Speaker 1 (00:02):
Is the best of two pros and a couple with
Lamar Rady Win and Jonas Knox on radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
We are now back.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, and happy Happy Mother's Day, by the way, Happy
belated Mother's Days. All the moms out there they give
a chance to Really, I don't think Friday do we
even talk about that?
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Really?
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Really we should have should have Happy blated Mother's Day though.
And also one real quick note, thank you to all
the men out there in their lives to help make
that day possible.
Speaker 5 (00:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
You can't just have one day, can we, Brady?
Speaker 5 (00:42):
I mean you could turn around us on Father's Day.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, but I wouldn't.
Speaker 6 (00:51):
Well, because every holiday is for y'all. I mean, yeah,
it just is what it is. Well, that came across
the tab. It's selfish, you know, I'm just saying, Yeah, anyway,
we not me. That's a philosophy on this show. And uh, we.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Are not all Cleveland Cavalier fans. Brady Quinn is.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
That was a rough one last night.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Oh boy, Yeah, what was it?
Speaker 6 (01:21):
I wish we f eighted uh Brady Quinn last week?
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Damn. Oh It's okay, it's three wounds. Still got time,
Still got time.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
That was a game though, where there's that be of
like an NBA game nowadays, where when it's not even close,
just go in and wave the right flag. But I
stopped the game at halftime. There's no need to play
another half of basketball. I mean, even though I guess
you could say Cleveland cut the depth cit to half
of what it was at half. I just I've never
seen a team get annihilated like that out of the
(01:53):
gate and shoots soap. There were twenty five percent from
the field twenty I'm just put in perspective. Indiana was
shooting sixty seven percent from three, like they couldn't miss.
Cleveland couldn't get a bucket. It was over absolute laid
an egg. And again I do go back to you.
I feel like early in the series series, at times,
(02:14):
you know you'll see some teams just kind of come
out flat. I don't know if that's the way to describe.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
It, but they weren't ready for the moment. That was
one of the worst performances they've had all year.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Now. That was bad, and losing Donovan Mitchell to warm
up second half doesn't help your cause. And I don't
know how long he's going to be out for. But
that definitely doesn't bote well to what I already you know,
boldly predicted it was over anyway after that demoralizing loss
(02:48):
that they had the other night. But this one, I
don't know. Was this a white flag waved game? Before
the game? Even that going.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Right?
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (03:01):
When you get injured, when you get injured in warm
ups before the second half, Like that's that's just Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
Like nowhere else but Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Does that sort of thing happen where your best player,
arguably your best player.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Gets injured in warm ups heading in the second half.
Not saying there's much of a shot given the score differential,
but still that's such a Cleveland thing to happen.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
I mean, this one could have been more demoralizing, just
in terms of the way they were dominated in the
game by the Pacers. But I feel like, I don't know,
did they come out with a little bit of fight.
Didn't look like it. It just it just looked like they
were out of sync. It looked like it like as
you mentioned, they had poor shot selections. I mean, this whole,
(03:48):
this whole three point phenomenon, if that's what people want
to call it, I may call it like a three
point a demic type of deal, because I mean, at
some point, you do have to play basketball, and you
may get tired running up and down the court and
stuff like that, and you're chucking up threes all the time,
(04:09):
and where's the basketball anymore? Like every once in a
while you see guys slash to the hole and make
layups or make mid range jump shots. It's like that
is such a it's such a relief for me to
see basketball players go to the rim or actually dunk
(04:32):
the ball. At times, I don't know, man, it's like
live out of three, die out of three. And none
of the teams shot well yesterday, by the way, I
mean the thunder Nuggets game, they didn't shoot well either
that you know, the Nuggets missed critical free throws down
the stretch of the game. I mean, I don't know, man.
(04:53):
The three pointer is like, Okay, it's exciting to see
people shoot it up and it go in and stuff
like that. But when you're not making threes, play basketball, man,
you know, pick and rolls, you know, go to the rack,
you know, I mean, just go figure. You know, every
point doesn't have to be from beyond the three point length.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
I will give Kenny Atkinson credit the Cavaliers head coach
even afterwards, really upbeat, really optimistic. Hey, coach, what's the
deal with Donovan Mitchell's injury?
Speaker 5 (05:23):
Left ankle? Left ankle injury. He'll get an MRI tomorrow,
no idea.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
I mean, you know obviously couldn't go in the second half.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
So what d MRI.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Says, Thanks coach, Real upbeat, real positive, positive vibes there
in Cleveland.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
And you know what, can I also say this?
Speaker 5 (05:45):
What do you want them to do?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
His best player gets gets hurt in warm ups before
the second half?
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Mind, either're done forty at.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Half times, because my whole thing is at that point,
with a game like that, why should he have to talk?
What is there to say? They just got annihilated. He's
got no answers, clearly in that moment, because they were
losing by almost sixty at certain points it seemed like
and he's looking around going, look, man, Garland's banged up.
(06:18):
Now we got Mitchell who's banged up. It feels like
the writing's on the wall. And then you got to
send us out there in those in those awful unis,
those awful jerseys they're wearing. It's it's it's terrible and
it's an awful thing that happened to Cleveland last night.
Got exposed and didn't even look good while they were
getting exposed.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Sober Man so not willing to give up yet.
Speaker 6 (06:42):
And we have seen you don't have to give up.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
We've seen a comeback from three to one.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
You could go out kicking and screaming, or you could
go out.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
With your head.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
But joh going home. It might be this next game, it.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Might be that I took him Lebron James. But we've
seen it before.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
That is true, that's not that's not going to happen
in this situation. Kidding, It's never going to happen. Lorena.
Here's my pick. The Cleveland Cavaliers are through.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
Sticks picks.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
There you go, They're done. Now here's the one that
I'm not certain of. I can't get a real legit
read on the thunder Nuggets series.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
I can't get it.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
I'm the same way I can't. I don't. It's like
one game, it's like Yep, it's going to be Denver,
it's going to be the the experience, it's going to
be them boom. Then the next game it's like dang.
The thunder. Look good, Nope, it's going to be the thunder.
Then you go to the next game. Nope, there ain't
gonna be the thunder. It's going to be the Nuggets.
Like they're at two to two yesterday, it didn't look
(07:58):
like the Nuggets had an enough gas in the tank.
They didn't, you know, obviously Jokic does what is it? Jokic?
Why do I always mess up these guys' name? It's
it's what is it?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Nicole? Nicola? Is that right? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (08:14):
Yeah, Nicholas?
Speaker 5 (08:17):
You don't know.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
I don't know. I always mix him up with uh
with the player for the Lakers, if you want to
just call him white guy. They're both white guys though,
That's why I'm probably clearly mixing them up. Anyway. Nicola
had his points, he had his game, But I mean,
do we feel as though it was impressive? Like is
(08:42):
there is there a point where you look at a
stat line total and the production and you say, well,
the production of it on paper looks good, but it
really didn't really didn't play into them really winning the game. Like,
I don't know, I feel like for all the points
(09:03):
that he got, twenty seven points is a lot of
points but I feel like Hartenstein and and the other
the other tall dude. What's the other tall dude's name?
Why am I blanking on his name? Yeah, home Grid.
I think they're doing I think they're doing as good
a job on on on Jokic as he is an
all guy or hands and hey, hey, and he happened
(09:28):
home Gridd happens to be a white dude too. Anyway,
I think they're doing a good job on on uh
on Jokic, I really do. And I think that that's
actually the difference outside of them missing their their free
throws down down the stretch run. I think that that
has been the difference for OKC outside of all of
(09:52):
the you know, the obvious things that that they've done offensively.
But I think that's been the difference, is them doubling
up on Jokic and them not. I just don't feel
like they had enough gas in the tank last night
to be able to win that game.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Denver's coach David Adaman he was talking afterwards because he
was asked about potentially fatigue having an impact on that
game last night, and had this to.
Speaker 7 (10:18):
Say, I'm not going to say that, you know, I
don't want to say that. I will say that I
think both teams were very tired coming off an unbelievably
physical overtime battle on a late Friday night. So if
I if it affected us, it sure surely affected them
as well. I mean, both of us had super tired legs.
So it was about who's going to make that final run.
(10:40):
And we got up eight. I thought we were making
the push, and to their credit, you know, they were
the ones to make the final run, and we made
mistakes late. We can call them mental mistakes, physical, whatever
it was. We didn't play well enough the last six
minutes to win a playoff.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Game, a game in Denver. They should have the advantage
right down the stretch with the altitude and all that,
sure to do it. But like people are like, well,
you know what about the schedule, dude, You're not playing
back to back days like it's every other day and
as it should be. Like so the regular season, there
was the issue at the schedule, and now people are
(11:13):
trying to bring up, well, maybe we got a space.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
He's out.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Even I like the fact that we're going one day
off and then you play a game.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Just continue.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
I understand though, the point because it doesn't feel like
they really got that day off. Especially when you play
a late game that Friday night and then you're hit
with an early game Sunday, it doesn't really feel like
you get that off day the day, the day prior.
You know, everything kind of jumps you a little bit quicker.
If it was a night game, that'd be one thing,
but it wasn't. I mean that that does make a
(11:40):
big difference. You know, there's teams in the NFL to
play that late game on Sunday, I have to turn
right back around play Thursday. And that's a tough challenge,
you know, and so you just you don't get into
your normal rhythm of recovery and all that. And during
the regular season it's different because you've got to play
eighty two games, so you have to get them all in.
This is it's for it all a sudden dest scenario
(12:01):
that like, I don't think you really needed to play that.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Game as early as you did yesterday.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Like I've actually been a little bit baffled with some
of the TV scheduling this particular time of year. And
I'm not sure why I didn't notice this earlier, but like,
are people watching during Mother's Day?
Speaker 5 (12:20):
NBA games.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Like if you went out into a nice brunch or
a lunch celebrating your mom or celebrating that woman in
your life, you have the NBA on while you were
doing that. My guess is probably not I I hope not.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
I was watching, But it's my job. I don't know
that I would have been watching if it was wasn't
my job to watch it.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Run your point, but I'm talking about the mass not
like us by I'm time.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
I'm more like the masses of Peo.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
I think it makes it even more damning that it's
my job and I didn't even want to watch it,
you know.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
I mean, I'm just saying, Oh, I'm not saying that
people don't don't want to watch it. I'm just saying,
for whatever reason, putting that game on when they did,
I mean, that's going to give you the biggest ratings
at that point in time in the day. Did I
miss like where whatever else like they could have scheduled
last night. I mean, I know they're trying to juggle
(13:16):
it between like hockey and basketball and everything else.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
I just I don't know. I was really disappointed with
what they scheduled stuff.
Speaker 6 (13:23):
It was a pretty decent gap in between the games,
don't you think, Like, what was it like an hour
or two before between.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yeah, it was an eight Eastern time tip for Cleveland Indiana.
I looked, you know, no offense to Cleveland Indiana, But
I would rather have seen the other game in prime time.
I'd rather have seen that play out and we could
kind of, you know, get the blowout out of the
way and then have something to look forward to later
on at night.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
So let's sit in the obvious after the fact. But
are you singing in general you'd rather sing those two
teams playoff.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
I think it's a better matchup. Okay, Cleveland's just banged up. Man,
it's not the same team. Like, it's not that that
team was the best team in the East by a mile,
and it is not the same team. They're limping to
the finish line, and and now with Mitchell out and
the fact they're going to have to give an m R.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I and I think, you know, I mean, they had
guys back.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
He's got he's got this toe issue. Garland does that.
Apparently he's just not the same player like the other
night he went down like just like yeah, I don't
know if his toes like the coming off his body
or what. But he's got this issue that's happening.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
That's what they call it.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
That's disgusting, I will say. And back to the game
that that really mattered in the series. That matters because
that that Cleveland one is over, that thunder Nuggets game.
I think it's interesting.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
You didn't grow up with a basketball team in Pittsburgh.
I get it.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
You know, no animosity? Yeah, just stank right now?
Speaker 5 (14:55):
I mean a team at all?
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Who is our basketball the Bulls?
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Who was your basketball?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Bull Give me a break. You can't be a Bulls fan?
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Why can't I be a Bulls fan? There's nobody?
Speaker 5 (15:09):
Because your state, at least you have the seventy six
ers in Pennsylvania.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
I get to choose what team I want to cheer for.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Yeah, when you don't have a team present, when you
don't have a team in your life, you.
Speaker 6 (15:21):
Get You're right, you get the Pittsburgh still choose the
Pittsburgh Mowlers, the Pittsburgh Spirit, our soccer team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, anything,
the Pirates, all Pittsburgh teams or my team's growing up, NBA.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
You did not have it.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
I'm not Why would I we don't even like the
eastern side of the state. I didn't even like the
eastern side of the state until I went to penn State. Like,
we don't claim Philadelphia that you know how that'd be?
Speaker 5 (15:48):
Like, No, it's a great question.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Like people from Cincinnati, you don't have a basketball team,
do you root for the Calves.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
Because don't know. I don't know the dynamic of Ohio.
I will say that and understand dynamic.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
But Pennsylvania is divided by east and west. Yes, by
north and south.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
There you go. It's not that different. It's the exact same.
It's just what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
Is Philadelphia and Pittsburgh we are. We are day and
night different.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
That's a Dayland and Cincinnati people will tell you that too.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
So you think they do? You think they chair for Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
I never actually posed the question ever before my life
to think about that, so I don't think they do.
I think I.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
Would never choose growing up, I would have never chosen
a Philadelphia team, not the Eagles. In fact, I wanted
to beat the Eagles every time we played on the
worst in the worst way. Wanted to beat the freaking
Phillies in the worst way. Wanted to beat the Flyers
in the worst way because we claim to be the
(16:58):
winning side of the state. Now they gotten a Super
Bowl since in more recent times, they've been good in baseball,
and more recent times they've been decentoball it better than
the Pirates. They they've been good and and pretty like
decent in basketball. Yeah right, yeah, but we don't have
(17:21):
a basketball team, so it doesn't matter that that they
are good in basketball. But we would never I would
never claim a Philly team growing up in Pittsburgh would
I would never. That would never happen. Anyway, back to
the original point, I was a Bulls fan because well
they were always on. They were always on, The Lakers
were always on and the Celtics were always on when
(17:42):
I was growing up, and clearly I was. I was
a big time. It was a big time Michael Jordan fan.
I mean, go figure, sorry, shoes and everything.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
Has just picked all front runners. That's why he likes Celtics. Yeah,
I mean Pittsburgh the Celtics, Like.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
Come on, dude, like the Bears.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
If you're just all in the what do you want
me to do? Just just ball wash the entire state
of California.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Some of us are real fans. Some of us like
follow a team despite them winning, Like some of us
are real fans about it, even with the heart break.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Still where you live, bro, Like, you are supposed to
support the team where you live. I don't live in Cleveland,
right see, But if you don't, if you don't live there,
then if you don't have a team where you reside,
you get to choose. That's just how you work. That's
close enough for it. It's like, it's not that well,
(18:35):
I don't know. Again, if I lived in Central Pennsylvania,
that's different.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
I can choose.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
That's either way.
Speaker 5 (18:42):
Where I grew up, Okay, Central Ohio.
Speaker 6 (18:44):
Okay, then that you can go either way. I grew up.
You're on the side. You got to choose a side,
like you can't. You can't be in Pittsburgh cheering for
Philly teams. You can't do it. I grew up. That's blasphemous.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
I grew up with Celtics fans. My dad was a
Celtics fan. They were the only team he lives. He
could listen to on the radio, and so that's why
he rooted for that.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
I'm this, you could listen to it at radio.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
I'm saying my dad, not me, my dad growing.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
Up, but when he would drive his Model.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
Tea sitting around the road the radio listening to the game,
like like just some old so so so as I
was saying before I was interrupted again, so I was.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
I was also there was I was a Cubs fan
because my dad grew up in Illinois. We had family
out there. You could be a White Sox fan or
a Cubs fan. They chose the Cubs, and the Bears
came along with it, and then the Penguin.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
The Cowboys because that's from That's where Whyarp is from, right,
and he fought the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I'll be honest, the Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
The Penguins fandom.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
I just kind of started getting into hockey and I
liked the logo and I was like, oh, that's pretty cool.
But nobody was really a big hockey fan of my family.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
And they like the original Penguin, like the older one.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
No no, no, no, the early door one, like early nineties,
like ninety three ish. It was right after their Stanley Cups.
Go figure, all right, now, I have to tell you
this is just like I open up the sports menu
and it was like, you know what, I don't have
to eat off that page. I'll go, I'll go look
around a little bit. I don't have to pick local
(20:22):
California teams, so I chose differently. No, we do what
we do.
Speaker 6 (20:28):
I'm not judging you, but I'm just saying you should
choose where you're from and if you're not, if you
don't have one where you're from, then you get to
choose who you want. Like that's I feel like that's fair.
That's a fair deal. I didn't grow up with a
basketball team. I mean so, I mean I had to
cheer for somebody.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Like you know, the people that got a real rough
for like people in Buffalo. Like there's probably people in
Buffalo that are Blue Jays fans. Like there's probably people
in Buffalo. You're so close to the ball.
Speaker 6 (20:57):
They don't have a basketball team either, do they do?
They claim the Grizzlies? Do they do? They claim the Raptors?
Speaker 5 (21:04):
They like?
Speaker 6 (21:04):
Do they go? So you got to cross the border.
You got across the border to go chair for your
home team, Like you.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
Gotta pay the tariff.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
That's how committed I am.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Yeah, all right, just say the something to it.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Be sure to catch live editions of two pros and
a cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six a m. Eastern three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
They call me white Beard the Viking, you know, the
Black Viking.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
With white I watched it yesterday, dude.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
Yeah, how'd you like it?
Speaker 4 (21:42):
I slept your all of it?
Speaker 6 (21:43):
Oh, well, there you go.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
No, it was good.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
You're a sucker.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
There's a reason for that too, if that was the case.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
And it wasn't the movie, by the way, as part
part of the reason.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Okay, I don't like it.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
It's a good movie, man, it was good.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I know that Lee got lit up this weekend.
Speaker 6 (22:05):
I know it. I can tell. How can you tell that?
Speaker 2 (22:10):
You just tell he went through it this weekend.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
He went through it this weekend.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:19):
Do you ever have argain where you get banged up?
Speaker 2 (22:22):
I haven't drank.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yeah, okay, LeVar, do you want to know how he knows?
And you can tell, but you don't walk into the
Google doc. If you could, you would see whenever there's
panic and Lee has like like sixty updates because he's
trying to figure something out on Google doc.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
You know, he got after it and he's having a
rough Monday morning trying to figure this a way.
Speaker 8 (22:43):
Well, hold on, yes, but also I hit some F
button F twelve or something, and now it's like everything
I have to do gets.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (22:53):
I don't know how to explain it, but I need
to like approve every edit I make on the Google
Google doc.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
It's actually funny.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
You probably drunkenly put something in there to safeguard if
you made a change while drunk, and then once you
sobered up, it like then allows you bick.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
Do you really want to make this change? Lee? Do
you do?
Speaker 3 (23:13):
You?
Speaker 5 (23:13):
Lee? A few times?
Speaker 6 (23:15):
How many updates did he make?
Speaker 3 (23:18):
I got an email with about six or seven updates
and I was like, what is happening right now?
Speaker 6 (23:24):
Yeah? I don't see all of that.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
So the glorious part is you can actually go through
the history of the document and see like different variations
of it.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
So I could see like where Lee was like couldn't
spell something for going on.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
It's great.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here
on Fox Sports Radio, lebar Arrington, Brady, Quinn, Jonas Knox
with you, and we are going to take you all
the way up until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Spacific.
Speaker 6 (23:50):
Now.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Normally to end hour one of the program, we do
in Case you missed It, starring Lee to lap right now,
though we are going to implement that here at the
top of the hour because we did not have time
last hour.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
So let's get to it.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment. Good thing, the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
It, and for that we turn it over to our
executive producer, Lee.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Du lap Oh.
Speaker 8 (24:20):
Good morning, everybody, picture incoming, Good morning Jonas, Good morning Brady,
Good morning LeVar. Guys in casey miss it. Tough week
for the Belichick clan. Of course, we all know about
his twenty four year old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson. She was
in the Miss Main beauty pageant this weekend. She had
been runner up last year. Unfortunately she fell one behind.
(24:44):
She fell in third place this week, which is nothing
to be ashamed of. But this is how the voting
turned out, just so you know, just so you know
how this goes, you could actually vote for contestants online
for a dollar apiece. First place went to Lexi Byork,
who got thirteen hundred and eighty one votes.
Speaker 6 (25:00):
So really this is just a money grab. Yeah, really
like a real thing. It's a money grab. But go ahead,
yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 8 (25:07):
Well, Jordan Hudson did finish only with one hundred and
forty six votes to go third. Second place went to
a transgender contestant, Isabelle Saint Cyr, with four hundred and
forty seven votes.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
And and that was important to include transgender huh.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Well that's you know, I'm just reading the report here
from the.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
I'm saying it was important for them to include transgender.
Speaker 8 (25:28):
And about time, I'm just yeah, so I think it
was important.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
Held, can I asked it? Controversial questions?
Speaker 6 (25:34):
About time? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (25:37):
I mean, what's the competition called Miss Maine?
Speaker 6 (25:41):
Yes, yeah, not miss man, miss miss man? Miss you
did so you did?
Speaker 5 (25:47):
Wait?
Speaker 6 (25:49):
Yeah, definitely right now.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
If not everyone would call them miss Maine? Like is
it controversial?
Speaker 6 (25:56):
Win?
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Like, how do you go about or how does that work?
Speaker 6 (26:00):
M Well, she's now a miss That's how I guess
it works. But also, was there a swimsuit contest Jordan
lost to to what was formerly a man? That's what
would hurt me a little bit more than just coming
in third is that I lost?
Speaker 5 (26:20):
I mean, I'm just saying, isn't part of it a
swimsuit contest? Do you have any evidence of that?
Speaker 4 (26:26):
I am efforting?
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Hey, Lee, who did you say?
Speaker 6 (26:30):
One? Come out?
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Alexiuh?
Speaker 6 (26:35):
Lexi Byork?
Speaker 2 (26:37):
I was gonna say not Shelby Howell.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
I'm seeing Lexi Byork with thirteen hundred eighty one votes.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
But Shelby Howell, Yeah, named miss Maine USA.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
Maybe that's what's coming up the old Google machine. Lee,
how banged up?
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Were you?
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Was she even transgenderly?
Speaker 6 (26:58):
But Daily Mail?
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Don't I think you're blaming the Daily Mail for you
read the article?
Speaker 2 (27:07):
I mean a Lee, you confuse your dating preferences on
your aft to the miss mat.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
Miss man was standing over top of you.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Lee radulates the second place Todd.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
Good?
Speaker 6 (27:24):
Which bath of the way did Todd go through? I'm
really going to do this?
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Oh he sure did?
Speaker 3 (27:30):
I feel like the girl who won m Shelby Howell.
Girl is like the blonde version of Jordan Hudson. Yeah,
tell me if you see that? Yeah I do.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
It's like, sure the same girl's blonde hair.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
Well you're seeing the same thing, right, She's for sure?
Speaker 4 (27:45):
She I don't know what yeah, I am seeing Shelby
as well.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
Hey, what do you mean, he said, Lexi more?
Speaker 8 (27:51):
You see the report I printed out? Yeah, they say
Lexi York with thirteen hundred eighty one.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Okay, what what was there even a transgender in the run?
Speaker 6 (28:00):
Yes, I am seeing Are you looking at you?
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Are you looking at are you looking at bumble again?
Speaker 6 (28:05):
Are you looking at back to last night?
Speaker 5 (28:07):
What's happening?
Speaker 4 (28:09):
I'm just reading what's off the clamor?
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Did you get this weekend?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Saturday was good?
Speaker 6 (28:19):
I don't remember Sunday too much.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
No, Sunday was Sunday was calm, nice, calm Sunday. I
was at the pool all weekend.
Speaker 6 (28:28):
I mean, hey, look, I'll tell you.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
F S R I R later.
Speaker 6 (28:34):
All right, so listen. So that is the update? Wait?
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Where is this coming from? Shelby Howe? Congratulations? Jordan Hudson
finished third and a transgender may or may not have
finished second. That's what we got here, either that or.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
Or or Lee.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
I was looking for the results on his bumble.
Speaker 8 (28:53):
I see you're standing there with Shelby how Yeah, there
she is, Shelby. How is the trans No, it's the winner.
Who's the transgender? What's what's their name, said Isabelle Saint cyr.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
M. Interesting. All right, yeah, oh whoa, whoa.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
That's a good looking lady. No, no, that's Shelby.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Yeah, oh.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
All right, what else we got lady?
Speaker 6 (29:27):
Right? All right, guys, that got awkward.
Speaker 8 (29:31):
In case you missed this, uh, kind of an old story,
but just servicing Pro Bowl offensive lineman for the Packers,
Elchin Jenkins uh reportedly got into a scuffle at the
King of Diamonds strip club in Atlanta earlier this month.
Him and his buddies got there, uh late in the evening,
around eleven thirty pm. But we're disappointed with the quote
(29:53):
unquote lack of action, feeling it was somewhat dead, therefore
asking for a refund and then getting into a little
bit of a scuffle slash quarrel with the club staff.
Speaker 6 (30:03):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (30:03):
Police were called and ended the uh the supposed quarrel.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
No arrests were made.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
And this is the King of Diamonds in Atlanta, that
is correct. Interesting, It's weird that there'd be an.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
So would you would you ever ask for your money back?
Speaker 8 (30:19):
For you know, if you get into a club and
just nothing's happening yet.
Speaker 6 (30:24):
Maybe you're early in the evening. Who depends depends if
you did a minimum and you had already like, you know,
put which I don't really know all of the details
about all stuff like this. I'm just saying if you
were someone who were doing uh a, you know, kind
of a VIP type of setup, and you did the
(30:44):
minimum and you put your card down on it, and
they held a certain amount of the money, and you
went in there and you were like, yeah, this isn't
what we were expecting. We want to go and they're like, well,
you know, you have your minimum and they already have
your card and information. Then that could be a sticky
situation like that. I wouldn't just walk away from a
(31:07):
minimum if they were charging me a minimum, if I
were per se to be the one that went into
a place like that.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
You know what I appreciate about this kod Or King
of Diamonds Atlanta is they think about everyone involved here,
Like they even have a brunch coming up on September first.
Speaker 6 (31:25):
Nice. I believe it's a.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
Kisha cole brunch.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
A nice.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
So yeah, my guess is they had live entertainment. They
must had something on Mother's Day too, probably.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Strippers of people too.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
I mean that is true.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I'm not saying they're not. I'm just I'm just saying
it's interesting to get the whole family involved.
Speaker 6 (31:44):
Well, I'm saying are they Are they live entertaining during
the brunch or Yeah? As being you, I don't.
Speaker 5 (31:50):
Think it's just food hall. I think there's still some
entertainment going on.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
It looks like every Sunday. By the way, you can
get my least favorite meal brunch. There ten dollars limited
crab legs. And by the way, I said ten dollars
unlimited crab leg crabs, So right, you can get I.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
Bet you can get crab and got no meat in them.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
You doing all.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
Kinds of let's just let's just make sure you don't
take the crabs home with you.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Yeah, well it's a different ones. Those are the many
cousins of the blue Crab that you're speaking all those
costers like these ones they're talking about a little different,
you know.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Yeah, the menu's not bad though, Bruh.
Speaker 6 (32:32):
Those places be having the bomb as chefs man, No,
yes they do. Are you talking about.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
You think Emerald Emeralds counter, Hey, guys, Bobby, Bobby.
Speaker 6 (32:49):
The Michelin tires beyond some of these joints that you'd
be going to before you go to just throw.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
One tires with some white walls. I don't know what
we talking about.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Hey guy, what do you know what a prime rim?
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Come?
Speaker 6 (33:00):
Look at arass the professional jonas. That's that's that's not
how it works. I mean, this is what I've been told.
I've heard that that they have really good fine dinings.
Speaker 5 (33:11):
And look up, see how many of it on iron Chef.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Recently the Golden Lobster rolls one hundred dollars at this place.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
There you go, one hundred dollars. I wonder why it's
golden gold foil. Oh okay, all right, this is making
sure lee what else we got?
Speaker 8 (33:36):
Guys, in case you missed this, and I know I
was trying to get you in on this. Last week
was the SEC Softball UH Tournament.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
And and we're all in on that.
Speaker 8 (33:45):
Well, it came down to Oklahoma versus Texas A and
m Well. SEC decided to declare them both co champions
of the SEC Softball Tournament after the championship game was
canceled due to inclement weather at game time and predicted
for the remainder of the day.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
They were both.
Speaker 6 (34:01):
Had you got to play the game.
Speaker 8 (34:03):
Yeah, well, they both had charters scheduled for later in
the day, so they decided to just let them all
go home. Oklahoma will serve as the conference's automatic qualifier
to the NCAA tournament.
Speaker 6 (34:14):
What co champions You gotta play the game? Remember when
college football had played a game? Was it was it?
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Miami and Washington were co champions that one year?
Speaker 6 (34:24):
Was it ninety one?
Speaker 3 (34:25):
How many teams get into the Softball World Series or
whatever it is?
Speaker 5 (34:31):
Lee, You don't know this. You read the story, you.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Know, well, this was for the SEC championship, specifically.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
For the right, but it's for the automatic bid into
the for the national championship.
Speaker 8 (34:39):
Right, That wasn't part of the story. But I'm looking
into that as we speak.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
I know, I know eight teams made it from the
Big Ten, which is sixty pretty significant.
Speaker 6 (34:48):
Sixteen No wait, hold on eighteen.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Yeah, well, just so you know, the like lacrosse is
only sixteen, so it could be sixteen.
Speaker 6 (34:58):
Sixty sixty eight, Dad Dangle.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Well that's what it said.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
I'm sorry weird to say that.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
That was that was part of the transgender speech.
Speaker 6 (35:08):
I was looking still, I.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Was looking into or I was reading all you go.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Would you be ok lexie or athlete justice leading in
the softball championship? Would you be okay with that? I
wouldn't be okay with I know when we there was
a transgender athlete competing in the NCAA volleyball tournament, I
was not okay with it. I'm not okay with that.
Just just saying. I mean not to turn it serious,
(35:34):
but I'm just saying I don't want somebody who was
formerly a man like spiking the ball on my daughter
who was, you know, formerly a woman and still I
thought he was.
Speaker 5 (35:47):
Security is why does it matter to you? League? None
of these girls fit your profile? True?
Speaker 8 (35:55):
I do see a sixty fourteen field that whittles down
to sixteen regional, eight super regional, eight teams competing in.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
Four Yeah, when it's probably a sixty.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
When it's the World Series, it's eight teams competing.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
Eight of sixty four. Still pretty good, okay.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
I meant all right, I feel like we've done it here.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
We have done it. Lee.
Speaker 8 (36:22):
I gotta tell you, man, hey, we should we should
do a long version of the case.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Miss it every day.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
You shouldn't have that much.
Speaker 8 (36:29):
Materially, there's a reason we condensed this to two minutes
every day.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
You know you gave out the wrong winner.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
How did you get I found the original article.
Speaker 8 (36:42):
They still have Lexi Buorick as the winner, who I've
looked into and she's very deserving.
Speaker 6 (36:47):
I don't know what happened.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Oh I put one dollar down.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
So that you voted for Lee?
Speaker 6 (36:54):
No, I mean, isn't just an indictment against Bill Belichick?
I mean, shouldn't he have invested enough for herd Wayne
far In Away.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
You really want me to go in the rabbit hole
here is like, please go where does.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
If you're third place in Maine? Like, what does that rank?
Let's say you go to a different state. Oh yeah,
you know what I'm saying, Like go to New York,
go to California, Texas, Florida, Like.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Yeah, yeah, is that n A?
Speaker 6 (37:17):
Is that n A?
Speaker 2 (37:18):
I A.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
That's what I'm saying. It's like there there could be
you know, it could be some trouble there. I'm saying, Yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
Had to crossvices to get to you get a second
round out that that top three? I mean, yeah, like
what is what is that? You don't have enough? Good
look at women? Y'all had to go, y'all had to
go cross lines.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
Like someone'd say cross streams.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Yes, all right, hey we need we need tend to compete.
Everybody got long hair, you'll do.
Speaker 6 (37:48):
You get in there, you'll do.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Is this more of an indictment on Maine or Jordan
Hudson or like who who?
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Is this more of an indictment on I.
Speaker 6 (37:56):
Mean, she entered the competition. I think the minute she entered,
that's an indictment on her. I mean, you got bigger
fish to fry at this point.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
I mean we should give an update.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Clario to have not heard Jonas, do you want to
give an update as to the current situation of Jorge
Hudson at the University of North Carolina.
Speaker 6 (38:12):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
She's not banned from the facility as reported that was
reported before the weekend from Pablo Torre that she had
been banned from the facility there in North Carolina came
out with a statement saying, no, she's welcome here.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
She's not banned.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
So that's where we don't work here. We don't have
her on staff, but she is welcome in the facility.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Like, Okay, I've never seen a story get so much
run from people who like there's people that Florio's got
an update daily about it.
Speaker 6 (38:46):
Like daily, that's weird if you ask me, man who.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Like who cared?
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Just move on?
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Like I'm I want to know what it's going to
look like when he's coaching at the college level.
Speaker 6 (38:56):
That's what I want to know. I want to let me.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
Let me play the other side of this, because I
was talking to a buddy who's a big Boston sports
talk radio fan, and there's guys who are invested there
because they feel like it's about the legacy of Bill Belichick,
and then it's about how it impacts his family. And
there's more drama to this than many people realize, which
is kind of interesting. Like we talked about the phil Simms,
(39:19):
you know, number retirement and retiring it for Abdul Carter,
and this somewhat falls in that category of Well, Bill
Belichick obviously is living his best life. We're not judging
him for that. However, we're not his family. And like
my thing is always.
Speaker 5 (39:37):
People will always say like, oh, don't be judge, but
you can't judge people. It's like, well, if you're close,
like you have family members or you have friends, who
want you to hold them accountable. I don't they kind
of asking you to judge them.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
A little bit for how them could like the things
they're doing and how they're conducting themselves.
Speaker 5 (39:52):
Like otherwise, how can you hold them accountable? Like if
someone says to you.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Like, this is what I'm all about, this is what
I want to accomplish, this is what I want to do.
When they start doing things that aren't going in that direction,
do you not judge them and call them out and say, hey, dude,
like you said this, but you're not your actions aren't
doing this. And the only reason I bring that up
is because I do think there's probably some family drama.
There's probably some thought to how this will impact his legacy.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
I personally don't think.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
It will, Like this becomes one of those stories that
I don't know how many people remember it besides those
who kind of lived during that era to hear it.
Most people when they think of like the greatest of
all time, which Bill Belichick, is that, or at least
in my opinion, is that most people only remember that.
They don't remember like all of the other stuff that
(40:38):
was off the field, And there's countless other players that
you don't remember about some of their past discretions, you know,
So I just I look at it from that perspective
and think there is definitely a juicy, drama filled story here.
Speaker 5 (40:54):
I just don't care for it. You know.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
If you want to have that conversation about his personal life,
that's on you, but that's not for me.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Respect him more now, Like in fact, I don't even
think about Spygate anymore. Any of the allegations against the
Patriots organization all all forgot.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
Maybe maybe Spigy was misdirected, you know, maybe now looking
back on it, it was really just he was the
modern day version of the pervert.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
At the beach with binocular.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Maybe the entire operation was just to try to find
some Jordan Hudson's stands by the way.
Speaker 6 (41:25):
I mean, And he did catch her. He caught her
off of the pair, right, there's evidence of it. There's
visual evidence he caught her.
Speaker 5 (41:35):
What's amazing about this?
Speaker 3 (41:38):
People people were too young now, they don't remember when
you'd see those dudes, you know, perverts at the beach
with binoculars, like what are you looking for?
Speaker 5 (41:49):
Bird?
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Remember remember that it's like whale watching? Oh yeah, yeah,
they're right over there.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
And nowadays everyone's got a phone so they can zoom
in or do what ever. I mean, I've got some
some buddies who like, trust me, they're always trying to
take a photo of that incumbent incorporates something in the background.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Binoculars really were Yeah, if you were to go like that,
the thing per capping, how many perverts binoculars?
Speaker 6 (42:16):
It's like, oh man, I.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
Can also they weren't hiding them. They were the small
ones that used to see.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
They're like the big, gigantic ones that looks like they
could honestly look into the solar system.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
Yeah, areola from like a mile?
Speaker 6 (42:33):
Oh yeah, I'm god dang party socks with open toed.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
Tivas? Is that what they call it? Tivas?
Speaker 6 (42:41):
Oh my gosh, come on, little bit there he is.
There's one right there that's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. Man, Like, I'm laughing so hard
my back hurts. It's crazy, is that right?
Speaker 5 (42:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Crazy.
Speaker 5 (43:02):
I'm just trying to traw this out a little bit
a lot more time.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
It's killing me.
Speaker 5 (43:07):
Yeah, well, you know what you can do to deal
with that?
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Back paynes. I've dealt with it myself. Jonas, you need
to find the right mattress because it makes a difference.
Mattress firms sleep experts will help you find the perfect
bed for your unique needs. That's why, Jonas, your unique

Speaker 5 (43:23):

Speaker 6 (43:25):
Bad Night, or just hit up the uh you know
the runner up to Miss may Oh pick to that
back problem Real easy.
Speaker 5 (43:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
We start off our three of the program with a
little bit of breaking news from the NFL.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Breaking news from Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
The schedule release is happening this week and they are
releasing bits and pieces of the schedule before Wednesday when
they'll release the full schedule. And one of those bits
and pieces they just announced courtesy of the NFL on
X that week one the opener. The Philadelphia Eagles will
(44:19):
host the Dallas Cowboys to start the season. So it'll
be let's go Cowboys Eagles to open up your twenty
twenty five season. There, and I'm currently efforting to see
if I can get a line on that courtesy of
our friends at DraftKings, because Philadelphia should annihilate them. That
(44:40):
should be a total wipeout.
Speaker 6 (44:42):
So we're not gonna have to wait there got George
Pickens now, man, you know they got Dak Prescott coming back.
You know they got cdee lamb. They're going to have
a HAPPI paid, new, new, well paid defensive player in
Michael Parsons. Yeah, Brian Schottenheimer's coaching, he's going to have
all of their lockers reordered. And which, by the way,
(45:05):
that got a lot of run. I mean a lot
of people were really upset with me. Apparently I'm a
horrible person for saying that veterans having a locker room
or their own locker and maintaining their locker is a
horrible thing. But hey, you know it's messed up. I've
been called worse based off of worse things, you know
before they came at you for that. Oh my god, No,
(45:28):
I don't get it. Yeah, I don't get It's unfortunate,
but you know what, they will be a better team
this year. I'm garing. No, I'm not. I'm joking.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
That was a joke, So it is going to be
So Cowboys Eagles will be the game on Thursday night.
Reportedly the Brazil game is going to be the Chargers
and the Chiefs on the Friday night, so they're not
waiting around like we're gonna go division on division to
start out the the first couple of games of the
(45:57):
NFL season. So that's the uh, away we go and
and away we go for the Dallas Cowboys coverage to
start out the year. So we're gonna get that to
open up the NFL season. So again, that's the the news,
the schedule release. They'll release bits and pieces of this
throughout the course of the week, and Cowboys Eagles to
(46:18):
open up the season Thursday night, September.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
So going back to a philosophical discussion we had about
the playoffs and winning your division and the importance of
winning your division hosting a home playoff game. You guys
remember kind of the rant I went on back then
where I feel like your overall record should supersede winning
the division as far as hosting a home playoff game.
You win your division, you're in the playoffs, but you
(46:41):
still have to stack up to other teams that may
have a better record may plan a tougher division that
aren't winning their division, But I digress. One of the
reasons why I bring that up is it feels like
the NFL likes to schedule early and then late divisional
games because the importance of the division. Well, I would
(47:02):
argue as a former player, and I even think, speaking
for coaches, et cetera, like it's kind of tough to
then play right out the gate a divisional game to
start the season, as opposed to something that's maybe in
week four, five, six seven, once she kind of gets
your wheels going, especially considering no one plays in preseason anymore,
you have less preseason games, so I don't feel like
(47:25):
teams get their feet underneath them. They really start to
settle in until about two three, four weeks in the
season now, and so because of that, I kind of
hate the fact that we've got Even though it's awesome,
I love the matchup, I do hate the importance of
what that game could end up meeting. I do think
Dallas has a chance to be with some of the
(47:46):
talent they have a playoff team. Philly's obviously the favorite
to win the division. But I look at that and
just say it kind of you know, if there's flud
games that have all the time, Week one, all the time,
and for like the number one overall seed the NFC,
which is easier to get to the AFC, I'll admit that.
But for Philly to try to get back to repeat,
(48:09):
to try to which I think this roster is very
capable of. You know, they lost Kellen Moore, so Kevin Patulo,
who was their passing game coordinator, he's elevated into the
offensive coordinator spot. And then they'll continue to divide up
the run game coordinating parks phrases, and did their new
passing game coordinator. So they've got you know, a little
bit of change there on their staff. But for the
most part, you know, this is a team that I
(48:31):
think is a really good shot at repeating and having
home field advantage, getting the buy all those things are
so important, and having to play a divisional opponent week one.
It's tough sledding, man. I mean, it's tough setting for
a team in Dallas that maybe you guys look at
them and say they're a fringe wildcard team, or maybe
they're not even a playoff team in your mind, whatever
the case may be. I'm just saying I'm not sure
(48:52):
I'm a huge fan of seeing divisional games right out
the gate. I just if they're gonna be that important,
if that's how the league view them, I'd rather than
be a little further into the season.
Speaker 5 (49:04):
That's just my take.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
It's kind of like we've talked about this before, you know,
when like the big college football matchups at the start
of the year, like you schedule those big power non
con matchups, like when Alabama would play a USC or
somebody like that to open up the season, Like, yeah,
you're kind of working through stuff, So why would you
schedule a conference game at that point if it's gonna
(49:27):
have an impact later on in the year. And it's
the same thing. The NFL actually hasn't scheduled this season
opener as a division matchup in like five or six years,
and it feels like a division game people are going
to be all in on no matter what. At any
point in the year you had other options. I'm just
(49:47):
surprised that they decided to roll out Dallas this early
like it, and maybe.
Speaker 6 (49:52):
They but why, I mean, you're gonna have a tremendously
large viewing audience.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
You're gonna have that anyways, you're gonna have that anyways.
Speaker 6 (50:01):
But maybe more so than than in other games. I mean,
name another matchup that's gonna be competitive to that.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
So the potential match matchup outside of the Division, the
potential matchups for the Eagles could have been the Lions,
the Bears, the Rams, the Broncos, and the Raiders like that.
Speaker 6 (50:21):
They could have scheduled as the first game. Yeah, instead
of putting in that first spot. Yeah, I mean that
makes sense. You know, Detroit makes sense. I don't think
any of those are bigger games than the Eagles Dallas
game though, And I'm I'm of the same mindset that
that Q just just presented to the conversation. But with
(50:43):
that being said, there isn't a bigger matchup coming into
it than that. And I will say this, who knows
if Philadelphia is as good as they were this past year.
Who knows if Dallas will be any good? So why
not leverage what you can leverage out of that, in
(51:05):
particular at its highest peak of interest, which could most
definitely and safely be game number one?
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Wouldn't you guys? If they were going to go division
game to open up the year, I would have much
rather be Washington than Dallas. Like the way that played
out where they're jumping over the tush push all that
stuff that played out in the playoff game. Washington's got
all this optimism. They're one of the more exciting teams
in the league.
Speaker 6 (51:32):
It makes sense, and some would say historically speaking, that's
a bigger rivalry game too, but I think in recent
years Dallas and Philly have become more of the bigger
rivalry game. And again, I don't know for how long
Dallas will be relevant, you know, during the course of
(51:53):
the season. So coming in no losses, no wins, I mean,
you gotta believe that that's people are at the height
of their excitement for Dallas coming into it. So I
think it's you.
Speaker 3 (52:08):
Gotta get him out of getting this good good before
the reality before. How about this for an idea, all right,
why not the opening game of the season every year? Now,
this takes away from this segment and the announcement, but
why not make it a Super Bowl rematch? And I
(52:28):
understand that's hard to do because in the scheduling process there,
Philly has to go to Kansas City at some point
the season, we don't know when. And this has to
be a home game for the Super Bowl winning team.
But all I'm saying is it'd be pretty dope if
they started off the season with a rematch from teams
that played what seven months, six months priorate.
Speaker 6 (52:47):
I guess should always be that.
Speaker 5 (52:49):
That's what I'm saying, Like, wouldn't that be kind of sweet?
Speaker 3 (52:51):
And then you see there's some you know, maybe carry
over from the Super Bowl, some hard feelings. You can
see which team has gotten better in the off season,
some additions and as a measuring stick of what was
a year ago.
Speaker 6 (53:04):
Yeah, I would like that. I wouldn't have a problem
with that at all.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
I mean, I've read that I'd rather see that than
than Dallas. I just I don't know.
Speaker 6 (53:14):
Man.
Speaker 5 (53:14):
For the record, I'm not I'm not poo pooing on
Dallas like you guys are.
Speaker 6 (53:18):
I'm not poo pooing on them. I'm just saying it's safe,
it is safe to get them.
Speaker 5 (53:23):
You're saying, for a ratings perspective, it's correct.
Speaker 6 (53:25):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (53:26):
I get that.
Speaker 6 (53:27):
Yeah, correct, that's all I mean. You can maximize it
like versus if you do a week seven or eight,
you know, and it's like, dang, like Dallas really stinks
you know, or it might have worked out. They might
be you know, both teams might be in really really
strong positions, might even be challenging for the division at
(53:49):
that point. I don't know, but I do know you
can't miss if neither one of them has a win
or a loss on their record. Can't miss. That's a
for sure. We're going to be excited. It's the beginning
of the season. Philadelphia Eagle fans are are nuts. Dallas
Cowboy fans are delusional, eite nuts. You bring the two
(54:13):
together and you got a great first game to roll
out to people. I like the idea even though it's divisional.
If you don't like the fact that it's divisional, it
feels kind of lazy.
Speaker 2 (54:23):
Like last year you had Ravens Chiefs and like everyone
kind of realized, yeah, those are two teams that are
going to go places. This just feels like, well, it's Dallas,
They've got a name brand will throw them on.
Speaker 6 (54:34):
So I don't buy that. I don't think that's what
They could be good this year? Jonas, Why you don't
don't think that they have a chance to be competitive?
They could be good. What if they come out in
the first game and beat the breaks off of the Eagles.
That didn't happen, But what if they do? Do we
see flukes all the time?
Speaker 5 (54:52):
Week one? Well, that is true all the time.
Speaker 6 (54:55):
Didn't didn't Baltimore beat Kansas City in Week one last year? No?
Speaker 2 (54:59):
Remember the uh was too far over the back end line.
Speaker 5 (55:02):
That was close.
Speaker 6 (55:04):
Yeah, that is right, that was close.
Speaker 5 (55:06):
Oh, there you go. I don't know. You do happen,
but there's always some surprises.
Speaker 6 (55:12):
I would not be surprised if Dallas beat Philly in
in Week one. I would not be surprised. You you
just writing them off. I don't know why you're writing
them off. There's no reason to write them off.
Speaker 5 (55:24):
Jonah, I mean sticks picks.
Speaker 6 (55:28):
So you're going to do. I wouldn't go that far
as far as to say Dallas is going to be good.
We played the I love them. I did not say
that that That was not a representation of me.
Speaker 5 (55:41):
She sh
