we've probably missed his birthday the past two years.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Every year there, every single year, I don't know when
his birthday. Nobody tells me anything.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Twenty seven No, No, it's not October. So how can

he's taking some time off.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
For his birthday, which is nice, well deserved him. Yes, yes,
enjoyed Jonas.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
I know I'll not that he's the type that wants
to overly indulge himself, but I believe he will. I
believe he's doing something kind of cool, kind of special
for his birthday, so it.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Should be fun.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Should bet that.

Speaker 6 (02:46):
I'm not sure if you followed that that saga that
we talked about, because you don't follow the PGA, but
we did get an update.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
I did follow that, though, Okay, you know you got
You know why I follow stuff like this cute because
I'm always like and people say, oh, that's so inappropriate
or uncalled for, But I gotta be honest. The society
and the world we live in when things like this happen.
I pay attention just for the comps. Like the comps

(03:17):
of it all becomes more interesting to me than even
kind of what the storyline. And so, like, you know,
somebody hasn't done something like crazy wrong, and something like
this happens.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
How is it handled?

Speaker 5 (03:32):
You know, like there were no I don't think there
were any protest or or anything that took place outside
of Valhalla, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Like you start, you know what I mean? You know
what I'm getting?

Speaker 6 (03:45):
No, I mean, it's it hits on a societal cultural
level in a way, I understand what you mean, and
it is funny to see the reaction from people. My
stance has always been, every situation in circumstance.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Is a freak, yes, unique to that situation for cert.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
And too oftentimes the lazy approach that I think sometimes
we say in sports talks sometimes you know, on news
radio TV, is they just throw a blanket over the
whole thing.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
I think every situation should be treated the same.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Now, like one comment that I think is probably true,
but in this circumstance, it might be a little different, right,
Because if you don't know that person's a cop, you're
probably gonna, you know, might not treat them the exact
same way as you you would if you knew they
were a cop. Right, And in this instance, it sounds
like Scotty Scheffler didn't know that he was dealing with

(04:38):
a cop. Now, we've got a couple minutes of bodycam footage,
so we're gonna play the audio for you. So if
you don't know what happened to Scotty Scheffler back during
the PGA Championship a couple weeks ago now at Valhalla,
this is what led to the arrest of Scotty Scheffler.

Speaker 7 (04:58):
My house is right up that road, and so so
I was playing on getting here at five point fifty
this morning to start my work for my tea time.

Speaker 8 (05:04):
Yeah, I had to loop all the way around that way.
It took me about probably a half hour. Because I'm
pulling in here.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
The police officer up there told me to come the
opposite way with the traffic and then come in. And
as I was pulling in, my window was down and
the officer told me to stop. And as I was,
first of all, I did not know that he was
a police officer. I thought he was one of the
security guards that was mistaken. And as I was pulling
by me, grow.

Speaker 8 (05:26):
Stop stop right there. Why does that matter if.

Speaker 9 (05:28):
He's a security guard or a police officer because somebody's
telling you to stop.

Speaker 8 (05:31):
Yes, you're right, I should have stopped.

Speaker 7 (05:32):
I did get a little bit impatient because I'm I'm
quite late for my tea time. And as he was
reaching the car, he grabbed my shoulder and hit me like.

Speaker 8 (05:43):
I'm trying to get you to stop right yes, Oka.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
It seemed to be a little bit over aggressive because
the entrance was open okay, And I pulled a little
bit because I was afraid. I thought he was gonna
start hitting me. And I didn't know who he was.
He didn't tell me he was a police officer. I
didn't always saw it was a yellowjacket. What he was
doing the police officer.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
So the thing is he's wearing a uniform. Okay.

Speaker 9 (06:05):
He also was wearing the same jacket that I have
on the says police also on that if someone's telling
you to stop, no matter who it is, you don't
keep going. So what happened is you kept going and
you took him with you while he's a pedestrian.

Speaker 8 (06:19):
Okay, So you took him with your car, yes.

Speaker 9 (06:23):
And drug him okay, yeah, which is not a good
thing right everywhere. That was to make it so to
listen to me, so make it even worse. When he
asked you to get out of the car, he reviews
to get out of the car. I still did not
was not to wear he was a police officer.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
I was actually looking out the window of the car
to try to find a police officer.

Speaker 8 (06:37):
I asked, we're all right here, and I was there.
Believe me, sir, we're all wearing yellow vests. So you
can see this.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
If you knew he was a police officer, I would
have been much more or less afraid. But Pandic kind
of said that. As you can see, I'm still shaking
because I was afraid. I didn't know who he was.
He didn't say police, get out of the car. He
just hit me with his flashlight and ye'll get out
the car.

Speaker 8 (06:58):
So we're wearing a lot of please gears. That's surely
signing about it. If they were leaving me. If I
knew he was a police officer, I would have gone
out of the car.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
I don't know what to tell you other than well,
it was a little bit panic trying to get into
the golf course, and I.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Don't know what to do.

Speaker 8 (07:11):
But let's go back to the first point.

Speaker 9 (07:13):
Okay, no matter if you thought he was a police
officer or not, somebody have stuff.

Speaker 8 (07:16):
Why are were wearing yellow vest? Why do you think
we're wearing yellow vest so you can see us? Right? Yes,
so you can see us.

Speaker 9 (07:21):
And if somebody tells you to stop it, if it's
a traffic guard, security guard, anybody that made you stop
at that time, and you don't keep going.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Sure, So there you have it. Those are the comments
from Scotty Scheffler.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
Now that was not I believe Detective Gillis of the
Louisville p D. Brian Gillis, who was the officer that
he had said, had reached into the car and made
contact with him, and allegedly Scotty Scheffler had dragged at
one point, causing Gillis to fall. He actually was taking
the hospital for some of those injuries, and probably the

(07:54):
funniest part of the entire thing, not trying to make
light of the situation, but he did rip his pants
that were owed in the police report to be valued
at eighty dollars. So there's that the charges have been
dropped though against Scotty Scheffler. However, that doesn't mean this
necessarily stops here. Steve Romines, who I believe is the
as how you pronounced the last name of the attorney

(08:15):
that's representing Scotty Scheffler, also had talked about this, you know,
potentially being a lawsuit and used this quote unquote false
arrest in regards to Scotty Scheffler, which as anyone can hear,
clearly there was a misunderstanding. As we kind of pointed out,
he didn't know it was a police officer, and just
so there's more context of this too. Oftentimes there's not

(08:38):
that many police officers at the scene, usually early in
the morning at stark out. They weren't reflective vest their
security because they're handling something because of the death of
an individual that was hit by a shuttle bus.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
That was why there are so many cops at.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
That particular moment at the scene who are a part
of it. So it's understandable when these guys do this
every single week when they're going to a golf course,
that they end up, you know, seeing a bunch of
security and not realizing like they're actually police officers who
are in those vests, not security, because that's one of
the things the cop did not identify was the fact
that security was wearing the same thing as the police

(09:14):
officers too, the reflective vest that day.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
So I think you could see how there's a misunderstanding
all this, right.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
I mean, my take on it just initially is I mean,
I think I think the only person that was right
in the scenario was the officer that was on the
body cam that he was speaking with, right, I mean,
he was he seemed to have a problem like he's
just by sound of it, he sounded like he had
a little bit of a problem with Scheffler in the
way that he handled it. But those guys have a

(09:42):
job to do, and so many times I think we
lose track of the fact that first responders are what
they truly are, their first responders. So when you have
you know, firemen, when you have police officers, those those
men and women had have duties and they have escalated

(10:02):
jobs that they have to do. I think so many
times we paint this and it's an inaccurate depiction of
especially lately, just well not lately, but just historically speaking,
law enforcement gets a really really they get a horrible rap.
I'll say this, in a situation like this, it's such

(10:25):
a it's a hard it's a hard comprehension of this one,
because you have a weird ass mix. Right, you had
a death take place, but this death took place where
this this athlete is performing.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
And and so if you don't if you.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
Don't understand athlete life, and I think we had this
conversation before, right, if you don't understand athlete life, then
you you sit here and you look at and and
take the story and say Scheffler was in the wrong,
which he was.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
He was in the wrong.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
He should have complied and not like let that be known.
He should have complied period from there. But in these
scenarios like he said, look, my home is over here,
my tea time is at this time. The only reason
why we're all out here is because of people like me.
That's that's that's what should be stated. You're getting paid
to be out there and to be working because you're

(11:26):
you're doing an event that this guy is a star
of right, that would be like that would be like, you.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Know, here's another beatle in the world current past year Q.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
It'd be like the Beatles being like out from getting
to the stage, or it'd be like you know, some
type of performer that had a concert or whatever it
may be. When you get to the venue, there's a
lot of things going on. Like to think that he knew,
which I'm assuming he probably didn't know.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
But maybe he did. Even if he didn't know, he is.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Trying to do one thing and one thing only, and
that's get to the course so that he can do
what he needs to do. That's what any of them
would be thinking. That's what any of us would be thinking,
you know, whether whatever the industry may be, when you
have those type of situations of venue, say it was
a wrestler, it was a wwe was you know, SmackDown
or something like that. You know Pat McAfee needed to

(12:24):
get there, or one of the wrestlers needed to get there.
They are generally going to do what like they're not
abiding by the codes of what everyday law is.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
And I think that that's something.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
That should be established here because when you're talking in
these type of you know, circles, you can really get
caught up into social justice and what that looks like.
I think Scheffler was culpable, but for one reason or another,
I mean it was the charges were dropped because I
think that they probably had to take into consideration the

(12:58):
things that I just said, is the venue, what was
taking place, who he was to the venue, why everybody's
out there to begin with, and like, did he really
do something that was egregious enough for him to be
taking to jail when you knew all he was trying
to do was get to his tea time.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
I think that that's ultimately what it comes down to.

Speaker 6 (13:18):
Yeah, that's sort of the game. If you will you know,
for those that don't play golf from the.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
Imagine Tom Brady like somebody got and God bless right
like we said, God bless the family. Imagine Tom Brady
or Patrick Mahomes because he's playing right, he's current. Patrick
Mahomes has to get to the locker room and a
shuttle hit someone and someone passed away. It's a horrible
thing that happened. It's a bad thing that happened. But
a Q can I ask you this is that game

(13:44):
going to start on time?

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yes? It is okay?

Speaker 5 (13:48):
And that is so you had one of the main
stars that isn't going to be there for the show
because the security or the police that are there chose
to make Patrick Mahomes an example.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
I you know, and that's the tough part is I
try to see this thing from all vantage points. You know,
if you're if you're in Detective Brian Gillis's issues, you
have to look at it as you have got.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
An active crime scene from a death.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
You've got a shuttle bus that was dropped off, and
you know, tens of people, maybe one hundred people are
who are now working as vendors at the course for
the event, are being dropped off they're coming through and
it's a little bit chaotic. And then meanwhile you see
a car then pull off on the shoulder and try
to you know, find its way through to an entrance

(14:40):
that is.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Going the wrong way in traffic.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
Now at the end of the day, you know, obviously
the officer wasn't aware of that. It was a fact
it was a PGA Tour player that PGA Tour players
were being told to do that.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
But it's a PGA Tour event event and get that
take the time to collect the entail away to get
the place.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
I do think the PGA Tour should share a little
bit in the blame for one. I mean, you had players,
even after this event took place, who walked two miles
to get into the golf course. And I understand Valhalla
is a very unique place, one way in, one way out,
so they've got their logistical issues. But if you're the

(15:22):
PGA Tour, having these guys drive themselves in a marked
carb probably isn't what you should be doing. You could
probably find volunteers who will drive them. The owner of
the club end up being the one that picked up
Scottie Scheffler from jail y.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
But you know what cut.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
The way it kind of played out, there's no telling
if they would have even aboide it, if the if
the law enforcement would have even respected that.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
It just sounds like maybe he needed to find out
who it was.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
Like if this man is breaking the law right in
front of your face at a at an event that
he is participating in, that is paying the what's going
on around here? I'm sure they were getting paid from
from the venue, you know, from the event, not just
what they're they're paid regularly. They were probably getting another
fee for that. You're supposed to check, like check, like oh,

(16:13):
you're want to your one, like you can't handle it,
like he was a criminal or this a criminal a
criminal act. You have to handle it as this is
one of the players. Once he established he's one of
the players, the conversation should have changed from your breaking
the law.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
You need to stop, you need to comply, you need
to do all this too.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
Let's figure out a way to get you to where
you need to be because we know this event is
based around you guys being here.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
That's I mean to me, that's how it's always been.

Speaker 6 (16:43):
To the point of just how the cops said, hey,
you should have identified the fact he was a police officer.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
He's wearing this vest. We're all wearing these vests. Uh.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
Well, he was in a car march with a PGA
tour on it. It was an official car of the PGA
tour that the players have to get to and from.
They should that he should have been able to kind
of put two and two together as well. Look, it
was a big misunderstanding a lot of a lot of people.
You know, we're a blame here. The charges have been
dropped though, so at least that's good.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
They can move on.

Speaker 6 (17:13):
The question is whether or not there will be a
lawsuit from Scotty Scheffler, which if you're a player who's
the number one in the world. Uh, look, you can
lean into it. The mugshot, the orange jumpsuit.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Oh, it's bad. It's bad on his a pair. That's
that's that's that's for a goal for.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Where it comes from. You know, he just had a child. Eventually,
he's gonna have to explain the situation to him.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Like daddy went to jail. Yeah, daddy had an orange
jumpsuit on. Like daddy was you know, handled in this
he got.

Speaker 6 (17:41):
In there, you know, delaced. You know when when he
went in there, it was kind of like Supertroopers. I'm
sure at least.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Seen that movie.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Have you seen super Troopers? Don't recall it.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
The straw the strawberries taste like strawberries, strawberries? What he
boy makes I.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Thought it was Farva who got de licensed, took him
in there.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
I get a leader of colon tang.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
You're just.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
It's been a while, but that was on the rotation
for sure. Okay, the snosberry's tastes like snow.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
That's right, that's right. Is it safe to say before
we go to break?

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Is it safe to say to look at it from
a social justice standpoint? Like, all right, there there was
no crazy outrage. Somebody will say his white privilege whatever
they may call it, But is it safe to say
the officer, while not incorrect and and handling protocols and
in some regard, still should have identified that this is

(18:46):
a participant. I think if that's established and and then
everything that led from it, right, it's like Scheffler shouldn't
have did he shouldn't have pulled off, he should have
complied and.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
Well, he was being directed to by the PGA. So
that's what I kind of said it's their fault for
not communicating with the local police force, saying or security
whoever at Vallhalla and saying, we're telling our players to
do this, keep an eye on this. And he did
it supposedly because he just wants to do. Cars ahead
of him do it.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
But you have to know that the athletes have to
get there, like you're there. You have to know that
the athletes are trying to get to their destination. So
they should have been accommodating in that and that right
in that regard to begin with, it should have once
they identified that it was Scheffler, it should have all
been done. It should have been squashed, it should have

(19:36):
been handled differently. And I think that that's a major
piece of this because some way, somehow this will get
turned into and misconstrued and confused into, you know, well,
why wasn't it handled this way? Other things happen. People
have died for less and different things like that, And
I don't feel like that's you know, I don't feel
like that's the proper context of what took place here.

(20:00):
That's that to me, that was That's what makes this
story so interesting, because would our society find a way.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
To do it, would you still sue the Louisville.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
PD if I'm if I'm Scottie Scheffler, I'm suing because
it hurts my image. That hurt my image, and all
I was trying to do was go to work. Like again,
the whole entire reason that everything was out there, where
every everyone was at is because of us.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Yeah, it's because of us.

Speaker 6 (20:28):
There's still a part of me that he looks at
the PGA Tour and just goes and I know he
played Thursday, right, I know it, and he was in
contention obviously, But but at.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
First it probably costed him. I mean, let's be clear. Yeah, yeah,
probably costed him.

Speaker 6 (20:42):
But it was the first tournament he was back for
as well as the number one player in the world
after winning I believe what back to back tournaments after
just having a baby.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
You just kind of would have thought that they were
taking maybe a little, i don't know a little more
time around him. That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
I think it looks like it it's a winnable lawsuit,
to be honest. Yeah, I mean, even out of money
they costed him.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
It sounded like he was based on what he said
the car from the sound we played that there's some
things there that might.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Be winnable for him, but heck, hey, we went a
heck of a show today just LaVar and I. Jonas
is off.

Speaker 6 (21:17):
He's gonna be celebrating his birthday, so if you could
wish him a happy birthday or some of the mean
tweets that you know he likes to retweet out there.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
About fifteen minutes from now, and in.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
Case you missed it, we're gonna talk about one of
the worst sports teams in history and how they hit
it you low. But before we get through that, I
got to ask leave something because typically, Lee, your Wednesdays
end up being more of a party day for you yesterday.
Is Is that a fair way of putting it?

Speaker 3 (22:57):
That is a fair way of putting it. Wednesdays are
Wednesday del liveries at Todd's Bar.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Where Todd's is that the name of the bar basically
should call from here on out it.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Is Todd's Bar. Uh, well, yeah it is. It is
Todd's Bar. It's Wednesday Deliveries, which means the bar is
closed and Todd is there accepting kegs and uh.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Bottles is a real title.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Yes, Wednesday for you guys. Oh yeah, it's not the thing.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
It's not the thing for the restaurant. It's the theme
for you guys.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
It is the theme for us guys.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
So typically get I get woken up. Now, so typically
I get woken up by Todd saying where's by lunch?
And I tell him to go, you know, But anyway,
I end up there and we end up having a
making bad decisions.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Well, yes, I don't.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
Understand how viv getting deliveries of alcohol equis do you
have to get like absolutely smashed drunk.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
I'm not, well, it's not smash drunk. I mean, it's just,
you know, we gotta we gonna make We got to
make our way through the day. We're watching movies, we're
catching up on shows, We're doing our thing, and I
got to go get lunch and all that fun stuff.
But yesterday Todd was out of town. And as I detailed, yesterday,
Todd had left his phone in the Seattle airport.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
So wait did he fly back up the Seattle, Well,
he left it when he flew to Seattle.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
He left it there.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
He left it there, and then he takes a puddle
jumper o over to eastern Washington. So yesterday was his
day back, so he puddle jumped back. They told him
his phone would be ready, but unfortunately it was not.
So I had to just do my you know, my
producer due diligence and find out which flight he was
on because he had he never contacted me. I haven't
talked to Todd in like a week, but I knew

(24:43):
he was coming back.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Longest stretch for you guys?

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah, probably, How did that make you feel?

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Pretty sad? Pretty sad? But I you know, you know
what they call me? Right, No, every time I walk
into a room, Hey, perfect timing, that's what they called me.
So I owed up to the Burbank Airport, pull up
right as he's walking out the door, Boom gets in
the car and we head right to Apparently he was
he was elbowing it with some big executives. So we

(25:11):
met him over at the another sports bar and uh yeah,
Burbank and Burbank.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Yeah, and so what happened from there?

Speaker 12 (25:20):
Lee?

Speaker 3 (25:21):
From there we made our way to his karaoke bar, Okay,
and from there, I dropped him off at home and
then from there I came straight here.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
So all right, I have to disclose something. Well.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
I asked Lee about how his day one yesterday. He goes,
I'll tell you the whole whole story. His flight was
delayed two hours, but I had to pick up Todd
from the airport.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
He got no sleep.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
What time did you actually picked Todd up at yesterday?

Speaker 3 (25:47):
About eleven pm?

Speaker 6 (25:49):
Okay, so that was later that what you kind of
alluded to there. Okay, so you really are working off
of not pretty much.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
I mean I slept late. I slept in yesterday knowing
that it was going to be a full day. But yes, yeah,
that is correct.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
I have not had, you know, all because of Todd
and potentially losing.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
His cell phone. He definitely loves him being lonely.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Don't leave out Lee being lonely that he hasn't spoken
to or seen Todd.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
I'm very sad. Yeah, I'm happy now he.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Had enough talks back home for you know, that's one
way of putting it.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Todd said he went into studio, which you.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
I told him to.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Well, why didn't he?

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Because he's he's tired.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
So you there for today up and be tired, but
he didn't have to. He gets to go home and
go to sleep. Yeah, I mean, are you the woman
or the man? In which one are you? Because it
sounds like you're being a gentleman.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
I'm the man always, LeVar. Don't worry about it.

Speaker 5 (26:45):
Okay, all right, I'm just asking I speaking of the man,
someone says Stefan Diggs is the man, but he's now
down in Houston.

Speaker 6 (26:53):
How he got there is kind of the more interesting part.
And general manager Brandon Bean for the Buffalo Bills, he's
gonna gets a little bit of a sense speaking on
the Athletic NFL Show of how exactly this happened and
why it happened.

Speaker 13 (27:07):
A player of his caliber, you weigh a lot of
things on those situations, but I don't need to go
through all the reasons why we decided to go ahead
and do that. I would say, from a cap standpoint,
we decided just to go ahead and eat it now,
and we think we can compete and do what we
need to do by eating it now and then not

(27:29):
walk in the next year and go all right, because
if we didn't, if we tried to come up with.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Some way and split it, up too many different ways.

Speaker 13 (27:35):
Then now it's just like that albatross that you're just
hanging on your neck all year and you look at
your cap and you're going, oh, man, look at how
much money we still have dead.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
So that's Brandon being a general manager for the Buffalo
Bills talking about Stefan Diggs's contract situation, why they moved
off of him, trade him to the Houston Texans. Now
the only rebuttal I would have to brandan bean in
this instances. You know, why don't you just restructure his
contract because that's what happened once he got It's just.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
So funny because that's how I was.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
I was thinking in my mind like, Okay, you're you're
saying it's an abatross, but but why not be proactive
and trying to keep him there. You didn't really answer
the reason why you got rid of him, other than
if you're trying to attribute it to the contract. That
doesn't answer the personal side of it. There's a reason
why we have to eat it, like that's a negative

(28:30):
that's a negative condenptation. You're eating it because you don't
want him there, but you still have.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
To pay it.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
That's what eating it means right, right, okay, god, you
got it?

Speaker 6 (28:39):
Go it No, And so in my mind kind of
wanders to like, Okay, why couldn't you just restructure his contract,
you know, go in for it for one more year
and figure something out. But they chose not to, and
that's fine. You know, obviously was a portion of something
else going on, whether it's his relationship with Josh Allen,
his relationship with some of the folks within the building,

(29:00):
whatever the case may be.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
And maybe it would have been hard for Brenan being
to ask him to restructure his contract.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
After well, he's the one who gave him the big contract, right,
He's the one who got him there. So when it
seem a little bit kind of ridiculous to go, wait
a second, you wanted me to sign this contract in
the first place. We're both excited about it. Now you
don't want me to be making this money anymore? Like
what if I from a production standpoint, I don't think
you can argue that he doesn't deserve it reduced.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
So look, it's gonna be fascinating to see how high
the Houston Texans can climb. In my opinion with Stefan Diggs,
who's now there on kind of a one year proven deal.
Nego Collins who just signed an extension. They still got
tanked on his rookie deal. They'll be flying high. My
question to you is where are the Bills in your mind?
Because they draft Keon Coleman in the second round. They

(29:48):
signed Curtis Samuel and Matt Collins his free agents. Chase
Claypool's on that roster as well as a free agent.
We'll see if you know what he looks like. They
signed Marquez Valdez scaling it. It seems like they're trying
to you basically, replace the production of digs by wide Receiver.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Committee committee, right.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
You know, I felt like they were hitting their ceiling
and that their window was closing with Stephan Diggs. So
if I were to ask the question, which many people ask,
the question, did this team get better upon the departure
of Stephan Diggs? Did they do anything that made this
team better? And I think we would all say there's

(30:30):
too many question marks surrounding the guys that they've signed.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
To say that it's a definitive yes.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
So if you didn't become a better team, and I
was already thinking that this was a team that may
have hit hit their ceiling proverbially for proverbial belief talk
for a living right, But the idea of it is
is that they're still good enough to win their division.
So it's kind of It's kind of to me. I

(30:57):
think this is a one of those scenario where are
we judging them based off of their regular season success
or are we judging them off of their postseason success?
Because like I said about the Jets, I'm judging the
Jets off of their postseason performances. So I'm judging the
Dallas Cowboys off of postseason performance. If they don't do

(31:20):
well this Buffalo team doesn't do well in the playoffs,
I think the season was a failure. And I feel
like that validates me saying I think that this team
may be close to, if not hitting their ceiling, on
what this team currently is capable of doing, I don't
think the Stefan Digg situation.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Made a better que.

Speaker 6 (31:41):
Nope, I tend to agree with you, and we'll be
fascinating to see what the Buffalo Bills end up being
this season and if they truly can still compete, as
you heard Brandon Bean say just a few moments ago,
as I mentioned earlier. Coming up next, one of the
worst sports are the teams in sports? Hits a new low.
But what about the commands name We'll talk about on

(32:02):
the other side of the break.

Speaker 10 (32:35):
You can't get to everything in the world of sports
or entertainment. Good thing the guys are here to bring you.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
In case you missed it, all right, Lee, what do
we got?

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Well? Good morning, Brady, Good morning, LeVar, Good morning everybody
out there. Well, in case you miss this, in case
you work you know, Hailey, Hey, buddies, guys, In case
you miss this. The Mets lost to the Dodgers on Tuesday,
and if you missed that game, you might have missed
something very exciting, which was a reliever Jorge Lopez, throwing
his glove into the stands, which of course got him ejected.

(33:12):
After the game, this is what he had to say.

Speaker 12 (33:15):
I don't regret it. I think I've been looking. The
worst team in brought him the whole MLB. So you know,
whatever happened happened. So whatever they want to do it.
I'm ready to come back tomorrow and they want may
be here, so I'll be here.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Well, he won't be there because he is now designated
for assignment, likely ending his time with the Mets.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
Oh oh.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
I was more kind of wondering, like, it's kind of
cool though, someone it's that club, right.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
That is kind of cool, right, Like he thought it
didn't connected with the controversy that in basketball they always
ask for the ball back. In football, do they ask
for the football back?

Speaker 5 (33:53):
I think only if it's like a record, Well it's
a Hall of Fame type deal where they want to
deliver it the Hall of Fame and they'll ask for
it back and give them like a autograph, jersey or
something like that. But for the most part. Every time
I scored a touchdown, I threw it in.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
The stands, Good for you.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Every time I gave it to a fan, good for you,
and you never wanted it back. No, I want fans to.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Have how many football do you have like on display?
Both of you guys, like, how many footballs do you
have like on display?

Speaker 5 (34:21):
I moved here, I had, I had a twenty thousand
square foot house full of memorabilia relatable literally square foot
would say, was that the one with the uh, the
coy pond inside?

Speaker 2 (34:35):
That's correct?

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Oh it's all blown away?

Speaker 4 (34:39):
Wasn't blown away?

Speaker 2 (34:40):
They lost power? Oh?

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, oh I thought, I thought, okay, never, No, that's right,
that's right.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Okay, my buckets is in stories all.

Speaker 6 (34:48):
Maybe this is a dumb story or a dumb question
that asked not to bring it up again. But why
just because you lost power? Did the fish have to die?
Just does it need to be circulation or something happened
in the water.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
There has to be There has to be circulating, like
the filters do something to circulate the air and the
water or whatever whatever it is. They need to breathe, yeah, oxygen,
whatever it is, they need to breathe.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
The filters needed to be on, okay, And once they
went out.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
I was thinking they could live like in stagnant water
for a little while, right.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
I mean you would assume that stagnant I mean natural
water is natural water. So I don't know why I
would have needed a filter. But it was a lot
of them. There was a lot of them.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
Do you think you had too many?

Speaker 8 (35:35):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Maybe the issue? It wasn't too many. They was reproducing though.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
It pus like love island in there.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Oh, they was getting it in Coy's are friendly to
one another.

Speaker 6 (35:49):
So so really the overpopulation might have been the fact
that maybe you should have just had all one when
sex in there, like they just.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Thought about it.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
That to what that?

Speaker 5 (36:02):
I mean, that would be interesting to watch that whole process.
Get some marsh mellows, circle up the little pond and
watch all that that take place, you know, like make
it a thing.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Maybe one day, you know, maybe.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
One day what else you got.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Live will fellas. The Washington Post posted a poll that
fifty of residents either dislike or hate the commander's nickname.
But Marjorie Harris, of course, the wife of majority owner
Josh Harris, says the name isn't going anywhere for now,
as also echoed by team president Jason Wright, and.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
The name doesn't need to go anywhere. They need to
settle in on something.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
Listen there, it's not a it's commanders is like we
joke about it, but it's it's not.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
A horrible name.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
Their performances can change everything. It's been more of the
performance and the lack of accomplishment the reason why you're
going to have fans not liking anything, you know. But
if they make they have some success, they should be
all right.

Speaker 6 (37:03):
It's a good point. If they were like winning super bowls,
you can call them the buildos for all they care
that no one would really care. They're right, we had
the super Bowl, still does but we've got time for
one more leaders and not enough time.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
But uh, you know. Brian Belichick talked about filling in
for the Patriots, said it's time for him to separate
himself from his dad, even though they were both connected
by football.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
That makes sense, but I wonder will he still make
them faces on the sideline
