Speaker 2 (00:32):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
One of the storylines of the NFL this week was
Tua Tagovailoa coming out and calling out players for showing
up late to team meetings and basically just highlighting more
of the dysfunction there in Miami. Apparently that did not
sit well with teammates, that did not sit well with
people within the organization. And so Tua addressed the situation yesterday.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
As a leader of this team of the Miami del
and you know the comments that that had been said,
I would say, I've made a mistake, and I'm owning
up to that right now. You know, I've talked to
guys on the team about it, talk to the leaders
about it, and they know my heart.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
They know that the intent was right.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
But you know, the intent can be right, but when
things get misconstrued or however the media wants to portray it,
you know that that leaves a void of silence and
a lot of questions. For the guys on our team
now being one and five, you know, we talk a
lot about all right, we.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Got to get this going.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
We got to get this going, come.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
In excited to go to work, forget about the noise.
And I feel like I just added onto that for
our guys, you know, for for myself, I got to
look at myself as the leader protecting the team. I
don't feel like I did that to the best of
my abilities. I felt like I let the emotions of
the game get to me after the game. And you

(01:59):
know that's something that I can learn from as a
leader on this team, and what happens in house should
be protected and none of that.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Should have gotten out.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
And so I want to publicly apologize about that. I
want to move forward and now I want to focus
on Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
So onto the Browns we go. But still the mess
is there, and it just feel like we're just delaying
the inevitable. There's going to be changes. This is going
to be a precursor to a lot of these changes,
and it's just more logs on the fire, so to speak.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
When it comes to the sas he said this Sunday, right,
and then he made these comments yesterday. Yeah, so it
took him like three days to figure it out, and
he was probably gonna have to walk that back a
little bit crazy.

Speaker 6 (02:42):
He had to experience whatever he's experiencing to walk it back,
is what what?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Well?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
I was thinking, it's kind of like Jonahs just figured
out YouTube multi view.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
It's late to the party.

Speaker 7 (02:54):
Yeah, Like it was.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
Like, all right, man, I figure have been like Tuesday
or Monday.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
Yeah, as soon as I heard the quotes, I was like, man,
it's bad.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
That's bad.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
That's bad when you come out and you say those
types of things, like nobody like guys are super competitive
in locker rooms, and some are very very prideful guys,
and everybody has like their different vantage points of how
they view things, how they react to things, just just different.

(03:32):
And when somebody comes out and there's a calling out
of sorts in the public forum, public domain consumption, you've
basically told us in the locker.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Room that.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
You're more important than us, Like you're more important what
you feel, what you think, what you do you So
if you think I think you're more important than me
than that means that there's a removal of yourself as
it applies to us being together. That's not I can't see.

(04:10):
I can't trust or have a teammate that I feel
that way about. And I can guarantee you dudes in
that locker room when they heard that, like, oh, he's
talking about you, bro oh, he's talking about me, Like
who is he talking about?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Now?

Speaker 6 (04:27):
That becomes the conversation, that becomes a discussion. And while
he's not wrong for the things he's calling out, he's
wrong for putting it in the public for the media
to take take shape of it and take hold of
it however they want to take it and define it.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
That was wrong in him to do.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
But as far as apologizing, I just think at this point,
it's kind of late to be apologizing, Like you said,
today's Thursday, like that came out yesterday. It's that's kind
of late. That's late. And what's crazy is the best
way for him to approach it would be to approach
the team and a player's only type of setting and

(05:11):
explain to them and apologize to them for what happened.
But now that plays out behind closed doors, that doesn't
get put out in the public. He said, he put
himself in a very compromising state. You asked me, can.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
We try like role playing real quick? Like what that
would sound like? Locker room?

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Just to give people an idea, you know of uh,
you know, maybe I'll just kind of make or regurgitate
some of to his comments and then you could be
that prideful you know player in the locker room who
just heard what he said and how he would respond.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
Are you up for that?

Speaker 8 (05:41):
Right?

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I go?

Speaker 7 (05:43):
But like I need more emotion. I don't. I don't
want the OG.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
I want that the you know, the fired up guy,
like the prideful one that's upset the what he just said.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
But still maybe young not a OG but younger.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Cause yeah, yeah, all right, all right, go, I look
we're going are all right?

Speaker 8 (06:02):
Well?

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Yeah, I mean players aren't showing up to player only meetings.
You know, guys aren't on time for player on only meetings.
I mean it's it's killed each other accountable, you know,
it's just it's not what we're doing on this team,
and you know it's why we won.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Five He somebody tells stupid to shut up.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
We need guys who are showing up ready to play,
making sure they know know what they're supposed to execute,
you know, listening to coach do when things we're.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Asking play, somebody bring him.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Some milt.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
Do over here, he's saying, somebody bringing some milt.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
You go ahead this? Look? Did you go ahead? This
in the background? You go ahead this in the back
of you? Yo? Who does this moment? If I think
he is man?

Speaker 7 (07:08):
Who is bro? He wanted to come over here like that?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
He trying to get you.

Speaker 7 (07:13):
Fine, bro, Bro, I'm gonna make sure I come in
there and whoop that mother better. I'll walk past my
locker one walk past right now? No catch him super late,
Yeah we will.

Speaker 8 (07:25):
Man.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
Jus ass in the parking lot?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Was he doing?

Speaker 8 (07:28):
Man?

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I'm telling you that he probably with four flats on you.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
He's gonna need that full self driving mode after Yes,
was his address again?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
By the way, do you think.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Do you think anybody brought in the fact that he
threw three picks in that game as well too?

Speaker 8 (07:50):
Right?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
You know they went after it like you know they
bro you threw three interceptions that game.

Speaker 8 (07:57):
Shut up, stupid boy, Brady, were you throw my name?
And because you're insinue and you're gonna beat my ass?

Speaker 7 (08:04):
No, I'm just trying to get you involved in the conversation.

Speaker 8 (08:07):
I'm here, I'm here trying to get you in, man.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
I try to try.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I thought you were gonna tag team in maybe joined
lavarn I was thinking about going with a boom.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
There you go, There you go, in all seriousness.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
To Jonas's point, though, that was what struck me as
most odd was the timing of those comments. It's like, oh,
I mean, even if all three picks aren't on you,
it's on you. The box score on you, and you
got it as a quarterback. Just take the blame. Like
the two people and someone had to cut up of
Kevin Stefanski, which was awesome, And they're like, well, you

(08:43):
must be on the hot seat because like every single
time they've lost, he's been like, it's on me, it's
on our staff. We have to do a better job
of preparing them. Like that's a guy who's won multiple
Coach of the Year awards for a reason. That's a
guy who gets players to play for him for a reason,
because he's ever gonna walk up to a podium, he's
gonna he's not gonna point the fingers somewhere else. You know,

(09:05):
he's not gonna say, well, you know, they should have
done this, or they didn't. They didn't do this, this
is why we didn't win. He literally takes it on
himself first, and if there's anything that's pointed at a
player or even a coach, he's.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Usually deflecting it.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
It's one of the reasons why, like the Raiders last week,
obviously before they win this past week, you know, there's
a little back and forth of Pete Carroll and Ship
Kelly a bit surprising Pete Carroll getting on publicly.

Speaker 7 (09:33):
About the play calling. The irony to that is Brennan Carroll.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
His son is the run game coordinator, a no line coach,
so like he's a part of that. But it got
I got a little snippy going back and forth, and look,
maybe that's the relationship. Maybe behind you know, closed doors,
they're fine, they're okay with it. But then Chip Kelly
kind of fired back about it not being about to
play calling, and obviously, you know the defensive.

Speaker 7 (09:56):
Struggles and all that, so look, a win solves everything,
is all illnesses.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
If Miami beats Cleveland this week, this will die down,
this will calm down. But if not, it's more pressure
on Mike McDaniel. And honestly, I would say this whole
to a thing this week. The one thing it's done
is it's kind of allowed Mike McDaniel to fly under
the radar.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
Yeah, like we haven't talked about him all this week.
It's been mostly about Tua.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
True because I could maybe I'm reading it wrong, but
I can understand if Mike McDaniel came out and made
those comments, that would have been taken differently than one
of your own who's supposed to be the leader of
the team who basically just aired everything.

Speaker 6 (10:37):
I'm going to push back on that, and I'm gonna
say that becomes more of a volatile situation if your
head coach starts calling out his players like that personal,
that's personal, that's personal to the guys that are involved
with it. You can't be the guy that says, block
out all the noise and it's just us and us

(10:58):
against the world and all that when you're sitting there
and your actions don't reflect that in what you're doing
with the media.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
I think it would be worse.

Speaker 6 (11:08):
It'd be just as it'd probably be worse if a
head coach was doing that to his player.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
So if Mike McDaniel did what Tua.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
Just did, I think you're potentially I think it first
of all, sends a message to the public that this
dude is not like he doesn't have it anymore. Secondly,
you run the potential of in reality, you lose that
locker room.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
But we've seen coaches speak to the team through the
media before. Phil Jackson used to do it all the time,
like they would make comments through the media that was like, hey,
did you hear coach had this to say or coach
had that to say. When it's your quarterback who comes
out after a three pick game and starts airing everybody out.
By the way, the same guy who got on Tyreek
Hill for his behavior last year, the same guy who

(11:55):
was very critical about how Tyreek Hill was handling himself,
and then he airs everybody out like that. I don't
how do you come back from that from a trust standpoint.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
If you're somebody else on that, that's the thing You've
You've destroyed the trust. We're not a team like that's
not You're not like somebody I bang with, Like after
you just said what you just said, Like you you've
told us how you feel about us, you don't have
no problem. Like even if I'm not the guy that's
doing it, I still feel like some guys need a

(12:27):
little bit more love, Some guys need a little bit
more assisting in, a little bit more more mentorship, like
and those are generally the guys that are missing those meetings.
Those are generally the guys that need to be talked
to a little bit more. You're not, You're generally not
going to have a season that miss Uh. Players only

(12:49):
meet First of all, they knows they they want to
know what's going on. Like the smarter you are, you'll
see that, the wiser you get, you want to be
a part of these meetings because I want to know
what the hell is going on? Like what's really going
on right now? Like what are people thinking? You want
to call this? This player's only meaning great. I'm gonna
be sitting up in there listening. I might not say

(13:11):
a word. I'm gonna be listening though, because I want
to hear what's going on. So it's generally going to
be a younger dude that isn't showing up to that
type of a meeting. Could be a popular guy, could
be a really really talented guy on the roster that's possible.
Could be guys that are like, you know, fringe guys
that could be on the team or not be on
the team. Like, there's elements of guys that are showing

(13:33):
up late or not showing up at all, and we
don't have that context. So it's just irresponsible to put
it out there because you don't even know the true
context of the people who are showing up and the
people who aren't showing up, So that's left to interpretation.
You can assume whoever it is you want to assume,
you know who. You're not going to assume Tua think

(13:56):
about it. You're not going to assume it's Ta that's
late or missing the meetings. Why because he's the one
that's calling it out. So you've basically separated yourself from
everybody else because there's no context, so everybody else can.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Be a target.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
You could assume it's Tyreek Hill or or you could
say it's Chop robinszon whatever whoever it is you want
to assume, you can assume any of those people because
there's no context connected to is it chop No, I mean,
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
I'm just throwing out an example. Let's let's call him.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
That was the one thing to me, it's family business
should be kept in house, like anything like that. And
that's the one thing I always admired about Belichick and
the Patriots, the Malcolm Butler benching in the super Bowl,
not playing him in the super Bowl. To this day,
we still don't know why. Nobody has an answer why.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
Seriously, like JFK Malcolm Butler, nobody's s You can go
through a list of things like it's like, it's wild
that that never has gotten out what it was or
even if the explanation was what I've heard that it
was just as simple as that.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
But to that point, it's a great point.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
And there's also and that was the same offseason where
they let him go in free agency and he went
and he got the big money deal with the Titans,
and ultimately I think he came back to the Patriots
later on in his career to where they trust him
to bring him back. But that was like guys going
into free agency, Belichick probably could have let that get
public and air him out, and the Titans be like, man,

(15:26):
we're not giving this guy that kind of money if
he's going to behave like that before the biggest game
of the year, kept his mouth shut, nobody ever said
anything it.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
It feels like everybody.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
In Miami and is known for a long time how
this whole thing's gonna end. Mike McDaniel is probably going
to get fired and they're going to be looking for
another coach and it's going to be a mess in
trying to find whoever it is to take over a
team who's now apparently got a quarterback that guys don't trust.
That just feels like about sums it up. That about

(15:58):
sums it up.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
And let me ask you guys back in the in
the tube, it's out after this week.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
If Miami loses, you guys get the sense that maybe
there's gonna be a change coming. I mean, we've talked
about this before. I don't think that does anything for
you as an organization in the NFL to move on
from a coach now. I think it only makes it
harder for a lot of those players that if they're

(16:28):
on the fence and they're really only paying for the
playing for the paycheck, then you know most of those
guys kind.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
Of check out.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
But look, maybe they look at Anthony Weaver as a
potential replacement who's on their staff as defensive coordinator, and they.

Speaker 7 (16:43):
Want to give him a shot.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
But I look at the Dolphins as the team that
I think is the most likely if they make a change,
it'll happen sometime in the next couple of weeks. Like
they're that next team that I'm looking at saying, all right,
we just all Brian Callahan get clipped. It feels like
they would be the next team that would make a move.

Speaker 7 (17:06):
Maybe I'm wrong.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Maybe maybe it's Kevin Stefansk and the Browns, although I
think you look at what they've done with their roster,
and I don't know how.

Speaker 7 (17:13):
They're pointing out in the whole blame game, but.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
I'm pretty sure Andrew Berry is responsible for the construction
of the roster. So maybe they're looking at trading away
Flacco and trading away PICKT and more favorably in house.
Because on the outside, if you go back and you
play Cincinnati and Flacco winds up dicing you up, like
that's gonna look really bad on whoever's decision that was

(17:38):
to move on for him, which I'm pretty positive as
Andrew Berry, do.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
You think that to him making the comments and then
for them to turn around a week later and firing
the head coach would send a message to the locker room.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
That Ay two was in George. Yeah, like he calls
the show.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I wonder if that actually bought Mike McDaniel some time
to where as you mentioned earlier, the heat's not on
him right now, the heat's on the quarterback.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
Maybe that bottom some time.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
He certainly needs to play better. When you come out
in the media and say those things, I mean, he's
put the bulls eye on himself. So really, in theory,
everybody's off the hook for now. I can do whatever
they want to do, whatever they want.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
You think they shut up late to the team meeting again,
I want to come back on to the players only meeting.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
They probably just shut up.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
But fifteen twenty minutes late, I get that's like get
a visual in my head or what to of?

Speaker 2 (18:25):
I see?

Speaker 6 (18:26):
Look there they go again, like he that dude that
go run into the boss and be like boss, like.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
They laid again here the stupid shut up, stupid.

Speaker 7 (18:39):
You know what.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
The toughest part about this is, though, is and tell
me if I'm wrong, but this is my perspective from
the quarterback side of things. Defensive players respect you when
you play tough as a quarterback. Yeah, when you get
knocked around, you get the crap kicked out of you,
and you keep getting back up like there's a respect
even if the play isn't great. I mean, obviously you'd

(19:02):
love it to be the guy out there slinging it,
playing with all that stuff, but when you're constantly getting up,
I mean I kind of look at like Baker Mayfield
and how fiery he gets sometimes after he gets knocked
down or gets into whether he's scrambling or whether he
gets you know, hit, or something happens when he pops
back up and he's kind of yapping. It's not just
the offense gets fired up. The defense gets fired up,

(19:23):
I think too, because they see that as well. And
I think that's one of the issues with two is
he's kind of fragile in the sense of just how
he has to play, and you're always like, oh, is
it gonna be like the next hit because of the
previous injuries and concussions. Even though like he's he's been
tough enough to play through a lot. There's just kind
of that thought where like he's also missed time and

(19:46):
has kind of been fragile in that way. Like to me,
I think that's one of the things where if you
look at the locker room dynamics, it's probably hard for
a lot of those guys on defense to feel as.

Speaker 7 (19:58):
Like they got his back or they're more.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Confident in him when they're not sure like which hit
could take him out of the game.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
Yeah, I think if there's that aspect of it, but
then there's the aspect of like what are you doing?
Like like if I was his teammate, if I was
his teammate and I was like an older teammate, if
I was an older teammate, I would go to him.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
I go to him be like what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Bro?

Speaker 6 (20:28):
Like you do understand how important you are to our team?
Like you can't do that. You can't have mental lapses
like that, my guy, Like your your reputation and how
people feel about you is super important in that locker
room man for our success.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
What are you doing? Shut up stupid? Like why? Why?

Speaker 6 (20:51):
Like we got to figure out how we fix this bro,
cause you got dudes that just don't you know, like,
you can't just you can't just you can't just ignore that.
You can't breeze over if you've if you've rubbed, or
if you come across wrong to the rest of the
locker room.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
It's just it's just going.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
To make sure guys are coming to players meetings. You know,
we have guys who are missing players meetings. We have
guys who you know, aren't showing up on time and
aren't doing the things for asking them to do.

Speaker 6 (21:21):
Yeah, what are they say in the background, Well, I say,
shut up, stupid boo.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Two pros and a cup of Joe.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you here. Uh, we are going to catch up with
one of the best players in the country coming up
here in just a couple of moments from now. I
want to let you know though, that everyone knows first
impressions start with the first coat. That's why you can
trust Kills primers, very smooth and professional finish kills primers
now available exclusively at the Home Depot. If you're a pro,

(21:52):
you know, sponsored by the Home Depot. This is a
man who's going to be a pro. And he's going
to be a pro, very very radio pro. Yeah, basically
right now, one of the best players in the country.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
I hate him.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
He is.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Jeremiah Love notre Dame, running back with us here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Jeremiah, good morning. How are we feeling.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
I'm going good?

Speaker 2 (22:11):
What's up? Playmaker?

Speaker 8 (22:17):
Go or what?

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Man? It's a big week.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
I wish it would have fell down versus Penn State
last year. I hate that you made such a great
highlight and and such an inspirational video against my alma mater.
But you know, hey, yeah, that's what great players do, right, Yeah,
they do so for people that aren't, you know, that

(22:43):
haven't been a part of the rivalry like you and
Brady obviously have been.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
What is this week like on campus for you guys
as you prepare for USC?

Speaker 4 (22:55):
I was, like I said, it's a rivalry game, so
we think of you know, every game we play is
just just the next game that we played. But this
game has a little bit something to it more against USC,
you know, fighting for that Jewish hiley, you know, don't
keep it where it belongs. But yeah, it's just a
little bit of extra energy, you know, flowing around a

(23:16):
little bit of extra hype. But at the end of
the day, we think of it as another game that
we're gonna play and go out there and dominate.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
Let's get some business out of the way.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
First, are Jeremiah, because you know we do an early
morning radio show.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
We're always looking.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
For like some sort of way to get us like
up and ready to go for our show. You got
like an energy drink, and did you drink or anything
else you can help us with?

Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yes, sirs, healthier man. So recently, you know, I partner
with us Celsias. I'm proud to be a part of
your team. Celsia is this football season and Celseia has
really been like the energy drink of college football. You know,
it's just it's just an honor being a part of
such an impressive roster that they have of talent this year.

(24:00):
You got me k club Nick from Clemson, you know
k lob Downs from Ohio State, and then I think
Bryce Underwood from Michigan. So Celsius is the energy drink
of college football, and it powers me through my day,
through my football, through my academics. Like it's just my
go to energy drink.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
So so you're saying.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
I live fit every single day, and they you know,
Celsius is different from other energy drinks. I feel like
it is an alternative, you know, over like your typic
of energy energy drinks with all the sugar and stuff
like Celsius has zero sugar. It has good vitamins in there.
Like it's just different. And like you said, you live

(24:45):
fit every single day. You want to be fit, and
I think it supports, you know, my lifestyle, trying to
be fit and be the best version of myself every
single day.

Speaker 5 (24:57):
If I drink Celsius, I can run like you. I could,
I could like hurdle people like you.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Man, it might bring in it. You're in it. You're
in it superpowers. Man. It might just you know, spark something.

Speaker 7 (25:09):
You know what I'm saying. If it could do that, Man,
I'm on, I'm getting old. Bro.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
You could tell him the truth. You can tell him
the truth. You can tell him the truth.

Speaker 8 (25:21):
Man.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
Hey, look, so I'll just hand off to you the
whole time.

Speaker 7 (25:25):
Watch the show.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Man. You talked about that fit lifestyle.

Speaker 6 (25:29):
You're you're a part of what live dot fit dot
go dot campaign.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Talk to me about talk to me about that. I
mean and how is your health.

Speaker 6 (25:38):
I may mention of your run against my Penn State
Nitney lines last year you were dealing with a little
bit of I believe it was a knee at the time.
How is your health now and and how does that
play a part in your life? You mentioned your lifestyle.
You're part of this campaign with the Live Fit Go campaign.
Talk just talk to me a little bit about your

(25:59):
health then and how that campaign played a part or
plays a part in what you represent.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Yes, sir, So you know obviously Celsius, they they lost
their Lifted Go campaign, which is basically just all about
inspiring the lift fit mindset, you know. And then you know,
as an athlete, like you know, I strive to embody
that and you know I love that the brand and
like encouraging others to do the same thing. You know,

(26:28):
I do this every single day. Like as a college athlete,
I'm like, I'm very very disciplined on what I put
into my body. So like you know, I work with
you know, my trainers, my coaches and nutrition staff and
just all the people that you don't have an impact
on my health in general, to ensure that, you know,
I'm at my peak, you know, all season long, and
Celsius is a part of that routine. Like I said,

(26:49):
it strides, I mean pushing me through my workouts, pushing
me through my day as like academically, like if I'm
having a hard morning, you know, drinking Celsius, you know
I'm energied up. I'm ready to go for the rest
of the day. But it's also just a more healthy
I mean, energy drinks are energy drinks, but Celsius, I
would say, is a more healthy energy drink or it's

(27:12):
an alternative to the energy drinks that are just stuff
with a bunch of sugar. So it's of course that
live Fit, Go, you know campaign, that that campaign of
being fit and just just being better for yourself. That
is how I do it as an athlete.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
And yeah, okay, he is Jeremiah Love, Notre Dame running
back joining us here on Fox Sports Radio two Pros
and a Cup of Joe here on FSR. SO with
it being the USC week, with it being Rivalry week, obviously,
you know this sort of highlights the pride you have
as a Notre Dame fighting Irish player and somebody who's

(27:51):
going to carry the flag for the program for.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
The rest of your life.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
What was it about Notre Dame that sold you on
wanting to make your college ex experience there in South Bend.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
I would say to people, I feel like that's what
it really comes down to. If you're going to any
place like you want to be surrounded with good people
and people that have your best interests at heart, and
Notre Dame just was that for me. You know, I
came in with a great coach like Gila McCullough. I
had coach free, you know, just a whole coaching staff

(28:23):
that I trusted in and undews they trusted me to,
you know, come in and work, put my head down
and do the things that I needed to do to
get to where I want to be. And also, you know,
help this team, you know, a change some some teams,
glory man, you know, go out there and do some
great things. But at the end of the day, it
was just the people. The school is great itself, but

(28:44):
I mean you wouldn't have Notre Dame without the people there,
you know, the people that include Notre Dame. So yeah,
I'm just the people sold me on Notre Dame.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Hey, Jeremiah, talking me a little bit about you and
Jendarian obviously everyone knows or at least a lot lot
of people obviously know your name.

Speaker 7 (29:02):
Jadarian too is very capable as a back.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
I mean I look at you two as a one
two combination as the best in college football, and obviously
you guys have bright futures ahead. Just talk to me
about your relationship, how you guys go about kind of
motivating each other and sharing the rock.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Yeah, Jadarian, he's a great back. He's also a great
friend and just a great person to be around off
the field. Obviously, on the field, JD makes explosives like
he just is at any time that he needs to. Like,
he's just as an explosive back as me, and I
would say, like, we just compliment each other very well.

(29:40):
I tell this to people a lot. So whenever we're
in a game, you know, say, you know, I go
out there and I see a certain look, and I
don't excre him that look like I should, Like say,
I don't get as many yards or score touchdown like
I should. You know, me and JD being so put
together and so like in tune with each other, go

(30:01):
back to the bench, tell JD what I see, and
he goes out there seas the same look and creates
an explosive and he's just going to get shoot ten
plus yards, We're gonna get a touchdown. And it happens
really literally every single game. And we communicate so well,
you know, just during the game and during practice, pushing
each other up, you know, be the best versions of

(30:22):
ourselves every single day. And uh that's just you know,
just what being that notre dame means. I feel like,
you know, being surrounded by just guys that are going
to push you to be the best version of yourself
every single day. And that's just the relationship that me
and Zadarian have. Just too big, two great backs, you know,
trying to put off another dame, put on for our

(30:44):
cities at home, and put on for you know, our
last names, and just uh just do something great. But yeah,
Jadarian is a great teammate, great brother.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
And uh yeah, mister love you.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
You guys have a new running backs coach and j
One Sider he is, that's my guy, Like he's the
O G. What's that been like working with him this year?
Has it has it been infitted you in in what ways?

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Yeah, it's benefited me a lot. Coach, cyd You know,
I like him a lot. He's just he's a great
person to be around, a very funny person off the field.
I feel like all the running backs and just people
on the team in general connect with him really well.
You know. Coach Cider brings a new perspective to the
running back room. He played quarterbacks. So one of the

(31:35):
things that he preaches to us every day is that
in order for us to be complete like football players,
we kind of just need to know what's going on,
you know, everywhere throughout the field, like as running backs. Uh.
He wants us to be able to play from the
from the head, from our head and not just our instincts.

(31:57):
So he teaches us about, you know, how to uncover
you know, coverages, just lots of things about what the
quarterback sees which could help us. You know, whenever we're
split out wide and we gotta you know, run a
route that we're reading it the safeties and if the
safety is higher, if it's covered too, like, are you
gonna like run like a vendor route? Are you gonna

(32:19):
run like a little fade or whatever. He just teaches
and stuff like that, just bigger things, and it's bigger
things than just being running back. He wants to understand
the full field. But yeah, in general, Cole Sider is
a great coach. I love him, and I just hope to,
you know, continue to build a great relationship with him

(32:39):
as a season goes on.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Notre Dame running back Jeremiah Love joining us here on
Fox Sports Radio. So take me back, because obviously the
start of the season, you.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Guys went bold.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
You had Miami, you had Texas A and m on
the schedule. As it turns out, both those teams top
teams in the country, both two and four in the
rankings right now, but you fall short. So what is
the vibe like, what's the conversation like for you guys
opening up the year two tough losses, sitting at oh
and two, knowing you probably got to run the table

(33:09):
if you want to make noise in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Yeah, so we we obviously we had a start to
the season that we didn't want to have start off
oh and too. But our mindset, you know, after those
two games, was just to keep going and keep and
keep staying together. As long as we do that week
by week, you know, we'll get to where we want
to get to. But it was hard, you know, starting

(33:35):
off all and two. But we just put our head
down and just worked every single day, and that's what
we're continuing to do. That's the mindset, you know, block
out the noise, like we're together and the only opinions
that matter is you know, the opinions in our team
room and the opinions in our position rooms, and that's
where we live by. We'll just go out every single

(33:55):
day and do the things that we need to do
to make sure that every week we're old, we're one know,
and that's what we're gonna do this week. You know,
we've been putting our hands down this week, making sure
that we're preparing the right ways, making sure we're covering
the right ways so we can go out there and
be and put ourselves and put the team in the
best psition possible to go out there and win the game.

(34:15):
And that's what's just gonna do every week.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Jeremiah, before we let you go, I do want to
ask you just who you are closest with on the
old line. Just give some love to those those big
boys up front off so you're paying the way for
you guys.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
I'll posted all those guys if I could say, like
the people that I that I'm like I talked to
the most, or like I joke around with the most.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
Who's the biggest character, But who's the funniest guy?

Speaker 4 (34:39):
Yeah, I would say Billy. Either Billy or Ask And
those two are like when I first came to her name,
I thought those who were like twins. They look exactly
the same, they act the same, like they're always in tune.
And you know, I play around with those guys a
lot like off the field, just joking around in the
locker room where it's playing ping pong, whatever it may be. Like,

(35:01):
those guys are always just fun to be around. And
then uh, Nap too, he's a character off the field.
Nap a meal definitely a meal and Gardy b two
Like those all five of those guys are just great
to be around, fun to be around off the field.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
What do you think about Elijah Burths, Oh.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
He's great man. He put on a he put on
a show in spring ball and then he has continued
to evolved ever since. You know, he's been at Notre Dame.
I feel like he's going to be that guy for
Notre Dame. Whenever his time comes. He puts his head
down and works every single day, and you know, I
see it as coach sees it, and I feel like

(35:41):
everybody on the team sees it. But yeah, Elijah, he's nice.
He was nice as soon as he soon as he
got he was making some crazy plays. So his future
is bright.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Jeremiah Love Notre Dame running back with us here on
behalf of Celsius. We appreciate the time. Good luck this
week end, and good luck the rest of the way.

Speaker 6 (36:01):
Man Iris go Irish jish.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Yeah, forty five to one, by the way to win
the Heisman. On drafts on the list, I say you.

Speaker 5 (36:16):
Better lay that bet now because if he goes off
this week, that's only gonna go up from there.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Guy's gonna be a first round draft pick.

Speaker 7 (36:25):
He's number two on Mel Kuiper's Big Boy Guy.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Now.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
Now, I don't know how much he you know, I
think he's the best overall player, you know. So I
think Kuiper's putting a premium on quarterbacks when I looked
at it, But I think you put him. Jeremiah Smith
isn't draft eligible, but Caleb Downs is. I think him
and Downs are the two best players in college football.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
There was I saw somebody had sort of a mock
draft or projection as to where they think Jeremiah Love
could end up, and they're like, oh, perfect fit for
him would be the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
He's not last, could you imagine? But is he gonna
last to the late twenties? Potentially?

Speaker 7 (37:03):
No, But also you can see them making a move
to go up and get him.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
I mean, the only reason, the only reason he would
is because the running back position. But one of the
things he's done this year is they've used him more
out of the backfield as a pass catching threat. So
I mean, I imagine him in that offense. I mean,
and honestly, like when when he first got to Notre Dame,
when I watched him, I was like, oh, guys, like
the closest thing we've had to Reggie Bush, you know,

(37:30):
as far as his explosiveness, what he does when he
gets to Knowmanfield, Like, he's the type of player that
takes your breathway you expect him to score, you know it.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
It's that he's that sort of player.

Speaker 5 (37:40):
So I can't wait to see, you know, what he
does this week really the rest of the season. Him
and Jendarian Price are so much fun to watch.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Man.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
Those two are like two of the best running backs.
They're both gonna get drafted. They'll both you know, be
high in next year's NFL draft, but two just really
really good players.

Speaker 6 (38:00):
I'll tell you what. He's one of those types of
guys that is deserving of. Yeah, some original Louisiana hot
sauce on his food. Bet you he might use that
on his pregame plate. You never know. But it's the
perfect balance of peppers, vinegar and soap. Like I said,
you can put it on your wings, you nachos, your burgers,
whatever it is you want to hit, your tailgate, pregame meal,

(38:22):
whatever it is, whatever food you want taste better. You
want to put that bold, hand crafted flavor of that
original Louisiana hot sauce on it.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
That's Louisiana Hot. Bye.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
It is two Pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. And speaking of hot, Yeah, Lorena's
got the leftover's.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
Compext here and what did you just do? There? There
are what did you just do?

Speaker 1 (38:45):
There are dumb people and then there's this guy. Find
out who we're talking about. It was right here at
FS so.

Patti speaks, Hey, yeah, whatever, it's boy.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
What's up? Jonas LeVar Brady, what's going on? Guys?

Speaker 8 (40:44):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Oh man?

Speaker 8 (40:46):
Well, guys, in case you missed it, we got it.
We got a good one for us here. So I
actually have sound for this. But before I go into that,
it's about John Degannon. He was asked at a press
conference recently with in lieu of the whole Mercado situation,
with that whole you know, getting fine thing. A reporter
asked him, you know, Jonathan, how do you figure out,

(41:08):
you know, taking the emotion out of the game, like,
you know, when you're coaching and you know what. He
responded with something like this, how.

Speaker 11 (41:16):
Early in your career did you have to start trying
to figure out how to take the emotion out of coaching?
As far as when you have all these injuries and
you have all these different pieces when's the first time
that you can.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
Recall it two thousand and seven when our quarterback went
to jail, dail, coach.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Thank you, it's the coach. Thank you? Is what does
it for me?

Speaker 8 (41:44):
Here?

Speaker 1 (41:46):
That's a guy who knows he's on the hot scene.

Speaker 5 (41:51):
I also point out the obvious he's referring to his
time with the Atlanta Falcons when Michael Vick went to.

Speaker 7 (41:57):
Jail for the legal dog ring. That was what he
was referencing.

Speaker 5 (42:04):
But man, that that made its rounds too unhon social
media yesterday.

Speaker 6 (42:11):
He clearly hasn't learned to remove his emotions from situations.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
Right. Oh that seems warm.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Yeah, that's not that's not gonna end well for him.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
They don't look good, man, Well, they don't look good.
And I don't think.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
I don't think he was thrilled with You know, what
was the quote from the one GM rival GM that
said he got his balls cut off in front.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Of the team. Cas find that.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
So it just feels like that's that's going in the
wrong directed in a hurry tang. So if you watch
the video of him, he's so matter of fact, it's
so uncomfortable and feel like, hey, thanks coach.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
That really into play.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
Just the ending again, Patrick, if you can, like they
didn't know.

Speaker 7 (43:07):
They didn't know how you react.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
To that, coach?

Speaker 3 (43:15):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (43:18):
All right, got swear.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Brady, thank you and leaves. Uh.

Speaker 8 (43:25):
So that said, we got another one here, so we
all know we have a new American pope, right, popolo,
So let me tie it in here. He is a
White Sox fan, as as though everybody kind of knows.
So a little bit of some baseball rivalry happened just recently. So, uh,
I guess he was uh he was doing in the
crowd and someone was chanting to the pope, hey go Cubs,

(43:47):
and you know, waving at him. So he responded back
in Spanish, mind you han pardito, and that is in English.
They lost. He was taking a dig at the Chicago Cubs.
Cause again, the pope is a white Sox fan.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
Yeah, he's disqualified from conversation on that on basis, on
that basis alone, that's it. He's a white Sox fan.
Doesn't count. That's one of the worst teams in baseball historically.
He's not allowed to throw a shade.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
He's just doesn't.

Speaker 6 (44:15):
He have to be all the way neutral and have
no sides because he has been tasked with blessing all
of them.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
He's on God's side. That's fine, you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (44:24):
It's a good point. It's a good point.

Speaker 5 (44:26):
Like like Sister Jean kind of became polarizing. We all
loved her for her fandom, but then you're like, all right,
now my team is playing against you. I kind of
want to beat Sister Jean's ass, you know, like you
don't want to want to mature that territory, right, I
have to say it, like that's how people took that.
Can't venture into the sports world. Otherwise it gets nasty.

(44:49):
They throw their faith to the side and they're like, no,
the whistle blew, we're in between the lines.

Speaker 7 (44:54):
Anything goes.

Speaker 2 (44:55):
Yeah, yeah, well you know it's somebody.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Let the Pope know that the White Sox are forty
two games under five hundred this year.

Speaker 7 (45:04):
Let him know that.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
See what you see what? He responds back with an
Italian what a joke. Team's a laughing stock of the city.
He's sitting there throwing shade, said in Italian?

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Yeah was that Italian? He said in Spanish? Spanish? Oh
I should have known that.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
There you go, Oops, Jonas, I missed those vows asslluego.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Hey, whatever you say, brother, check you out? What is that?
Check you out? Tomorrow see Poppy
