Speaker 1 (00:02):
Is the best of two pros and a couple Joe
with Lamar Airings rating win and Jonas Knox on radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hello.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Yeah, they're back.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Big time talking about baseball opening Day.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Oh no, some of the Sweet sixteen. Oh cool? Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
You seem to be real fired up about the NCAA tournament,
more so this year than others. For some reason.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Can't imagine because his poll is his bracket is doing well.
My poll, whoa, I mean that's doing well too. Congratulations
on the latest.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Yeah, I'm just saying that. You guys keep making about that.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
I just it's more exciting, like we're gonna get the
Donna national champion. We don't have a Yukon team that's
dominated the past couple of years or it's been they've
been the clear cut favorite. They're out of the tournament now.
I mean, Dan Hurley, he could be in some deep water,
but based on what an investigation finds. He was saying
after that loss, but we're gonna have a new champion,
(01:11):
and I'm really curious to see who it's going to be.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I mean, but your bracket takes precedence over all of that,
Like that.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Is that's not true?
Speaker 5 (01:22):
That's what it is how I would phrase it is,
I am carrying the flag for our show. I mean
someone's got to do it. Unfortunately neither of you two
did it, so someone's got to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Damn.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
I mean they say the sun shines on a blind
dog's I ask, at least one time in its life,
and this is the time that it's shining on yours.
I mean, you've never been this high in the Bracket
Challenge and that's not true. You're ever You've never been
this That's actually one hundred percent not true. When have
you ever been high on a like? When have you
(01:53):
ever finished?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
What? Top five two years ago? Top five? Probably top ten? Okay,
top ten everybody. I mean, we only have so many hosts.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
One year, Brady picked the sh stink at Bracket Challenges.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Bro. Yeah, but you're good.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
You're good today though Brady picked the n I T
on accident.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
I mean, LeVar, we haven't worked together that long for
you have any clue what you're talking about.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
But that is status quo for one LeVar Anerton. You
know what I mean? You could take that you gave us.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
You gave us some great information last night, by the way,
in one situation that was like three days late. I
was like, this is a great text, it's just a
little bit late at this point in the week.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, but I like confirmation. You know.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
That was confirmation that was sent on Sunday. There was
a Wi Fi glitch and it just went through yesterday.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
That's not sure. Well, I don't get it.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
LeVar acts like I don't talk to anyone that's in
the no on anything. It's like, I'm not, I don't.
I don't act like anything. You act like that, like
you said.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
You think I'm You were late and you haven't worked
with me long. We're on our second contract in this thing. Man,
chill out, damn well.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Good exactly, but we're also not on apparently you don't
have recalling that many bracket challenges.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
I have not done bad, my friend.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Oh my gosh, you've never finished in the top five. Bro,
chilly relaxed. Man, what you're coming in?
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Hot man?
Speaker 4 (03:07):
What's it's Thursday? I know it's basketball. I can be
good at that too. It's a feel good. Well, you
gotta be good at everything.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
We know that.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
Just don't forget Lee's here too. I'm right behind your brady, you.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Don't you dah I don't even you know, don't even
insert yourself in this moment, bro, Like, let us have
our moment. I don't even don't even take the focus
away from from the tense moments. Me and Q like
to create every once in a while and make everybody
sit there and say, oh, they hate each other. Oh
my gosh, did you hear them this morning? Like, we
(03:38):
don't hate each other people, We don't.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
We're good.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Somebody asked, we can we can break balls? You know
that that is part of what we do. Somebody asked
me about that one we're singing and work color.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I see me five.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I told you there's just it's just a racial thing,
like it is. I wanted people to be calm everything.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah, it's just about that French tickler and that. And
don't forget about the fangs either.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
I'm so pale, I'm not even white. Can't be raised
for them. You can't even see him, all right. So
that being said, Lee, where where are these standings at?
Because I believe I'm right behind Brady LeVar.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
It's like I don't even know what I'm seventh, you.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Mean eleven points behind that? Correct?
Speaker 7 (04:35):
Jonas Brady is in second place, very high in them
all together, standings with.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Who's coming up, who's holding us down in the top ten,
who's holding us down in the top ten?
Speaker 7 (04:46):
He's in third place with fifty two, right behind Brady
there and a good job there.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Are you? Are you in that pole? I didn't see
your name in that pole in particular.
Speaker 7 (04:56):
I run the pole, dude, Let's go, Yeah, var your yeah?
Geez uh uh.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
You are?
Speaker 4 (05:09):
I mean at least I heard it here first they
said there's no breaking news.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
At this hour, LeVar.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
You are there with the likes of Steve Seger and
Aaron Torre is very high up there.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
So I think that's great company there.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
I mean, I'm going to move up after this sweet
six sweet six team round.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
I'm gonna move Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
I see it there.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
And so you're you you want to go there too?
Do you want to be that guy? You want to
be that guy? Because I mean, the Empire always strikes
back to you. That's have you not figured out I
was the leader of the key key like.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Don't do it? Wait? Did did the Empire always strike back?
I did know?
Speaker 4 (05:50):
They always strike back? No, bro, they like have different
Like if you how.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Would it end? Didn't it? End on like a igh
note if you really.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Pay attention to the Star Wars movies that the Empire
like the what are they called the Federation and all
that other Listen, they're all they're the most funded. They're
they're like Duke, They're they're like, you know, notre Dame.
They're they're like, you know, the superpowers. They got all
the n I L. Money, they got all the resources,
(06:25):
they got all of the players, they got everything. It's
just you see these rebels and they do pretty good.
They do pretty well, and they like to make you
feel like they're a happy ending to the story. But
it really isn't it really isn't. You you got you
got the darts, you know, you you got all these
(06:46):
you know, they're they're super bad.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
The Empire always strikes back the sticks picks.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Yeah, just the fact that the rebels even fought in
the first place, that made it even relevant to say
that they fought back. But you ever noticed they were
always hiding from the Empire, and Empire has always like
got their big ships and they.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Got the Death Star that's about to be completed.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
The rebels was always hot and running, being attacked every
once in a while.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
They come up with a little victory. Yeah. Yeah, well
they was getting spanked too, you know.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Is that what is that like? Is this Star Wars stuff?
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yeah? Star Wars?
Speaker 6 (07:26):
I thought we were talking Harry Potter.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
No, I was always I was always in the Harry Potter.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Isn't that hard hitting? Were you?
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I wasn't really into the what's that word? The geeky stuff?
I wasn't really not For.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Some reason, I'd be doing lego sets with my kids,
like still to date, we do, you know, Star Wars
lego sets and we watch if you have Disney, if
you watch it on Disney, they have like all of them,
and you can like watch Bobo fet and and Han
Solo and all whatever.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I call them Bobo fet.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
What do you laughing at?
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Bobo?
Speaker 4 (08:04):
That's what I've always called him, Bobo fat. I've always
called him, so I'm gonna call him Bobo fat. My
mom said Bobo fat. I'm musa say Bobo.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
By the way, what a lame name? Who came over
the cast of characters for that geek movie.
Speaker 7 (08:18):
Losers Jonas, You are in tenth place with forty three points.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, well you know, barely ten.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
That's all right?
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Does flip flop to just flip flop this year, that's all.
You got lucky last year? Didn't you get lucky last year?
Speaker 5 (08:37):
Brady? I mean, uh, John, I don't get it. I
mean it's literally one year. Last yearn't did great? I
mean I've done this for years. Has been hasn't been this?
Speaker 8 (08:46):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Has been bad? Is this truly? Is this true? Does
he finish in the top five every year?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:54):
He does.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
Actually, you're usually in the mix, actually, Lamar, I'm like,
I don't know where you get this from. I feel
like you just form of your opinions based on how
you wake up, how you feel that.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
I mean, it's possible, that's not not possible, it is
certainly possible that.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
I mean, I'll put it this way.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
I've always filled out the entire bracket. I cannot say
that for Jonas there.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
That's not a representation of my ability to fill out
a bracket successfully. That's a representation on the Wi Fi
connection and the fact that they can't embrace somebody who
likes to let everybody wait before he put his picks in.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
And also Lee, Well, I was gonna ask Lee, how
far ahead did you know that?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Like Jonas had only filled out half the bracket that year.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
I probably wasn't on top of it that year, Otherwise
I would have told.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Him why didn't Lee feel like? You do? Know? Lee
is the caretaker of one Jonas Knock.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Why did you not finish out or fill out the
rest of the bracket for him?
Speaker 7 (09:56):
No, until it's actually filled out and submitted. So it's
not like I'm over shoulder filling it out for him.
I do that for some people like Ernie Spander and others.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
But I mean, I gave you my bracket. You know
I don't mess around with these electronics all like that.
So I gave you mine.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Yeah, I helped you out last year by filling out, uh,
correcting one of your picks.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Hold on now, relax, brother, So you're trying to say
that my success that I had last year was based
off of what you did to my to my bracket.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
What you're trying to.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
Say an extra few points I did, by miss Bye,
by messing up your bracket.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
I did help you out.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Got that touch, all right?
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Well what happened? You made the wrong picks from it? It
worked out for Lavars, Yeah, dang, I'll never confirm that.
I'll tell you that it happens sometimes. You know, I'm not.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Giving you that type of credit. I'll never confirm it ever,
not one time. So I don't even know what.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
You're talking see, you know what, you know, it's kind
of a pain in the ass about this whole thing. Brady,
you have Duke winning at all?
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Correct? I did a poll.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Yeah that too. Yeah, there it's that.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Z's dead.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah. So here's here's what's screwed about the whole thing.
There's literally no possible way I win if the team
I also have winning, which is Duke wins the national
title because you go to St.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
John's.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Because Brady waited until after my pull might and was
in and then in.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Fact, Scott reached out to me first and said thank
you for submitting years before.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Jonas, I don't know that that's accurate.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Jonas, you're such a passive, aggressive dude, bro, Like that'll
be ten dollars ten dollars for what because that, like
what you just did. It's unacceptable, man, it really is.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Let me tell you.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Let me tell you something right now.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Sway, Like, Bro, you do know that that you do
know that Brady goes into like a room that is
set up by somebody who attends to the Quinn family.
They set it up. He went there, he sat with
his daughter. They had like three monitors on the wall.
They had like three laptops in front of them. They
(12:15):
hit jack Chat GPT on one, they hit the other
DIP on the other rock, they hit GROC on the
other one, and then they went online and just freestyled
it on the other you know screen. They pulled everything
up together. They took all of the data, they looked
at it. They pulled out highlighters, they printed out papers,
they looked, They did eliminations and came up with the bracket.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
He says that every me and my daughter, you know,
she's doing a little bit better than me. Like bro
that Like, if it's a religious thing, don't mess with it. Bro.
That's that's all I can tell you. He comes from Ohio,
he played in Indiana. Clearly he's a basketball savant. So
like relaxed, Jonas, let.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Me take your relax and take your l's Jonas LaVar.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Let me tell you something. If you were to put
your hands on me, I'm swinging.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
You swing it.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
If that man puts his hands on your hand, I'm
immediately swinging.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
What you swinging at. What you swinging at?
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Air? You're looking for air for your lungs. What you
what you're gonna swing at? I'll tell you right what
type of confrontation? Why are you talking about confrontation? If
LeVar puts his hands on me, I'm swinging. Ain't nobody
mistaken stephen A for no fighter? Man, that you're too
old in your life. Man, you don't even got to
say no mess like that.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Brouh. Leave that one alone. That man hits you on
you like disappearing for a cloud of dust. Relax?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
What what has happened to this industry?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
I don't get it? Man?
Speaker 4 (13:53):
Why why are these dudes so like? Why they's so
like valant though? Like I don't understand. Every any time
these dudes get into like an exchange, it like always
turns into the See that's how you know they not defenders.
You never see defenders do this, man, You don't never
see defenders crash out like you never sit here and
hear me say something. I'll knock his ass out, Like
(14:16):
you know, I'll knock your ass out, you know I will.
What I'm gonna talk about some physical stuff for if
it's imminent danger, that's the only time you will ever
see LeVar be any type of violent. You won't ever
hear me talk violent. Nothing, nothing, just joking around. But
I'm not a valiant dude, you know what I mean,
which is crazy because my position called for me to
(14:38):
be a valiant dude. These soft ass dudes I'll here
be talking all this head Man, you wouldn't bust a
great You wouldn't work your way out of a wet
paper bag. Soft this some wet toilet tissue talking about something.
I'm gonna get at him immediately if he puts it. Man,
shut your ass up. You ain't nobody here take worried
about all of.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
That, you know, us thinking to because you know, being
with my kids on spring break, one of them found
like a little fishing lure that's like kind of.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Shiny, and you know, my daughter was like, hey, dead,
like what is this?
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Like?
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Why why would.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
Someone put the song with it with a hook to
catch a fish? Like well, you know, it attracts to
the eye of the fish sometimes, and like even sharks
and stuff like that, they'll say like they can kind
of see like the shininess or whatever. And I was thinking,
going back to what you're saying, right, Now, maybe the
shininess of that oxygen tank happened to like with that
(15:31):
whole you know, fish to cuffs that went off out
of that song.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Maybe I had to do with it, you know what
I'm saying. Maybe maybe you're the.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Shark and it just happened to like, you know, attract
your attention or however that worked.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
For those of you that are not familiar. LeVar was
seen on camera assaulting a man on hospice, So that's
that's kind of where now that whole played out.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
It was a second.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
If I if I was like you know that, I
could have sworn somebody has given him his last rights
in the background, but again, what do I know.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
And walked up to him.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
They were If I was as valid as Stephen A
is and talking about being valient, then that dude would
have been in drouble.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
That's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
You know, if I'm executing like what Stephen A talking about,
I would immediately, you know, disarm that man of his
oxygen tank, of his of his lifeline, whatever it is
that's connected to him.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Man.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
You know, but that ain't me. You know, I turned
over a different leaf in life. Man, I'm peaceful. What
do we do like all this time later, Like what
are you doing?
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Man?
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Like you're an immediate like bro, like you're in the
you're in the media, even us as former players. And
I know he'll say he's a former player, which that
you know.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Take it or leave it, I guess. But let's be.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Clear here, man, even as former players, you are now
a civilian. Your superpowers really are gone. It's like you
went into the chamber, like like Superman did, said he
wanted to be human so he could be with Lois Lane,
took it, boom, came out, didn't have superpowers no more.
Went to the little little diner, was eating and then
the dude looked at him and was like, what are
(17:14):
you talking about? You know, Christopher Reeves look at him, like,
what are you talking about? Dude, pops him in the face.
He's like huh pluck Like, hey, bro, you are normal
stephen A. We are normal.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Them dudes that's still playing, They ain't.
Speaker 9 (17:28):
No.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
I don't care how old Lebron is, He's still not normal.
That man's body is in a different type of condition.
It's it's trained differently than you. What you're talking about'ma
I'm gonna throw hands with him immediately if he touches
the man, get out of here, bro, any of us
like state like we gotta stay it. Like learn that
you are not the bigger star than these athletes.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
Man, just accept it.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
You not the same women, Like you may get some
good looking women, Steven Ay, but the same women.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
That which I know you gotta chick whatever. But the same.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
People are not gonna want you that want Lebron James.
The same people that want to be around Lebron James
if they want to.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Be around you, You're like you're not in first place.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Like if Lebron comes walking in while they're talking to you,
they're gonna walk away from you to go try to
talk to and clamor to Lebron James. Just get over it, man,
Like these dudes just got to get over it. And
understand you're in media like it holds a place, it
holds a purpose. But be humbling your approach and understand
what your role is.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Man. Your role is to.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Report on them, to give your opinion on the real stars.
Those are the stars. I'm sorry if you run the game,
if you're a Gus Johnson and you're running the game
and you know, you're a Joe Buck. You're running the game.
Like if you're running the game, all right, you're a star.
You're a star of the show. You're one of the
stars of the show. But make no mistake about it, Stephen.
(18:54):
They saying I'm stuff like that. Man, that's like exposure, man,
Stop exposing yourself, you say on like a straight douchebags
for real, Like what do you mean You're gonna put
hands on him immediately, like after all this time that
it happened, Like it don't make no sense, man, he's
just looking for attention. Yeah, well that's what sounds like.
At least, why you're gonna talk violence. Man, you're gonna
(19:17):
throw violence out there, like for what, you're an old
ass man, we old as hell. That stuff don't sound right, man.
You like you're you're you're a respective person in the industry.
There are young people that respect you. There are people
in college that are aspiring to be like you. People
see your contract, fight with your contract, Like, just talk
about how well you're doing in the industry, in the
(19:37):
field you're in, like like fight like that. Don't talk
about no violence, man, Don't nobody want to hear about no.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Fighting and no violence. It's stupid man.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
That's that's like a lack of education that goes along
with that. We all know that he's not uneducated. So
why are you talking like low end man, like people
handle things with violence when they don't have any other
record of how to handle this situation.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Like I'm gonna put my hands on him.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Nah, I'm gonna put my hands on my cell phone
and I'm gonna call my lawyer up and I'm gonna say,
we're going to get some of this Lebron James money
because he put his hands on me. Not No, I'm
gonna throw hands back, like who you proving something to man?
Let me get some of that LBJ money?
Speaker 3 (20:17):
You know what I mean? You can never have enough
of them.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
So, the New York Giants have a brand new quarterback,
not named Jamis Winston, not named Tommy DeVito. He is
none other than Russell Wilson. He was making the rounds
him and Sierra met with Brian Daball. They were also
at a Knicks game. If I'm not mistaken, you know,
just letting everybody know they're in town, they're here, they're
ready to go. They met with him last year, didn't
(20:56):
get it done. He went to Pittsburgh. Now he's a
member of the New York Giants, and Russ talked about
his expectations for his arrival in New York with the team.
Let's take a listen.
Speaker 10 (21:06):
Yeah, I expect get started and coming here and be
graded rock and roll every day to get a lead.
I think this team's really looking for somebody to lead
them in every way. This might be my fourteenth year
to be able to lead an amazing group of men
that really have big hopes and goals and dreams and
desires and we all have to share the same goal.
And so I think that's the best part about it
is I get to be around a lot of them.
(21:26):
You know, extremely should be talented guys.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
I'm convinced, I don't know about you, guys. That's the
QB one right there. And this does open up the
potential for either a trade out of three or you
just take best player available and the Giants are off
and running nice little bounce back year for New York
coming up here.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
The reality is, with like a lot of the reportings
surrounding the signing, because I've seen everyone kind of report like, hey,
it's not that big of a financial commitment, and it
said the same thing about Jamis Winston. So they're still
open to taking a quarterback. Don't get me wrong, they are.
I don't know that they're going to take a quarterback
at three. And the reason why I said that is
(22:09):
I think if there's Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter there,
both those prospects.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Might be too good for them to turn down.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
And they've got two quarterbacks they feel good about from
a veteran perspective.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
And no disrespect to Tommy.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
Cutlet's all right he's there as well, but I think
they know what they've gotten him at this point. I
would not be shocked if they don't draft the quarterback
in the second.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Or third round.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
I think they're going to find there's guys who are
more appropriately valued for their skill set. Where we've talked
about this draft quarterback draft class, and we talked about
this with other other positions. There's not like the top
end guys we're looking at, I guess compared to last
year's quarterback class, but there are some guys in the
middle that probably aren't getting as much respect or aren't
(22:55):
getting the dues for what they're capable of. So again
I've made named Riley Leonard wouldn't be shocked if you
know he didn't find his way there, just from some
conversations I've had in regards to how that particular team
feels about him. I've you know, talked to some other
folks about some other guys who up there. Will Howard
I think did nothing but help his improve his draft
(23:17):
stock over the course of their national championship run, where
when I left the field in Columbus watching them play
Ohio State versus Michigan, I was like, man, I don't know, Like,
I'm not sure how he's going to be viewed. You know,
they needed something there at the end of that game,
and his bannerisms, everything is like it felt like the
moment was too big for him. Now, granted, when you
(23:40):
really look at what they did in the playoff, I
don't want to say it was like front running, but
like he came out right out the gate. They came
out swinging, so they didn't need as many crucial moments
throughout the course of that national championship run. But the
point still stands, like he made the throws, he made
the plays. I think he did nothing but help us stock.
(24:00):
So there's a lot of quarterbacks who fall in that category.
I mean, Jalen Milroe has exceptional athleticism, a dynamic ability
to run the football. He's got a strong enough the
arm to make all the throws. So how will a
team evaluate that? Because the one thing the NFL rewards
is when you have exceptional or extraordinary talent, right Like
(24:24):
we've all seen guys who got drafted where yeah, maybe
it didn't work out, but they for a quarterback, they
had a rocket for an arm, or they were incredibly
dynamic running the football, and they draft them because they thought, hey,
with enough development and in the right system, situation and circumstance,
we can make this work. Like we can make this
guy special, because that's what wins in the NFL. It's really,
(24:46):
really hard to build an entire roster and team around
a quarterback position that needs an O line, needs the receivers,
needs all that. You know, you're more often than not
today seeing the quarterbacks have to be that high tide
that raises all boats. So, uh, you know, looking at
this year's quarterback draft class, if you can't get cam Ward,
(25:09):
are they looking at the Shadoor Sanders Jackson Dart at
the same and saying maybe I'll just wait to take
a guy that we don't feel like?
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Is that far?
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Like like there might be a thought where there's more
separation between cam Ward and Shador Sanders and Jackson Dart
than there is between Shadoor Sanders, Jackson Dart and Tyler Shucks.
The Will Howard's the Rother, Lenon's the whoever you gonna
throw in that conversation Like that's That's one of the
debates that I think is going on right now with
a lot of these teams who are looking at quarterbacks
(25:39):
but maybe don't want to have to spend that that
first round pick on one.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
I think it's I think it's Travis Hunter that that
ends up going to New York. I think that would
be a tremendous pick up for them. And and I'm
curious if, if, and when that were to happen, what
does that look like? Are you using him as a
weapon to go along with neighbors on the offensive side
(26:07):
of the ball, or are you just really using him
to focus in and dial in on being a top end,
top level cover corner in the league. But I think
that signing signing Russell Wilson definitely signified the fact that
there's a strong possibility that they wanted to solidify their
(26:30):
quarterback room going into the draft. And now you have
three on your roster. Do you draft one with the
three that you have? I mean, you know, I think
it's a hard I think it's a hard sell to
say you're going to bring in a guy that's going
to get a rookie contract, and you already have two
(26:53):
guys you know that can start right now, and probably
if they don't start right now, you have one that's
gonna be a good backup one that's gonna be I
don't who knows what they're going to be as a starter,
But I don't know that it's a given that both
Jamis and Russell stay on the roster going into the season.
(27:14):
So maybe there's that there's the idea of that, you know,
you draft a quarterback and one of those guys go
maybe even de Veto goes and they key I don't know,
but I think that they made this move specifically to
clear way set set their goal to get get a
Travis Hunter in in the draft. That's that's what I
(27:35):
would I would think this move signifies is that they're
not taking taking a player at the third pick, or
even using that third pick if they have it. But
I think that if I'm a betting man, I'm gonna
say that they're gonna probably go with Travis Hunter. Now,
it would be interesting if Abdul Carter is still there
(27:55):
at three, but I don't Again, we made the point,
and multiple people have made the point point that they
do not need a defensive end that that would be
a to me, that would be a waste of a pick.
So if you're going to get the most bang for
your buck at pick number three, it's probably going to
be Travis Hunter.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
The odds would dictate. All right, So are we all
on the on the same page here? We're all in agreement. Finally,
after all the conversation and dialogue, cam Ward's going number
one overall, Like everybody sold, like we're good here, everyone.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
I just want to I stand.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
I mean, you know, ten toes down man, and I
don't know how.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Hard for me. I'm a stage stat fat whatever.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
Have you ever tried to stand without your toes down?
Like it's kind of hard? Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
I mean my dad has done that, but yeah, I
haven't been able.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
To do it.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
I actually, you know, I'm saying like I had like
Plate's class one time they were trying to get me.
I was like, what what are you doing? They're like, oh,
it's good for your feet. And I don't think I
can raise my toes up like that. Like, I'm not
sure what you're asking me.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
To do here.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
I have flat feet, so I probably can't raise my
toes up very much. But so you don't really have
an option, like every time you have to be ten
toes down, they gotta be down unless I'm like sitting
down or something like that.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
You know, I'll take my feet up off the ground,
you know. But yeah, this piic.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I mean some have said eleven toes down, that's.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
A good one. Some people do have eleven toes. Some
people have fuse You ever see a cat with a
fuse toe. I've seen that too, where they like they
had a fused toe, like they fuse a toe on
like they have two toes and there's like no webbing.
They're like just like they came out together and they're
stuck together.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
They're like siga these twins.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Really yeah, I've seen that before.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
And it wasn't eleventh. It wasn't eleventh, It wasn't a tenth,
it wasn't eleventh, which was interesting.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Maybe not.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
I mean, maybe they got a little bit more, a
little bit more wiggle to them because of it, you know,
a little bit more balanced.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
But I am I am eluding.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
I am trying to kind of sidestep the question, and
the question being is cam Ward a foregone conclusion to
go number one? I think I have to come to
the side of of acceptance that cam Ward is most
likely going to be the number one of the picking draft.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Your stubbornness is absurd. Sometimes I just like I admire
it because it's the I'm going down swinging no matter
what I off Steven A.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Smith, But you would have died on the Titanic.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
I want you to know that you would have been
there playing an instrument on the Titanic as it went down.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
I just I just want you to know that violent
made one women.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
I would have made sure the women and children were safe,
and then I would have went a hit and took
my swan dive. Now I would have been trying to survive.
I would have been trying to figure something out, but
I ultimately, yeah, I probably would have.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Yeah, I know this soldiered up.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
If you would swan dive down in there and I
was just floating on a piece of luggage like Rose,
I wouldn't be that selfish ahole who just went ahead
and like let you die.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
I'd pull you off floating luggage as well. I believe that. Yeah,
I believe that. I believe in.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
Anyone, and I find that preposterous in that story. I'm like, really,
like you, you couldn't have just helped the dude up
in on the suitcase.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Yeah yeah, and then she just let him go.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
He just disappeared her.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
After all that passion in that car in the storage compartment.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Yeah yeah, man, I.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Would have gotten my own raft and slashed anybody else's, you.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
Know, And that's that's exactly the type of person you are. Yeah, him,
you would have been that dude that's going there. You'd
have walked on there like like come on, I'm helping you, Like, oh,
you want to be at a hero, like I'm helping
all the women and children on while you're on the
raft helping the women and children and.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Asked for their belongings first, so I had stuff on
the raft after I cut them loose and let their
arcs go get them while they were kicking in the water.
And I'm just half sailing free.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Dang, you know, crazy guys, I don't no good good.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Well, two things.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
The first thing I was gonna say is like that
was the movie like back during my era, where you
wanted to take like a girl or your girlfriend, and
it was like it worked for a number of reasons
because they wanted to see it right, they loved like
Leonardo DiCaprio and the story. But then there was also
like there was the sadness and then there was like
the passion, and so there's like multiple moments where you
(32:49):
kind of had that chance at the movie theater.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
It's kind of like, all right, you had you got Mono.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
That's what you got. You got Mono in high school
one hundred and you almost probably had to miss a game,
whether it was a basement no, never miss Is this.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
A hip of violation? Like what are we doing here?
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Is statue of limitations, statue of limitations.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I got to say, told me he did the popcorn trick.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
In history.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
That colonel there, like that colonel at the bottom. They're like, hey,
they put a mic and I can here.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
What was worse? That's not the way it was supposed
to go. Well, you're supposed to have a little bit
more in the box.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Yeah, a lot of popcorn.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
What was more selfish letting Leo drown?
Speaker 7 (33:42):
Or the fact that she threw that Heart of the
Ocean necklace into the ocean while her granddaughter is like
behind on the bills taking care of her.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
She's got this fifty six parents.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I didn't even remember that part.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Of also a selfish moment. She threw that bad boy away. Yeah,
it wasn't no reason to throw it away.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
You know, she should have cast it in ooops, she
could have shouldn't have to cash it in for her daughter.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Though you say that.
Speaker 7 (34:06):
Her granddaughter's taking care of her is drowning in debt.
You the beginning of the movie, you of all.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
People who are driving around in your dead grandma's car
after you you drank all her booze. She left me
the damn boos in the car. Thank you, Carol Mom, like, rip,
where's the jacket.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
Drink?
Speaker 6 (34:28):
It was good, Brandy.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
He literally wiped her out of all her booze at
the wake.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Got be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington,
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
It is a Thursday tradition here on the show. He
is the great alper Breer, Senior NFL reporter, lead content
strategist at the m m QB, the star of Amazon's
NFL on prime coverage, and our good buddy a B.
What's happening.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
All right?
Speaker 2 (35:03):
So we were talking about the Questia Dolpha Mensa comments
about the situation in Minnesota quarterback Kevin O'Connell's relationship with
Aaron Rodgers, etc.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
Etc.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Why does it feel like they've continued to keep the
door open for speculation about somebody other than JJ McCarthy
being the quarterback when there's been plenty of opportunities to close.
Speaker 8 (35:27):
It because I think they have a team that is
in position to win right now. In other words, they're
not in a position that a lot of teams that
young quarterbacks are which is the rebuilding or they're just
the start of something. Yeah, this is a fourteen win team.
This is a team that's got a lot of accomplished veterans.
(35:48):
And you guys know the names Jeffson, Christian Darrisaw, you know,
Jonathan Gernard, Byron Murphy, like Harrison Smith, Like, how do
you go to those guys, tell them you've done everything
he possibly can to give them the best possible answer
a quarterback when it's just a guy coming a guy
who's never played an NFL game, who's never dressed for
(36:09):
an NFL game, And that's nothing against J. J. McCarthy,
is just a fact, you know, you know, I think
there's you know, there's there's there's that feeling I think
for them that we got to do everything we possibly
can to make sure that we're covered at that position.
And so look like he lost a lot of weight
last year, he lost four months of on field development time,
(36:30):
and you know, I think there are fair questions and
how that's going to affect him going into twenty twenty five.
Doesn't mean he's never going to be a great player.
They lost the LAEF in him or anything like that.
It's just sort of where you are. You know, when
you have the team that you have and you have
a quarterback situation, they do and and look they.
Speaker 9 (36:49):
Telegraph it too.
Speaker 8 (36:49):
I mean they offered Daniel Jones fifteen million to stay.
They offered Sam Darnold more than that. Ye, Aaron Rodgers
is a different deal because with Aaron Rodgers, instead of
like creating competition in the room, you would be sort
of slamming on the pause button on the JJ McCarthy
era in Minnesota. But I mean, make no mistake about like,
you know, the way they've they've they've conducted themselves here.
(37:12):
You know they want insurance against McCarthy and I think
a huge part of it has to do with the
makeup of the team.
Speaker 9 (37:18):
That they have right now.
Speaker 5 (37:20):
So does that mean that basically the Pittsburgh Steelers then
have to play the wedding game with Rogers because if
he wants to drag this thing out, I mean, they're
kind of limited with with what their options are. I
guess they could trade for cousins. I guess they could
draft a quarterback if one drops to them. But what
are the stars do in this case? If Rogers wants
to wait this thing out to see how the Voltivis
(37:40):
continue to evaluate them.
Speaker 8 (37:41):
Yeah, yeah, and I think that, like and the problem
with that, Brady, as you know, is like they don't
get on the field and feel may.
Speaker 9 (37:47):
You know, like so I think OTAs I want to.
Speaker 8 (37:51):
I want to say, like usually teams start those and
I don't have the calendar in front of me for
this particular year, but I think it's something like May twentieth.
When most teams start, they're on field stuff like you know,
for the first month of the off season, programs to
strength and conditioning and stuff like that. So, you know,
I like that, Like it is Aaron Rodgers willing to
(38:13):
wait until Memorial Day or until the end of the
off season program for the Vikings to get a full
evaluation or you know, is he gonna.
Speaker 9 (38:22):
Is he going to go in with the Steelers?
Speaker 8 (38:23):
I think he does wind up signing with the Steelers,
you know, And I do think that, you know that,
I think that happens like and again, like Aaron's his
own guy, So this could happen in ten weeks, this
could happen in ten minutes. I don't know, but I
do think that Aaron Rodgers winds up with the Steelers.
But you can see where the idea of the Vikings
would intrigue Rogers, and you know, on the flip side,
(38:46):
you can see why the Vikings might be a little
bit more hesitant on this one versus versus Jones or Donald.
Speaker 9 (38:53):
Where Jones or Donald.
Speaker 8 (38:54):
Like, there's a realistic scenario if you bring either of
those guys that or McCarthy is the starting quarterback on
October first, regardless, right, if you bring Rogers in, that's
that's not happening, you know, like you are you are,
you are you know, pushing McCarthy a year.
Speaker 9 (39:10):
Down the road.
Speaker 8 (39:10):
And obviously that can have different implications.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
Speaking of implications of Aaron Rodgers, obviously the New York
Giants moved off of bringing him in and signed Jamis
Winston and Russell Wilson recently. Well do you think that
does to their draft board?
Speaker 8 (39:28):
Ab I think at the very least, it gives them
the flexibility not to take a quarterback at three and
not force it anywhere in the top one hundred, you know,
essentially look like they'd rather have Aaron Rodgers there. So
don't get me wrong, you know what I mean, Like
that they clearly telegraphed that, and you know, before that,
it was let's get Matthew Stafford here.
Speaker 9 (39:50):
So they were willing to spend the money.
Speaker 8 (39:52):
But you know, in place of having you know, say
a thirty five million dollars contract with Aaron Rodgers, you know,
now you're looking at where for under fifteen million dollars,
they've got two guys on the roster that can start
a game for you tomorrow. They have had a ton
of starting experience in Rogers and Jamis and you have
(40:14):
on top of that five picks in the top one
oh five. So you know, for right now, at least,
it gives them the flexibility not to force the quarterback position.
And you know, I think like where that leaves them is,
you know, right there and play at number three for
Abual Carter or Travis Hunter, And it gives them the
chance to take the best player there. And I think
(40:35):
most people both teams would tell you that. You know,
there's it's those two guys in this year's draft class,
Carter and Hunter, and then there's a draft and then
and then there's a bit of a drop off so
the next group, and the next group is pretty big,
so so yeah, I mean, I think it gives them
the flexibility to just go into the draft and take
the best player, and and you and if you're Brian
(40:56):
Dave all you hope that you know one of the
guys that you have in the rock, sir, right now
is enough to get you at least into the playoff
conversation where you can save your job and maybe address
the quarterback position again.
Speaker 9 (41:09):
In twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Albert Breer joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. AB
is it more, based on people you've talked to, more
likely that Shudor Sanders could end up in Cleveland at
two or Las Vegas at six?
Speaker 9 (41:27):
I would say Cleve.
Speaker 8 (41:28):
I would say Cleveland's more likely based on what I
know about those two teams and where they're at. I
think Vegas takes the best player at six. I think
Cleveland is I think juggling a bunch of different things here. Now,
if you put a gun to my head today today
and ask me who are they going to take it to,
I'd say a duel Carter.
Speaker 9 (41:50):
Now I've said that for a little while.
Speaker 8 (41:52):
I think it makes sense.
Speaker 9 (41:53):
He's a great fit.
Speaker 8 (41:54):
He'd be a great fit for Jim Schwartz's defense there,
and the idea obviously of putting him opposite Miles Garrett Channel.
I think so, you know, I think the the likelihood
is that they wind up drafting Abdual Carter.
Speaker 9 (42:09):
That'd be my guest right now.
Speaker 8 (42:12):
But I think that I don't think Schiduor is a
horrible fit for for Kevin Stefanski whatsoever. I do think
it's something they have considered as it's become less and
less likely that Cam Wore is going to make it
to them and two and so yeah, now we'll see
what happens. And I think the Kirk Cousins thing is
sitting out there for them too, and that Kevin Stansky's
got background of Cousins. He worked with him for two
(42:33):
years in Minnesota, you know, And I think like in
a certain way, and this is sort of an interesting
twist the whole thing. Cousins has told people he's not
going to wave his no trade clause until after the
draft because he doesn't want to be in a situation
like he was last year, where you know, he signed
somewhere or goes somewhere. In this case, he would be
signing somewhere to be trade trade somewhere and then you know,
(42:55):
his new team winds up drafting someone in the top
ten in a way, I think that sort of helps
Cleveland too, where you know, like they can evaluate Shador
and Jackson Dark, Tyler Shuck and Will Howard and all
the different guys in this year's class. Quinnie or is
like and and and and and then revisit Kirk after
(43:18):
after the first night of the draft, you know. And
so I still think there's a possibility that they come
out of draft weekend with both Kirk Cousins and Abdul
Carter and then maybe they take a quarterback somewhere late
later in like the top hundred pets or so.
Speaker 5 (43:32):
I know we're getting uh, there was still ways away
from the draft, but I don't want to get ahead
of ourselves. Is there a team that you'd keep an
eye on that you think is gonna be active in
trying to trade up or being able to make a
trade possible to trade up?
Speaker 8 (43:44):
Yeah, I mean I think like I mean, I like,
if you're talking about like high in the first round Brady,
which is almost always for a quarterback, you know, I
just think like there are a couple of teams that
you know, like that they're always looking and you know,
I think that they have general managers that like have
you know, shown that they're willing to be aggressive in
(44:06):
Seattle and Pittsburgh where it's like, okay, like you know,
like look at how Seattle landed on Russell Wilson in
the first place, you know what I mean, they kept
taking swings and getting the quarterback position right right. Pittsburgh, like,
you know, they they struck out on Kenny Pickett a
couple of years ago, Like do they feel like they've
got to attack this from multiple angles? You know, in
(44:28):
the way that you know, and even if they get
Aaron Rodgers, I mean, people forget like that. You know,
when when the Broncos signed Peyton Manning that same year
they they they drafted brock Ostwiler, When the Bucks signed
Tom Brady that same year, they drafted Kyle Trask, you know, like,
so we've seen this before where you sort of attack
it from both angles, and I could certainly see Pittsburgh
(44:51):
doing something like that. So I don't think it's like
because I just don't think the quarterbacks this year on
the level that we saw, you know, for example, the
quarterbacks last year. You know, but if there was somebody
out of left field, maybe somebody like that would would
would make a short move up if somebody starts.
Speaker 9 (45:06):
Fighting with the HM.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
Was it true that is there any truth to the
fact that New York was trying to get to number
one and Tennessee didn't didn't go for it?
Speaker 3 (45:19):
Did you hear that one?
Speaker 9 (45:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (45:21):
So, like I I would say, like those things have
been explored. I know, the Giants have sort of explored
everything with our here's the Titans approached this whole thing
and this has been their approach, and you know, I.
Speaker 9 (45:34):
Like, I think this goes.
Speaker 8 (45:35):
Back to to to to really the beginning of the process.
As you know, they brought in a new general manager,
Mike Borganti, and he brought guys like Dave Zigler and
Reggie McKenzie with him. The whole idea of for for
them was we control this because we have the first take.
Nobody can get in front of us. So we want
to go through a full process with the four guys
(45:57):
that we look as you know, look at as ayable
options for that first overall pick. Those four guys are
cam mores to do our standards, Abdual Carter and Travis Hunter.
So you know, like there are at the time at
the point now where they're going through the pro day process.
I believe LeVar Penn states prodaate tomorrow, right, it is, yeah, tomorrow,
and then and then Colorado is next week. So they
(46:19):
get past that, they'll do their private workouts and then
you know, okay, Like you know, now, either we've made
the decision on what we're going to do and who
we're going to take and we're not really entertaining main
calls for the first overall pick, or we're open for business,
you know. And that's not just assessing what's available to
them at the first overall tick. It's also looking at okay,
(46:40):
if we went down to two or three and like
cam Wored's off the table for us, then you know,
what are we looking looking at? Like and other options here?
In other words, like do we like you know, abdual
Carter so much that we don't want to drop to
two because we're afraid if we you know, drop to two,
Or we don't want to drop to three because you know,
(47:00):
we're afraid that Abdul Carter will be gone if we
if we go two, you know what I mean? Like,
so if Abuel carll be gone at three? Right?
Speaker 9 (47:07):
Yeah, I took myself up there.
Speaker 8 (47:08):
You know what I'm saying, So they wanted to go
through all that, and that's sort of where they are
right now and just kind of trying to assess all
of that. And I would I would think, you know,
that'll all crystallize for them, you know, probably mid April,
and then they'll make the final decision on whether or
not they're even going to entertain the idea of over
the pick.
Speaker 5 (47:28):
We got like twenty seconds here, sorry to try to
fit this in.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Is it true?
Speaker 5 (47:32):
Cleveland has also called Tennessee to try to trade out
for that number one pick, and then anything to the
Dak Prescott rumor by Bruce Dreadan, a guy who spent
I think five years in federal prison, anything to that.
Speaker 8 (47:46):
I have not addressed the Dak Prescott thing because I
don't know that it can be taken seriously, So.
Speaker 9 (47:52):
I'll just believe that where it is.
Speaker 8 (47:53):
I have not heard anything about Dak Trescott being moved.
Speaker 9 (47:58):
But but but I I.
Speaker 8 (48:00):
Think Cleveland has explored all their options here. So you know, again,
like I think, you know what most teams and I
don't that stuff's going very far yet because you know,
just the Titans have you know, again taken this approach,
like we want all the information on the top guys.
And I know my gut tells me Brady that they're
gonna sit there and take Cambred at number one. But
(48:21):
you know who's just you know, we could get to
the middle of April and they decide the better thing
is to trade down.
Speaker 9 (48:27):
A couple of spots.
Speaker 8 (48:28):
It's just I think you look at like the way
they've operated thus far and again everything that they've done
seems to set up to to draft and support a
working quarterback.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
Get them on x at Albert Breer. We appreciate it
as always. We'll do it again next week. Thanks Aby, Sorry,
