Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the best of two pros and a couple
Joe with Lamar Rings and rating Win and Jonas Knox
on Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
All I'm gonna say is, the computers are kind of
given Lee a bad rap. I'm convinced today it's the
computers and it's not Lee.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Okay, Hey, what makes you feel that way?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm gonna say this too. I'm also his his his
screen is blank. He has no action on the screen
right now. But also we start having really cool conversations
with Ben when we're transitioning in and out because you know,
we're not the type of show where we have our
own studio or anything like that. We were communal, communal
based uh operations.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
So as you can tell like Random Screwdriver, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you know some of the left and we happen to be,
like Ben, one of the shows that is at one
of those hours where well it's kind of we're the
only ones working, you know, like other people aren't working now,
(01:10):
so you could tell that this is a place that's
active you know during the day.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
That was my strap that just fell active during the day. Yeah,
that's the burner, It hit the floor. That's all I
get it. I'm in the middle of a point. You
carry a burner with you. I carry my burner, bro,
everywhere you go. Pretty much you're strapped. I stay strapped.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
Bro.
Speaker 6 (01:33):
There are coyotes and homeless people in this parking ground
and they can.
Speaker 7 (01:36):
All get it.
Speaker 8 (01:37):
And it came at me last week.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
They can all coyotes in the parking Oh yeah, everywhere
they be. They be patrolling this bad boy and.
Speaker 9 (01:44):
So go on, are the coyoties going after the homeless people?
Speaker 5 (01:50):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I think they're working together. Actually they're in cahoots. Interesting, Yeah,
they're all together. So anyway, you know, and been caught
me Lamar this morning too. That has really really ruined
my life. I'm telling you, Lamar Jackson has really really
ruined my life. But anyway, so he had great exchanges.
But Ben is a big dude, so you can't really
(02:12):
where he's standing and wrapping up what he's doing. He
kind of he kind of blocks what you're able to
do a little bit. I mean he's tall, he's super tall, like,
so his wing span is out there. You know, you're
trying to ruin my big you're trying to.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Ruin into another one.
Speaker 8 (02:35):
I'm not doing anything.
Speaker 7 (02:36):
Okay, Cox anyway.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Anyway, So Lee's limited on what he's able to do
because I'm standing in one area trying, you know, I
wait for Ben to clear out and we're talking, and
then Lee's kind of trying to get around. So he
doesn't really have a lot of time before the like
it's like fifty six fifty seven, you know, before Lee
(03:02):
is really able to like get onto the computer, So
he doesn't have a lot of time to trouble shoes.
What I'm getting, I'm actually showing. I'm showing Lee some
love this morning. There's some love for Lee. He doesn't
have a whole lot of time to try to pool things.
Speaker 8 (03:15):
Yeah, I told you I'm team Lee.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
No, I ain't gonna say every day I am. I'm
not gonna say every day I am not team Lee.
But I'm sorry, I'm a little love right now.
Speaker 8 (03:28):
Yeah, well listen, Uh, you're stupid by the yeah you
got room.
Speaker 10 (03:33):
Probably you were thinking the same thing not till you
said until you started smirking.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
You do that little weird ass smirk.
Speaker 8 (03:42):
It's just you know, I look, I said it yesterday.
I think that the the zoom slash stream Yard era
of the show has been one of the it's been funny,
remarkable that I've been afart.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
It's pretty funny.
Speaker 8 (03:55):
That's really has really turned this whole thing upside down.
Speaker 7 (03:59):
So but I gave him some love.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Today, all right, So there we go, Yeah, all right,
hell yeah, Well Anthony Richardson didn't get any love.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Lee.
Speaker 10 (04:07):
Lee's still a starter, Yeah, Lee, he had no competition.
Lee's hey, Lee's a starter and Anthony Richardson is not.
Based on yesterday's news out of Indianapolis that the Colts
have named Daniel Jones QB one, here was Colt's head
coach Shane Stiken talking about why Anthony Richardson is not
(04:29):
the starter and why he ultimately went with Daniel Jones.
Speaker 8 (04:32):
As the guy.
Speaker 11 (04:32):
I think he's a veteran guy that's been around the
block and seeing a few things and seeing how he
interacts with his teammates and how they've taken to him
and how he's taken to them. I think he's done
a really nice job, and I think the guys are
excited for his opportunity. We got a good group around
him overall our football team offensively, the weapons we have
that I feel that he can be successful in AAR
was great. He knows that he still needs to develop
(04:53):
and learn, and he knows that he's one play away.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
What do you think you all can win with Daniel
when his career record isn't good and the last time
we saw him play football for the Giants it wasn't good.
Speaker 11 (05:04):
Well, I think that he's proven that he's played good
football in that twenty twenty two season. You know, he
had a hell of a year that year. I think
that was the highest completion rate in Giants franchise history
that season. So he's proven to do it. I know
he's had his ups and downs, but everyone's journey is different,
and feel confident in his abilities.
Speaker 8 (05:22):
So like a little bit of a loaded question or
a leading question there from whoever asked that about Dan.
Speaker 9 (05:28):
You're telling me the Colts fans don't sound excited about this.
Now you're trying to tell me, I.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
Mean talk about it.
Speaker 9 (05:35):
Yeah, Well, here's the problem is Colts fans, unfortunately, going
into the season, they knew what they were dealing with.
It's one of the reason why teams don't mind running
through you know, rookie quarterbacks, drafting them, playing them, you know,
toss them to the side, go at the next you
know next year's class because it creates hope and optimism.
It's like people tend to like that thing in the box,
(05:58):
the mystery box. I mean Lee picks the mystery box.
He get the mystery beer half the time, and it's
purely because of the surprise element to it. Even though
he got screwed in Arizona. Remember Lee, you kept getting
that same beer.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, get rid of it.
Speaker 9 (06:12):
It was like, yeah, the brown ale in the bag.
I digress though. The belly. The problem is with Richardson,
you kind of know what you're gonna get based on
what you've seen. It's been injuries, it's been inconsistent play.
I mean, he's think about this. Shane Seychin wouldn't have
(06:35):
to go any further than just talking about his issues
being able to complete passes and and move the sticks.
I mean there he's completing like forty two of his
pass on third down. So for as great of a
talent as he is and as much upside as there
still is, and he's twenty three years old, he is
(06:56):
younger than like Tyler Schuck just got drapped in the NFL.
You could probably name off six seven other quarterbacks who
maybe have either been in the league for a year
or been or just got drafted league he's younger, then
that's what's wild is he still has so much potential ability.
The problem is they just don't have time for him
to develop, meaning Shane stike And and Chris Ballard. Don't you know,
(07:17):
even though it's still keeping in the family with mister
Jim Mersey passing away, it's still someone else in a
different ownership group in control. And if you think they
don't want to put their stamp on it, you're out
of your mind. Anytime there's a change in ownership, they
want to put their own stamp on things. They want
to be working with people that they trust, they know,
they hired, and then they can fire. In this case,
(07:40):
that's not really the situation with Shane stike And and Chris Ballard,
who's been there for a long time and unfortunately as
general manager you can probably pick and choose your spots
where he's drafted well, but they haven't. They haven't won
a division championship. So I understand the stinks for Colts
fans because they're looking at what Daniel Jones was with
the Giants. But I think you're hoping optimism has to
(08:03):
be that this is going to be like a Geno
Smith type resurrection. You know, he's going to be able
to turn things around how they've looked in the past,
fit in the Shane Stikeen system, and with some of
the talent they do have to help this team win
football games.
Speaker 7 (08:16):
It's very possible.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
If Jonathan Taylor stays healthy, he's the equivalent of a
Saquon Barkley to Daniel Jones. He's a dynamic running back.
He can catch the ball. I mean, he has talent,
and when Daniel Jones had success, it was because the
(08:38):
offense heavily relied on and went through the running back.
So he has a talented enough I'm not saying Jonathan
is a Saquon. I'm saying he's not bad. He can
be an elite guy, and if he stays healthy, he's
a guy that can have really really explosive games. It
opens up the offense and protects the quarterback. He's got
(09:02):
a great safety blanket, as you mentioned, having talent around
him and Tyler Warren. And as a rookie, I mean,
who knows what he does. But brock Bauers showed that
a rookie can have strong impact on an offense and
on the game plan. So I think that you can
have a level of success, but it still bags the
(09:23):
question if you can if you can take that weight
and that pressure off of Daniel Jones to have to
carry the load on his shoulder, pause and delivered the
ball you know down the field. You know, you got Pittman,
who who can really really he can play, and we'll
see if he can continue to play out a high
level or even go to a higher level. But it
(09:44):
just begs the question if you're going to bring in
Daniel Jones after you've had this this high draft pick
in Anthony Richardson, and Anthony Richardson doesn't have the same
opportunities to have that success with those players in position
that they're in. Now, what does that really mean for
Anthony Richardson. I feel as though they've made a definitive choice,
(10:08):
like you can. We could say, you know, oh, he
needs more development, and that's probably true. He's not going
to get development in a regular season scenario. In a
regular season setting, he's not the only development he's going
to be able to get is mental reps. If he's
going into the meeting rooms and spending those times in
(10:29):
the meeting rooms, meeting with coaches and stuff like that.
During downtime, off time, he's going to have to spend
extra time for development. But in terms of reps, he's
not going to get development in in practices. So to
say he's a project or a guy that needs more development,
this says to me, it screams his opportunity as the
(10:53):
coach starter. Outside of an injury or something traumatic, you know,
happening to the team, it's done.
Speaker 7 (11:01):
It's done for now.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
I mean, at least he's not gonna get tired on
a drive this year. You know, there's that you might
get tired watching.
Speaker 9 (11:07):
I think that's the element too, of development that he
still needs, you know, and and calling their last game
of the season, you know, he was dealing with the
thin back issues then and talking to some of the
folks around the organization, there really was a feel that
he just was not acting as if he was a
professional quarterback. Wasn't staying late, wasn't doing the things you
(11:30):
typically do as a starter, you know, throwing you know,
extra reps of you know, whatever the new route concept is,
you know, coming or you know, being being able to
get in there early before meetings and make sure you're
prepared for everything, staying late, like all those things they like,
you know, people expect and talk about it's an unwritten rule.
And when you talk to people within the organization, I
(11:52):
think that was what was the most disapportant part was
is they felt like Anthony Richardson had had been there
long enough to be able to at least have that
opportunity for two years to say all right after his
rookie year. Yes there's injuries there, but there's still a
sense of like, this is how you're supposed to do it.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
And in the year two you start eleven games.
Speaker 9 (12:12):
During there's eleven games, you turn the football over too much,
you're not complete enough passes on third down, and you're
not doing the things that we feel like you need
to do in order to be.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Successful on a consistent basis. They let him. That's the
tough part.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
What you're saying right now means that Shane Stike in
in a way has enough respect or enough feelings towards
Anthony Richardson to let him down light because to listen
to what Stiken said versus the listening to what you're
saying right now, Q. He let him off easy. He
let him off easy, because if I'm stiking, I gotta
say this is why, Like okay, it's like to say
(12:51):
he needs more development. That's very open ended. You just
gave more light to it, in detail to it. And
those are the cases, and those are the reasons why
Kan Richardson has lost his space and where he's at
his status of what he is. That's that's very damning.
That's very damning for a high draftick.
Speaker 8 (13:11):
Did you see the quotes from Anthony Richardson's agent that
came out? So he spoke with ESPN, Derek Jackson's his name,
and he said, quote, we have a lot to discuss.
Trust is a big factor, and that is at best
questionable right now, Anthony came back and made the improvements
in the areas he needed to improve, and by all accounts,
(13:32):
he had a great camp. When they needed a big
play last year, whose hands did they play put the
ball in? They put the ball in Anthony's hands. It's like,
how does that help the situation? And he's kind of
tiptoeing around. Reportedly, maybe they'll look for a trade, maybe
they'll dude, the guy was inconsistent, he couldn't stay on
(13:52):
the field. And then when he was on the field,
he asked for a break and opted out of a game. Jonas, Okay,
but that's a really bad look.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
That's bad.
Speaker 7 (14:00):
It's a bad look, no doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
It didn't It didn't hit well with anyone on the team.
Speaker 9 (14:06):
I can tell you that because I was really curious
about that particularly, and I said, I was like, look,
I've never seen that before in my life at any level.
I mean, I talked with a couple of guys. I
was like, They're like, yeah, you should just went down
and act like he was injured. Like like, that's like
literally what we were like. It looked so bad. From
an optics standpoint, it was like, yeah, maybe he just
(14:26):
doesn't get it. And and here's here's to his agent's point,
like maybe he did improve in some areas. The problem is,
even with somewhat of what we see in the preseason,
it's kind of the same thing. There's a splash plays
where you go, wow, that's great, and there's those others
where you're like, he's just not consistent enough. And by
the way, I won't push back that you can't develop
(14:46):
during practice. There are some fundamental things that he could
do better, and he can kind of train himself to
do better. I keep going back to the fact he
only had one year starting in college, and so you
know how he drops back, how he's seen the defense,
how he's reading the defense, how his feet are syncd
with that. There are fundamental things when I watch his game,
I don't feel like he's consistently doing like those basic
(15:10):
fundamentals with his full work, which is one of the
reasons why I feel like he tends to be off sometimes,
in particular on third down, where the windows are tighter,
the timing has to be tighter, and you have to
be very precise with where you're going with the football,
what you're doing with your feet. So to me, there's
still a ton of, you know, fundamental work he can
do to improve upon all that because all the tools
(15:32):
are there. I mean, he has got as much upside
as anyone in the NFL. It's just he's he hasn't
had the chance to really develop and hone in on
some of those And you could go through your list
of other guys who through the years have continued to
develop once they've gotten to the NFL with some of
those fundamental things. I mean, I'm not trying to compare
him to Aaron Rodgers. But if you do, you remember
(15:53):
how Aaron Rodgers used to throw before he got in
the NFL. I mean he would hold the ball like back,
almost like it was up above his shoulder, like an
ecstatic spot. And then as he developed over those three
years where he really didn't play much, he started to
drop the ball down more around his chest, got a
little more fluid with that.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
So you can.
Speaker 9 (16:12):
Definitely change some things and grow and progress and mature
as a pass I mean you can make the same
case for Jordan Love. I don't think he had as
many issues with his throwing motion. He just had to
clean up some of his footwork. But the same thing,
I mean watching Aaron Rodgers and how he handled things,
how he's able to develop. Unfortunately for the Colts, Richardson
got drafted and they thrust it in there rather early.
He gets injured and his rookie year kind of goes
(16:33):
to the wayside.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
There is a silver lining to all of this for
Anthony Richardson and his agent just needs to relax and
chill out. There's a silver lining. It's Daniel Jones that
starting he doesn't have to hope for an injury really
like you would think like, oh, they brought in.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
You got there's there's Daniel Jones.
Speaker 8 (16:58):
You know Stich said it, he's a play away. Well,
Daniel Jones.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Could you know if those those supporting cast members don't
show up, if it's on Daniel Jones solely to make
it work.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (17:13):
By the way Brady alluded to this, I hadn't. I
didn't realize it's been twenty fourteen since they've won the division.
And that is if you were to just ask ten people,
at least nine out of ten would tell you probably
the weakest division in the NFL, and the Colts haven't
won it in over a decade. It's a long ass time,
long time fourteen Andrew Luck can quarterback of that team?
Speaker 9 (17:37):
Can I give you guys an idea as to like
how that came about? So typically during the end of
the year and I get to call these for Fox
as far as a joy where you're talking about whether
or not coaches are I'm being.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Sarcastic by the way.
Speaker 9 (17:51):
You're talking about whether or not coaches aren't going to
be retained or general managers and the players and the
roster are trying to play for all thirty one other
teams in the NFL. At that point, there's a blame
game that goes on behind the scenes, and when you're
calling an NFL game, there's different people who are just
generally approach you because they know you're a vessel for
(18:11):
them to talk about what's happened and what maybe needs
to happen or should happen, almost like you can shape
public perception for people out there don't understand. This is
politics at the highest level in the NFL and guys
trying to keep their jobs and some points that were
brought up in regards to Chris ballad where they haven't
(18:33):
won the division since Chris Ballard's been there. So yes,
there's some players that you might look at and say, oh,
that's a good draft pick.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
That's a good draft.
Speaker 9 (18:40):
Pick, or maybe some decisions that were made in regards
to extensions or free agents, whatever the case may be.
But they did make sure to highlight that that since
Chris Ballard's been there, this has not been a roster
that I don't know you guys tell me, do you
look at it and say.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
It's oh, I don't it does and jump out at you.
But I'm more of a name brand guy too. Though
there could be some really really fine football players on
this team and they just don't hit the name brand Kirkland.
They are definitely Kirkling. They're definitely Kirkling. No Pepsi, but
(19:20):
R C Cola, you guys.
Speaker 9 (19:23):
Get my point though, I mean there there becomes that
blame game of well, you know, Shan Stegen's been here,
They've kind of in some of the years been able
to kind of keep it close down the stretch. Haven't
quite been able to make it. But if they could
just make some roster improvements. You know, there's there's different
thoughts and things that are said, and you hear those
things and you kind of internalize and go, okay, not
that this is going to make it on air, but
(19:44):
it is interesting to point that out. It's been over
a decade and usually someone has to take the fall
for that or the blame for that. And maybe in
this case again because of the ownership structure now with
you know the Ursa say daughters, you know, inheriting this,
they might just want to clean slate altogether. And I
(20:06):
think that's part of this decision is they want to
go with a guy even as bad as LeVar just
made out what it's been in New York. They look
at a season, We're like, hey, if we can get
that season out of them, we feel like we can
be competitive and we can win some football games.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
You know, like we feel like that's the reality of it.
Like that's what they're trying to hang on to.
Speaker 7 (20:25):
That's a bad.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Look for Anthony Richardson's That's just it's just a bad look.
Like that just tells you what they feel about Anthony Richardson.
They brought him in and he won the job, or
better yet, Anthony Richardson gave that job away. That's really,
in my estimation, Anthony Richardson more so than Daniel Jones
(20:49):
coming in and taking that job. He gave it away.
Speaker 9 (20:52):
That's actually to the point, Jonas, I'm trying to think
of the other quarterback competitions we've had where they've like
one guy's been there, the income been and they brought
a guy in. I'm trying to think who else, uh
that would fall in that category that lost out on
that job.
Speaker 8 (21:07):
Oh yeah, you know, I remember a time.
Speaker 7 (21:12):
I don't know if I told you guys this.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
But jeez, I wasn't trying to go to Chicago when
they flipped the tell you that they flipped a can
I ask you guys this though, or is this a
bit y'all.
Speaker 7 (21:22):
Want to finish the bit?
Speaker 5 (21:23):
Well?
Speaker 3 (21:23):
No, who's the I was asking a serious question.
Speaker 8 (21:26):
What what what team? I'm trying to think, Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Well, who's the other quarterback out?
Speaker 9 (21:33):
As for example, the Saints, I mean, Ratler's going up
against Tyler Show, So that's one where like Ratler's there,
they bring in shock if Shuck kind of wins out,
It's like the new face would be another example of that,
even though he's a rookie.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
I mean, do we feel like Rattler was projected to
be a guy? I feel like he's a jag.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (21:54):
I just feel like that. You know, you're talking about the.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Stupid I'm just saying, why do you let Why do
you let a guy go?
Speaker 7 (22:07):
If you're going to do a rental quarterback? Why would you.
Speaker 8 (22:11):
It's just identical, it's not identical identical.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
They don't sign anything alike. Yeah, yours doesn't sound like that, but.
Speaker 7 (22:22):
It was close.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
It's close, though, Why do you let Why you let
Flaco go and he goes to become a starter somewhere
else and you had success with Flacco when he took over, right,
why do you why do you let him go? If
you're going to go to Daniel Jones and like there's
way more of an unknown, even though Jones is younger
(22:44):
and could potentially have more upside because of the amount
of time.
Speaker 7 (22:48):
Maybe that exists, But why do you let Flacko go?
Speaker 2 (22:53):
If your intentions are if if Anthony Richardson isn't the guy,
then it's going to be Daniel Jones.
Speaker 7 (23:02):
Why do you that flack goh going? Why do you
start for Cleveland?
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Now?
Speaker 8 (23:05):
Fla couldn't have the same success in Indye that he
did with Cleveland.
Speaker 9 (23:10):
He went in't bad well not, I'll put it this way,
not wins losses, like if that's how you're gonna grade him.
He did give their offense a pretty big left, like
if you go back through in particular the passing game.
Im again, Richardson struggled to complete what over fifty percent
of the passes he was at sixty five percent. He
had flipped the touchdown interception ratio twelve touchdowns like seven interceptions.
(23:33):
It was an entirely different feel for their ability to
throw the football consistently. So there were some improvements it
didn't showcase necessary in the record, which look in the
final six games or the six games you start, especially
when they're kind of you know a Richardson was in
and out. There are elements of that where it's like
it's it's tough to.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Get into a rhythm. You look at what he did
in Cleveland.
Speaker 9 (23:53):
He got in there and he got the rest of
the season, and he was able to help take them
into the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (23:58):
Why not do it with him and do it there? Like,
I don't know how.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
Much of it.
Speaker 9 (24:03):
I don't know how much of it wasn't on his
shoulders to make that decision. You know, he there's there's
a sense that I had that maybe he liked what
was there in Cleveland, and from his past experience being
there in Cleveland, it felt like maybe a better, better spot.
That's a division he's familiar with, it was an offense,
a coach he's familiar with. There's a lot of things
(24:24):
that I think led to that decision, but also maybe
even the opportunity, like knowing that you weren't going to
have to deal with the whole Anthony Richardson situation, that
quarterback competition. It was gonna be a different one with
based on everything that I had transpired in.
Speaker 7 (24:39):
The past, makes sense.
Speaker 8 (24:41):
Yeah, it's And the only other situation I can think
of is like Kyle Trask, but he wasn't drafted as
a as a first round guy like Richardson where they
brought him Baker Mayfield, they had a competition, Baker ended
up well, I'd.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Say there was four this year.
Speaker 9 (24:55):
There's the Browns, which Flack would have taken that over
which there wasn't really an incumbent.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
The Colts.
Speaker 9 (25:00):
They brought in Jones, he ends up being the starter. Yeah,
you had rather Hayner both there, Shuck was the guy drafted.
We'll see who starts, and then you know, I don't
know how you look at the Giants, like the Veto's there,
I was really count I guess they bring in Draft
one and bringing two new guys and Russell's have been
the start of the whole time. So I'm not really
sure how you look at it, but like those are
the ones this year. You could say going into training
(25:21):
camp preseason that people have mentioned they're talked about as
a quarterback competition.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
It sounds like all the new guys are getting first
crack at it.
Speaker 1 (25:29):

Speaker 8 (26:24):
You are making us a part of your Wednesday. We
appreciate it, and we're having a good time here on
this fine Wednesday morning here, and it's appropriate because we
now turn it over to a Wednesday tradition, the one
and only Petros Papadakis. He is the cost of the
(26:45):
Petros and Money Show, which you can hear on the
blowtorch Am five to seven e LA Sports, a Fox
College football analyst. You can get him on X at
the Old P and our good buddy here. Good morning, Petros,
Hello p, Good morning everybody.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
Hello.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Hello.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
I did a parody song to I'm in Love with
a Stripper twenty years ago.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
You remember it?
Speaker 6 (27:08):
Yeah, well he might be able to find it online.
They played it on Fox Sports West and made a
video and everything. It was called I'm in Love with
the Clippers.
Speaker 7 (27:19):
Oh, I get that.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
Brands m it was like Brands Bop and.
Speaker 7 (27:25):
Then Tracy mcgrad and Corey mcghetty, right.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
And then Ralph Lawler used to hold the microphone like
in his hand.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
What's the law Yeah, so it would be Ralph's hold
and the microphone like a pole and hum in Love
with the Clipper.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
I haven't heard that song in a long time, but
I did that. Yeah for a long that was what
Mike Jones.
Speaker 7 (27:52):
That's t Payne.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Yeah, but there's a rapper on there too, and I
always thought, I think on it.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
I think you're right.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
Yeah, I know, Mike Jones was on in love.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
With Mike Jones.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
You can call us number two eight one three, three
oh eight zero zero. Fow did you ever call them
Mike Jones up on the low?
Speaker 5 (28:14):
Hello? I did? Yeah, No he did not say hello.
Speaker 7 (28:21):
Oh interesting, But.
Speaker 6 (28:22):
Anyway, that brought back memory. Sorry, but yes I was.
And there was a time where I was in love
with the Clippers.
Speaker 7 (28:28):
Nice. So you're not anymore?
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Huh No, No, I don't.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Are you in love with uh Matthew Stafford's back?
Speaker 5 (28:35):
You know?
Speaker 7 (28:36):
Are you in love with with?
Speaker 5 (28:37):
Well? I mean, you guys know better than me.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
You guys are pro football players, and you know that
when a guy is whatever, ten years into his career
and they tell you that he's beat up during camp,
it's always really miraculous that when camp is coming to
an end, that guy somehow is ready to play, and
we all go along with it, like, oh my god,
(29:00):
he's got a bad back, and it's like, yeah, you
got a bad back when they signed him.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
So it's on them.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
If they signed a guy with a bad back and
he's not ready to play, his back's probably bad.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Because his wife is such a pain in the rear.
Speaker 6 (29:13):
Oh wow, I'm in love with the couple.
Speaker 8 (29:17):
But uh yeah, by the way, Petris, we did find
the song, oh for.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
Real and like Joe let me, Oh god, this is
so old. I would have to take my head. Everybody
in the city, you guys can listen to this.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
I cannot represent your hood, represent your block, represent twenty years.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
Why did I tell you I did this.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
Same casaluy cadist.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
Just look at a red and blue I see you.
Speaker 7 (29:58):
Marshall Tino studying what he's doing. Pretty good, her baby
to the squad to do the right thing.
Speaker 6 (30:14):
I'm in love with the.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
Microphone.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
I'm in love with the ring and castles and Chris.
Speaker 8 (30:24):
It's good Patrick.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
The clip shopping is dang blast.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
Came in stand Man's team.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
You gotta playoff burning pup the Lakers too. That's what
Sam Seller's work.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
You see, Rica Solls just say the love I scream
of Pope when I.
Speaker 7 (30:53):
Get oh my gosh, is really good. I mean, you're
at Live this killer.
Speaker 8 (31:03):
And you went to a professional studio to bang this
out or what?
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 6 (31:08):
This one was done by a guy who was like
a white rapper who's like sold airtime on the station.
That was back when I worked at the old Korean stage.
Speaker 9 (31:18):
Oh can I ask you this, Petross, how does the
autotune thing work? Can you tell when you're singing what
it sounds like?
Speaker 5 (31:26):
No, I think they must have done it later.
Speaker 9 (31:29):
So when you're singing this, because like I, I don't
have a good voice, and so I'm always like curious
because everyone's like no, no, no, Well anyone can sing.
Speaker 5 (31:36):
Sang a lot better.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
Okay, So I used to sing a lot of songs
on the radio. A lot of them did not have
auto tune.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Yeah, you're right, cue though, if you know, anybody can
sing with audio auto two.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
That's like, that was right.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
That was the whole point of like what ushered in
like no talent, you know, the no talent era of
doing things.
Speaker 8 (32:00):
Gonna we're just gonna ignore the text that Lee just sent.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
Yes, so this is well, I think I think I
can tell.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Yeah what fire alarms might go off in the middle
of our segment.
Speaker 8 (32:15):
Yeah, you know they run it a test here, Petros.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Oh, that's fine, that's happened at the station before. Yeah,
So anyway, sorry for the diversion, but I used to.
I mean I could tell you a new parody song
every week. I mean, superfly, Superfly bro. I used to
be really creative. We used to do one every week
and took forever to produce, but we used to do it. Yeah,
I would download it. Pete Carroll used to love the songs.
He'd be like, what do you got this week? I
(32:40):
got Rudy t to let it be.
Speaker 8 (32:45):
Uh, Petros, are you uh? Do you have your schedule
for Week one of the college football season? Do you
know what? What are we looking at?
Speaker 6 (32:53):
I am flying which I hate doing to uh Michigan
East Lansing, which is where I did my last game.
So I'll have the Michigan State and they're hosting Western,
and Western's got an interesting coach, an only Native American
coach in all of college FBS. So I have that
(33:15):
on Friday night a week from Friday, and then I'll
fly back and do Fresno versus Clay Helton, which is
a battle of old USC coaches. Matt Enttz, who was
there last year, former head coach at North Dakota State,
championship coach at North Dakota State, and he is the
coach at Fresno. Now he spent one year as a
(33:37):
linebacker coach at SC versus Clay Helton for Georgia Southern
Go Southern in Statesville, State's Borough, State's state town. Anyway,
So that's my I have two games, double it up,
but I might not see game.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
That's never easy. By the way, So you're saying Lance Taylor, native.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
American, he's the only one. Yeah, he's like Chickchaw.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Or something that's actually Chickchaw isn't made up Indian name.
And that's from a movie called uh uh moon right,
Actually a movie I absolutely loved Wes Anderson movie called
called Moonrise Kingdom.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
He goes, maybe he's on the.
Speaker 6 (34:26):
Old Chickchaw trailer, but uh yeah. So that's my first game. Uh,
Michigan State with Jonathan Smith, who I like a lot.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
And it's kind of funny.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
Last year Michigan State had the number one guy in
the portal in Aidan childs uh coming from Morgan State
with Jonathan Smith and uh, he kind of struggled last year.
They had some on line problems. He had some trouble
maybe with maturity as a player protecting the ball, and
I expect him to take a big leave. I expect
their O line to be a lot better. They have
(35:00):
a great tight end and Jack Velling Michigan State's pretty good.
And then Western was a was a surprise team last
year in the MAC. They won six games and made
a Bowl game, so that'll be fun. And then I'm
really intrigued by Fresno.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
They have EJ. Warner, Kurt Warner's son who was at Rice.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
He's gonna start at quarterback, and the guys in North
Dakota State coach, so they're gonna have four tight ends.
But we'll get to look at Fresno on Saturday because
they play at Kansas against Daniels, the quarterback from Lawndale
out here, and so they'll play a week zero game,
so we'll get to look at them.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Petros, in any game in particular, you're looking forward to
the most? Are you just.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
Western? The ones I have? You know, Brady, what that's like.
You know you kind of concentrate on those. I mean,
of course, you know, we talked a bunch at the
seminar and all that about Ohio State in Texas, and
and that's really intriguing a young Ohio State team at
home against the number one Texas team with a quarterback
(36:04):
and unreal expectations on him. So that part of it
is intriguing UCLA. What's Niko that's the number one quarterback
in the portal this season, right, nico Iamalayava, and he's
going to take the field that Ucla against Utah who's
got a new quarterback, Dan Pierre, exciting yet inaccurate player
(36:28):
from New Mexico last year. And well he's like.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Five to six, he's tiny.
Speaker 6 (36:37):
He's a really fun player. But that's an interesting game. Like,
what's nico Ia Malayava going to feel like taking the
field in Knoxville to one hundred and thirty thousand or
hoever many you know Hillbillies.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
They fit in there, God bless them.
Speaker 6 (36:53):
And then what's it going to feel like to the
twenty eight thousand or whatever that's at the Rose Bowl
in a stadium that fits about that many one hundred
thousand when he runs out against Utah, it'll be it'll
be an interesting juxtaposition. But yeah, those are I mean us,
he's got Missouri State that's not very intriguing, Colorado State
(37:14):
Washington on the Big ten network. I like that game
only because I thought I had it for a while,
so I looked into it, and I also thought I
had San Jose State versus Central Michigan, and I was
interested in that game because Central had a big linebacking
corps returning.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
But yeah, I mean, just it's fun to have college
football back.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
I think we had the conversation every week this offseason
that it's fun to get away from the portal and
all the stuff that we don't like about the sport
that we bitch about all offseason and have the games
to talk about so we don't have to bitch as much.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
How you feel about your alma mater, those those Trojan Warriors.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
I'm av I don't really.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
I mean, we've talked about that, don't I don't think
that there's a lot of noise that's going to be made.
And I think if you thought that there was, that
people would have been making it all off season. Nobody
loves throwing an off season party like USC post sanctions, right,
whether it's Kiffin recruiting or Sark recruiting, or we can't
(38:24):
fire Clay Helton because of the recruiting class, or we
can't fire Lincoln Riley because of the because of his buyout.
You know, USC hasn't had much to celebrate other than
a recruiting class coming in twenty twenty six. Maybe so,
and they have a very light early season schedule Missouri
(38:45):
State and Georgia Southern. They're gonna play Clay Helton and
Georgia Southern actually is a more experienced team this year,
and maybe a Sun Belt team that will go to
the championship. They were closed last year, so maybe that'll
be a little bit more intriguing of a game. But
it's not like USC's hitting the hitting the ground running
like they did last year when they beat LSU and
(39:07):
got idiots like me all excited, only to realize that
it was a false erection.
Speaker 8 (39:12):
Oh wow, she had all those alum in Vegas for
that game, and everybody.
Speaker 5 (39:17):
Was like great.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
I mean in LSU is a was a team with
a good quarterback and well coached obviously, and USC went
out not only one against LSU, but they won in
a way that made it look like they were a
serious football team, and that, yeah, that evaporated.
Speaker 9 (39:35):
Like they're serious this year though. I think they're serious
this year USC or l I think they'll be USC.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
I mean l will be for sure.
Speaker 6 (39:43):
Schedules not bad, but I look, they couldn't beat Minnesota
or Maryland last year, so and I don't think the
team is very different other other than I mean, they
have a good decordinator.
Speaker 9 (39:55):
But right are they are they still selling those tickets
for fans will run out with the team.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
They're still doing that?
Speaker 5 (40:02):
I don't know, I hope not. No.
Speaker 7 (40:04):
I think that we took advantage of that.
Speaker 6 (40:06):
They might sell those tickets, but I don't think they're
going to sell those tickets to you anymore if you're
dressed up like the Penn State mascot.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Yeah, what about the postgame press conference?
Speaker 9 (40:15):
As we saw Oklahoma doing that, That seems like a
great idea, Like what could go wrong there?
Speaker 5 (40:19):
Right? What what do you mean?
Speaker 9 (40:21):
You know, like they're selling tickets to the postgame press
conferences so fans can go sitting in afterwards and listen
to it. So like, for example, let's just say you
get into one of those you know, you pay five
hundred bucks to go sit.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
Down for something that's free on YouTube.
Speaker 9 (40:34):
What they're charging because you could pop in there maybe
ask a question.
Speaker 5 (40:37):
You know, I didn't know that. Yeah, yeah, that seems stupid.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
What could things in the world was being a sideline
guy at USC and having to do the postgame like
going into the locker room and interviewing the coach.
Speaker 8 (40:54):
I hated that unless the coach has some short unless
the coach loses his mind, has an outburst, and there's something. Look,
what are the point? What's the point of those? You're
just gonna get killed.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
Riley is pretty interesting.
Speaker 6 (41:07):
You know, He's done some pretty He's He's had a
hard time navigating the LA media, which is really remarkable
because the LA media is like a toothless lizard that
doesn't care. Oh, by the way, my daughter's birthday was yesterday.
Speaker 8 (41:22):
Birthday, Happy Birthday.
Speaker 5 (41:23):
Got two lizards.
Speaker 7 (41:25):
Oh yeah, added to the family.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
You're a lizard family.
Speaker 5 (41:28):
I know now here a Lizzer Lizzer, Lizzer Lizzer Lizar.
Speaker 6 (41:32):
I need like a leather vest and a player of
black rebox and like a Nick Saban feathered hair with
a pony tail. I need a scooter. I'm becoming a
real reptile guy. But uh yeah, she bought two crested geckos.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
They look different, crested echo geko What colors are they crested?
Speaker 6 (41:52):
They they're actually very very interesting patterns on their body,
but their heads are shaped like the Geico gecko. Yeah yeah,
so yeah, we got those here at the house.
Speaker 5 (42:04):
Nice different terrarium.
Speaker 6 (42:06):
I think the bearded dragon might try to bite them.
Speaker 8 (42:11):
It was good seeing you at the remote last Friday
and at Tarantula Hill.
Speaker 9 (42:15):
Yetive, can you give us your perspective on Jonas when
he comes to those events?
Speaker 5 (42:22):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (42:23):
Well, you know, Jonas is a pretty interesting person to
see in person, right, And I'm sure both of you guys.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
Can you're concerned about him like really sucking your blood?
You know you might attack a little bit.
Speaker 6 (42:34):
Well, the sun's out though, so you know he's got
to have like some It's interesting because you know he
flew in from Hawaii, but he can't fly in in
the normal plane. If you ever saw that show True Blood,
he's got to take a Nubis air when they put
you to sleep in a coffin. But uh, it was uh,
(43:00):
it was a fun event. We have another event on Friday.
If you're in La we have a or Orange County.
It's the best party of the year. We have a
great eighties nineties cover band called Fast Times. They even
do some seventies and we have we'll be at the
van's headquarters in Coasta, Mesa. Right, the gigantic building with
(43:24):
the checkerboard top and the half pipe will.
Speaker 8 (43:27):
Be going and yeah, you guys have a Petro some
money show van shoes.
Speaker 5 (43:34):
Yeah, we're good.
Speaker 6 (43:35):
We have the new This is the eighth year that
they're making Petros and money shoes.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
Designed appreciate the Vans you gave me. You know, I
really appreciated those, and that's as thirteen. Then I got
I wear them all the time.
Speaker 5 (43:48):
By the way, do you want some shoes, LeVar? Oh?
Speaker 7 (43:51):
Yeah, I wanted those ones you had on that show.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
You remember you had that multicolored pair of Vans on
They were pretty smooth.
Speaker 5 (43:56):
I gotta have them. I mean I got a lot.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
Every time you open up a closet around here, you
get hit him side the head with a pair of
slize thirteens that I can't get rid of. Yeah, man,
So I'll pick up some shoes and get into you LeVar.
Speaker 7 (44:07):
Perfect. I love sneakers. By the way, there you go.
Speaker 9 (44:11):
Can we can we go back to just Jonas though, like,
like what was he doing while he was there?
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Was he like sitting in the corner talking?
Speaker 6 (44:18):
So he has a Pamela Anderson like tattoo, you know,
from the nineties and of his high school band and uh,
and he's probably like he wears a shirt with a
shirt hiked up so.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
You can see it. Yeah, you know.
Speaker 6 (44:38):
And he's always wearing like clothes that you would like
see them dressed like somebody who's on the Disney Channel,
like not somebody who would wear in real life, you know,
like a stylus dressed him, you know what I mean
that one year Troy Aikman showed up to the Fox
seminar and Everybody's like, whoa, it's Troy hired a Styla's
(45:00):
He was wearing like fatigues. People were like, when's Troy
getting deployed?
Speaker 5 (45:05):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (45:06):
So yeah, Jonas, you know, he likes the dark. He
likes the darker, the darker look.
Speaker 7 (45:12):
He does, like you know, he looks like he's got
a little golf to him.
Speaker 6 (45:15):
Yeah, it looks like he could be like, uh like
like eight oh five golf, Yeah, you know, and uh
looks like he could be, uh, I don't know, in
a band still Yeah, lost, and I guess.
Speaker 5 (45:31):
He kind of is. Yeah lost boys.
Speaker 6 (45:33):
Yeah, there's vampires in Santa Carla Mom a little bit
like that.
Speaker 8 (45:39):
I did bring you, uh, chocolates from the Great Island
of Maui.
Speaker 6 (45:43):
Though, yeah, yeah, the twenty dollars once from the airport.
We really appreciate those. Somebody you were like talking about
those like you know with you know, it was like
a running joke.
Speaker 5 (45:53):
I get it, and uh.
Speaker 6 (45:55):
And you know, whatever you buy at the airport in Maui,
we've all gotten that gift, like over and over and
oh yeah if you live on the West coast.
Speaker 5 (46:02):
And uh.
Speaker 6 (46:03):
The funniest part about it was like somebody texted me
like a day later, like those chocolates aren't that important.
They're at the airport. What's he talking about? It's like, God,
you gullible idiots.
Speaker 5 (46:14):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (46:15):
The only thing about Jonas is like I don't he's
older than I. You know that I thought when I
first met him he's older. Yeah, he doesn't.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
Does he come off very immature? Is But I.
Speaker 6 (46:28):
Think at a certain point he's going to start using
if he's not already there, he's going to start using
the Ryan Day blue black Beard and mustache comb.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
Oh yeah, did you see Ryan Day?
Speaker 3 (46:39):
He said he doesn't use any sort.
Speaker 5 (46:41):
Of a right, sure, he grows out of his head
just like that. I heard what he said.
Speaker 6 (46:50):
I I was the first to call out Ryan Day's
black beard, and then it became a national topic and
somebody else took credit for it, and the fact that
he had to actually answer for it tickles by fancy.
But that ain't a real beard. No, if that's a
real beard, I'm Lawrence Taylor. Give me some crack on
(47:12):
a hanging ear ring. Don't smoke crack. You know why
they call a crack, don't you. I'm not even kidding,
you know, because it crackles when you light it.
Speaker 7 (47:28):
No kidding, it does crackle. I mean, I don't know
anything about it.
Speaker 8 (47:38):
Pee, we appreciate it. Uh, smoke crack, don't you? Always
always good? Jump and uh and we'll do it again.
Speaker 6 (47:45):
To look at this slovenly sloppy boy.
Speaker 5 (47:48):
That's an example of how not to dress.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (47:56):
My white children are my white students.
Speaker 8 (48:03):
We will do it again next week.
Speaker 7 (48:04):
Pe, we appreciate you.
Speaker 8 (48:05):
There aren't the great Petros Papavegas with us here on
Fox Sports Radio. We might have a little bit of
an issue potentially coming up down the road. When it
comes to Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys, if you
believe Adam Schefter, who spoke about the situation between the
Cowboys and Parsons on his podcast recently, and it sounded
(48:27):
like this, you can't get.
Speaker 14 (48:28):
A deal done if you're not even talking, And the
two sides haven't had any negotiations since late March or
early April, and it sounds like at this point it's personal.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
It sounds like each side is dug in.
Speaker 14 (48:41):
The Cowboys have come out and said what they said
publicly at the start of training camp, which Micah didn't like.
Micah came out and has to be traded, said he
was ready to move on from Dallas, which I'm sure
they didn't like. And right now both sides seem to
be angry now. Have all their people put those feelings
aside in the past and figured out a way to
(49:01):
work out a deal.
Speaker 3 (49:02):
Yeah, I don't see that happening here.
Speaker 14 (49:05):
I see these two sides headed towards a divorce in time.
The only question is when is that divorce going to
happen and how is it going to happen.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
Are they going to trade them now? Are they going
to trade them after this year? Are they going to
move on when, But it.
Speaker 14 (49:20):
Only doesn't feel like these two sides want to enter
a long term relationship together.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
So that sounds like some real fence riding to me though,
it sounds like some fence riding.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
I don't think that they're going to get a deal done,
but and the divorce is going to happen, but I
don't know if it's this year or next year or
the year after that, Like.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
Well, is it three years?
Speaker 7 (49:52):
But is it three years?
Speaker 9 (49:53):
Well no, because I don't know, no, because he's saying
he'll plan to the fifth year. And they franchise tag
them than they franchise tag him. Yeah, but that's long term.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
Whether they do a long term new extension or deal,
that's a different Whether they're rewarding him, awarding him what
he's worth, it is a different story. If they're not
getting rid of them, they're not getting rid of them, right,
But you're gonna have this conversation every single year for
the next few years if you go that route, as
opposed to this and really eventually leading to a breakout,
(50:27):
Like I would actually more compare it to like that
long term relationship you've been in it for a while,
like you're trying to figure out how to divorce.
Speaker 9 (50:35):
But it's it takes you a long time. That's what
he's I think alluding to. I mean, I think it's
if just this is just me.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
If you're going to come out with as strong an
opening statement as divorce, divorce is imminent, then then give
me something more than oh well maybe it could be
in three years, but it's going to happen, Like I
don't that's weird to me. I don't know, like that's
weird to me, Like it could happen, it could not happen.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
Like I'll put it this way, I think he put
his reputation out there on the line. To be honest
with you.
Speaker 9 (51:09):
You know, Adam Schefter is someone who is the you know,
best insider in the business.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
I think he put his reputation online.
Speaker 9 (51:16):
Now, look, there's been times where when I used to
work for a different channel.
Speaker 3 (51:20):
I remember we used to have him on and I.
Speaker 9 (51:23):
Remember him distinctly stating that he didn't think Adrian Peterson
what ever playing in the league, and I think he
got signed like two hours later while we're still on
our show. So I remember talking about that with my
co host, thinking, well, that didn't work. Out too well.
That was like a very big statement that backfired. So,
I mean, here's the deal. We don't know how far
(51:44):
they are away, as far whatever was offered in March,
April whatever. Very similar to Trey Hendrickson, they get too
close to the number he's looking for, he signs, he plays,
we're not talking about it anymore. It probably could be
the same way with Michael Parsons. It's not that difficult
to figure out what he's probably looking for, what those
numbers are.
Speaker 8 (52:02):
Who do you think Schefter spoke to It's parsons agent.
Speaker 5 (52:05):
Right, his agent.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
Yeah, I mean, I.
Speaker 8 (52:09):
Just I'm just trying to figure out what leverage Michaeh
Parsons and his agent have.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
The only leverage and and and Troy said it the
only leverage that had Goh I finished.
Speaker 8 (52:20):
I just like, if he doesn't play, he's not gonna
get paid again.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
I think the only leverage when you're you've already have signed,
and you're you're you're signed under a contract is that
the team has to value the fact that if they
don't have you, they're not going to win. It's the
only leverage you have. The best part of his leverage
is he's young, Like he's young, he's not. This is
(52:47):
not a Hendrickson situation. It's not a t. J. Watt situation.
Micah is young. So if he decides that, oh, well,
I'm not going to play, I wonder how far into
the season him not playing ways in on Dallas. If
(53:09):
Dallas is having success, then then his cards. I mean,
he's still gonna end up getting paid, but being able
to leverage Dallas that may be gone. But in terms
of what he's going to be worth, I don't think
he loses that value if he doesn't play. And to me,
I think that's the leverage. That is the leverage. I mean,
(53:30):
he's going to have to pay fines and all that stuff.
But if you're saying I'm digging in I want a
new contract and I'm not coming back until you give
me a new one, I'm not going to risk getting hurt.
I mean, I'll say this. It wouldn't be the first
time he sat out a season worked out for him
in college. He set out the COVID year, so he's
well versed on sitting.
Speaker 5 (53:50):
Out of season.
Speaker 8 (53:51):
Yeah, so don't play with that man.
Speaker 5 (53:55):
He will set out.
Speaker 9 (53:58):
And to your point, I don't think he's going to
lose the desire of any of these teams that would
potentially be trading for him. The only thing that hurts
Dallas in this case is the fact that they've waited
this long, you know, to get to this point where like,
let's say he gets traded, he's expecting a new contract.
He's not gonna show up. If he didn't show up
for Dallas, he's not gonna show up for someone else.
(54:19):
So you know, there could be a bounty of picks
someone's willing to give up because of his age, is talent,
his ability, but they've got to have the cap space
to do so. They have to feel comfortable with doing
it and making that long term commitment to him when
he hasn't really done anything for them. It's only the
upside of what they think he can do for them.
So this isn't one that you know, we can put
to bed anytime soon. By the way, speaking of putting
(54:41):
to bed, yeah, sleep starts with good a good mattress.
I trust the matches from Sleep Experts to find my
perfect mattress from their premium selection for the Great Sleep
You Deserve as a matches for him during the best
sale of the year.
Speaker 3 (54:52):
They make sleep easy.
Speaker 9 (54:53):
But I don't know that Jerry Jones is gonna be
go to sleep easy until this situation is rectified.
Speaker 3 (54:58):
I think they get a deal done.
Speaker 9 (55:00):
I think this is all fodder, you know, by week one,
week two, So the deal gets done.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
That's my bet on this thing. He's too good of
a player, not too.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
I mean, that's that's I kind of found it to
be strange that Schefter would come out with divorce imminent.
That that doesn't I mean, but and again, the reason
why I came to fence sitting. And maybe that's the
wrong term for it, but it's like, if it's a divorce,
then move on, right If you don't want to be
here anymore, you don't want to pay me to be
(55:30):
here anymore, then move on. How does it How does
it drag out into two three years out from now?
If the imminent divorce is taking place.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
Move on now?
Speaker 8 (55:42):
I mean, listen to Mike is your guy, Let's get
him on and ask him.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
I'm not getting involved in that.
Speaker 8 (55:48):
Let's FaceTime him on the air right now. I see,
I'm kidding.
Speaker 7 (55:52):
I was about to do it.
Speaker 8 (55:53):
Really, Then you get to tell him that he's on
the air, and then all.
Speaker 7 (55:57):
That, and yeah, I don't want to do that.
Speaker 5 (55:59):
Piss
