Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio. Happy for the July It is the Dan
Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington Jonas
knocks in for DP and the guys. Now you can
hear LaVar and I and Brady Quinn weekday mornings before
the Dan Patrick Show on Two Pros and a Cup

(00:20):
of Joe six am Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific, but
with Brady Quinn not here. LaVar, Arrington and I do
a show called Black and Drag because LaVar's LeVar, and
I'm really pale. So you play it with hold.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Get better explanation than that, Well your your vampire and
I'm a black man. That's correct. So there's my quota.
So there's people that they got say my skate color.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Everybody, there's my color.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
And I call Jonas Dracula, Dracula's kid, Dracula's brother cousin.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Because LaVar and LaVar claimed said he saw me walk
in public one time and he was hunting and I
turned my head around in one hundred and eighty degrees
looking for something to sink my teeth into. I've seen it.
I'm just pale. I've seen it. But I've seen it.
It was the outfit.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
You totally fit all of the stereotypes of a if
it was a stereotype of a vampire in real life,
you fit the building in that man.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
You scared me.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And that's the part, that's the part of the story
that you left out, Like I was sitting on my balcony,
like far enough, well far enough away for you not
to be able to determine exactly my my location on
my balcony.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
And then you know what was the most insulting piece
of it all is that I start walking back towards
the hotel, and I've studied didn't turn around, and it
was walking backwards. LaVar started putting garlic inside a paintball
gun and firing it.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Oh bruh, the balcony at me, I wouldn't have been
wrong startled me. So when you turned and was looking
around for bodies, and then your eyes went up and
met my eyes.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
I see it's crazy. I see LeVar later, he's got
a flask on. I'm like, what do you got in there?
He's a holy water player. I'm not taking any chances
with you. Hell, your weird ass.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Weird ass, by the way, it is, why you'd be
so awake in the morning.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Man. I always tried to figure out why you're so
awake in the morning. Bro, I have it slept in
the seventeen hundred. That's your time to shine. It's still
dark out now. It has been a already an eventful
fourth of July for somebody. Now that's somebody we don't know.
We just know it's the somebody who's responsible for the

(02:42):
pair of panties that were laying in the courtyard.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I mean, why somebody got lucky there's a pair in
front of the studio and this this day and age,
this climate. Let me say, maybe somebody was unlucky.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Somebody might have got caught up, or somebody they got
caught up in the wrap sure of love, as Anita Baker.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
With, I would just say, that feels like something you
would want on you at all times unless things went
a certain way and and all of a sudden you realize, yeah,
you know, you don't need that. You know, maybe maybe
you want to get rid of the evidence. But me,
but here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
If it went down like that and you left your
panties like right then and there in the courtyard of
this office building. Don't like I know it's the fourth
of July, but we're here. There's some people. That's all
the security goes there. I mean, wouldn't somebody clean them up,
like when somebody just you know, scoop and score them

(03:40):
into the trash can or something. They just sitting right
there for everybody to see. Just some yellow panties. And
by the way, not to nitpick here, but it is
fourth of July. You've got three colors to choose from today.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yellow. Yellow wasn't on the it's not on it's not
on the menu. So get it together next time. If
you're going to celebrate fourth lie with a pair of
panties in the courtyard in front of the studio. Red
white or blue that's it or green class hat. We
are in La Great Point, Uh, that's what. That's what

(04:20):
we're working with here on this fourth of July. So
hope everybody has a safe one. By the way, we
are brought to you by tire raq dot Com. For
over forty years, Tyraq has been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped
fast and free backed by free Road, has a protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire rack
dot com the way tire buying should be. All right,

(04:42):
So we've got conflicting reports here. Marykacabin of Cleveland dot
Com says that Kenny Pickett will have the advantage in
the Browns quarterback battle, writing Thursday that pickets superpower will
be his mobility that will enable the Browns to be
creative and unpred dita Bolt and Stefanski's offense. Specifically, Kavit

(05:02):
said that Stefanski will give Picket more of an opportunity
to run the keepers, run pass options, and other plays
that rely on his strengths. Now the athletic Zach Jackson
added that Flacco, Joe Flacco, is the favorite to emerge
from a complicated four man quarterback competition and win the
starting job out of week one. All Right, guess what

(05:24):
everything's on the table in Cleveland? Okay, this idea that like,
one guy's got the advantage, No, the other guy's got
the advantage. Aren't they all kind of in the same spot.
It's a team that nobody really expects a whole lot from.
You're probably a stopgap quarterback because of all the picks
you acquired for next year in the trade with Jacksonville.

(05:46):
So this idea that, well, Flaco's got the advantage, Kenny
Pickett's got the advantage. Dude, who's to say Dylan Gabriel
and shud Or Sanders don't have the advantage. Everything, everything
should be on the table.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Though in Cleveland say this everything in theory, what you're
saying is correct. But you have a forty year old
Joe Flacco who has a body of work, and it's no,
it's really in a way, it's really no different than
Aaron Rodgers. Both have one super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Now. Granted, people, oh, I'm outraged.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Aaron Rodgers has all of these these MVP awards and
dah da dah he's a first ballot Hall of Famer.
You're right, but not today. You know what he is today.
You know what he is today, sad. A guy over
forty that's going into what could perceivably be his last
year of football and he has one Super Bowl championship

(06:43):
kind of sounds the same to me. I mean, Joe
Flacco forty, he's got a Super Bowl, did really well,
so he has a body of work to stand on.
Kenny Pickett is still sitting on a limited resume. He
didn't do horribly bad in Pittsburgh. There were elements that
could have been working against him in Pittsburgh, and it's

(07:05):
led to him having an early departure from maybe possibly
being what the Steelers could have used or needed as a,
you know, starting quarterback. He was a winning record quarterback
when he departed Pittsburgh for Philly. Gets an opportunity to
learn from from that staff in Philadelphia. He claims, oh,

(07:27):
by the way, not as a starter, but he too
has a super Bowl ring on his resume as well.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Got playing time in that Super Bowl. Okay, that counts.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
You have two super Bowl winning quarterbacks on your roster.
I believe those are the Those are if you're saying
everything's on the table for consumption, those are the main courses.
Those are the one that's the turkey you brought out,
that's the ham you brought out, it's the fourth of July.
That's the ribs that you brought through. Like, that's those

(08:00):
two right there. Now as it applies to Dylan Gabriel
and Shador Sanders, I just honestly believe, and especially now
that we've seen the coverage of Shador Sanders seemingly kind
of cool off. The overwhelming amount of coverage on him,

(08:22):
I think was placing a target on Stefanski in this
Cleveland Browns team.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
But that has kind of it's tailed off.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
A little bit, and now it looks as though you're
getting into what it's really going to be going into
the training camp season, and I think that it's a
reality to say that they're not factors in getting on
the field. In fact, the biggest the biggest win for

(08:50):
Gabriel and for Sanders would be able to make the
active roster or possibly get on the practice squad and
see what happens from there. Does another team try to
claim your rights or whatever it may be, It may
end up putting you in a different situation on a
different team. But that's the reality for these these rookies

(09:12):
that that is tremendous. That is a tremendous hill to
climb to go from the fifth round to starter. It
is a tremendous climb to go from third round to starter.
When you have two guys that are in front of
you that are veterans and one has a lot of potential,
He's not he's not counted out as being just a

(09:33):
bust of a draft for the Steelers. He still has
some potential, and he's young. The other is older, and
you feel a little bit of comfort knowing that if
it doesn't work with this younger guy, that could potentially
be what we need. We have Joe Flacco to put
in that can steady and write the ship probably be
a great influence on the locker room. So Jonas, I

(09:54):
think that it's really not everything's on the table. If
you're looking at the two rookies, you're probably looking at it.
There's your corn right there, there's your corn on the
cop there's your macaroni and cheese, whatever it may be.
They're side dishes, but they are far from the main
dish in this course.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
My thought on it is this, I think everything should
be on the table because it's the Browns and the
situation they're in. They should not be closed minded to
any option at quarterback. And you know, you made some
comments a few weeks back about listen, just make suit
or the starter, like at this point, just make them
the starter, and you know, you got pushback on that

(10:32):
and some blowback, and my thought was, well why not,
Like why is everything just a surefire bet that it's
going to be Flacco or it's going to be Kenny Pickett.
Open this thing up, and whoever plays the best you're
going to get the opportunity. There shouldn't be any politics,
There shouldn't be any contractual obligation added into the mix.

(10:53):
Kenny picks. Tanny Pickett's not on a long term deal,
neither is Joe Flacco, and Dylan Gabriel and shad Or
Sanders are mid round draft picks. So I look at
I go, everything should be open for discussion when it
comes to this. Nobody's opinion or theory should be considered crazy.
Everything should be under open for discussion. I think it'll
be Flacco because I don't think Kevin Stefanski's got the

(11:16):
wiggle room to be able to survive another bad year
and then come back next but he has the wiggle
room to just throws the door Sanders in as I think.
I think Kevin Stefanski is looking at this going, dude,
I need to go with what's going to save my job.
I personally feel like that's going to be Joe Flacco,
but I don't think Stefanski's in a position to be like,
oh no, no, no, no, no no, I've got time or

(11:38):
I've got this, I can I can kind of, you know,
play with this or experiment with that. If I'm Kevin Stefanski,
I'm like, look, I know what this organization has. They've
got multiple first round draft picks next year. Next year
is a much better that's the opinion from the experts,
much better quarterback draft class. But I've got to produce
at some point now or else I'm not going to

(12:02):
be here next year. And if I'm Stefanski, he's got
to take a look at everything everything to figure out
what is what is my best path to try and
keep my gig. I think it's gonna be Flacco. But
this idea that like, well, no, it's it's this and
so and so's got the advantage and that person's got
the advantage. Dude, you have no idea. Until you get

(12:22):
to training camping into games, you have no clue the.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Real the real measurement here is it's very difficult to
be able to see if a rookie that's never played
is ready. You can get an indicator of their their
IQ by how they pick up the playbook, how they
handle their reads on the field, how they even give
the the play call, how they command the team you

(12:48):
know and how they approach the play. But until you're
in a game, a real game, not even a preseason game,
a real game where they can hit you and everything
matters and everything counts. This is not for scrimmage for play,
This is not for ss and giggles.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
This is real bullets in the chamber that are coming
at you.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Now.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
In those games, there are only two guys that have
those types of reps under their belts. There are only
two guys that have that type of film on their resume,
and it's not those rookies. So if everything that you're
saying is to remain and hold true that this is
his time to do it, or get off of the
esser and move on and let somebody else get on

(13:33):
the pot, then he is not. To me. That is
not a wise and a prudent move to put in
a third rounder or a fifth rounder to start. I
just don't see it. And there's no reason to have
had Picket or or Flacco on the roster if that's
what you were going to do, because you may lose

(13:55):
your job by the end of the third, fourth week,
fifth week. You may lose your job, depending on how
badly or how poorly they look. That's the potential of
what you face now. Granted, if you did it and
it works out, that's different. That's different. You look like
a genius. Nobody has anything to say, Oh my gosh,

(14:15):
we said this all along, boom boom boom, But who
is that? Which rookie is that? I don't even think
we know which rookie that is? Like you said, there's
been reports like that, have been conflicting reports on who's
actually having the most impact as a rookie on the
mini camps and the.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
OTAs that have taken place.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
So to me, right now, the most feasible approach to this,
if I'm Stefanski in the Cleveland Browns, is to go
with the guy that you know is going to give
you the best opportunity to win. That sounds cliche, but
in a redundant but that's what it is. I think
that's Joe Flacco. If they're giving it to Kenny Pickett

(14:55):
based off of where they are right now, I wouldn't
say it's totally egregious. All I would say is is
that he's not going to have a whole lot of
time if he doesn't get in there and show that
he can get it done, and they can make things
work very quickly, very early. I would not be surprised
if it's shifted to Flaco as quickly as possible. If

(15:16):
Flaco doesn't get it done, he stays in. Listen, he
stays in as the starting quarterback, and they're going to
try to figure it out for the duration of the season.
And the only way pick it comes back in is
if Flaco gets hurt and can't continue on and then
only then will that show or give any relevance to

(15:38):
those rookies as to what they may do. Again, I
still believe this is a boom or bus proposition with
Shador Sanders. If you're not really working to get him
into that rotation of playing, I don't really see that
they have the value that it holds value to hold
four quarterbacks. One of those, one of those draft picks

(15:59):
face get released from that team. And I'm telling you,
fifth round pick versus third round pick, it's a no
brainer that it's the fifth round pick. Take the names
out of it. It's a no brainer that if you're
going to release a quarterback on your team when you can,
when you're generally only carrying two to three quarterbacks at

(16:22):
that position. There's a strong possibility that Gabriel ends up
on the practice squad and Shador Sanders ends up going elsewhere,
becoming a free agent through release.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
I mean sometimes when I'm betting on horses, because I
don't know what the hell I'm doing, I'll just bet
like four horses to win and be like, you know,
I mean, something's got to hit. You know, it's like
a ten to twelve horse fields. Something's got to hit.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
I do that.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Would Roulette, Oh yeah, you bet the inside.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
And it'll beat the hell out of you trying to
come up with what you think, what strategy is going
to win.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Here's what's great about this. You can I think you
can bet on the Browns starting quarterback. Would literally place
a bed on all four because I think anything could happen.
I really did, like they're they're in such a spine.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I've done that in Roulette and it landed on Green.
Took all my mind. I think Lee was with me.
I put all this cash down on evens odds black red.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
That bit's hit Green. Oh yeah, I wouldn't. I would
never gamble again.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Took all my cash. I mean I put it all
out there.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah, I'd be looking ashtrays. I'd be uh, I'd be
jumping in the Blagio fountain like it'd be.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
That's terrible. You want to know the point. You want
to know the ultimate point of that story. Maybe these
quarterbacks are red and black and evens and odds. You
don't have any green on your team. Maybe you're green
is rehabbing.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Or.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Maybe maybe you're green. Maybe you're green is rehabbing. Maybe
maybe he's sitting there and and in the wings he's
getting healthy. Everybody he's talking about all these quarterbacks right here.
What are you going to do with her? These guys?
He's steady rehabbing, getting healthy. And then he comes back
like Superman in a moment of glory and is now

(18:13):
made whole with his big contract and lives up to
all of the expectations he had coming in.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Hey, the the NFL's most expensive mentor.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
That would be an amazing That would be an amazing
storyline that developed.

Happy Fourth of July. Here, LeVar Arrington knocks in for
the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming
up in about twenty minutes from now, we are going
to have another edition of in case you missed it.
For those of you that are not familiar with that.
We've got stories from around the world of sports that
might have flown by as you were getting ready for

(20:18):
the Fourth of July festivities, and so we will have
those stories for you again about twenty minutes from now
here on FSR. I will say this, I went to
the grocery store yesterday. How was that awful idea? Really
awful idea. It's just everybody you know, running to just
buy all the same stuff, hot dog buns, hot dogs,
Like I'm it just really it's terrible needed to get

(20:42):
that done.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Like the few times, the very few times that I
can muster up the energy to go into a grocery store,
it's a very very uh It's one of the best
places that people watch. Ever, I'm sure I look like
a croup of ZOI because I'm a watcher. I go
to the grove, I'll go find me a nice little

(21:05):
little bench to sit on, and I just watch.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
I just people watch watching. What what do you mean?
What do you what do you mean?

Speaker 2 (21:13):
What do you mean watching what? I don't do anything else? Jonas, No,
I'm just saying, like, what do you loo get weird
of people watching?

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yes, that's what I said. Okay, but I mean like,
is there like a particular type of person that you're watching.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
No, that's why it's called people watching. I didn't it's
not specified. You know, you watch how like you look
at I'm a judgmental person. I'll say that I look
at people and I judge what I see. Like I
see a couple, I judge them, you know, the woman,
the woman, man, the man, woman man, whatever. I be judging,

(21:48):
Like now they fit, Now they don't fit? Like why
are they together? I could see why they're together. Oh
that's a pretty family. That is not a pretty family.
They got money, they broke, They looking to grab something.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Off the shelves.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
They using the kids too, them kids right there, spoiled
his hell, like I'd be.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Judgmental as hell when people watch. I'd be doing it
at the grocery stores too, but it'd be a really
good look at people in grocery stores. Oh that's what
I was wondering. If that's like a preference.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
It's not a preference, but if you want, if I
were single in twenty twenty five, if I were a
single guy, I would be shopping at a grocery store,
a nice one, and I would be getting super foods
because that's where they be.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Oh yeah, look right around the corner here there's the
Whole Foods. Yeah, oh, some spinach for radio people. We
call that whole paychecks.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
And you get spinach, you get some what they call
a king wall.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
You don't even want that stuff. You don't even want
to throw it away.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
When he gets to the park, when you're putting it
in your cart, they're like, Oh, this guy cares about hisselff,
he eats healthy. You gotta have a hook these days,
because it's got a big hell trying to be a
single And that's what he found.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
That's our deadliest catch. Fill up a crate full of quinoa,
throw it into the water. What are they might on.
Oh no, he grabbed broccoli. He's a rookie. Nope, he
didn't know.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
BROCCOLI's dropped on the list. He's a faker. He's not
really eating healthy. And they look for your body type too,
you know what I mean. You gotta look like you
gotta look like you work out. You can look like
you're trying to get in shape or back into shape.
You gotta look in shape. Then you could go people
watch and you can make it work out of grocery store. Yeah,

(23:47):
there you go.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
I mean, there's only one thing that you would take
with you that would make really seal the deal, and
that's a Rapid Radio. Yeah, rapping Radio, the official walkie
talkie the Dan Patrick Show. It's a push to talk
service with national LTE coverage, requiring no subscriptions. Ever. Get
them before bad weather occurs. Visit rapid Radios dot com
now for up to sixty percent off and free shipping.

(24:08):
So remember them. John Hwsmith. John HW Smith was on
the on the Miami Dolphins. Yeah, he was on Toront
Armstead's podcast recently and he was just discussing his departure
from Miami and he was disappointed about it. He thought

(24:29):
that they you know he would be there the rest
of his career, like he had had designs on that,
and for whatever reason, while they thought that communication would
pick up and they would have some sort of an
extension come through after the year that he had, nothing
happened and beat him really here much and he was
a little bit disappointed about it, and then ultimately he
ended up getting traded to the Steelers. So it does

(24:53):
bring up the question. And we talked with Albert Breer
of the MMQB dot Com yesterday and ab kind of
laid out exactly why maybe there should be cause for
concern with what Miami is doing this offseason.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
It's going to involve a word that they will not
use when speaking about what they're doing publicly, and that
word is rebuilt. You know, I think they had this
window where to Ozona's rookie contract, they could expend aggressively,
they could build aggressively, and you know, I think, like,
if you really add up everything that's happened this offseason,

(25:30):
it's sort of an acknowledgment. Okay, like we need to
move on to the next phase. Now, we need to
move on to the phase where we have to build
a little bit differently because we have our quarterback on
a big second contract. They could delay that by a
year or two if they wanted to, but doing that
would have to come with a real belief that you're
that close to a championship. And if you're being real
with yourself and you're Miami, do you feel that way?

(25:51):
But do you feel like you're a player or two
away from from knocking on the door and knocking off
the Chiefs or the Ravens, or the or the Bengals
or the you know, or the Bills, Like I don't,
I don't know you feel that way?

Speaker 1 (26:06):
You know?

Speaker 4 (26:06):
So I think where they are right now, Toront Armstead retires,
Ramsey's traded. I think they would listen on Tyreek Hill.
They've got some holes in the roster they didn't have before.
Two headreshers both having dealt with very serious injuries, and
Bradley Chubb and and Jalen Phillips, Like I just think
if you look at the team, you say to yourself, like,
how many of these guys are going to be here

(26:27):
in two years? I think you can name two guys
to me. It's It's It's it's Jalen Waddle and it's
shop Robinson. I guess I should say Tua also, right.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
So, now that you lay it out like that, Albert Breer,
I don't know how anybody's feeling optimistic about the Dolphins
going into next year. It does feel like there was
this window of time Tua couldn't stay healthy. And maybe
that was that because there was a time where Mike

(26:58):
McDaniel was brought in. It was like, man, this is
what a great hire, sort of a a unique guy
who who has his own style of coaching and it's
and it's working. And look what he's done with Tua.
And after the Brian Flores experiment, it didn't work all
that well. And it just goes to show you how
small the window of opportunity is to really be competing

(27:20):
for championships, and and the way Albert lays it out,
because we were wondering, like what is the plan? Like
what are they doing here? And so now when you
hear conversations of listen, if somebody called about Tyreek Hill,
they'd listen. This is a rebuild. Miami's rebuilding. Like there's
no other way to put it.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
I mean, it's just hard for me to look at
at an acquisition of Minka Fitzpatrick as saying, that's the
indicator of a rebuild. He's not that's not a young guy.
He's not a he's not a younger guy. And John
U is not a younger guy. And Patrick Patrick, oh god,

(28:01):
Jalen Ramsey, it's not a young guy. These are guys
like John New is in what he's got eight years in? Patrick? Uh?

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Why do I keep calling Patrick?

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Uh? Jalen Ramsey's got how many years in? He's he's
getting up there. I mean, he's got to have thirty one.
So I mean, I'm not gonna I'm not going to
go fully down the lane of this is really a
rebuild altogether, because they still have TUA and they still

(28:34):
have to rekill, and they have some weapons, and they
do have a young promising guy and Chot Robinson on
that team, and they do have a Jayleen.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Waddle to go with uh, to go with the Cheetah.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
I just to me, I think that that may be
a tat bit of an overreaction. I don't think they're
too much in any worse position than what they were
last year. Granted, John W. New was a top rated
tight end, I mean out of you know, all the
tight ends he was fourth in receiving yards from last season,

(29:10):
the best.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Season of his career.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
That might have been it. That might have been it.
I mean, he's in into year nine. I believe that
might have been it. You don't know.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
I don't know that you can value saying that you, Oh, you.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Got rid of John Whot, that's it, pack it up,
ain't gonna have a good year now.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
I don't think that.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
You base that type of judgment off of who they
just allowed to depart. I really don't, because it was
like Jaylen Ramsey was like.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
A swing guy.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Like you could get prime, big play making Ramsey, or
you could get he's going to get hurt, or it
looks like he's losing a step, whatever it may be.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
It could go either way.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
So to me, I'm not I'm not as down on it. Again,
I would say they haven't been and this is kind
of works in their their favor in a way. They
haven't really been relevant enough as winners for it to
be such a big deal to say if they're going
in the direction of rebuilding or not. Damn, it's just

(30:21):
the truth. It's just the truth. I mean, McDaniel was
taking them in the right direction. You don't even count.
You don't even count. I mean, if we're talking about
what are you rebuilding from? Where are you rebuilding from?
Tell me, well, it's a rebuilding. Mark's a rebuild. What
are you rebuilding for?

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Right? If we're gonna be fair here, they did win
a playoff game in like two thousand, so you know
they in the two thousands. Yeah, like twenty five years ago.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
They want to play out Okay, So so again I'm
gonna ask the question, like, we're looking at this Miami
Dolphins team. They made this, this trade, This signifies and
indicates the rebuild. What exactly what are what exactly are

(31:13):
they what? What exactly are they rebuilding from? And if
you can answer that question, then to me, the relevance
of the topic comes more to line. The relevance of
the topic becomes more, uh, a more valuable topic.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Well, they were a playoff team not long ago, and
I don't I just it felt like this was a
team where, man, if they could just they could just
keep too a healthy, if they could just you know,
if they could keep them on the field, because when
he's on the field, they produce the splits. The numbers
are completely different. You're going to say the same exact

(31:55):
thing for this year's team. I just think it's are
they not.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Going to be at least a competitive team? If to
A stays on the field, if.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Two is on the field, I think they're competitive. But
I don't think they're a legitimate contender. They weren't a
legitimate contender last damn. They were not a legitimate contender.
The year before they were not. They were not. You
didn't think they were a threat to Buffalo, No, damn.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
A threat to maybe still a game here and there
from one of them team, but a threat like to win,
to win it, a true contender to get into the
playoffs and win it coming out of the AFC, as
you always make it a point to say, coming out
of the AFC side of what's going on, win it,
true contender. When had the Miami Dolphins been been considered

(32:47):
to be a possible favorite to make it to the
to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Like eighty four? How old were you? Better?

Speaker 4 (32:56):
Nothing?

Speaker 1 (32:57):
How old were you? I was six? You were just
you're just an itch in your daddy's pad. Dang. Oh yeah,
it's just.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
That's all I'm saund Like, let's not get carried away here,
like I've continued to have conversations about Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Playoff team two of the last three years.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Okay, and they'll probably make a run for the playoffs
this year.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
I don't think it's happening. I don't think their team.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
I don't think their team is far off from being
a playoff team. I think whatever it was their trajectory
was last year, it's really no different this year. What's
the difference. What is the major difference of this year's
Miami team going into the season versus last year's.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Less talented A year older, a year older. I'll give you.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Less talented, not necessarily, not necessarily. And if that's the case,
If that's the case, again, does that signify a rebuilt
getting less talented? What is that less talented?

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Based on?

Speaker 2 (34:00):
You lost John new Is that what we're basing this
off of? He was not that he was not that's
a good one. That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
All I know. This is what I know.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
If if rebuilding means you're digressing, you're you're regressing and
potential and accomplishment, why does that have to be considered
a rebuild. Maybe it's just a bad decision, Maybe you
maybe it was a good decision that we didn't understand
the reasoning why the decision was made. That's what I'm

(34:31):
hoping it is for the Steelers. Again, I continue to
bring the Steelers up. The relevance of talking about the
Steelers is that they are relevant. They are a team
that you look at and say, their possibility to contend
for the AFC Nord. They are a possibility to be
able to possibly do something in the playoffs. So every
single decision in that organization, in that market, it matters.

(34:54):
But the Miami Dolphins, I'm sorry, for better or for worse,
if you're a Dolphins fan. I mean, I'm just doing
my job. But I gotta tell you the truth is,
y'all haven't made anybody care. This is really a conversation
of formatics on July fourth, when most people are.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Off and we're filling time.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Y'all aren't relevant like that because y'all haven't won. The
relevance of the Miami Dolphins is the weather, the idea
of being down in South Beach, which by the way,
it ain't even in South Beach. Miami isn't even in
South Beach. And the team that went undefeated, we're still
talking about the biggest relevance of the Dolphins is Don

(35:42):
Shula and Larry Zonka and Mark Duper and those guys,
because even Dan messed it up. Damn even Dan couldn't
get them back to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
To your point, though, when we were down there for
the Orange Bowl, the Penn State Notre Dame game, I
don't know, it just felt a little lacking as far
as the uh, the optimism and you know, the feeling
and vibe for the Dolphins down there just felling good.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Man, it's the Miami Hurricanes football team and everything else.
Then I guess the the Miami Heat coming a very
close second. Their baseball team. You know, it was the Marlins.
They do pretty good here and there.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Oh god, they're terrible Marlin. They've done good here and there.
But every time they win a World Series and just
trade everybody.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Away, well, at least they've done something here and there.
But but the Dolphins, the Dolphins are like the doormat
of Miami Athletics. Oh, make sure you wipe your feet off,
take your shoes off when you get inside. That's the
Dolphins until they until they prove otherwise. That's that's that's

(36:54):
their resume, Their resume. You can't get from from under
what your resume is They They've given nobody any reason
to think anything different.

Good Friday morning, everybody, Good morning Jonas, A good morning LeVar.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Guys.

Speaker 6 (38:36):
In case you missed this, yesterday, Donald Trump was speaking
at the Iowa State Fair Grounds. Uh, you know, previewing
America two fifty. Obviously this is the two hundred and
forty ninth fourth of July, God Bless America. But he
was previewing America two to fifty next year and saying
that every one of our National park battlefields and historic
sites are going to have special events in honor of

(38:58):
America two fifty. We're going to have a u f
C fight think of this on the grounds of the
White House.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Did you understand what he just said? I didn't clearly understand.
It was like so many.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
To celebrate the two and fiftieth birthday of the United States.
They're going to have a UFC fight at the White House. Okay, perfect,
that's sweet. I mean, what took so long to come
up with ideas like that?

Speaker 2 (39:23):
I mean, why not utilize the grounds a little more
than what you have?

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Why not take the player?

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Why not take the end season tournament, play it outside
in the yard of the White House. Anything that would
make the damn thing more interesting? I mean, why not.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
You're getting dominated today by the way rocket launcher.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Oh yeah you yeah, you had what you got and
rightfully so by the way, you get no pushback from
me on that.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
I mean, obviously not a a well attended event, the
UFC event of the White House. So I would imagine
security would make things a little bit different. Well, it
would be it will get in there. Well, I don't
think it would be for the fans.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
It would be I mean, it is for the fans,
but it would be I would assume invite only, right
that would this would be an exclusive event. Any event
that takes place in that in that place would be.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
And it's like like Sierra.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Getting the pits from her husband and running the football
through the laydown, you know, stuff like that was an
exclusive event.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
You have to be exclusive to see that. You remember
when they did Fox at the Field of Dreams game
at the old Field of Dreams field in Iowa. I
think you could only get eight thousand people there. I think,
so that's not for the amount of people, But that
event was for the television I was about to say,
And you get the streaming, so they're probably gonna do

(40:51):
massive numbers streaming of people streaming that wanting to watch that.
So that's probably a good move. Iowa say, will probably
attend that one too. What the Field of Dreams game.

Speaker 6 (41:01):
That will Field the Dreams in the UFC fight at
the Rose Gardens.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
I'm sure he would.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
I mean, imagine if they did a professional game of
Hide and Seek inside of the White House and they
and they epic and they showed it.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
I would watch it. I don't know why, but I would.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
It would be more interesting than some of these things,
these other sports out here.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
I'm just sad.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
Yeah, hide and seek, especially if you see bottoms just
laying randomly around after somebody's been sopped.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Yeah, Lee, do we have an update on whose panties
those are out in the courtyard? Yeah, I'll do a
forensic test right now. Oh good, they'll do that everybody.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
There's people that don't have homes around here, could be bad.
