Speaker 2 (01:35):
All right, yeah, var come on, Senbace, what what up?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Stick?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
What up?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
What?
Speaker 3 (01:43):
What up? What up?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Suck?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Cut up?
Speaker 5 (01:46):
What do you feel from Harrisburg?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
That's good man.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah, little East riscoutside, a little little East coast weather too.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Fall out there for you Southern Californians. It's it happened
in like a week like eighties and then it just
dropped down all of a sudden where it's like fall weather.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yeah, it didn't like the feeling of it. When I
came out of the restaurant last evening to hotel room.
You're a Pittsburgh guy, Yeah, I am. I'm just not now,
you know I'm from there. I claim from there, not
not I am there. You know, Yeah, I don't know.
It's cold, man.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah. Man.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
I went from you know, very nice and bright outside
and nice weather and kid is in the pool and
stuff like that to you know, I got a bundle up,
you know, life of the privileged. You know, at least
I guess some of us on the West Coast privilege.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Are the Giants privileged to win last night? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
I mean you know, like, well, I was gonna say,
I looked at that game. I thought there's one of
three thoughts here. Either the Giants, the youth movement it's working,
Eagles offensive struggles are now really revealing themselves. Or is
this just just a divisional matchup? Like this this stuff happens.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Like you all build, I mean, every we know this.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
You build your team to beat your divisional opponents when
your division go to the playoffs. Is that more what
this is about?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Maybe? You know.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
My biggest takeaway was I think day Ball has a
stunt double on the sideline. Like I don't know, but
when Dark got hurt, there were guys going over to
the tent, and I thought I saw day Ball, and
then I was like, wait, that's not day Ball.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
And then I saw Dave Ball come over.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
And I was like, wait, these two guys are standing
right next to each other. Are they twins? Does day
Ball have a twin brother that's on the coaching staff
that we do not know about?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I was confused.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
That was my biggest take away from that game. I
got to tell you, I don't know, but I was
glad that Jackson Dark came out okay, because your boy
Russell Wilson got in there and did What the hell
was that with the pass and the opportunity that he
got when he got in there.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Now, granted, I know he was probably cold.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
I know, I know. You gotta you know, you gotta
account for the fact that he has to find his
flow and his rhythm in the game for you want
to really judge him. But what the hell you couldn't
have thought of a better pass to happen to take
place in your triumphant moment of coming back when Jackson
(04:30):
Dart went down. That was what you gave us on
third down? Shsh I don't know, man, I don't know.
Q your boy, your cue your boy. Q. I just
don't know. Q. I don't know, man, it could be
a tough und to be in.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Tell you well, it's a tough spot for him to
be in. It's a rap with Brian Dable. I mean, look,
I've been around Davis.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
I know how he is. He's given up on Russell's.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
It's very apparent he's gonna go with Jackson Dart and
then Jackson Dart's gonna hit a rough and he's gonna
kind of get sour on him. It's it's it's a
tale as old as time's. That's how he operates. So
we will see how this thing continues. Clearly, what they've
found is they've found a run game. They've found a physicality,
they found an identity. That's what this team hasn't really had.
(05:18):
And I'm curious to get Jonas' take on this because
it's been kind of quiet so far.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
I just I don't know how long this lasts.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
You saw Jackson Dark go in the concussion tent or
getting evaluated for a concussion, and it's what a few
games into this thing, and that's.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Kind of how he plays.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
So if Brian Dabole wants to have any shot at
continuing to win games, he better have another optional quarterback,
and whether it's Russell wils or Jamis Winston, because how
he's playing this young man in Jackson Dart, He's going
to get hurt.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Like the Bash brothers. It's cool and all until he
get knocked out of the game.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
And so his emotions and all that and how he
acted to me, I literally watched that. You do the
head coach, be a man like you need to make
sure like if this happens again, because the way you're coaching,
this way you're calling it, it's gonna happen again. You
better be ready for that next guy to step in.
You better not be whining over there to the team
(06:15):
doctor about figuring this out looking like a little bit
on the side, like like I had to put it
that way, but well maybe it was a stunt double,
but I'm just saying, like, you're the head coach, you
can't be acting like that.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
My thought watching that game was, you know, it's fun.
This is really fun Jackson, Like there is an energy,
there's a new there's something, there's some juice as they
call it, that's been you know, kind of infused into
what the giants needed, and there's a vibe there in
the stadium like you got camp Skataboo and he's a
(06:50):
maniac and he's doing flips and he's doing Survey's surfing
and then Jackson Darts out there willing and dealing. They're
not good and it's not gonna last, but it's fun.
And I don't know Brian dave Ball's reaction afterwards, like
just it just feels like something. It's almost like insanity.
When insanity was around, it didn't last for long. You
(07:13):
just enjoyed it while you had it, and you were like,
all right, well, it's probably not gonna There's there's no
real staying power here. But at least they've got it
while they've got it, and it's in New York and
there's some buzz and some juice back in the building.
But I just, yeah, I don't know how long this
goes because neither guy plays a style that you look
at and go all right, that's okay. Anthony Richardson couldn't
hold up and what's the what's the discrepancy on and
(07:36):
of the tail of the tape between Anthony Richardson and
Jackson Dart from a physical so I don't know. I
don't know how that lasts. And camp scataboo, I don't
think cares. I really don't think he cares. Like he's
the white Craig ironhead. Hayward is what he is, and
he's gonna go after it. He does, and he does
(07:57):
not care like you reckless.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Worry about looking for him. He's come looking for you.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Man, Dave Ball. By the way, I was asked about
the exchange with the doctor afterwards and his reaction, and
it sounded like this, Brian Daball, have you.
Speaker 6 (08:13):
Ever been on an NFL sideline. There's a lot of emotions.
I know, I was asked about gloves the other day.
There's a lot of emotions, and I certainly am an
emotional guy. I apologized directly to our team physician. I
just wanted his ass out there if he was okay,
but I wanted to process like we were getting ready
to go for it on potential for it down. I
would have burned a time out if he could have
(08:34):
came out there. So I was asking how long is
it gonna take? So again, you want your guy out there,
not at risk of anything else. But you know, he
came out and I think he's gonna be good. I'm like,
is he gonna be good or I'm gonna call time out?
I'm fourth down and go for the summer, you know
what I mean. So I love our doctors and pat
(08:56):
I'm sure you're gonna ask me about that, so I'll
just give you the answer.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
I apologize ho was in the.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
So there's your guy, Brian Davis.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Well there you go.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Hope he doesn't think about it.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
That's again, that's kind of more the statuses you apologize
later about it.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Have we gotten that soft?
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Maybe he gets fined fifty grand for talking to the
doctor that way too too.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
You know what's interesting about this is this game was
really emotional. Can and I kind of gave you guys
the backstory between Brian Dabele and Nick Sirianni, who have
coached together before. They know each other well, but they're
also like brothers who are kind of trying to take
each other off. I mean the Jalen Hurts rushing touchdown
where they ran the touch push what six times?
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Whatever it was.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I mean that in and of itself was purely Nick
Sirianni trying to get under the skin of Brian Dabele.
It wasn't schematic. They're gonna score in a variety of ways.
They they wanted. He wanted to do that. He wanted
to keep doing the touch push until they scored, just
to tick off Brian Dable.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
I swear to God, that's how these guys are.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Like.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
There's so many I wish I could go through. I
remember one time we were playing in Denver. All right,
so Eric Manja's head coach and Brian Dables are off
its coordinator. Josh Matangels is the head coach of the
Broncos at the time, and this is when they got
off and they're like six and a really hot start.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
They beat New England and they just they were like.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
On fire those first six weeks of the season and
then they did have a really good team. But we
were trying to catch them like all game, substituting, like
catching them off guard. And it was like almost like
they get extra Brownie points if they were able to
find a way of like getting them catching them at
like their own game, like they I think they did
in New England. And I remember one time we got
(10:43):
caught where we were trying to like run up to
run a play quick and so our lineman cut is
split and then we end up having to check out
of it, and so now he was in an impossible
position to try to block Elvis Duomerville. And it was
It's like this was the kind of stuff that would
on sometimes. Yeah, but again that whole sequence was purely
(11:08):
because those two have a red ass for each other.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Dang, do y'all think there's any correlation between the Phillies
and the Eagles? Is it? Is it safe to say
now that the Phillies are officially gone from this year's season,
that now the Eagles are released from them and are
a because I gotta tell you all three of my
(11:33):
all three p A teams, which I mean there's Pittsburgh,
but all three active teams, which you know obviously you
connect the Eagles to the you know, to the Phillies.
But Penn State lost too last week. It was a
three for it was it was a trifector. It was
a hat trick. Isn't a hat trick? Three?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (11:55):
I'm scared to death for our game this weekend. I'm
scared to death. I don't want to. I don't want
too in a row. I do not want I do
not want to in a row. I do believe that
the Eagles will be better moving forward now that the
Phillies are done.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
I mean, if it makes you feel only better. The
Flyers are own one on the year too. Dang, dang, dang.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
I'm just I'm just I'm shocked. I'm surprised. I can't
believe Jalen Hurts. Like Jalen Hurts gets a lot of support,
Jalen Hurts gets a lot of scrutiny and criticism.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
That interception that that throw.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
His game last night was not one of his shining moments.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Man.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
I will say that, like I have, I tend to
be a more of a he knows how to win.
And we've talked about this. He that you know, this
team finds ways to win, and they've been skating like
there's at least maybe two losses that they should have
based upon the way they played versus the way that
(12:59):
they finished the game. They were able to finish the games.
They were able to figure out a way to win
and it happened, but it was to no real doing
of Jalen Hurts. And I just wonder, I just wonder.
I said that the Kansas City Chiefs, they do not
walk around with that aura anymore. They don't have the mistique.
(13:20):
Now they may be a better team than what they
were last year. This may be probably the most talented
team when everybody's healthy, that the Kansas City Chiefs have
had in quite some time. Now.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
I don't think Kelsey is still the same Kelsey, but.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Nonetheless this is still a really good football team in
terms of talent wise, and they should be able to
get to that point of where they were at when
they started their their you know, their reign of dominance.
I just wonder the league is not looking at any
one team as you're the team. There's no team that
(13:57):
has established themselves. There's usually one or two teams that,
maybe Buffalo, but even Buffalo has struggled.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
They have hen off the Colts.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
They have even had to fight, not not like crazy crazy,
dominant like and I would say.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
Just cast them blow out Las Vegas. They blow out a.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
Cop I'll say, And looking at the Colts, that's a
like you got we got to see how that plays out.
Just based upon everything that has been connected to them,
I don't know that they're a dominant.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Team on and off the field.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Dang well, yeah, well you know how that goes.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
I'm just saying, you come to Indian Appolis, you better
better buffet get ready for that.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Jalen Hurts Steel because yeah, last night, I mean, at
times you see the offense that's able to go and look,
there's a lot of things that are playing a factor
right now. You know, they've got a new offensive coordinator.
That's part of this too, because they've played enough games
where teams have an idea of what they're trying to
(15:03):
do and how they can try to take it away
or at least the personality of this coordinator versus what
it's been in the past, So there's elements of that.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Hurts did not play well.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
I mean, you know, he doesn't turn the football over,
so he always gives this team a chance to win
because they are so talented. They do have so many
pieces that can you know, win in a tight game
or just be more supremely talented than their opponent win
more often than not. I mean, he threw his second
pick of what fifteen games something like that was his
(15:37):
first pick all year. So like, he plays this style
of football to your point, that's maybe you'd say conservative,
and look, it's it's fine for now, it's good enough
to get them into the playoffs, and honestly, it's good
enough to win a super Bowl. They won a Super
Bowl last year. But if we're being honest with ourselves,
he misses throws, he misses reads. He leaves a lot
(15:59):
to be desired in the passing game.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
You know.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
I really felt like when he got in the NFL
and from his time from Alabama and Oklahoma, Oklahoma and Philly,
he continued to develop. I think we've now hit a
bit of a wall in his development as a passer.
And I don't know, And again it could be a
lot to do with what keeps changing, you know, for
his coordinator and a lot of out around him.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
But when you have.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
DeVante Smith and a J. Brown, those guys should be
going off on a weekly basis. Like It's just I
don't know if it's a play calling situation where they're
not finding ways to get those guys the ball.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
I don't know if it's a Jalen Hurts deal.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
I mean, obviously he missed Smith on the one long
throw last night where he was white ass open. I
mean that's a touchdown. So there's just there's too many
times you watch it and just go, yeah, he should
hit that. Yeah, he should have thrown that. And I
can understand the frustration of the receivers because now you're
talking about a standalone game Thursday night football Divisional opponent,
(16:57):
big game, and like they're not. I mean, Smith wasn't
targeted that much in the first place. But when you
get that one opportunity and you miss it and it's
a layup, it kills you. It should be keeping Jalen
Hurts awake right now. I just I feel like that's
the Achille Seal right now of this offense, maybe of
this team.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
So on the subject of the coordinator change, you know,
obviously it's a second time this has happened. What third
time this has happened? Now a third different coordinator because
you know they after steich and left, they hired somebody
that didn't work now Callen Moore left. Now they've hired
somebody else. Like, so, coordinator change, I get it, But
(17:38):
is there anything to the fact that Baker Mayfield's also
had a bunch of coordinator changes and it doesn't seem
like his play is dipped at all, Like he just
keeps seemingly getting better and better over the past couple
of years. Whether it's Canalis or Liam Cohen, like it's
the same Baker Mayfield you're gonna get. And the offense
looks like it hasn't skipped to beat and to your
(17:59):
point of they've got all those weapons on the outside,
I don't know, man, it just doesn't look. It's tough
to want.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
You should be able to do more.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
You should be able to do more when you have
that type of talent and they're loading, not to mention,
they're loading up to stop Saquon. It is first priority.
Stop Saquon Barkley. Stop Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Never left. The Giants should have never left.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
They should have never not got him that got dang record.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Should have taken that deal, he should have took the record.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
You know, I was just thinking they should have left
him in so you could try to get that record.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
You know what, Q, I agree with you.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
You know we don't always agree, but I'll tell you what, boy,
that might be the best point you've made since we
started doing this show. God dang God, Lee, well that
pure unintultrated genius just now.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Well, that would depend speed depends depends on the Prostate
Cancer Foundation.
Speaker 5 (19:01):
Hell is a long game.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Screening for prostate cancer is easier than ever, in fact,
easier than computing a wide open past.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
DeVante Smith.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
The simple blood tests lead to better treatment options, better outcomes.
Speaker 5 (19:12):

Speaker 1 (19:14):
By the way, he's really rocking. That is it a
chef's hat? That what's that hat he's got on? Jalen
Hurds after the game? He's got that kangle is it?
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Yeah, it's kind of like one of them.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
I didn't see what he wore after the game, but
I would assume it's like one of those those type hats,
you know, like how it like the.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Showing what is it shown? It's shown? Whatever?
Speaker 5 (19:42):
That sounds great?
Speaker 4 (19:44):
Cot you know the bar you know whatever he chuck
chuck o late, you know, one of those type deals anyways,
you know, like you know, the the the joints they
wear in France when they're doing like artistry, is like
(20:04):
one of them art hats, like a.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Painter's hat, not a chef's had, like a painter's hat. Yeah,
like a painter All right, that works?
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Uh you know why not?
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Well I do. I do have some good news for
you guys, even if you're in Philadelphia and you're listening
to this We've got good news for you, fotball.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
It's too late to do this. We have to go
to pray. We gotta go to preak, we gotta go
to break. We are really late. We gotta go to break.
We are really really.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Late, really late, really late.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
We are like like like like like like like like,
get us out of this segment. Get us, get us
out of this segment. All right, Friday night and a
ball Friday.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Football Friday.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Do it. You can feel it.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
It is a Friday here on, two pros and a
cup of Joe. We are gonna have the usuals coming
up later on. We got another edition of In case
you missed it. We've also got our picks against the spread,
some Quinn's wins, the leftovers, all of it is yours
here on this three hour extravagance. Up next, though, Yeah,
that wasn't the only thing that went really really poorly
for a big group of people in the world of sports.
(21:30):
We'll tell you what was what else was going on,
and what went wrong coming up next to here on FSR.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
I'll tell you what goes really well for the people
in sports. Everything just hits different after a football win.
Right now, Eagles fans I know that y'all don't know
what that feels like today, but you have in the past,
and all you other fans out there, giants and all
these other fans, well, you know that the food tastes
better after a win.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
The drinks are colder, and the.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
Hot sauce, the hot sauce, oh yeah, ye, that better
be the original Louisiana hot sauce.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Though.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Okay, you know why, because nothing, and I mean absolutely
nothing brings the heat to your team getting that dub
outside of that amazing flavor, bold hand crafted kick straight
out of Louisiana, that peppery peppers kick, that vinegar and
(22:26):
salt kick. Yeah, the Louisiana flavor masters, you've done your job, guys,
and you've done it blending perfectly for almost one hundred years.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
That's a long time, y'all.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Think about how many how many brew masters or excuse me,
flavor masters have done that. Yeah, it'll turn every good
meal into a great meal, and every great meal into
a party on your plate. Wings not jos Burgers, don't matter.
You hit it with that original Louisiana hot sauce after
a Sunday win, and suddenly it's unbeatable. Like the touchdown
(23:00):
dance on your tongue. Yeah, they'd be dancing and listen.
If they didn't pull off the win, it don't matter
because if you pour some of that Louisiana Hot sauce
on it anyway, it's gonna help ease the pain. That's
what we call a victory formation for your taste buds,
the original Louisiana Hot Sauce. That's Louisiana Hot.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Buy you some.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
Five young men that are in need of some real
direction and they're doing a fundraiser and I'm going to

skits and stuff like that, and yeah it's good stuff.
Speaker 12 (27:16):
You know.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
You know, I love the kids. You know, got to
get back.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
So yeah, boy, we don't take that too far.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Oh what you want to make that's see, you're one
of us. I'm telling you. You one of us.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Brady, you one of us. They should have named you
Tyrone and Quinn. That's what they should have did. Tyrone,
by the way, middle name should have been Jerome.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Were you were you guys? Lavarn? Did you bring this up?
Speaker 12 (27:54):
So?
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Is it true? Dylan Gabriel was almost named after Brady?
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Is that a true?
Speaker 4 (27:59):
That's true story.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
That's sweet.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
They named all their kids after football people that they
really really like, really were big fans of, and they're
a big fan of Brady Quinn and almost named Dylan Brady.
That's awesome, man, it's a true story. That's got to
be a dope feeling. Man on God, it's got to
be a dope feeling. I've had and dogs named after me.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Any cats never heard of him. See when someone comes up,
they're going in my cat after you, I'm like.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Thanks, I will say kind of. I don't want to
be disrespectful to the family. There is a family. The
kid LeVar Keys, he's actually a five star, four star
receiver that plays at He's going to Penn State next year.
Hell yeah, I don't want to disrespect him. So hopefully
(28:56):
if he becomes like a super superstar and all American
and make all these big plays, like, we'll have this
conversation a few years later and be like, yeah, man,
you know, but no, not to take it off a queue.
I think that's pretty cool day, right, you got quartet it,
Come on, let's do to.
Speaker 9 (29:14):
Fris five lines, not those kind of lines. Five picks,
five spreads. Time for picks against the spread.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Man, I love spreading them. Ian Roddy, what are we?
What are we looking at from last week?
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Here?
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Shoes are uh?
Speaker 12 (29:35):
Starting with Actually, let's let's update last week scores Week five, Jonas,
Unfortunately you went one.
Speaker 10 (29:40):
And four, LaVar.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
That's classic Jonas.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, yeah, LeVar, four and three, Brady, you went four
and two. Didn't I do that in the week before? Two?
Speaker 12 (29:50):
Or no?
Speaker 5 (29:51):
Yeah, Jonas, you're not good at this.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
You went three and two the week now, three and
two the week before? Correct? Oh yeah, we talked about
this earlier this week.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Yeah, one and four, but this was a curious That
was a curious week. Though this past week there was
some there were some curious games. But you know, we'll
do better this week, just like see and I mean
on a down we were still over five hundred, just
so you know.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
By the way, just to me as far as you
and me, not you, and just to clear this up
for people listening, just for people, just for people to
understand this that are listening. If you're wondering, how, Hey,
you guys picked five games. Hey, you guys picked five games.
Why why does Brady have a four and two and
LaVar are four and three? I was, well, yeah, it's
(30:33):
easy because they they nickel and diamond and go money
line to get extra credit points. They're the kiss asses
in class at one extra credit.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
But ian we also lose to if we lose it,
so we basically doubled the value of a money line pick.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
By the way, I don't that's so.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
By the way, Jonas, what are you talking about. I
don't know that I did all the accounting. Okay, I
did all the accounting. Trust me, everything's up to date.
You look like it was not when it was not
when Lee was doing it. I can promise you that
and there's some fuzzy man, but it's it's good to go.
Speaker 5 (31:06):
Now.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
The issue is because of this, and Jonas is staunch
in not wanting to pick ever a money line, we
now have to go basically off.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
When he did it the one time you were out
he paniced? Didn't did it? You know?
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Did he?
Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yes? You did?
Speaker 5 (31:22):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Back to the picks, Yes you did. Brady was off
and you did a money line pick. I was in
state college when you did it. I remember when you
did it. Yes, you did. You participated, and once you participate,
you cannot use the reasoning that you're using. You you
were not resistant to it. You did it, not good
at it, So now you want to do it.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
He did do it.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
He took it.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
He took the Chiefs money line in week two when
the Eagles went to Kansas City, that's when he did it.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Yes, I now there you go.
Speaker 5 (31:54):
Are you lying? Sack of if just do it?
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Who cares?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Now? If you.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Did it? If if you guys really want me to
go there, because I don't think you want that smoke.
If I start going money line, it's over.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
Okay, that's already started going money line.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
That's like giving a grizzly baronoozy. So you don't want that.
That's bad.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
I don't think they can shoot it. But all right,
let's let's go. Let's get the bigs.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Yeah, all right. Week one Broncos and Jets.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
What do you got, Joe?
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Know what I meant?
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Week six? What's the line on this ian? What are
we looking at here?
Speaker 12 (32:31):
Yeah, Broncos are favored by seven and a half, seven
and a half points here. This is the London game,
by the way, keep that in mind.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
I'll take the Jets getting seven and a half neutral site,
Denver's feeling themselves. I'll take the Jets.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Knocks locks.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
LaVar Oh, take Denver to cover.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Sticks picks. What do you think?
Speaker 5 (32:57):
There's a big number for me. And it's like, I
don't know, man, I'm not sure what to think of
the Jets. They just have not been good. I think
this Denver teams underrated. But I hate I hate a
seven and.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
A half line. I don't like it either, But I'm
the way the points on Denver.
Speaker 5 (33:17):
I don't feel good about it.
Speaker 11 (33:20):
Wins wins.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
Thanks, just been so bad.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
You're welcome.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
It's just been so bad, all right?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Next matchup, Seahawks and Jaguars.
Speaker 12 (33:33):
The Seahawks are favored by a point and a half,
though Jacksonville is the home team.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
What do you guys think?
Speaker 5 (33:38):
How do you want to make sense?
Speaker 1 (33:39):
It does?
Speaker 4 (33:42):
It does?
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Money line in Jacksonville.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
I'm taking Seattle. Somebody knows something knocks.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
Yes, that doesn't make any sense to me. Money line?
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Hell yeah, it's a one and a half point spread.
We can't get extra credit points for that.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Dog?
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I just I took.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
I took Seattle minus I took. It's a point. There's
got there's gotta be my spy. There's got to be
a line in the sand where you can't do money lining.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
It's called you're it's called you're the underdog.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Why you sweat? That's the line. And that's the line
in the sand. Jonas they're the underdog.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Takes line doesn't make any sense. I'm laying the point
a half with Seattle here.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
How about that?
Speaker 4 (34:39):
When's this morning with Brady's kick again? Do it again?
Speaker 11 (34:50):
When's Whens?
Speaker 4 (34:52):
It really is good? I mean when you by the
way that was it's a flattering dip.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
By the way that was live?
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Do it live?
Speaker 1 (35:01):
All right?
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Up?
Speaker 3 (35:04):
Get to the war game.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Forty nine ers said Buccaneers.
Speaker 12 (35:08):
Buccaneers with the home team, they're favored by three points. Exactly,
what do you guys think?
Speaker 5 (35:14):
Is it mac or perty this week? It's Mac Jones?
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Right, Mac, it is Mac. I'm gonna take Tampa Bay,
Knox Loocks, Var, I'm gonna take Tampa Bay. Stick what up? Stick?
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Ye right, I'm gonna take Tampa Bay too.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Whens, Whens, You're welcome so much longer than that.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Wait, wait, hold on, poss, I didn't mean it that way.
Speaker 5 (35:54):
Next, it's dropped so much.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
It always so much more time. I just got that,
all right. Next matchup Lions and Chiefs. All right, Chiefs
are at.
Speaker 12 (36:10):
Arrowheads, so they're the home team, and they're actually favored
over the Red High Lions. Right now, Chiefs are favored
by two and a half points. What do you think, Jonas,
I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Take Kansas City, take Cansas Knocks, looks, Detroit, everyone's all man,
Detroit Man. They don't need coordinators. They got this whole
thing figured out. They've played a bucket of vomits so far.
That's their wins. When they play good teams, they lose,
like Green Bay. It's gonna happen again this weekend. I
got Casey.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Money line.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Sticks picks on who dah.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
Let's go Detroit? What do you mean on who Detroit?
Speaker 3 (36:48):
Stand up Detroit? Baby?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
But I don't know, go with the bag of vomit Now,
I'm gonna go Casey. I'm laying at two and a
half here.
Speaker 11 (37:05):
Whins wins?
Speaker 1 (37:07):
We Detroit really played nobody.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
I'm really I'm really going to take a very very
nice Commanding League or I'm going to go down ss creek.
This is my this is the week. It's gonna go
one way or the other. It's all good though, I'm
willing to take the risk.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
I feel confident, all right.
Speaker 12 (37:31):
Final final matchup Bears at Commanders. Remember this is the
Monday night game. There's a Monday night doubleheader. This is
the second of the two. Commanders are favored by four
and a half points.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
What do you think, Jonas? This is tough for me, man,
This is real tough because I'm like looking at the
matchups and the splits and all that stuff, and I'm like,
gets up, I'll take the Bears. Knocks locks.
Speaker 5 (38:03):
Why you take a money line?
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Have you seen the Bears?
Speaker 3 (38:08):
I mean, if you're taking them on the point.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Talked, give me the four points please? Got so they're
still going to lose?
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Yeah about more than four?
Speaker 12 (38:19):
With you?
Speaker 4 (38:20):
I totally disagree with you. Not only are the Beers
going to lose, they're going to lose by more than four.
Give me the almost said, just saying why not? I
almost say it, give me the skins. But I'm gonna say,
give me the command give me the commanders. They'll cover
sticks picks. Almost said skins though almost.
Speaker 10 (38:44):
Dude, I'm not.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
I'm just saying, gosh, I hate the staying that I
played for.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
That's what I almost said.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Hey, by the way, Jon, I'm gonna go with Levar's
former team, yeah and lay the four and a half points.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Whins when I'm just saying, Bears coming back, Bears coming
off of bye week, getting there, getting a lot of
guys back healthy on defense, Jaden Daniels not one hundred percent?
Speaker 8 (39:09):
You know.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
What does that mean? Just like letting you know, we've
already made our picks. If you try to change it,
are you trying to convince yourself that you're you're correct?
Speaker 1 (39:20):
I'm good with my picks. I feel five and oh.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
I think the Bears had their opportunity of beating them
last year, and they blew it this year.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Not so much they got they lose by more than
four you know, Okay, that happens.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
You made your pick.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
If you're right, it is that is that is our
picks against the spread for for.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
Week six, and said, do what you love spreading them?
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Huh yeah, you gotta spread them?
Speaker 4 (39:49):
Okay, you love to be spread what? I could dig it?
That's what you said.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
I told you that off air.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
I could dig it. Why are you Jonas?
Speaker 1 (39:59):
So we are going to uh do you think we
could take it? We are going to catch Wow, all

Speaker 1 (41:43):
Good thing. The guys are here to bring you in
case you missed it, and for that we turn it
over to our executive producer, the one and only Rowdy
Ian Roddy. All right, good morning, guys.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
What's up LaVar before hey, before you give them an
in case you missed it, give them a little original
Louisiana sa. Okay, that perfect balance of peppers and vinegar
and saltan putting it on your food wings burgers. Yeah,
just make sure you bring that to the Stick City
tailgate everybody out there. He becomes a stick cytail gate tomorrow. Right, Yeah,
(42:18):
that's Louisiana hot value. Some go ahead, go. I just
thought I got a little high shots the crowbar that
in there, because you know, I'm kind of like a
Philly fan, you know, at hard I guess, so there
you go.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
No, perfectly, I will be doing that absolutely, thanks sir.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
Let's start with Roddy Piper.
Speaker 12 (42:35):
In a bit of a surprise, Jalen Carter sat out
last night in the Eagles Thursday Night Football lost to
the Giants. It was a heel injury reportedly on the broadcast,
though Ian Rappaport reported that it was his understanding that
the infamous MetLife turf was a big factor in the
decision to keep them sideline.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
Though, what do you guys think that's real? There's a
lot of medical staffs. They don't want their players playing
on that surf. I get it, especially coming back.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
I only that we didn't mention his name, but they
don't do well when he's not in the lineup, and
and so he's his health is going to be, you know,
something to pay attention to. So he's not in the lineup,
they're a different team.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
So the turf's reputation is so bad that one of
the best players is not playing because he doesn't want
to risk injury on that turf, And the NFL is
still like, now whatever, or is it they don't.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
Or is it hey the team doesn't want to Is
it him or is it they?
Speaker 3 (43:33):
Or is it both?
Speaker 4 (43:34):
One doesn't have to be false, I guess. I mean,
I would say it's probably the team. He's not making
that decision.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Well, I would say he probably has some saying it
doesn't he.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
Uh, if he can play. I don't think he's going
to sit there, And yeah, i'd be.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
A player, wouldn't sit out the game because that's her.
The medical staff would determine that. But there was someone
else too. I thought I read there he was coming
off an ACL or something, and they it was someone
in the last week and it was the same thing.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
It was like, yeah, they're thinking about not playing them
this game because of the turf.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
That something crazy. So you got to take those things.
Speaker 4 (44:11):
I mean, if you're a smart medical status, that's something
that you got to take into considerations.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
Okay, But if you're the NFL, shouldn't you also take
that into consideration and be like, hey, maybe we need
to do something about this.
Speaker 5 (44:20):
Yes, Okay.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Here's the thing is, if you really want to get
into this, the fact that the World Cup is being
hosted in North America and all these NFL stadiums are
going to host games, and what are they doing for
these games?
Speaker 5 (44:32):
But they're bringing in.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
Grass Oh yeah, they're literally they're literally saying to you,
you imbeciles in the US.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
You imbeciles. They're like, you guys don't care about your
players like we do.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
We're bringing in all grass fields and then they're not
great and good as the ones we play on, but
we'll rather play on that then your crap turf fields
you guys play on and subject your players to injuries.
Speaker 12 (44:55):
On the worst part, they're actually switching it back after
the World Cup. They're going back to talk when they're actually.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
Moving for.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
There's way more maintenance.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Making it up funny for how many millions.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Billy ass stadium?
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Yeah yeah, beaver is all natural.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
There, manet all natural.
Speaker 5 (45:24):
Let me give you the example. If you.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Shirt downs, you see all the nice horse stalls, all
these beautiful racehorses flown from all the world.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
If you look just a little bit yonder, you'll see
a pig pasture.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
All right, that's what That's how the NFL have used
the players versus these like major soccer clubs across the world,
and how they view their race horses. They would they
want them on the best turf possible. Don't let the
big pasture. Go ahead and play the turf, fat ass.
You gotta trim that beaver no stadium, Lorena, Yeah, I
(46:03):
know what you're doing there, Lorena. Get a lot of
text messages about about Lorraina's dropped.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Yeah, they love it, right, they do love it.
Speaker 5 (46:16):
They do love it.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
What do they wonder? Is she a method actor?
Speaker 5 (46:22):
Not going into that.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
Ian was like, was that really you?
Speaker 5 (46:29):
I look has got range?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
She does voiceover actress does good stuff. Should record a
new one with LeVar doing it? Why are we I
thought lebar a thought LaVar left.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
Here?
Speaker 1 (46:46):
It goes.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
Yep, CHOPPERO answer. Maybe depends on the time of day.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
My brother Tyrone won't. And for the record, I actually
have a brother named Tyrone, not vampire. I no, no,
it is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. No LeVar Arrington, but it's Brady Quinn.
It's Jonas Knox with the hair coming up in a
(47:18):
little over fifteen minutes from now. Somebody has decided, do
you know what we're good here with the NFL. Apparently
we don't need the NFL. The NFL you know, we're
gonna go ahead and stay where we are, So we'll
get into the details on that for you on Fox
Sports Radio. Do you want to let you know though,
that we are brought to you by the original Louisiana
Hot Sauce. It's the perfect balance of Pepper's vinegar and
(47:40):
salt wings nachos, Burgers hit any tailgate food with the bold,
handcrafted flavor of the original Louisiana Hot sauce. That's Louisiana Hot.
Buy you some. So we have got Are you ready
to go? With Quinn's wins? It's a good slate of games.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
Yeah, but there is a good slate of games.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
One of them obviously is Oklahoma Texas, which we do
have to acknowledge before we get into the picks that
Jo Matier looks probable to play.
Speaker 5 (48:09):
Do we have the sound to put uh, you know,
go along with us?
Speaker 3 (48:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
Breventables, the head coach of Oklahoma, talking about the status
of Jamatire.
Speaker 13 (48:17):
I don't know anything about the injury. Uh so I'm
just when they tell me he's available, I'll let y'all know.
Speaker 3 (48:25):
You talk for us healthy the rest of the season.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
I'm preserving not just how's that balance.
Speaker 13 (48:30):
I'm just lean on the doctors. I'm not an expert
in any of it. So literally, that's the extent of it.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
John is doing no good on good work.
Speaker 13 (48:44):
So it's Michael in wit right now. So something changes,
I'll let you know, But I think if you're gonna play,
you got to do good on good right right, throw
some skelly and the ball off, you know, play on
third downs.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
So I mean, I'm convinced I didn't know anything. You know,
maybe Brian Daball should lean on the doctors a little
bit more as opposed to what Brett Mettibles.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
Is doing, like I don't understand, And just so people
who don't know. John Matsier, the quarterback for Oklahoma transferred
to from Washington State. He's been as advertised. Before he
suffered the broken hand where he needed surgery, he was
the odds on favor for the Heisman, and it actually
was pretty definitive and clear. Now it's gotten extremely muddy
(49:32):
where I don't know we've ever had a year that
was you know, this open like this right now, but
a lot of football left to be played. The point
is he was questionable earlier in the week, a lot
of the practices have been hard for the media to view,
and now he's been upgraded to probable for the game.
So I don't know if you read into that as
(49:53):
Texas should be preparing for him to start.
Speaker 5 (49:55):
There's no doubt he changes the dynamics of this game.
If he does. I would say this.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
The college football playoff committee and in their rankings, if
he did not play, they would take a loss to
Texas into consideration that their starting quarterback was not there
for So there is a bit of a risk in
playing Jeometsier if he's not one hundred percent or if
he hasn't been practicing, as Breton Venables just mentioned.
Speaker 5 (50:26):
So it's worth maybe be impatient with this.
Speaker 2 (50:30):
So I don't know if it's game has been shimp
and how they're trying to impact again, Texas's defensive preparation
for whatever quarterback Michael Hawkins Junior, who will take over
a very dynamic, dual threat quarterback. The offense won't change drastically.
But I mean, look, there's a reason why they brought
Jommetsier in. He's that special of a player. So we'll
(50:52):
have to wait and see what ends up happened on Saturday.
But I still go back to the thought, if he
doesn't play, you know, the committee's not going to hold
that against him in a loss.
Speaker 5 (51:01):
H Now, if he plays, you kind of run that risk.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
Then that's interesting. I never actually put that together that
you know you almost would be I don't want to
say better serve because you're a better.
Speaker 5 (51:11):
Team with him given like a mulligan almost.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Yeah, Yeah, that's and that that's a whole another dynamic
that they've got to think about when it comes to that.
Speaker 5 (51:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
I also still can't pronounce the name of the game.
I tried to during the break just for practice. Red
River Showdown, well, the red River Rivalry at.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
The red River Rivalry. Yeah, there's just a lot going
on there, but it's got to say it slow.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
Sorry, but yeah, So, I mean we'll see now, are
they going to be part of your picks? I mean,
are you bold enough to go down that road with
with this game with the Let's go to the picks.
Let's check it out, all right, let's see what we
got here. It's time for winning.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
Here's all illnesses. It really does, I'm going to win.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
It's Quinn's wings, all right.
Speaker 5 (51:57):
Let's review quickly.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Week six went three into two, of course, the two losses,
one being Penn State.
Speaker 5 (52:04):
I really thought that was a layup.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
A UCLA team can't get a crowd, couldn't even get
a lead up until Penn State comes to town and
Penn State loses to UCLA as a twenty.
Speaker 5 (52:16):
Four and a half point favorite.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (52:19):
Arguably one of the worst losses in Penn State history.
That one hurt and then Houston taken on Texas Tech.
I thought they could keep it within the numbers at
twelve and a half.
Speaker 5 (52:29):
They couldn't. That's just how dominant Texas Tech is.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
By the way, some if they followed the picks, would
see that TCU did in fact cover versus Colorado. Now
how they covered, I feel like there was a little
something on that. When you're throwing a touchdown pass the
twenty seconds left to go up two scoreks might be
a little bit of a I don't want to say
bad blood, but something.
Speaker 5 (52:52):
To that between Sunbecks and Dion coach Tion Sanders.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
Let me ask you this, what percentage of coaches do
you think know the number going into a game?
Speaker 5 (53:02):
I would say almost one hundred nowadays.
Speaker 1 (53:04):
So like, yeah, they're they're aware of what the line is.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
By the way, uh ex But easiest win of the
weekend Clemson lane fourteen on.
Speaker 5 (53:12):
The road to beat North Carolina, which is in a state.
Speaker 2 (53:15):
Of disarray, And then how about my Maryland Turpins covering
the six and a half spread at home versus U
dub Just keep an eye on those those terps because
it might be more in store. All right, this week
big one in Champagne, Illinois, Ohio State laying fourteen. Last
time I checked on DraftKings if you wouldn't mind double
checking efforting.
Speaker 5 (53:36):
Look, the secondary for Illinois struggled this year.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
It's one of the reasons why when they played SC
I really thought sc would do a better job of
being able to exploit some of that wasn't the case,
and in fact, Illinois is getting healthy in his secondary.
Matthew Bailey should be back for this game. Miles Scott,
the quarterback, also back for this game. So that's coming
at the right time because Illinois has been dreadful in
stopping a passing attack and this is one of the
(54:00):
most talented.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
In the country.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Look, this Ohio State defense is probably the best in
the country based on what I've seen.
Speaker 5 (54:06):
So I'm laying the fourteen points.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
It's a lot of points for an early start on
the road, but this Ohio State team is special. So
lay the fourteen points with the Buckeyes to kick this
thing off twins when it is still a fourteam by
the way, Okay, there we go. Next up and the
SEC Bama headed to Columbia Missouri to take on Missoo,
(54:29):
a team that I think is you know, Eli Drinkowitz
has this program really going. We talked about some of
the issues of for Bo Perbulah with the transfer portal,
having to make a decision at a tough time of
the year.
Speaker 5 (54:39):
Last year as Penn State was playing into the semi
finals and.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
Him having to leave the team to go to Missou
a better opportunity while he's there, and it's working out pretty.
Speaker 5 (54:47):
Darn well for him so far. I will say this,
and watching back over.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
The tape, I don't feel like Miszoo threatens you quite
as much downfield, and because of that, I've got some
concerns about what they could do in this game. To me,
it's all about Alabama stopping a Mott. Hardy was one
of the best running backs in the country. The sophomore
has been phenomenal.
Speaker 5 (55:06):
But I like Bama.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
I think you lay the three points here Calyn de
Bor and this team has kind of figured it out.
Ty Simpson's playing some really good football. They're starting to
again get back to the team we thought they were
going to be at the beginning of the year until
they got surprised by Florida State.
Speaker 5 (55:22):
So lay the three points with Bama on the road.
Speaker 11 (55:28):
Twins Whens.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
All right, Next one, a big one out in Lorenez,
home state, Oregon. We've got the Ducks Land seven points
versus Indiana. Now, look, these two teams have played really
well this year. Indiana, I think as just got off
to another fast start. Fernando Mendoz has been great. I
don't think they're.
Speaker 5 (55:51):
Built to beat Oregon.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
I actually love this number, and if it was at ten,
I would lay the ten ten and a half points,
maybe even up to like twelve and a half. I
think Oregon takes care of business here. I think they're
one of the best teams in the country. Dante Moor
has played outstanding so far for them, and defensively, there
were some concerns initially about their secondary. If they can
match up, they will be just fine. And lay the
(56:15):
seven points with the Ducks. Don't even hesitate, don't even
think about it.
Speaker 11 (56:18):
Ducks Twins Wins some extra mph on that.
Speaker 5 (56:25):
Just a little bit.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Now, Next one up Maryland last week six and a half,
this week getting six and a half at home versus Nebraska.
Nebraska's got one of the more prolific pass attacks. SODA's Maryland. Man,
they're playing some really good football. I think books and
people have underestimated just how good this team is. This
is a big game too for Nebraska, who, if you
(56:47):
look at the schedule the rest of the way, maybe
a dark horse to find their way into the College
Football Playoff. They need a win here. I'm not sure
if they win or not, but I'll say I'll say
this much. I think Maryland keeps this one close. Maryland
getting the six and a half points taken on the
corn Huskers and look continuing to be one of the
better teams against the spread this year.
Speaker 11 (57:12):
Wins wins, Alice, Did you.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
Just do that?
Speaker 5 (57:17):
Live, Lorena?
Speaker 1 (57:19):
It's just like they did it. They did three different
variations and she just kept wearing that one thin.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Florida, they're headed down to College States take on Texas
A and M a big one in the SEC. We
saw Florida knockoff Texas last week and one of the
things that I'm most impressed by is Florida's defense.
Speaker 5 (57:39):
I mean, they are lights out. You know, Brian Taylor junior.
Speaker 2 (57:42):
I believe he doesn't like show up in a stack
call him quite as much, but this dude reaks Havoc
and he requires a lot of double teams. So really
impressed with the Florida front. Mike Elco, He's always been
a great defensive mind. This Texas and m defense has
been solid this year. They've got some playmakers. The play
in this game is the under the under of forty
(58:03):
seven and a half. This to me is a defensive battle,
lower scoring game. It's gonna be tough for Florida to
score points with that twelve man involved too. So I
like the under of forty seven and a half between
Florida at Texas and and M.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Twins. Who will sum for everybody?
Speaker 5 (58:24):
I thought we got I thought we got rid of
that one.
Speaker 11 (58:26):
Jonas said he wanted some of the islands back.
Speaker 1 (58:28):
You know, I just complained about my drops. Yes, there
was no complaint, trust me.
Speaker 5 (58:33):
No one's complaining about your drops there.
Speaker 4 (58:35):
Well, then.
Speaker 11 (58:38):
Twins wins.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
All right, one more, one more for the weekend. It's
been a lot, but there's a lot of great games on.
I wanted to talk about some of some of the
action in this. Arizona State headed to Utah to take
on the Uthe Arizona States getting five and a half.
They've been really good this year though too, outside of
their loss to Mississippi State, which at the time people
weren't sure how to take that. Then we kind of
found out Mississippi State's much in proved Sam Levit's been
(59:01):
phenomenal at quarterback for them this year. I was curious
to see how he would be able to respond after
having a big year last year. But also this defense
for Arizona State, I think they're up for the challenge.
We saw Utah bounce back after that big loss they
took to Texas Tech, Devin damp here playing well, it's
just too big of a number. I mean, I don't
know that Utah can really get off, you know, get
(59:23):
out to a big lead versus Arizona State defense. So
I like it staying within the five and a half
points that Arizona State's getting in this one.
Speaker 5 (59:31):
That's my play, and that's Quinn's wins for this week.
Speaker 11 (59:36):
Quinn's wins.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
A couple of a couple of quick follow ups. Arizona
State now catching seven and a half on DraftKings, so
you're getting seven and a half points, so gladly take
that number. Gone up a couple of points there. Also,
you're picking against Illinois with a big noon kickoff back
in Champagne.
Speaker 5 (59:57):
Again, thank you for drawing attention to that.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Well, no, I'm just saying, did it have anything to
do with the fact that USC came up short last time?
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
And maybe you're like, you know, no, in fact, that's
what made me hesitate and want to go the other direction,
because eventually, too you wonder about like slow starts. In fact,
you go back and watch the Washington game. You know,
Jed Fish really slowed down that game. In particular, I
want to say, I think Ohio State had like seven possessions,
(01:00:29):
something ridiculously low, and they basically ran like the four
minute offense out the gate and then they just they
limited the opportunities.
Speaker 5 (01:00:36):
I think you'll see Illinois try to do something similar.
Even though Luke.
Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Almeyer's been phenomenal offensively, they've been really good, you know,
since that blowout lost Indiana. One of the things Illinois's
done is they've kind of thrown out some of the
other stuff that they were doing or trying to do
that wasn't working, and a lot more downhill direct runs,
you know, in between the tackles, more kind of that
gap scheme. And then and then they got some players
to get to the outside. But in the running game
(01:01:01):
so far, they've kind of simplified and then focused on
just being more physical and getting you know, up and
down the field, not trying to go horizontal quite as much.
And it's played off, you know, big time for them.
So we will see how that how that works for
Ohio State again. This Ohio State team, man, they're just
it's different. It's hard to describe how good they are.
(01:01:21):
Kayden Curry is a monster off the edge. RVL Rees
can do like everything, and he looks like a freak.
I mean, and I say that in the most positive way.
That young man looks like he can play off the edge.
He can play off the off the ball. Their secondary
has been up for the task. Caleb Downs. You got
to know where he's at every single play. I mean,
they can do whatever they want with him because he's
(01:01:43):
so good in coverage. He's so good blitzing, he's so
good with coverage recognition. And Matt Patricia's been underrated. I
think if you looked at one coach right now who's
kind of a runaway for the Broyls Award, it's probably
Matt Patricia. He's done that good of a job, so
different challenge than I think sc SC. It was kind
of smoking mirrors and Hollywood kind of want to try
(01:02:04):
to make it look like they're back or they're they're
a contender.
Speaker 5 (01:02:08):
Ohio State's legit.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
This is the defending national champion and a team that's
been built with the kind of foundation that can reload
and go do it again.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Oh, you're right. Seven possessions in that game against Washington.
Speaker 5 (01:02:19):
Which is wild. I mean, on average you have about twelve.
Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
Like that's like playing a service academy, like when you
would when we would play Navy, We're like, all right,
we're gonna get the ball six times and they're gonna
get they're gonna score on their opportunities, so you know,
you have to score. You know, it was like a
math equation. You're like, all right, we're gonna have to score,
you know, you know, touch you know, five touchdowns in
order to feel like we're gonna be in a good
spot because we know our defense is probably gonna give
(01:02:42):
up at least three. Like it's just it's tough to
stop those sorts of academies, that style of offense. And
that was always like you know, the math equation, how
that usually worked.
Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
It is a two pros and a cup of Joe.
Here on Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn Jonas NOx with
you here. No LeVar Arrington, he is off for the
rest of the day. He's in Route two in appearance.
But Quinn and I will take you all the way
up here until the end of this hour.
Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
And I thought maybe he just went back to bed,
because sometimes, you know LeVar, he loses sleep, especially when someone's.
Speaker 5 (01:03:10):
Like moving around and all that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
And if you're losing sleep like LeVar, every time when
someone moves in bed matches from sleep experts. They'll match
you with a temper looks adapt it's temper material and
absorbs motion for an undisturbed rest. Visit match from today
and upgrade to a temper peedic. It makes sleep easy.
Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:03:29):
Coming up next year on the show, we're going to
tell you about somebody who apparently is like, no, we're
good here, we don't need the NFL. That'll be yours
right here. On FSR,
