
right now.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Just don't fire me. We just get to que just
get to Joe Burrow.
Speaker 9 (12:36):
Be it back and you guys could talk about Joe
and not about me and firing me.
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Just don't fire me.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, I didn't know that Joe Burrow was out right. Yeah,
he wasn't here. It wasn't even here. I've been here
the whole time. He hasn't been, though. Yeah, we can't
and I don't place, so we can't do without him
what I am.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
By the way, Zach Taylor's record with him, without Joe Burrow,
it's like, really, there's a I had difference, and I
can't figure out our contract.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
You can't do it. Oh my goodness. Honestly, Brady, you
win this one.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
You got that one, you got it.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
Come on, Jonas, this next one's for you. Come on, Jonas,
you got you got one last shot, Jones, come on,
all right. We got Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the
Browns guys, and he was asked on well, some timetables
for shudor Sanders. Maybe he's being a little vague. Uh, Lorena,
could you play for mister Stefanski please?
Speaker 13 (13:31):
I don't think it's fair to speculate. Darryl or we're
committed to getting better as an offense. Dylan is certainly
committing to improving every which way you can.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
All the while, all.
Speaker 13 (13:41):
Of our players, young players are are developing and working
so hard behind the scenes to make sure that they're
getting better on a daily base.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
All right, var you get first one.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Well, what he was basically trying to say is he's
he's got hemorrhoids and and I'm trying to heal from
my hemphrooids. I've been very irritated and my butt hurts,
and I'm I'm improving, and I'm getting better.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
And as I improve and as I.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Get better, I'll feel better as a coach or the
Cleveland Browns with some inflamed.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Bad hemorrhoids. Brady, I'm gonna let you go next, because
I'm gonna say I'm gonna let you just go last
on this one.
Speaker 9 (14:25):
Yeah, it's not the hemorrhoids, it's the undisturbed sleep.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Let mattress for a match.
Speaker 9 (14:31):
Uh shot mattress from his Black Friday sales and save
up to five hundred dollars that select temp repeting adjustable mattresses.
Restrictions apply next stage delivery available on select mattresses, subject
to location.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Sea store for more details.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I'll accept that that's gonna be hard.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
To top.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Tody's you got pressure on you.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Bro, all right?
Speaker 6 (15:05):
Kevin Stefanski's basically saying, look, this place sucks.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
All right. I look like a werewolf.
Speaker 6 (15:11):
I can't even go trick or treating with my family
because I had to answer questions about some guy that
showed a fake rolex after he beat seven to eleven
State in college. We got bigger issues here. Offensively, there's injuries.
Defensively we're great, but I'm gonna be out the door
because we had an owner give a massive contract to
a weirdo who went to the grab lab too many
times and got popped for it and then couldn't stay
(15:33):
healthy and stay on the field. Joe Flacco got here
one comeback player of the year over a guy that
almost died on the turf. They decided not to resign
him for whatever reason. Then we bring him back, and
then we trade him for whatever reason. This place stinks.
I can't make it work here. Ask all the shad
or Sanders questions you want, Darryl, But unfortunately, I'm gonna
(15:54):
be out the door after.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
The year is over.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
All three of you did magnet if it's in this
last one. Oh, but you know what, just based on
one word or one phrase only on this the winner
of this last one Jonas not.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
To the Gravel about what up the Gravel album?
Speaker 5 (16:13):
One?
Speaker 3 (16:13):
It over for me there, Yo, we know whose show
this is because that was so weak?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
What do you mean you want to junk? Was weak?
Speaker 5 (16:24):
LaVar, you're the LaVar. You and Brady are showing the
crown today.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Mattress Firm was the winner of that round that was
related to the segment. Mattress Firm was the winner of
that round. But whatever, give it the Yonas emeralds that
that was funny as hell. I'm just going for the
last I'm not going for delivered. I'm not going for
(16:48):
literal things. I'm just going for it for the laughs.
You know what's last of you had a hemorrhoid. I
don't think I've ever had a hemorrhoid really, no.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
No have you?
Speaker 5 (16:59):
How do you get one?
Speaker 2 (17:00):
I think you might.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
I think you're like you over exert yourself, you know,
when you're pushing and or if you're on the pod
for too long.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Yeah I'm not here, I'm not really a woman. I
think it's when you're.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Pregnant, Yeah, pregnancy. It happens during pregnancy. Yeah, we bring
that up.
Speaker 9 (17:19):
But yeah, okay, I was thrown off when you said
the hemorrhoids.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
I'm glad I did not think we're gonna hemorrhoid mentioned
this morning. Yeah, I mean it's you know.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
That.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
I mean, you know our guy, you know what, what's
the radio guy Howard Stern made you know, shock Jock
Tell shot Jock radio popular. I just figure I shock
our people out there listening. Like if you were doing
your morning duties or driving or whatever it is that
you were doing, then you heard hemorrhoid pop up on
on sports radio talking about a coach. I mean it
(17:56):
might have made you, you know, pay attention. That's all,
you know, I mean, a hemorrhoid. I mean that's you know,
we can all relate to it.
Speaker 6 (18:05):
That's the guy who gets in this car to drive
to work and the first think he puts on his
hearing you talk about a hemorrhoid.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
And he's like, dang, mine is inflamed right now.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Damn he's talking and't even thinking about until he said
something talking to me, Dang, who are you talking to
You're talking to my ass, literally literally your ass.

AJ Brown's bitching about the Eagles offense. He was on
a twitch stream.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
It was on a milk carton too, Yeah, missing missing persons.
Speaker 6 (21:45):
And he was kind of venting a little bit about
you know, if I'm on your fantasy team, you know
you should get rid of me if I you know,
I'm just like all kind of half joking but obviously
being serious. And we know his history of letting it
fly when it comes to his displeasure with the offense
and his roll in the offense.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (22:03):
And then you know, of course, he was asked about
it by the media, and he did not apologize for
his comments on the twitch screen twitch stream, rather and
went on to explain how he feels about the Eagles offense.
Speaker 16 (22:16):
Because after the game, I said all the right answers,
I still made a story, right, you know, and that
in that moment where I'm just talking to my friend
having found my friend, I'm not apologizing for that, like
I said, because if you have eyes, you can see that,
and so like, it's not that I was throwing anybody
on the bus. I'm literally trying to laugh through this,
but I'm trying to make fun of the situation and
(22:37):
to try to get through it, so.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
You know, it is what it is. I don't want
to win too, you know.
Speaker 16 (22:42):
And I think if we're we're really focusing on winning
and doing our job, like, we can't just keep slapping
the band aid over the defense during their job and
getting us out of trouble.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
At what point we're.
Speaker 16 (22:55):
Going to pick up box slag as an offense that
we're saying we're so great, you know?
Speaker 2 (22:58):
And that's what I'm getting.
Speaker 16 (23:00):
It's not about we're not winning or I don't care
about winning all I care.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
About his stacks. No, it's been.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Week at the week.
Speaker 16 (23:06):
Sometimes we're not contributing, we're not doing our job on
off So you can't keep slapping the band aid over there.
And if you strict to win later late in the
year and you think he's gonna go to it and in
the year, it's not gonna hap. It's not gonna happen
last year what it was.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
Thank you for the ring. But it's a new season, adapted.
Speaker 16 (23:20):
We have to adapt, and we have to continue to
like get better and try to find new ways. So
that's that's where the frustration comes in.
Speaker 8 (23:26):
Because.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
They are seven and two, those Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Yeah, but he's I gotta he's not wrong. What he's
saying is not I just don't feel like he's he's wrong.
I mean, if you look at if you look at
the stats, and I'm trying to pull up Jamar Chase,
(23:51):
Jamar Chases, pull up Jamar Chase, but I can only assume.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
Do you think they're on the same level?
Speaker 2 (23:57):
No, I mean well, I mean in.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Terms of I mean as a player, yeah, yeah, yeah,
one receivers, Yeah, absolutely there. I mean Jamar Chases is
like that's an elite, elite, but AJ Brown's elite, like
he's he's top tier, top tier one one receiver. I mean,
I don't even know if you need to go into
numbers anymore about who's the one and who's not.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
But yeah, I mean he's definitely a one.
Speaker 9 (24:18):
I guess I'm just asking like, do you put I
gotta put Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson up.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
There's like maybe the two best in the NFL.
Speaker 9 (24:24):
Yeah, yeah, but then we started talking about other people.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
But I think they are the most elite the names
you just named. But okay, so what like a T.
Higgins and and uh you know, amen, Ross Saint Brown
like he's AJ Brown is not going to be talked
about as a second rate receiving citizen. He is first
class as a receiver. And he received the ball two
(24:50):
times and in this game they just played. His best
game of the year came against the Vikings, going going
up against the Justin Jeffer person receiver team, and he
got four receptions. I mean they were you got one
hundred and twenty some yards, which your production was good,
(25:10):
so your long was forty five.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
But I mean he's only gotten the ball at box scory.
What are you doing right now?
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Well, I'm just what I'm saying is is that I
would love to compare how many receptions does someone like
Jamar Chas or Justin Jefferson get in comparison.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
To two four, six, five two.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
He's never gotten the ball more than six times as
basically double his receptions.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
So I would be complaining to I would say this.
What's been rather alarming in regards.
Speaker 9 (25:43):
To the stats are referring to is since he's gotten
to Philly, it has been a downward trend.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Like literally he.
Speaker 9 (25:51):
Has caught for you know, less yards, less touchdowns every
year he's.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
Gotten a Philly from Tennessee. Now it's a little.
Speaker 9 (26:04):
Unfair because like in twenty twenty four, like last year
he missed what four games something like that. You know,
so he went for over one thousand and thirteen. But
you know, who knows. This year he is on the
worst pace.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
It's bad. In his entire NFL career, four hundred yards,
he's only catching.
Speaker 9 (26:21):
For like a little over what fifty yards a game
so far? Right, it's at three touchdown it feels. And
what's odd about it is like when they want to
turn on the passing game, it feels like they do.
When they can, they go down hims. Other times they
just they just don't. It's kind of crazy. I don't
really get it.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
I thought he was injured. I was watching the Green
Bay game. I was like, man, they could use AJ Brown.
Where's he at?
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Like?
Speaker 5 (26:47):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Then I finally saw him on the field running down
the field.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
I didn't even think he was in the game.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
And for what it's worth, you know, Jalen Hurts falls
under criticism as a quarterback from time to time, like
from time to time, people choose to put a spotlight
on Jalen Hurts. Is he a great quarterback? Is he
a franchise quarterback? Or is he a game manager? Like,
this is a team that is winning, They're having success,
(27:17):
but their offense does not look the same as it
did last year.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Saquon might not even break a thousand.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
M Saquon Barkley was the key to this team's success.
Saquon Barkley is not having the type of year this
year that he had that it was a magical year
he had last year.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Okay, sorry, we will if they end up fifteen and two,
do we care?
Speaker 3 (27:37):
I think we care because you have to look at
the like you got to try to figure out why
is it that they're fifteen and two? If they make
it to the super Bowl? Why did they make it
to the super Bowl? Like are we going to say,
is the first name out of your mouth going to
be you know, Jalen Hurts? Is that going to be
(27:57):
the first name out of your mouth? I don't know.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
I'm like, I guess my thought on it is, if
anybody's got a bitch, it's Saquon Barkley. Like he's I mean,
a shell of himself, and I don't think why would
he be why would he be complaining exactly? But so
why is AJ Brown complaining? I think it's different. That's
different like he because Saquon's getting his touches. Saquan's getting
(28:21):
his touches. He's just not having the type of success
running the ball that he did last year.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
He doesn't.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Saquon's not really dependent on Jalen Hurts getting him.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
The ball to have a level of success.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
I think defenses are just defensing him better than they
did last year. AJ Brown. You're not making it a point.
It's not a priority to get the ball to AJ Brown.
You're not treating him like a franchise receiver should be treated.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
It's just what it is.
Speaker 9 (28:58):
This is the fewest rushing at times per game Saquan
has gotten since twenty twenty one. So the reality is
that it falls on the coaching staff. It's five less attempts.
It's five less attempts per game than what he was
getting last year. Last year, he touched the ball more
(29:19):
than anyone in the NFL. This year, I would say
he's on pace probably for I don't know, twenty percent
below that. He had three hundred and seventy eight touches
last year. He is on pace for a decent amount below.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
I mean, maybe he's saving all of them for the
playoffs like he did last year.
Speaker 9 (29:43):
So much does he off They have a new offensive coordinator,
you know he could be a little bit of that too.
Finding a rhythm, finding consistency as a play caller. I
always think that gets understated. It does like it gets
understated every single time we act like a new player
color comes in, Oh, same players. Everything you should look
(30:06):
to say, No, there's a rhythm to it, there's a
float to it. There's a way you go about presenting
what you're showing defenses and how you're game planning for him.
And some guys are better than others, and some guys
it takes time. So I think that and the consistent
turnover right offensive coordinator has played as big of a
role as anything in regards to this offense struggling to
(30:29):
kind of get going, and yet they're so damn talented
and they're so damn good. Philly just continues to win.
They continue to be one of the top teams in
the NFL.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
You know who's getting real fed up with the aj
Brown conversation and the complaints.
Speaker 17 (30:46):
Answering these questions with us, Like he's working hard and
he is a big part of this game plan and
be a big part of the game plan going forward,
and he's working like crazy when he's here and I'm
excited to have him.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
It's like they've got to answer this multiple times over, Like.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Yeah, but that's how it is with some receivers. I
mean it was like that with t O t O
and like and Tos wanted to dope his dudes liked
to ever do it?
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Now Brady does does this make you want to go
to that guy more often? Based on how how many
times has this happened? Like I don't know, I don't
know him.
Speaker 9 (31:24):
I mean that's the thing to Levar's point, they're, you know,
receivers are just emotional guys.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
It's a it's a weird position.
Speaker 9 (31:32):
I think Petros does one of the best jobs of
helping to explain like the personalities of players in football
because he kind of talks about the battle within the battle,
like what LeVar endured being in the trenches every play
is like you might get a guy one time, but
like you can't talk that much because he might get
(31:52):
you the next play, or or someone else might kind
of get you. There's just a lot of game within
the game there. When you're on the perimeter, you could
be doing your job the entire day, blocking your tail off,
running perfect routes and getting open.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
And one explosive play.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Yeah, it's one.
Speaker 9 (32:12):
Explosive play and you know, and then you're happy again,
right Like, It's just it's it's a weird. It's a
weird deal where you can do your job perfectly and
sometimes not have the performance that you're hoping for. You know,
you could be wide open the ball gets tipped a
line of scrimmage. You know, you can there's all sorts
of things that you could You could be wide. You
could be running right route, doing the right thing, and
(32:33):
some of the receiver runs the wrong route, things running
into you, and now you're not open anymore. You know,
you could be a guy that they're you know, going
to put two guys over, which isolates someone else with
it DeVante Smith or Sagua or whoever else on this offense.
And if you're a quarterback, and I think you'd understand
this for most players, would You're gonna work to that
one on one matchup and that could be frustrating.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
So there's just I don't know him. I don't know
his personality.
Speaker 9 (32:59):
There Usually receivers are super seper talented that end up
being guys who they want the ball rightfully. So I
go back to the offensive coordinator because as an offensive coordinator,
it's your job to think playmakers, not plays, and so
he's got to do a better job with Kevin Patula
of getting him the football and getting him involved in games.
(33:20):
You know, there's things called no brainers where no matter
what the defense does, you know it's a wide receiver
screen or jet sweet pass which probably doesn't really fit
what he wants to do, but just different ways you
can even structure it, whether it's a bunch or formationally
or amusing motion to find ways of getting him open
and getting the ball. And they're obviously not doing that
(33:42):
enough based on the stats and the stuff we're looking at,
And again I think that falls on the OC, but
it falls on all involved to find a way of
getting the ball to your best players.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
I mean, I was a receiver and oh god, Jonas
Knox definitely wasn't a me guy like I was all
about team, like I didn't Jonas Knock didn't care about
how many targets he got.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
You gotta you gotta feed your your stars, man.
Speaker 9 (34:08):
I'm to catch the balls when the quarterback. Your quarterback
threw the football way on the sidelines. Is that what
you're referring to?
Speaker 6 (34:13):
No, listen, I was all about making blocks and you know,
making sure that you know other guys had success.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
It was always about the other guy, not Jonas Knox.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
And why do you keep seeing your name like that?
He is there?
Speaker 3 (34:24):
I mean, that's that's tend to talk a third person
passive aggressive Brown.
Speaker 9 (34:32):
I know you're trying to make a bit about the
fine system. Pal, there's there's You're gonna appeal all you want.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
It's not going anywhere. Legitimate gripe coming up.
Speaker 9 (34:40):
To my go ahead, do your whole legitimate you know
for radio gripe and waste you know, we'll waste a
segment on it.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
And it's not gonna go anywhere. I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
I want to.
Speaker 6 (34:50):
I want to have fair and balanced judging during the
appeal hearing tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
That's what that's what I would like, And unfortunately life's
not fair.
Speaker 5 (34:59):
You're not gonna get any fair.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Judgment out of this is such bs Man.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
You at the record the Eagles are at right now,
you can't confidently say that this should be a team
that you look to win the super Bowl to be
a legitimate competitor of winning the super Bowl with the
type of talent.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
That they have. Everything.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
If if that is the production and the output from
your two most most impactful offensive players, I'll take my
chances it can't.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
It won't happen. It won't happen.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
If you do not have better output from Saquon Barkley
and AJ Brown, you will not be a super Bowl
contending team. You'll be out. You'll be out of the playoffs.
If this is the trend that they stay on, they
will be out of the playoffs, and it might be early.
You gotta have production.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
You can't.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
There's no way of getting around that. You gotta have
production from your guys.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
They're gonna get a buy, yeah they Okay, Okay, they're
gonna geta buy.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
They might have home field, Okay. Who are they gonna
win it with? Who are you gonna win?
Speaker 2 (36:12):
What?
Speaker 5 (36:12):
What are you talking about? Who are they gonna win
the Super Bowl with? Who are they gonna win it with?
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Last.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
Yes, yeah, the Super.
Speaker 9 (36:21):
I'm not writing off Philly just because they're going through
a lolder in the season, like you can make the
case for a bunch of teams.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
I didn't say if they if they're going through a
low I said if they do not buck the trend
of what they're doing right now, If you don't get
more production out of those two guys, it's a rap.
So we're saying that, but yet they're still winning now. Yeah,
teams have one door in the regular season. I mean
we've we've had the conversation about again the Steelers. Everybody
(36:51):
references the Steelers. Can you take that into the playoffs?
They obviously couldn't. I don't see I don't see them
being able to do it.
Speaker 9 (36:59):
I don't see this Steelers on the same level as
them right now. Well just not the Super Steelers. They've
won another one before that. Pittros even played for one.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
That was a pretty good Steelers team that was at
what were they nine to oh for like most of
the ten and O I think they might have hit
ten and oh.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
I think nine. I think they got that three years ago.
I think they're twelve. They got to twelve and twenty
season because they lost to Washington on a Wednesday and
they lost.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
That was their first loss. It was against five years ago.
I think they were twelve, and that was a good team.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
That was a really good team, a good defense, and
you could say this is a really good defense for
the Eagles, I think, And that's what's carrying them right now.
Speaker 9 (37:36):
It's not their offense, right but they still have like
really talented players. And you believe Hurts he's won a
he's won a super Bowl, like you believe in.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
That, all right, man, I don't buy it.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Could it could be hyped.
Speaker 9 (37:49):
If you're telling me if he doesn't get in the playoffs,
you don't give them the benefit of the doubt because
they've been there before.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
No, they're going to get into the playoffs. I get that,
and no, no, no, but no, I don't give them the
benefit of the doubt. If you're not getting the production.
You can't you can't buck the system. You're not going
to get through the playoffs with your two best offensive
weapons with that amount of okation.
Speaker 9 (38:09):
We say this about the Chiefs and like the Chiefs
get there and they're like, well it's Andy Reid and
patri Ma Holmes.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
It's like we give them.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
The benefit of the doubts like one that's like one exception.
That's like one exception. And for what it's worth, if
Patrick Mahomes isn't dealing, who is there their best offensive player,
they're not going to win anything. So Jalen Hurts isn't
their best player. He's not their best player on offense.
(38:37):
It's AJ Brown.
Speaker 9 (38:39):
Sure, but I don't know that that matters in this case.
I'm saying you can distribute the football. And by the way,
he's outplayed Mahomes and Super Bowls.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Yes, he has everyone. I don't have a problem with that,
but he won't out play him in this year Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Not.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
If Saquan and AJ Brown don't get on track, won't
be there.
Speaker 6 (38:57):
Well, you can get on track with any homes with

At the MMQB. You can get him on x at.
Albert Brener was really about to be a hater man, Abe,
good morning. I was really about to hate on you.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
Ab but you guys got me fired up like a
little poison to get you going up there.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Yeah that's right. Yeah, let's go, Albert. How you feeling, man,
How you doing?
Speaker 5 (41:25):
How's everything going?
Speaker 4 (41:26):
I'm good, I'm good.
Speaker 18 (41:27):
I'm good.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
How you guys doing good?
Speaker 5 (41:29):
Not too bad?
Speaker 3 (41:29):
You know.
Speaker 5 (41:30):
I'm trying to figure out what's gonna happen with the Giants? Man?
Speaker 2 (41:33):
Was that unexpected for you?
Speaker 9 (41:34):
Did you get a sense that may happen in seasoning
and it's just gonna be dable. I think most people's
question is why not Joe Shane as.
Speaker 8 (41:43):
Well, Yeah, well we'll start with like why now?
Speaker 4 (41:46):
I think that is like, you know, you'd be right
to say this is out of character for the Giants.
This isn't generally the way they operate.
Speaker 8 (41:52):
But you know, I think it was just kind of
like the repeat of.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
A lot of different things. And so, you know, you
start with the fact that they're too one eight for
the third straight year, which when somebody.
Speaker 8 (42:02):
There told me that, I was a little taken.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
Aback, like wow, and realize that was the case. They
haven't won consecutive games in almost two years.
Speaker 18 (42:11):
And then you look at kind.
Speaker 4 (42:12):
Of a couple of things that happened this year. They
have a big win on the Chargers, the next week
they they they they lose to the Saints in New Orleans.
They have a big win over the Eagles, and then
they then come to the blone lead in Denver, and
then that bloone lead in Denver is followed by another
big bloone lead in Chicago this weekend. And so, you know,
(42:32):
I think it's just like a pattern of things over
and over and over again, and it's this just isn't
getting better.
Speaker 8 (42:38):
So you know, this gives them an.
Speaker 4 (42:41):
Opportunity to you know, really do their research out in
the open and start their search. Now they're gonna look
at Mike Kaska as as as a potential head coaching candidate.
You know, Caska is somebody who's got who played in
the league, who's got you know, the indie reads the
stamp of approval and you know, and and and and
(43:04):
it's really well respected, like had you know, did well
in interviews when he's had the chance to interview for
ed coaching jobs too. But then as far as keeping
Joe Shane, I mean, I I don't know that anything's
set in stone yet. I think that the big thing
for them now is he's done a lot to modernize
their operation. They were really old school, and he's done
a lot to sort of change where they're at and
(43:27):
you know, bring everybody together under one system over the
last four years. So I don't think they just wanted
to throw all of the progress. They're out right away
and didn't see the need to do that right now.
So totally the.
Speaker 8 (43:42):
Head coaching search and we'll see which way that goes.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
You know, we've seen cases in the past where the
general manager made it through an initial firing and didn't
didn't make it through the end. So I'm not saying
anything's impossible, but for now, Joe lie the effort to
go find the next head coach.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
Now, what are the chances that but somebody who currently
is the head coach in Chapel Hill would potentially be
on the list of candidates, Like.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
I think Bill would walk on hot Coles to get
that job. I just I don't know that the Giants
will do it. I mean if this had been ten
years ago, yeah, I could see that. Yeah, he's seventy
three years old and like things haven't gone good of late.
Speaker 8 (44:21):
You know.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
I think one of the biggest problems he's had over
the last five years has been his ability to fill
out of staff. That was one thing he was incredible at,
like when they were really rolling in New England. His
ability to develop people, players, coaches, you know, front office
people that like machine kept churning and charning and charning.
Speaker 8 (44:41):
Over his twenty years and over his first twenty years
New England.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
And really slowed down at the end. And so you know,
I'm rooting for it. You know, Jonas, that would be great.
That'll be an awesome story. You know, like let's get
Bill Belichick Lang Kiff into New York. Like that would
be fun to see those guys there.
Speaker 18 (45:00):
I just don't know.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
That it's the fit for what the Giants need right now.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
Lane Kiffin would be a vibe in New York.
Speaker 8 (45:07):
It would be fun.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
Would that would be a vibe in New York?
Speaker 8 (45:09):
Man?
Speaker 4 (45:10):
That's not really like and you got the connection to
Jackson Dart. But I just that generally hasn't been the
sort of way the Giants go. But I mean, I
think that it's on them now, and to their credit,
they are going to go into this with a really
open mind. That is on them now to rethink a
bunch of things, because you look at the track record
(45:30):
now the last time they successfully hired a head coach,
I had a successful head coaching hire with two thousand
and four with Tom Coughlin. So it's been almost it's
been over twenty years since they've got one of these rights.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Ab I wanted to ask you about Ben Johnson. I mean,
you guys wrote about it, the three stages of winning
and just how he has has really kind of worked
with or I guess team building more so than I
guess winning. But it just seems as though at six
and three, his his impact on on this Beers team
(46:07):
has been outstanding. What's the you know, what's the ceiling
for them this season?
Speaker 4 (46:14):
And from your estimation, I maybe you get in the
playoff seed, scratch out a win, Like I don't know,
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (46:21):
There's much beyond that, but I think.
Speaker 4 (46:23):
You've certainly created a foundation for the future now and
Caleb's find better too, you know. Like that's the other
thing is, like I think what's impressive about it is.
Speaker 18 (46:33):
Like they really got through the early.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
Parts of the season with Caleb being pretty inconsistent and
like going through it and like now it's starting to
feel like they're coming out the other side from a
quarterback development standpoint, not that like he's a superstar, but.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
Oh no, oh, you know, career there he's back.
Speaker 8 (46:58):
We're good.
Speaker 18 (47:00):
Yeah, all right, So.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
I just walked outside for a.
Speaker 8 (47:03):
Second, but I wanted to get some fresh air.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
I appreciate that. Yeah, yeah, So I mean, Mikaale has
made some huge plays the last couple of weeks, the
Throat of Love one to beat the to beat the
Bengals in Cincinnati, and then you know, two big runs
to beat the Giants last week. So you know, I
think that piece of it, like that you're seeing Caleb
like come along as their winning is a great time
(47:27):
for where they're going. And you know, certainly I think
like their ability to build along the line of scrimmage
over the last couple of off seasons, paying off to.
Speaker 9 (47:38):
Hey, Albert, why are you getting shippy with some guy
on X last night? Over at Action in the Northern
Illinois game?
Speaker 8 (47:45):
Oh yeah, that was fun. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
Well, I mean I I live in Massachusetts or state
University is the University of Massachusetts, and so like I
don't know, every so often I'll turn on some Action
and I honestly did not even.
Speaker 8 (47:59):
Know until last night that Ugh mass is now.
Speaker 4 (48:02):
A full member of the of the MAC, which I guess,
like the regional thing with conferences.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
Has been out the window.
Speaker 4 (48:11):
I don't think. I don't think I live in Mid America,
but the State University here's in the Mid America Conference.
So uh yeah, that was that was really ugly. They're
really really bad, I mean, and I.
Speaker 8 (48:26):
Turned on the game thinking, like, you know, because.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
I've had friends that went to you mass, so like
I sort of turned on the game like all right,
like I'm going to come out of this with some
material to just shove in their face, you know what
I mean. And you know, but I thought like going in,
I'm like in order to Illinois is generally like really
really like I mean, historically it's been like a really
good NAC team, right like over the last twenty twenty
five years, always pretty good, all right, Like, so they're
(48:53):
getting you know, they're getting the crap beating out of
them by a good MAC. And then I look down
on the score bug and look at look at the record,
and uh, this is a.
Speaker 18 (49:01):
Pretty down year for North Airlina.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
Yeah, all the way around. I mean, I thought there
was like some unintentional comedy in the game. It was
that was something else. But yeah, I didn't expect. I
didn't expect to get like, you know, shot.
Speaker 18 (49:15):
Fire back on the on the action.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
But but but there are much of uh right there.
Speaker 9 (49:20):
I was in the ring on a Monday night, not
much on the homefield advantage front either, right, yeah.
Speaker 18 (49:27):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was yeah.
Speaker 4 (49:29):
So again, like I didn't expect to be fighting one
of those battles on a Wednesday night, but there I was.
Speaker 6 (49:35):
Albert Breer with us here on Fox Sports Radio, senior
NFL reporter, lead content strategist at the MMQB.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
How's this whole thing with A J. Brown going to
play out? Because it just.
Speaker 6 (49:44):
Feels like, look, if you look at the offense, and
we were talking about it earlier, Saquon Barkley is having
a way down year. Everybody's having a down year, yet
he's the only one that's complaining again like he was
last year.
Speaker 4 (49:56):
Yeah, I think this is sort of like what you
get at that position sometimes is And look, I do
have some sympathy for it because it's like he is
a hyper competitive guy and like, and I think you
even see this with quarterbacks times too, Like Brady was
this way at the end of New England. You can't
expect the guy to be like uber competitive when it
(50:19):
comes to cheam accomplishment and then not be as competitive
about his own personal performance.
Speaker 8 (50:24):
Right, So, like the.
Speaker 4 (50:26):
Fact that the guy, the fact that the guy is
like upset that he's not you know, he's not able
to put up the same sort of numbers that he's
used to, or the offense isn't performing at the level
he's become accustomed to. Like I do, I don't think
that's the worst thing in the world. I think the
problem is that like it keeps happening when they're winning,
(50:48):
and it was happening even last year when they were
pursuing and winning a Super Bowl, you know, And so
it's just one of those things you have to consider,
where's your where's your breaking point? And when does it
become one? Did it get to the point where the
where the problems that way the talent And I'm not
sure that.
Speaker 18 (51:04):
We're there yet.
Speaker 4 (51:06):
And they didn't ever consider trading him in season because
the spot they're in to go and pursue a championship now,
another championship now. But I certainly think it becomes a
discussion point in the off season.
Speaker 8 (51:19):
And the interesting thing about these sorts of things.
Speaker 4 (51:22):
Is obviously all the other teams, the thirty one other
teams see this, Well, there's another team that wants them,
like the Eagles don't need to shop them like that.
That team's going to make that phone call, you know,
when you get to when you get to February and March.
So I certainly think that, you know, if they don't
win another championship, but this is something we'll be revisiting
(51:42):
in the off season and we'll see what happens.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
Albert Keen, Are the Colts for real?
Speaker 3 (51:51):
I know that that's probably cliche at this point or redundant,
whatever it may be.
Speaker 2 (51:55):
But they have the Chiefs coming up.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
I know you've written about or or someone wrote about
the Chiefs still being the best team in the AFC.
The Colts get an opportunity to lockhorns with them. How
much does this provide to the conversation of is this
is this for real what we're seeing in nd.
Speaker 8 (52:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (52:18):
I think, you know, I like, I like, I do
think like Indianapolis has got a pretty complete roster, is
it Like you don't look at anything as like yeah,
like that's that's something that's going to sink some money get.
Speaker 18 (52:32):
To January, like in any in any one area.
Speaker 4 (52:36):
The one thing where I think they've shown some cracks
the last couple of weeks against Pittsburgh and then against
Atlanta is like when the game isn't played on their terms,
they can struggle a little bit, and to their credit,
like I think against Atlanta they were able to reel
it back in and really kind of fload back up
behind Jonathan Taylor. But I think what you see is,
(53:00):
you know, when they're not controlling the pace of the
game or when they have to play from behind, the
offensive line just doesn't look the same.
Speaker 8 (53:07):
And that's I mean, it was. It's been a little
shocking to.
Speaker 4 (53:11):
See it the last couple of weeks, the way that
the way that that that Jones has been hit, the
way he's been sacked by both Pittsburgh.
Speaker 8 (53:19):
And Atlanta, and that it just wasn't happening.
Speaker 18 (53:21):
That way earlier in the year, and that.
Speaker 8 (53:23):
Offensive line was such a strength, you know.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
I think it's sort of indicative too of like what
happens again when you're when you're able to control the
game with Jonathan Taylor and you're never in second and
fifteen and you're never in you know, third and nine.
It's a completely different thing, you know, than than when
all of a sudden you are in those situations with
your offensive line. So that would be the one area
(53:49):
I would look at as like, okay, like is.
Speaker 18 (53:51):
There an offensive line issue?
Speaker 4 (53:53):
And I certainly when it comes when it comes time
to play the Chiefs, like the Chiefs are going to be.
Speaker 18 (53:57):
Able to challenge them in that area because of what
they bring to.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
The table with Chris Jones and George Carlos's and all
the schematic stuff that Te Segnal is able to do.
Speaker 9 (54:09):
Albert, I want to talk to you about just the
Bill's offense.
Speaker 5 (54:14):
They've struggled.
Speaker 9 (54:15):
We saw an article earlier this week where someone throughout
the idea or I guess the question, is Sean McDermott
about Brian Dable after getting fired immediately joined the Bill staff,
which seems.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
A little bit ridiculous.
Speaker 9 (54:27):
I don't even know if that's ever happened quite like
that before.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
I just take us through kind of.
Speaker 9 (54:33):
I don't know, maybe the pressure on Joe Brady and
then is that Has that ever happened before as the
head coach ever gotten fired and immediately joined another team.
Speaker 8 (54:41):
Yeah, it happened last year.
Speaker 4 (54:43):
Robert Sala went to Lafloor staff.
Speaker 5 (54:46):
And immediately after, like the next one.
Speaker 8 (54:49):
It was very soon.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
Yeah, I don't know if it was immediate, but it was.
I don't think it was immediate. I think it was
a few weeks, but like that wasn't like, I mean,
that can be awkward, you know what I mean. Like
in last year, the Packers had a first year defensive coordinator.
So what Lafleur did with Sala was he.
Speaker 8 (55:07):
Took him and he put him on the offensive.
Speaker 4 (55:09):
Staff and he said, okay, like here is a guy
who can see things, you know, through a defensive lens
that can help.
Speaker 8 (55:15):
You guys, just you know, as far as like trouble.
Speaker 4 (55:19):
Shooting, different things and all of that, which I you're
seeing more and more of that now across the NFL,
where more guys are in those sorts of roles. It
would be I think a little unusual when you've gotten
offensive coordinator who now has his experience as Joe Brady
is if like, oh yeah, like we're going to come
in and bring in this guy to give you a hand,
(55:40):
you know what I mean. Like, I I'm not sure
how that would work exactly, but you know, I think
the interesting thing about it is, you know, to me, Brady,
is how we tweak these things become too you know,
like where the Bills had really built.
Speaker 8 (55:55):
Some momentum, like they came out of their by they absolutely.
Speaker 4 (55:59):
Annihilated of Panthers and then they come back and they
beat the Chiefs right in week nine, and now all
of a sudden, the ship's.
Speaker 8 (56:06):
Righted and then they just have like this weird, like.
Speaker 4 (56:10):
Almost like puke all over your shoes game against the Dolphins,
and we're talking big picture problems again. So I you know,
I don't know. I'd like to see like another week
at least of them looking that way before I start
like sounding the alarm. You know, I think you're entitled
to a bad week like that happens in the NFL,
(56:30):
and I wasn't expecting it to happen in that fashion.
But you know, like I think, you know, Josh Allen
and that offense had looked pretty good the two weeks
prior to what happened in Miami.
Speaker 6 (56:43):
Is there any long term concern about the Packers and
sort of how they've looked. I know it's just been
a couple of years since, but it feels like maybe
people are starting to question Matt Lafleur a little bit
more publicly, like what do you make of all that?
Speaker 8 (57:00):
Well? I think I think there are a couple of
reasons why why that's happened.
Speaker 4 (57:03):
Number One, they didn't extend them. You know in the
off season. I think he has two years left on
his deal, and there's a transition of power in Green Bay.
And for those who don't know, the team president in
Green Bay is is he's not the owner, but he
almost has the power of being the owner. Right So
Mark Murphy had been there forever, he had hired the
(57:25):
floor at policy, became the president there at the end
of July. And I think anytime there's that sort of
transition of power, you know, there are gonna be some questions, Okay,
like does the new boss wanted to bring in his
own guys, So that's a natural question. Then they don't
extend him, and you know, then they go all in
on this current group. Now they've already paid Jordan Love,
(57:45):
of course, but then they they make the move for
Michael Parsons, which really is implicitly saying like we believe
like we're in a championship window right now. And you know,
so that puts pressure on everybody. And when you have
a night like they had the other night where the
defense looks just fine, like the investment in Parsons face
working out, and you know, the offense can't get out
(58:07):
of its own way with your fifty five million dollar quarterback.
Speaker 8 (58:11):
Then you know, the questions are going to be answered
on the.
Speaker 4 (58:14):
Coaching staff, especially.
Speaker 8 (58:16):
When the head coaches on the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
Now, I still think they're behind Matt and I think
they'll be.
Speaker 8 (58:21):
They'll be okay, But they have been very.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Scattershot on the on offense over the course of this year.
Speaker 8 (58:28):
And they've struggled to find consistency.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
And I think one thing that hurt them the other night,
Tucker Kraft had kind of grown into becoming a focal
point for them offensively. He's obviously down for the year now.
And the offensive line, you know, had.
Speaker 8 (58:43):
I think had some real issues dealing.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
With the Eagles front, which you know, if you have
that sort of issue with that sort of front, you're
going to see more of those in the playoffs. And
so could that be a long term concern, you know,
just as far as where they go when we get
to January, it could be, which you know, again, because
they're one and done in the playoffs, you'd probably hear
more of these big picture questions.
Speaker 6 (59:04):
All right, ab moment of truth, Yeah truth, Yeah, here
we go. It's a big one.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
Yeah, Ohio State UCLA.
Speaker 8 (59:12):
Oh go to the shoe.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 6 (59:17):
Do you believe that at the end of that big
matchup this Saturday night that Ohio State will have won
the game by more than thirty two and a half points.
Speaker 4 (59:26):
It's thirty two and a half.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
That's a big line.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
That is a big line. Oh see, I'm thinking something
like thirty eight to seven. The last time Nico was
there is helmet got split in half.
Speaker 5 (59:40):
He played all right in that game?
Speaker 4 (59:42):
Oh what Nico?
Speaker 8 (59:43):
Oh yeah, no, No.
Speaker 18 (59:44):
He was fine in that game.
Speaker 4 (59:45):
He was fine. I mean, it's not like they kicked
him out. They wanted him back right, Like, Yeah, I
would say, dude, I have Purdue covering last week.
Speaker 18 (59:55):
No I didn't.
Speaker 4 (59:56):
I think I'd mess.
Speaker 18 (59:57):
This up a couple of weeks in a row.
Speaker 8 (59:59):
So I would say take U c l A in
the points.
Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
Wow, okay, yeah, I just think.
Speaker 8 (01:00:07):
Albert last week.
Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
No last week.
Speaker 8 (01:00:09):
So last week.
Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
What screwed me up last week was like our coach
is legitimately treated that like a scrimmage. That's a Purdue team.
By the way, it took Michigan into deep water. But
that's neither here but Purdue. Like there was there were
some there were some interesting substitution patterns in that Purdue
game if you really watch it, like it was legitimately
being treated like a scrimmage, and I'm a little afraid
(01:00:34):
of that happening again. If I'm betting on this, you
know what, screw it, I'll take the buck eyes.
Speaker 8 (01:00:38):
Yeah, screw it, screw it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
I'll take the buck eyes to cover where's big noon
at this weekend, Brady.
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
We're covering your arch nemesis. We'll be for uh nice.
Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Nice.
Speaker 8 (01:00:53):
I actually thought I actually thought about going last year.
Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
I don't know how that is for.
Speaker 8 (01:00:56):
A football game today, they still have to go.
Speaker 18 (01:00:58):
In only one direction and that's the way it is.
Speaker 5 (01:01:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
That's a good question.
Speaker 9 (01:01:02):
I actually had the same question, and that has not
been answered yet. So I'm pretty sure that a few
years ago, right like, yeah, they can figure.
Speaker 5 (01:01:09):
It a way of doing it now where I believe
they go both directions.
Speaker 9 (01:01:13):
So unless that, unless I'm wrong in assuming that, I'll
be updated here shortly.
Speaker 5 (01:01:18):
There you go.
Speaker 8 (01:01:19):
We'll keep me on that.
Speaker 5 (01:01:22):
Yeah, I'm sure you're really curious what the Michigan does
this week.
Speaker 6 (01:01:25):
Albert, we appreciate it as always, get him on X
at Albert Prier. He is the senior NFL reporter, lead
content strategist at the m m QB at a Thursday
tradition here on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Thanks Aby, all right, Bud, Yeah, that was I remember that.
Speaker 6 (01:01:42):
And they didn't even think that through when they put
the first game in Wrigley, Like, hey, you know, there's
not enough room here because the stadium's not big, and
so they had to just go in one direction for
an actual football game, like an actual regular season game,
they had to go in one direction. So pretty old school,
but I think they've gotten.
Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
That all thing out there. Dang dang, dang, tang tang,
what a place. I'm jealous tank.
Speaker 6 (01:02:05):
By the way, we are brought to you by the
Home Depot. Makita tools at the Home Depot are built
with precision without shortcuts. Designed for the toughest jobs. Is

Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
All right? Coming up next here, that's out the Edward
was he the dang counter? Hopefully I caught.
Speaker 5 (01:02:26):
Up tang damn.
Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
Coming up next here, we are going to tell you how.
Speaker 6 (01:02:35):
Uh, how things were supposed to change in one division
in the NFL, but apparently they're just going to continue
on staying the same.
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
That'll be yours here on FSR.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
You want to know what doesn't change that amazingness of
a football? Win that food when you put a little
bit of that og original luis again a hot sauce
on it. Whoo hitcho, taste budgs with fire, because there's
nothing like bringing the heat from that original Louisiana hot sauce,
(01:03:10):
the peppery peppers, the vinegar and the salt, the humanity
of Louisiana flavor masters who have been blending perfectly for
almost one hundred years. It'll turn every good meal into
a great meal, and every great meal into a party
on your plate in your mouth. WHOA, that's right, Wings,
(01:03:34):
not chos burgers, don't matter. You hit it with that
original Louisiana hot sauce and it is unbeatable.
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
That's right. And listen.
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
If your team didn't do well while you was tailgate
and eat your good food, don't worry about it. Pour
that Louisiana hot sauce on it anyway, because well it
eats the pain.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
And listen, you want to enjoy your food on a
whole different level like I do. Just jump into some
original Louisiana hot sauce that's Louisiana hot.
Speaker 5 (01:04:07):
Make sure you buy you some
