Speaker 2 (02:01):
Up for the next three hours. It's organized. So uh.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
So we uh in front of me. We are one
game in two week three of the NFL. How do
you feel about it? It is, well, they are who
we thought they were. Yeah, I don't look the first
game Miami lost to Indianapolis, and we'll start there. I
(02:32):
don't know, man, because the Colts are still winning. The
Colts haven't punted yet. They literally were not punted yet.
And so you look at the game last night and
it's like, man, Miami was competitive. There were opportunities there,
there was a chance there, and ultimately Buffalo figured it out.
But it was the interception by Tua late in the
game that a lot of people are going to look
(02:53):
at and go, all right, well that was the that's
the difference between him and everybody else. And it's like, well,
you know, so he made a mistake. But it's it's
not as if And when I look at the Dolphins,
I go, it's not as if they went into this
season and were like, all right.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
We're going for broke.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
All right, this is a you know, we're gonna we're
gonna empty the clip on this roster and we're gonna
we're gonna let everybody know that we mean business here.
Like they were making moves, they were you know, Jalen Ramsey,
like all sorts. They're kind of in a rebuild, and
so I'm watching last night, going there's still some pieces there.
(03:31):
I just don't think they're at a point now to
where they can compete against a Buffalo long term or
some of these other teams. And as you mentioned, it
just kind of is what it is with Miami. Yeah,
I think it is what it is with both teams.
I think I think in looking at the Buffalo Bills,
their defense was a little bit uh easy to access early.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
On in the game.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I think I thought that Miami had pretty good game
playing coming into it, and we're able to stay close,
We're able to make a game of it, and it
looked like a competitive matchup between divisional opponents. They you know,
Miami played, played pretty hard and it was it was
(04:17):
a It was an even game. I mean, it was
an even game. You gotta believe the second half, once
the adjustments were made, it was still a tight game.
They were able to put up more points later on
in the game. I mean, they put up ten while
Buffalo is on excuse me, while Miami was only able
to put up seven in the second half of the game.
(04:38):
So it it makes you wonder because when a team
is able to go into a hostile environment like Buffalo
and be able to play on a high enough scale.
Because you were recalled last week, Buffalo, who did they
demolished last week?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Somebody?
Speaker 4 (05:01):
A divisional opponent, right, yep. So now you got another
divisional opponent that that you have to play against, and
you're playing in my home. I would have thought that
if you said to me, would Buffalo beat Miami worse
than the way they beat the Jets? The way Miami
(05:21):
looked against Indianapolis, What would your answer have been. I mean,
the point spread said that they was going to get
that ass beat. Yeah, what was it thirteen and a
half or something like that and a half twelve? I
mean still geez yeah, splitting the hair right there, right
so to me for them to go in there and
they covered, you know what I mean, like they you
(05:43):
if you went with them with the Dolphins that you
know they covered.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
But I thought that they were much more.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
I came away from this loss not looking at Miami
as Okay, pack it up, the season's over. I came
away from this game saying that, Okay, this could be
a team that finds a way to start maybe getting
some victories. And they were close in this game against
(06:10):
probably a top three team in the league. So I
know it's never a good loss. There's never a way
to say there's a good loss. But I do believe
that the way that they operated and the way that
they were able to execute against Buffalo in Buffalo, if
(06:31):
you're a Miami Dolphins fan, it gave a little bit
of hope. It gave it gave a little bit of okay, like,
maybe we're not as bad as I thought we were
coming out of Week one. And if you're Buffalo, you
got to add Oliver on the sideline. You know you're
not at full strength, and add Oliver is a real
difference maker for this defense. If you notice, they were
(06:52):
able to move the ball at times by running Miami.
And I think that Buffalo defense has got to be better,
even if they have injuries. They got to be a
better unit. They got to be able to play better defense.
Otherwise they're going to their destined to repeat the same
same type of shortcomings that they've had in seasons past.
(07:14):
Like you know, Josh Allen can't do everything and shouldn't
have to do everything. Their offense shouldn't have to do everything,
so their defense is going to have to be a
little bit better. I mean, they pitched a shutout in
the third quarter. It just you know, it'd be interesting
to see, you know how that all plays out.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
When I watched Josh Allen play, now I look at
him and I go that, right there is another example
of you know, maybe we ought to practice a little
patience with some of these quarterbacks when they come into
the league. Because him as a rookie and him early
on in his career, he was a wild man. You
didn't know how the hell it was gonna go. I
(07:54):
remember we would joke on the air about it. It's like, man,
the great thing about Josh Allen is that it's either
going night it's nine, it's going ninety yards in one
direction or the other. Either he's thrown at ninety for
a touchdown or it's going to be a pick six
and taken to the house the other way. And you
just see the way he's in control and the way
that he plays now as opposed to when he was
I mean even his first couple of years you know,
(08:16):
in the NFL, and you look at how he is now. Man,
he's like, we're talking about a future Hall of Famer.
Like the way that this thing is shaping up, and
it's it's a long way to go super Bowl, you know,
the whole conversation around that. But I look at Josh
Allen and go, that's a product of give the guy
(08:36):
a little bit of patience, let the guy grow, have
some stability within your organization, which I think is the
big thing, and then ultimately you put him in a
better position to succeed.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
And that's what he's done.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Man.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
He's fantastic. He's really fun to watch. He played really well.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
He was very efficient and give give Buffalo's offensive line
a ton of credit as well. They open up holes,
they kept them clean in the pocket. James Cook was
able to have a well of a game. He looks
good if he can stay healthy, having that balance of
what he brings to the table. Josh Allen did not
(09:13):
have to run as much as I forecasted he would.
He would need to run, but I mean the running
game was was on point. James Cook was really really
able to get you know, integrated into the game, playing
very early. He had a lot of early success running
the ball, and they were able to ride that out.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
It just makes you wonder if if Miami's.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Defense was was stout enough to be able to stop
the run, you know, maybe that game might have had
a different outcome. And that almost seems to me as though,
if you can figure out what happened against the run,
if I'm the Miami Dolphins defense, I'm that defense staff today,
I was probably watching that last evening. If I'm a
(09:58):
defense of staff member on that team, how where do
we go wrong against the run? Because everybody is so
so committed to talking about how it's become a pass
first league and be able to cover the pass and
be able to pass past pass.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Well, they were able.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
I mean Josh Allen was able to get off in
in the you know, in the passing game. But I
mean it was it was totally set up by how
dominant that offensive line was and what they were able
to do with the running again running attack. You know
it just it seems like this is a very very
well balanced team and maybe the only thing that they
(10:39):
have to concern themselves with is can their defense be consistent? Yeah,
that might be the biggest question that they have. The answer, No,
you want to hear from your guy, Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Mike McDaniel, the head coach, that's you know, yet, you
got people out there. I definitely wasn't one of them
thrown out the idea that if this goes really poorly
for them on Thursday night football, are we're talking about
a coaching change the next day?
Speaker 4 (11:06):
We are not.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yet. They were competitive.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
The two interception later on with about three minutes left
was critical, But here was Mike McDaniel, the head coach
of the Miami Dolphins, talking post.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Game frustration that turns to focus. I would say that
I'm very focused and motivated to continue eliminating things that
cost us games. And you know, you have a young team,
a lot of people that you're counting on and you
need them to not be young for very much longer
(11:39):
and continue to grow. But the it's I would say
focus because you know, I know I have a locker
room that is all in to growth. Through the process,
you know, there's some tough, tough lessons, are tough things
you have to deal with the National Ball League.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
So there's your guy, Mike McDaniel. Well, he's pretty good.
I think he's in almost an impossible spot. And there's
other coaches that are in similar spots. You know, whether
you want to say Brian dave Ball, you know, pick
a coach. You can go around the NFL and just say, well,
(12:22):
there's certain coaches that you know going into this, Brian
Callahan and Tennessee the it feels like the writing is
on the wall. It feels like the discussions are already
so loud that, barring an incredible playoff run, that the
Dolphins are going to be looking in another direction next year.
(12:43):
And he wasn't given the best opportunity to succeed with
the roster based on the moves that they had to make.
There's still conversations maybe they're going to trade Tyreek Hill.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
That whole thing's going on. That's not a Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
And then you've got all the rumblings and reports out
there of going into the season, how he handled the
locker room. He didn't put his foot down enough. He
started to lose the locker room. You've got an assistant there,
and you know with the defensive coordinator there that people
look at and go, oh, well, well, you know, he
could be he could be the next guy in waiting.
(13:18):
He could be a head coaching candidate. It just feels
like Mike McDaniel's in a spot to where you know,
you're just trying to survive and and you don't exactly
have the roster of the horses to go against a
team like Buffalo. You'll get competitive, but ultimately in the
end you're just going to succumb to the pressure. And
I just I don't know how this ends. They're own three.
(13:41):
The odds would indicate they're not going to make the playoffs.
They've got, you know, they've got the Jets, the Panthers,
and the Chargers next. Maybe they could go too and one.
All right, maybe they could go two and one in
that stretch and then they've got Cleveland afterwards. But I
just don't see them making the postseason. And if they're
not making the postseason, I think the conversation is going
to come back around to what have we gotten done
(14:03):
with him as head coach? And then we're having another
discussion on Black Monday after the season is over, where
the Dolphins are going in another direction, and I it
just it feels like he's been putting that spot already.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
And he's got an entire year to go.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
They are all valid points you make. Tua has to
be better. You asked, what do you have to show
for it? You were brought in to help Tua become
a better player. In the initial he did. He did
make toua a better player. I think Tua has to
(14:37):
play better. If if they're going to move forward, if
Mike Mike McDaniel is going to move forward forward, if
Tua is going to move forward and some of these
other players on this roster are going to move forward
with this, this this franchise, Tua is going to have
(14:58):
to play better. So you take those two major elements,
the two major elements that have to take place in
order for this season to not be a miss a
punt is that the defense has to tighten up. They
got to play better. I mean, they weren't horribly bad,
but giving up ten points while you're in the game,
(15:22):
sudden change, I get it. But the defense has got
to the defense. Ha's gotta do what they need to
do to make sure that they can sustain if the
offense is able to get on track and the offense
has to go through Tua.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
I mean, there was not.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Very much production in the passing game last evening, very
very dry, very very bland. You're just not going to
win very many games that way. And so whatever it
is that they did with Tua early on when he
was cooking and they were having good things take place
(16:02):
for them, they're going to have to get back to
being a little bit more aggressive on how they approached
their game plan because that wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
That wasn't it last night.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
And if Tua does not play better, then I think
the things that you're talking about do become real, a
real scenario that plays out. But it's riding on his shoulder.
He was you know, the coach was brought in to
make him better he initially did. I think it's still early,
maybe too just a tap bit too early right now
(16:34):
to tell if they can turn it around the way
that they need to and have a productive year. If
they don't, I think the handwriting, as you mentioned, is
on the wall. If they do, then that becomes a
more interesting conversation than the idea of knowing where this
team looks to be heading to right now.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
TUIs concussions changed the entire course of the organization. Entire
course of the organisation changed because of his concussions, because
if he's available, if he's if he's ready to go,
if he's out there, you know, they're they're you know,
record and the numbers with him in the lineup as
opposed to not in the lineup are drastically different.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
And him going out with those concussions.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
I mean, look, people forget they went into Buffalo and
were really competitive in a playoff game a couple of
years ago, and I think Skyler Thompson was their quarterback
because Tua couldn't stay healthy. I think you look at
that and you go his health completely changed how we
feel about Mike McDaniel now and how we felt about
him back then. But because the thought was he was
(17:39):
one of these next, you know, bright, young, offensive minded
guys who was going to step in from the Kyle
Shanahan tree. And they were he was going to make this,
you know, to a player, and he did, and he
got him paid and all of that was good and well,
but then Tua started getting injured and it was a
completely different team.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
It looks different, it looks different now. It doesn't look
the same. No, so but that's something that they got
to get through. There's no there's no excuses for it.
He's still the quarterback. He's still your starting quarterback. As
he mentioned, he doesn't hear the noise, so he doesn't
he doesn't pay attention to what's being said and what
he's hearing. So maybe that could be to their advantage
(18:16):
that that Tua isn't going to hear the noise or
isn't going to see what's being said, and he's just
going to continue to plug away. But he's going to
have to plug away a whole lot more efficiently and
effectively than what he did last evening.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
I mean plug you know, at least they're in Miami.
There's something you know, you can always get away and uh.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Well that's what you guys said. That's why it's okay
losing there. Huh like, hey, you know, see you at
the beach.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Or checks still clear? I mean listen, they clear, get paid,
you know, take a walk, you get a long weekend.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
I mean your college team is doing well. Yeah, that's true.
It's always there's always that. It's not all uh not
all gone there for for Miami, it.
Speaker 3 (18:53):

Yes?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
All right, so he was right reminded me of it. Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
He texted me last night after he had had like
fifteen IPAs winner.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
And was like, because it's a badass show, he.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Goes Chiel LaVar randomly was talking about singing. I'm a
simple kind of man. I bet it's because he's watching
Terminalist Dark Wolf on Amazon Prime.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
He says, it's a great show, bad as show.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
So that's uh yeah, and that's why I had me
like in a type of way, like like them cats
was going in, was going in.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Like I have no idea what show that is. I
have no clue.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
I got a few frogmen that are my people, man,
a few of them. You know on the Patrons some
money show they do Frogman Friday. They yeah, that's their
their Friday theme.
Speaker 2 (21:25):

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Frogmen that are my guys, like real life, real life
badass dudes. Man shouts out to my guys, man, bad
man majamas.

the Internet. I mean, yeah, that that too. And it
is football Friday.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
I just want to point that out here, like I
do want to point that out. I think it's important
for everybody to know we missed this last Come on.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
You.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Get resist, all right, come on, let's do it, Freddy.
Let's do it for Eddie. Come on, let's do it, Freddy.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
That's all the reason Friday Night is a football Friday.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Football Friday Rock so Scot you can feel it. It's
a football Friday year of the show.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
We missed it last hour because we were breaking down
the scinilating performance of the Miami Dolphins only losing by ten,
only losing by ten to the Buffalo Bills last night. Yeah,
it's unfortunate, but you know, is what it is riverside.
And now we move all the way on over to
another conversation that apparently involving somebody else who's got a
(23:29):
rich history in the AFC East. Apparently this is a
story that's not going away anytime soon. And that's something
is the Tom Brady conflict of interest speculation from people
around the NFL, and somebody else has weighed on the discussion,
and that's somebody is Antonio Pierce your guy. AP former
(23:52):
Raiders head coach was talking with Adam Shine on Sirius
XM about the Tom Brady situation and had this to say,
I think.
Speaker 9 (24:02):
I would be uncomfortable if there's an other way around
to be honest with you, because you're not dealing with
just a normal person. Tom Brady is the elite of elite,
one of the greatest quarterbacks. When the greatest players in
the game he played against, the honesty student of the game.
It's not hard for him to watch a few things
on a Friday practice or hear things in the production
meets and be like h and have tidbits, and you'd
(24:22):
be foolish enough to think that he does not want
to share that Avaca wagis because we had those conversations
about certain things, right, and he was very informative about
things that he knew or he felt. And that's why
you bringing a guy like Tom Brady is the organization
to be a minority owner because he gives you those
aspects and different insights because some people can't give you.
So how I would take it, I would be I
would be nervous. I think I'll be tight lift, which
(24:45):
I think most most head coaching are. When they go
on production meetings, they watch it. I think on Friday,
if he happens to be there on a Friday practice,
you might want to limit some things. I just think
that's the fact that I think everybody gonna give you
the political answers and say, oh, it's no big deal.
I called.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
So that was Antonio Pierce on the Tom Brady situation.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah. I was on the phone with him yesterday. We
had a good conversation.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Yeah, and this came up, and I thought it was
some interesting perspective. And I mean he's right. I mean
I feel like we kind of already touched on it.
It's just really stating the obvious and just continue to
state the obvious.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
He can pick up.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
I mean, anybody who's been a consonmate, pro, been around
the game and is meticulous about what they're doing would
be able to pick up on certain things being in
the environment of their opponent.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
And so.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
I heard somebody say, like things were so bad at
one point in time that security was sweeping the hotel
for all kinds of different things, to make sure that
the rooms that they were staying in were to make
sure the meeting rooms that they were staying in were clean,
to make sure where they were eating was clean.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
All the Patriots when Brady was there.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
I mean, I ain't gonna say nothing and specific. I'm
just saying, yes, those things were taking place where people
were sweeping the hotel making sure that there weren't things
that were like just speaking, you know, like randomly just
your conversation is going into somebody's ears.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
That is correct.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
So after Spygate there was all sorts of paranoia.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Yeah, So and when you're that good, the question always
is going to pop up, how are you that good?
That much better for so long? How are you how
are you able to sustain that for so long?
Speaker 2 (26:54):
There are cheat codes?
Speaker 4 (26:56):
There are one hundred real life cheat codes, and it's
just a matter of how deep and how far are
you willing to go to uncover them and have them
in your possession. I think it's very And listen, AP
played against you know, he was the captain of that
team that beat the first Tom Brady, the Giants that
(27:18):
beat Tom Brady and the Patriots one hundred percent. He's
looking at it from the understanding and the knowledge of
what they felt when they were going against the Patriots.
So when you think about the respect that you would
have to have for first, first of all, we all
(27:40):
know how good he is. We know what he's accomplished
to hear someone of AP's. You know his background and
his knowledge. He's one of the most football intelligent dudes
I've ever known in my entire life.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
And for him to sit.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
There and talk about how cerebral and how intelligent Tom
Brady is, he wouldn't be in the situations he's in now.
He wouldn't be working for Fox, he wouldn't be the
minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. He just would
not be in the positions that he's in right now.
If he wasn't a super, super uberly intelligent man, he
(28:19):
just wouldn't. And so the fact that he is should
call call for concern. I mean, the man is a
minority owner of a team that is within the league
of which he's covering. I mean, didn't we have a
situation like that with Magic. Wasn't Magic calling games and
(28:40):
the owner and something to that effect. I feel like
that that took place. He became an owner, but he
was still calling games. May I could be he's done
just about everything he does. He has done everything. Anyway,
I digress, But I just think for AP to have
a strong opinion on it, first of all, you probably
probably should listen because he's you know, he would know
(29:03):
if anybody would know, he would know. And secondly, it
makes for interesting conversation because again it comes back to
the question of why was this able to happen, Why
is it able to Why are you continuing on with it?
I think that's the biggest question. Somebody needed to kind
of say, Nope, we can't do that. Yeah, And I
(29:25):
don't know which side it is, but somebody should have
been like, hey, look here, man, we're going to grant
you the opportunity to get this minority stake ownership, but
you do know you gotta let the booth go or
the booth has got to say to protect the integrity
of what we do. You know, I know you want
(29:47):
to be an owner over here, but can't you wait
a little while longer? Can't you just run this deal
first before you purchase that team? Like somebody the more
I'm continuing to hear about it because he's like one
thing that people aren't taking into consideration. Like, Okay, he
goes out and he watches a practice. What if somebody
that's like, what if your injury report doesn't match matchup?
(30:12):
You know, you got a guy like he's he's probable
or you know, game time decision stuff like that. And
Tom Brady comes in and this is a team that
the Raiders are going to play in like a week
or two or something to that effect.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
That could play out, and he.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
Sees the dude, and the dude is like, yeah, he
ain't going to be back in two weeks. Dude, ain't
going to be back in three weeks. Ain't no way,
not the way he's moving. Like stuff like just little
things that you can see you can take in intaeil
with your own two eyes in person. It just seems
it just seems to be a conversation that you know,
(30:49):
what if you caught somebody arguing, you know, dudes are fighting.
What if you saw Tua and and Tyreek Hill and
the like they had to break him up or something
like that, you know, well, anything could play out, and
those things that play out behind closed doors you'd like
to try to keep them behind closed doors.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Anything could play out.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
What Antonio Pierce said, He's probably right. Yeah, I would
be concerned. I would be nervous. The concerns for people
around the NFL, You're probably right, those are warranted. You know,
maybe you should be concerned or you you know, there's
the possibility of all this happening.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Also tough balls, it's too late.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
You already let it go down the road. It's already
off the Sorry, it's too late. You can't go back now.
And then say, oh, well, wait a second. Upon further review,
this isn't the greatest idea in the world. Like, this
is my problem with people that complain about gambling being
involved in sports now and then these issues popping up
(31:49):
of these kids in college or NFL players wagering on games,
Calvin Ridley and his seven leg parlay.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
This is my problem with it all.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
You didn't think that if you involve that in your
sport you might have some issues. You didn't realize in
the long run, Hey, maybe there'll be some stuff that's
gonna pop up that we're going to have to address.
And now when people come back and say, oh, Michael,
well why is gambling involved in sports anyways? I mean,
why are they involved anyways? If this stuff's going to
(32:19):
pop up. Okay, well, those are all fair conversations that
should have happened years ago, or in this case, months
ago with Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
All of this is fair.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
The paranoia everybody wondering whether it's to the level that
it's gonna happen, or whether Tom Brady, you know, coaches
being tight lift and how much information he could got
there is the potential of it happening, which should have
been the thought from the get go.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Now, after the fact, it's too late.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
He's already there, he's already calling games, he's already in
the booth, he already has access. They've relaxed the restrictions
on it that we talked about earlier this week. You
can't go back now and then say, well, this is
a terrible idea. Dude, you're already on the roller coaster
going down the tracks. God, I don't think I want
to be on here anymore. Tough balls, you're already buckled up.
(33:10):
If you're gonna throw up aim at somebody you don't like.
I don't like this whole outrage that everybody's talking but
that's it's a bad look for the league and it's
terror Well, yeah, like, for sure, why didn't you speak
up a year and a half ago? And whether out
what Albert Breer said yesterday, which is what you know,
I thought was kind of interesting. Albert Preer basically said, look, man,
(33:36):
ESPN wanted in the rotation for the Super Bowl, which
is why they went out and got Troy Aikman and
Joe Buck because because the NFL told ESPN the production
you're putting together isn't big enough for the Super Bowl.
You need to get bigger stars. And Fox was like, okay,
how's Tom Brady biggest one? I mean, like, okay, it's
(33:59):
like the old the old Roddy Piper quote where he said,
don't throw rocks at a guy who's got a machine gun.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Fox is like, okay, interesting, We're gonna.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Go ahead and get ourselves a machine gun and it's
gonna be Tom Brady. And all of this conversation afterwards
is irrelevant now because he's already in the building.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
He's already there.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
You somebody should have stepped up if they had concerns
back in the day, and there were people that were
talking about it and said, hey, we don't think this
is a good idea.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
We just we just don't think it's a good idea.
And so to now afterwards people.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Like god, the wolf in the henhouse, huh, wolf, wolf
in the sheep, in the passion.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
All of it's and everybody knows is you've been around football.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
As long as anybody.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Our coaches not paranoid, oh crazy people, So of course
they're gonna be paranoid about this, of course, But now
afterwards everyone's like, God, this, who would have thunk it?
Coaches are worried about whether or not Tom Brady's giving
information to the team that he owns when he's calling games.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Well, yeah, that's how this works.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
So I just I don't know, man, I feel like
there's a lot of people that want to try and
do work that they should have now that they should
have done years ago.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
That's what it seems like to me. I still think
it's a little overstated, though. I mean, at the end
of the day, you got Jimmy's and Joe's x'es and O's. Yeah,
the Raiders are terrible, Okay. I mean, now I will
say this, if he's using that influence and you start
seeing because we heard about that taking place this past
(35:31):
offseason didn't necessarily work out the way that he had
hoped for when we were looking at, uh, what wasn't
Matthew Stafford a couple other guys. I think that he
had bump they were pumped into. They bumped into, So
it wasn't tampering. They just happened to be at the
same ski lodge or something like that in like Montana
or Wyoming or something like that. Yeah, you know, just
(35:55):
you know how the elites just kind of hang out
in the same places. But that would be what I
would be if you're asking me if I were a
coach and I'm like, huh, or even if I am
a GM or I am a owner of a franchise.
All of the x's and o's aside, The biggest concern
(36:18):
I would have is the Tom Brady aura, the Tom
Brady impact and effect. He comes walking in and it's
like right, and he knows it too, and he knows it.
So you got all these dudes, their eyes is popping
out their heads, like, yo, there's Tom Brady. I remember
(36:44):
the first time I saw Lawrence Taylor walk up, bro.
I was at the Pro Bowl and I was like,
that can't be.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
This just.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
This just can't be. Look, he's getting closer on everything.
I believe on the inside of me, I believe this
is Lawrence Taylor. That's walking towards me.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
That's no way.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
No, he's getting closer, and he looks more and more
like Lawrence. It's Lawrence Taylor. Now think about this coincidentally?
Maybe I don't know. I don't know if my mind
knew it or whatever. I finished out my career as
a New York giant. I'm just saying the influence and
(37:32):
the impact that heroes have on people, and Tom Brady
is a hero to a lot of dudes. That would
be what makes me nervous, because now I gotta deal
with if this dude is saying, I'm Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Oh yeah, this is Las Vegas.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
Come here and play for Let's make the Raiders great
again in Vegas.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
Oh you don't think there were people paranoid that Deon
took the Colorado job.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Come on? Based on recruiting.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
He could walk into any kid's house and be like,
I'm Deon San.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
And he gets them yes, and he's getting them like yeah,
and he and he's not going into houses. He don't
even have to leave to go on the road. He
doesn't go into the houses. He says, come to Dion's house,
come be a primetime player.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
I'm going, yeah, No, that the the hero worshiping that
I that I could. I totally see, I totally see.
I also look, you know there there is there is
a reality to it that, like you know, he and
and maybe they were using him as leverage and Ben
Johnson had already picked his spot, but there was the
thought that Ben Johnson was going to be their head coach.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
That was that Tom Brady and Ben Johnson. That's what
it was.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
And so like you know, some of this stuff ultimately
doesn't work out. But I look at it and I go, yeah,
all of it makes sense.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
All of it.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
His influence, his impact, the role he would play sometimes,
all of it makes sense.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Give it some time to me knowing him.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
I don't know him in this part of life, but
know him from the earlier days. And the dude is
strategically sound. So knowing that, like, Okay, you're looking here
and this is the obvious. You're not going to get
that from me, but y'all going to talk about it.
That is the the that is the diversion. It's a
(39:30):
diverting of the energy. We're talking about competitive edges and
stuff like this. Nah, it's his influence.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
He's got so many business ventures going on that people
don't eat, like, don't even and just like little nooks
and crannies, like little little places where he opened up
a sports card shop right next to Wrigleyfield in Chicago,
Like what does he have to do with Chicago? Nothing
(39:56):
until now, Like he's got you know, the F one stuff,
like all of these little businesses, these little opportunities, the
you know, the the No Bowl like on all of
that stuff like his he has planted seeds everywhere that
are gonna start to sprout at some point and it
might turn into the Raiders be in a dynasty, and
(40:17):
I think it's gonna be hilarious.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
That's when.
Speaker 4 (40:21):
But that's when this conversation is going to be wow. Like, man,
he really did turn the Raiders around.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
That's that said.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
The concern people have about this weekend's game, he's calling
the Cowboys and Bears, and the Raiders are playing the
Bears next week.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
I got news for you.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
Tom Brady could take a nap during that game and
the Raiders could still beat the Bears.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Okay, yeah, but.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
The Bears could beat the Raiders with Tom Brady taking
What are we talking about? You go on bum right,
he's gonna say that it's bum fight, remember bum fights? Fun.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
A couple of hobos thrown down next to it, next
to get intent. Hey that's my shopping cart. No it's mine. No,
actually it's ours, And the guy from Walmart comes out
and takes it back. It's just great, all right, well yeah, yeah,
there's always that
