That's right, Var, Ready to switch up the music a
little bit for you.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
I'm trying to get a hold of what it is
I know to beat.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Tops drop on Fat Pat. I mean, someone called this
the greatest rap song of all time. Man, come on now,
I ain't gonna hate on Fat Pat. I don't know
how you could hold of it immediately, that's all.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, this is this is the walkout music right now.
I'm with you, Okay, that's.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
LaVar Anson, I'm Brady Quinn, No, Jonas Knox today here
on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Usually people
just call this this version of our show two Pros
and a Cup. But speaking of cup, nothing better than
hitting the bottom of the Cup in AUGUSTA. If we
could cue the Music League for what was an incredible
finish to a historic moment for Roy McRoy. Pulling off

(01:39):
the Grand Slam, finally winning all four majors about eleven
years apart, doing it in a similar timeframe is his uh.
I don't want to say idol, but a guy he
grew up watching and competing and doing the same thing
in tiger Woods. But Roy McRoy becomes the sixth the
golfer in the history to win the Grand Slam, so

(02:00):
putting his legacy up there with some of the greatest
to ever do it. And of course it wasn't without drama.
They ended up having to do it in a playoff fashion.
Justin Rose, who was clutched down the stretch a huge
putt on eighteen just to put him into contention. And
Roy macroor, who at times his wedges kind of failed
him on some of his approach shots, still found a

(02:21):
way to give bogey but in the end on eighteen
hit an unbelievable approach shot to then tap in for
a Burdy and ultimately win the tournament.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
So kudos to Roy McRoy and his huge win.

Speaker 5 (02:35):

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Should be var Did you did you have a chance
to watch any of the Masters?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Yes, chance to watch of course, I had a chance
to watch it. Yes. The answer to that is yet.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
So the next question is.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Did you no?

Speaker 6 (03:06):
No?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yeah, I mean I saw the highlights. Yeah, you know,
I saw the highlights, But no, I tend to want
to keep my record year to year, you know, from
the Masters or pretty much any other golf tournament that
takes place. I have a zero I've watched it record

(03:30):
so far. I don't want to break it, you know,
just okay, I don't want to break it. And you
can represent that portion of our fan base. But we
do have to cover some of the major events. And
you know what, you haven't heard me give you one problem.
I looked at the rundown. No problems like yeah, yeah,
just don't expect me to be too much of a participant.

(03:53):
What took place, that's all. But shots are worst worst
to McIlroy. You know, good for him. He was an
underarmoor guy, right or still is.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Actually no, I'm not sure. I think you're thinking of
Jordan Speedy.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
Yeah he's Yeah, Rory's been Nike, I believe for the entirety,
and in fact, Nike.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Rolled out a pretty dope commercial.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Well it's not just that, like the commercial they rolled
out right after he won was pretty sweet. It was
basically him as he was a young Irish lad watching Tiger,
watching Tiger have all this success and everything else. They
showed it, uh, the famous chipping into his his washing
machine in his house. They showed some clips of that stuff,
which was something that he actually did. He did it

(04:42):
on a game show when he was very young. But
they showed all of that, and that kind of builds
up to this moment where he finally gets to the
t box to get to play with Tiger Woods. So
almost the way of Nike saying like, hey, this is
a passing of the torch, if you will, from Tiger
to Rory. Now that Rory has been able to complete
the Grand Slam as well, Tiger Woods being one of
the six players in golf history to ever do it,

(05:05):
so Lee, if you wouldn't mind, let's hear from Roy
McElroy after his big win there in the Butler Cabin
at Augusta.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
It feels incredible. This is my seventeenth time here, and
I started to wonder if it would ever be my time,
and I think, you know, the last ten years coming
here with the burden of the Grand Slam on my
shoulders and trying to achieve that. I'm sort of wondering
what we're all going to talk about going into the
next year's pastors. But I'm just absolutely honored and thrilled,

(05:33):
and I'm just so proud to be able to call
myself a master shower. When I hit the wedg shot
into the creek on thirteen, you know, I felt like
I did a really good job of bointing back from
that and the you know, the double boogie at the
first as well. But I was really nervous going out,
and it was almost as if the double boogie at
the first calmed my nerves a little bit and sort
of cut me into it in a funny way. And

(05:55):
I just think all week how I responded two setbacks.
I think that's what I'll take from this week, And
you know, couldn't be more proud of myself for that
and being able to binds back when I needed to.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
You know, it's interesting for those who follow golf follow
Roy mcroy's career. If you watched eighteen and when he
missed the putt four parr, you thought, here we go again.
Maybe it's gonna be elusive, maybe he won't be able
to do it, And there probably were some moments throughout
the round where you might have thought that. But for
most of those who followed golf, you gotta be happy

(06:27):
for Rory, and particular because when the tour needed someone
to put really them on their back and represent them
in a way, to carry the flag for them, especially
during the time of which there was somewhat of an
exodus to live tour ry, mccrroy did that, and he
really was the player that could have profited big time.

(06:47):
I mean, we're talking hundreds of millions of dollars by
going over to the live tour, and instead he stayed
loyal to the PGA Tour. He continued to compete, he
continued to talk about the different is between the two
and why he didn't want to do it.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Was very outspoken about.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
It, and that actually even played a factor in the
round as well as obviously bryceon d Chambeau who came
into the day in second place after an incredible third round.
But you could tell there's a little bit of tension
between the two. I mean, obviously both players trying to win,
and Bryson d Schambau didn't put together the day he
wanted to. But let's see it from Bryce and d

(07:23):
Chambeau on just maybe some of the emotions or lack
of emotions and any conversation between the two.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Did you speak to him that how's he doing?

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Is you know, no idea? And it didn't talk to
me once all day?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Could you try and initiate conversation with you.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Rory at On he wouldn't talk to me.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
I don't know if this win for Rory not only
does it cement him in.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
His legacy in golf, but also as we kind of
look at golf as a whole, if it's going to.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Lead to now maybe there's a bit.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Of a rivalry between the two, which would be a
great thing for golf. I think it's something that's been
missing maybe for a little bit, to something to read
now that you have to live toward the PGA Tour.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
You might get some more of this in some of
the majors, but it's.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
If you could see, you could sense there was some
tension there between the two. Unfortunately, again Bryson really dropped back,
So it wasn't like Roy was playing Bryson per se.
It was almost the rest of the field that he
was trying to stay ahead of and and beat either way. Uh,
it was interesting to watch. For those of you that
did watch it could kind of feel some of that
tension out there. But uh, let's get the rest of

(08:28):
business out of the way with the masters, because clearly, LeVar,
we can't keep talking about this topic if you're.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Knocking up to see how long you can carry it for.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Like me, I could do a solo show on a Buddy.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
H show three hours talking this. Yeah, there's a lot
of different Let's see, let's see if you can do it. Well.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
We've we've got a lot of other you get paid to.
We gotta get you involved. We've got a lot of
other topics that to get to today too. Uh, leave
the hat draw. If I'm not mistaken, you got Rory
McRoy from the hat.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
Of course I got Rory had draw him I've been
killing it with the hat draws lately.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (09:06):
I got Don Florida for the Championship and h Rory
for the Masters. Feeling really good about the hat draws here, fellas.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Who else did the rest of us have that they
don't even come close?

Speaker 7 (09:15):
No, not really, especially on our second drawing we did. Uh,
we did not do good. Nobody picked up Justin Rose
even though he was in the hat. Of course, on
the second day we had Scheffler, Schoffley, Marikawa. None of
those guys got I think we had a top ten
and there was Shawfley. Yeah. Uh, what else did we have?

(09:36):
So we had Day, Lorena had Jason Day. Where did
he finish? That was your second day? We're mighty market,
mighty mark pick for you.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Yeah, and then we didn't work out for you joined
the club.

Speaker 7 (09:54):
Budd We also had we had Scottie Schffler, like we
had mentioned, that was the problem to the next highest
for Jodas, we had Ludwig Auburg. Ludvig Auburg for for
LeVar was probably is the second highest.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Okay, there you go.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
And then for the record, for what it's worth, Quinn's wins,
I did go three for five had Scheffler to win.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Obviously didn't win. That was a miss.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
He got finished fourth, so lost, you know, one hundred
bucks ten bucks with the show.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Though this could have been the one for Rory. You
did say it I will.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
So that that one I actually bet as a top
ten finish. But to your point, I did give out
the odds for it, said if you want to that'd
be the other one.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I'd go to win it.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
So depending on how you look at it, that was
at minus one forty, so that was a hit I
hit with Shaffley. Shoffley finished in the top ten, so
that would have been plus two hundred, so you would
have been a nice little payout there.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Colin Moore, a cow I hit for.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Plus what excuse me, minus one seventy for a top
twenty finish.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
So all in all, if you had listened to it, you.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Would won one hundred and thirty bucks from the UH
from all five bets. So again miss can't Ley too.
I think I had him in the top twenty finish.
He ended up tying for thirty sixth, but nevertheless could
have won some money, could have won a little bit
money money out of that, but golfing gambling. Golf is
kind of hard and yet it can kind of be
easy at the same time, if you know, like some

(11:20):
of the best players, I guess, Yeah, it.

Speaker 7 (11:23):
Was tough to see uh Ludwig with that triple bogie
on eighteen too.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
That was that was tough for you. That was tough.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
I was ritting for every Yeah, golf is I kind
of I kind of compare golf to gymnastics when my
wife competed, like everyone wants to see all the girls
do well, like they hate seeing people fall. In my mind,
like when I would be watching and my wife was competing,
I'm like, no, I'm rooting for other people to fall

(11:51):
because like my wife's competing, Like I know that's good
for her if they're falling.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
So like I didn't.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
It wasn't like I was like, oh, you know, like
I wasn't sad, like, oh, that's come on, Like let's
let's get this thing going. We need to go win
this gold. We're gonna win something here. So that's that's
the one thing about golf. It's kind of similar. People
don't want to see guys play poorly. Especially on eighteen.
It was a huge crowd. You could kind of sense
that like people are like felt bad, like they just
want to get this guy off the course.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Dang, yeah, that's kind of rude.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
I mean, I'm just being honest, though, you're.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
A savage for for the gymnastics thing, by the way, I.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Want to hurt themselves.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
I'm just saying you're still a savage though. I mean
you could. You could.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
You're telling me what the US is up there when
the US is competing, you don't. You're you're not like
rooting for the US, so you're rooting against everyone else.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
I want them, I want them to do well. I
do watch gymnastics too, by the way, I'm really big
into that. Uh, but any any sport I like to
see people compete. I don't I don't necessarily look at
it from the standpoint of I hope they fall. It's
kind of fed up, but I definitely get it. Though.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Here's the tough part about gymnastics, not to get off
on a complete tangent. Start value is huge, So there's
start value and execution. So for some of the participants,
their start value is so high even with poor execution
meaning they fall, fall or mess up or leave stuff out,
they can still beat other people who do a flawless routine.

(13:24):
So you almost need them if they're going to fall right, Yeah,
you basically need them to mess up if you're going
to have other people beat them. So anyway, just peeling
back the curtain a little bit. I'm competitive, man, that's.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
That you're you are competitive, dude, Bro, that is for certain.
I like it. Yeah, I feel bad I people half step.
I'll tell you that. So yeah, that's true.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
That's true.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Speaking of half step, congratulations bro, like you hit fourteen.
You you carried Rory for fourteen and go for fourteen.
So well, golfers and golf enthusiasts take a give a
give a round of applause, Q, take a bow man,
because if you could go three hours doing that, wyoh bless,

(14:11):
it doesn't sound like you would. You would slow down either,
by the way, So there you go.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
I do love golf. I could, you know, get into
this for quite some time.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
But we got a lot of other other business to
get to today, a lot of the topics to talk about,
in particular some crazy stuff that's happening this time of
year in the NFL. You don't think these stories pop up.
I've never actually heard of this before. Uh, but it's
it's real, it's happening, and it's going to impact potentially
the way one team drafts. So coming up here next

(14:40):
on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Uh, there's
a need for a QB. It just got a little
bit more desperate for one particular team. We'll talk to
talk about that on the other side of this break.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three a. I'm
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
It's two Pros and a Cup of Joe. We're just
two pros and a cup. No Jonas Knox today. You know,
we talked a little bit ago LeVar about one particular
NFL team that may now be in a quarterback need
that we weren't really sure if that was the case.
Some unexpected news came out of New Orleans just a

(15:26):
few days ago. Derek Carr. It's believe he's got a
shoulder issue, is how it's being reported. It might require
surgery and could jeopardize the twenty twenty five season. Now,
this is obviously coming off a season where he missed
seven games due to a oblique injury and a fractured
left hand, plus concussion as well, so he's had a

(15:47):
bunch of injuries. He signed a big time contract with
the Saints, and I think it's left them probably a
bit disappointed. It doesn't all fall on Derek Carr's shoulders,
but the timing of all this is really surprising for
me most players at this point in time in the year,
as far as if you're a quarterback and throwing and

(16:10):
even training, I mean, you're building up strength and you're
trying to build a good base or a foundation to
continue to keep getting stronger as you get into OTA's
mini camp and then really training camp, and then you're
just trying to maintain during the course of the year.
But you almost never hear of a quarterback dealing with

(16:30):
a shoulder injury. And again we don't know specifics to it,
we've just seen the report, but it does put a
lot into question for the New Orleans Saints, where if
Derek Carr is healthy, to me, maybe they still go with.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
A quarterback, but more than likely.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Than not, they could pass up up on that opportunity
and then maybe wait for another year. But again, a
shoulder injury on your throwing shoulder this time of year
draws a lot of questions in my mind, What were
your thoughts on your heard this news.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
I kind of looked at it more like fake news. Q.
I really came away from it thinking that then they
just they just did something with his contract, like they
converted something or or something. They did something with his
contract where it's I guess it showed that they were

(17:24):
going to keep him and and not try to part
ways because I think that was a major conversation coming
into this offseason, regardless of where he at, where he's
at health wise right now. So I guess the reason
why I feel like it's kind of fake news is
is if it were a significant injury, I really believe

(17:49):
we would have heard about New Orleans being more aggressive
in the quarterbacks free agency market. That's what I honestly believe.
And even if it were a posturing situation, because I
still I wonder why even why would it be released

(18:09):
to rap report or why would it be a report
now only a week away from from the draft, Like
I don't know how that plays a part in supporting
and helping New Orleans, whatever their play may be for
the draft, I think the conversation has come up that

(18:30):
they may want to look for a quarterback because again,
the long term, the long term play for New Orleans
probably is not with Derek Carr. So I think that
there is the idea of entertaining who who's in the draft,
and do you feel like that pick is good enough

(18:51):
you know where you're sitting to be able to get it,
and if it's not good enough at nine, do you
try to figure out a way to move up because
you would think that maybe the Jets or maybe the
Raiders are pinpointing one of the quarterbacks that you may
be interested in. I don't know how this all plays out,

(19:15):
but honestly, I feel like this gave me like fake
news vibes all the way because again, like you said,
if this was an injury of true significance, like, Okay,
is it possible that you could injure yourself right now
during doing throwing and during it during you know, the

(19:36):
off season stuff, I would say, yeah, it's possible.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
It'd be a freak accident. I mean, honestly, this time
of year, we're really working on a lot of your
posterial chain or really the poster of your throwing arm.
So you're working on all those decelerators and you're really
trying to build up more stability and strength within the shoulder, I.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Mean really your full body, your core and everything.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
But the pitch count shouldn't be high enough where you're
gonna put yourself through any potential harm. Now, Derek Carr
is getting up there. I guess in Age, I think
we take sometimes that for granted. I mean, it's just
gets you here when you well, you're when you're in
your mid thirties, you know that freak things happen, So
maybe that's part of it. To answer your question about
the restructure of the contract, they did restructure Derek Carr's

(20:20):
contract back in March. They converted thirty million of his
base salary and ten million of a roster bonus into
a signing bonus. So that freed up about thirty point
nine million in UH the twenty twenty five cap and
so load has hit to like twenty point four million.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
So like signified a buy into Derek Carr being their gy.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Correct, yes, for two reasons, one this year being one
of the reasons for that, but also next year, because
he's got a big capick of a sixty nine point
two million.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
They're gonna have.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
To figure out how to handle that that cap it
within probably another restructuring, and at that point he'll be
thirty five years old. He's thirty four this year, but
he does have three votable years attached to the back
end of it. So I mean, technically they could figure
out a way of reducing the cap hit even in
twenty twenty six, but you would imagine that they would
have to do some things where someone else is gonna

(21:13):
have to either fut that bill in a trade scenario,
or they're going to have to take on a portion
of that cap hit and moving into future years. But
either way, Derek Carr is sitting pretty at least in
regards to the finances that are involved around what the
Saints own at this point.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
I don't think it's that critical. Honestly, I don't think
this is a critical mass report. I don't think this
is a critical mass I just don't get the feeling
that what he has going on health wise is a
crazy concern. I would say, whatever it is that the
New Orleans Saints are thinking right now as to what
they're going to do in the draft that's been there playing.

(21:53):
I don't think they're playing changes. So if they take
a quarterback with their pick, then that was what they
were intending to do before all of this news hit.
Because I don't believe, in my gut, I don't believe,
you know, in my estimation that Derek Carr will miss
this like child or put the season in jeopardy. I

(22:15):
don't think that this is that type of deal. I think, Yeah,
I feel like it's fake news. Q. I really do, like, Okay,
it's being reported because that's what you know, maybe it's
been it's been put out there, like okay, something with
his shoulder. He's you know, considering should there be surgery
and stuff like that. Like I get it, but I
just feel like that's a juicy tidbit for clickbait heading

(22:38):
into a final week of leveraging the draft, and obviously
the quarterbacks conversation has been a big one. I mean,
why isn't Aaron Rodgers name come up? You know, if
you feel as though you know there's something that is
going on with Derek Carr right now and you're in

(23:00):
you know, you're in a situation where you're in the market.
Four quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still available, So if this
is a significant injury, then there should be information surfacing
about at least New Orleans having a conversation with Aaron Rodgers,
or at least there being the conversation about, you know,

(23:21):
what's Kirk Cousin's availability or what have you. I just
don't feel like the information aligns in a way where
it would make me feel like there was something really
seriously wrong with Derek Carr at this point.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
It's just odd the timing of all this to your
point in regards to how it relates to the draft,
but also there's a lot of thought that you know,
Derek Carr and probably in his mind feels like he's
done enough at times to solidify or secure himself.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
As being a guy viewed as a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
I don't know that he's got or has got done
that much in New Orleans to be able to have
Saints fans say that, but it seems like they've wanted
to maybe go younger or take a younger guy. Then
maybe it's learning under Derek Carr for a year or two.
You know, it seems like that what the Green Bay
path has has worked for Not only did it work
for Aaron Rodgers, it looks it looks like it's worked

(24:18):
for Jordan Love. Maybe a lot of other other teams
want to take that approach. Well, they draft a quarterback high,
but let him sit for a year, let him sit
for two years. You know, that might be the way
that more teams want to do this. And if Kellen Moore,
a former quarterback who's now the head coach, could be
giving some of that sentiment to a lot of the
front office there in New ow and saying, if we're

(24:39):
going to take a guy, let's not start him right away,
you know, let's give him an opportunity to learn from
a veteran. So to your point about the plan all
the way, you know what I mean, Like, that's the
well for this report. If that's the plan you did, right,
I don't think his injury makes that the plan now.
I think that's what if that's what they're thinking, that's
what they were already thinking, I would assume maybe. I

(25:02):
think I think the other end of this conversation is
this isn't a great year for quarterbacks, and they're surely
not going to get the guy that everyone uses the
number one quarterback in cam.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Ward and so it's that if that's the case, do
you are you?

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Are you not upset with a team underperforming and finding
its way in the number one overall spot for what
could be Arch Manning in the twenty twenty sixth draft,
because he's I'll put it this way, he is going
to be that prospect, mark my words. April fourteenth, twenty
twenty five. He's going to be that prospect after this

(25:38):
year that everyone's gonna be clamoring for. I'm just I'm
telling you right now. And the tough thing is is
he hasn't played a ton. So it's gonna happen this
next year and then he'll be ready to go.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Now.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
I don't know if the young man will decide, because
it will have the eligibility left, if he'll want to
go back to Texas. But from what I've seen his twos,
his intangibles, his pedigree, and I think what he's going
to do in Steve Sarkegian's offense in Texas this year,
I think it's gonna prove to a lot of people
that he's going to be that next Manning. And how

(26:13):
appropriate would it be if he falled into his grandfather's
footsteps and he ends up a New Orleans Saint. There'd
be I mean, that'd be storylines for days about that.
So I'm sure there's a thought somewhere out there if
they could get by this year without taking a quarterback

(26:35):
and not putting themselves in that situation, maybe it would
make some sense.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
Oh, a whole entire season.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
I mean, the colt still it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
I mean, if you feel that good about him. I know,
I remember we had the debate about arch when I
was in state college. I remember exactly where I was
and what I was, you know, I was sitting around
in the last building and I asked you guys the question,
do you see you know, arch being taken out once

(27:08):
the starter gets back healthy? Because I mean once I
saw him playing, once I saw the way his teammates
responded to him, it just looked as though it would
have been okay to keep Archie in, you know. And
so I think the handwriting certainly was on the wall

(27:29):
for Arch as it applies to the New Orleans Saints.
I mean, you got guys getting up there in age
cam Jordan, I believe is in his fifteenth season. You
don't have too much more time with him as an
active member of this team. They have so many needs
on this team, and if I were looking at what's feasible,

(27:53):
is it feasible to think that you should take a
better player, then a higher player than whatever quarterbacks that
are on the board at that time. I would probably
if I'm looking at it the way you just explained it,
I certainly would go in position of making the team

(28:14):
better overall with a rookie contract with that top pick,
knowing that there's a strong possibility that to turn around
on this could be we could end up putting ourselves
in position to get arched the following draft. That's what
it is, and I feel like that's even more reason
to try to get maybe the best player that you
could possibly get. It could be a Tataroa, you could

(28:37):
go with it. To me, I feel like he's he
could be a steal of this draft. I mean, people
like and I hate to do the comparison because of
the backgrounds, but you know, Puka Nakua has been a
freaking dog for the Rams. I hate to do it,
but I mean, you know, it's the background. I mean,
it is their background that that kind of connects them.

(28:58):
But I think McMillan is I think he will be
a star at the next level. Q Like how you're
talking about Arch being that guy next year. In terms
of four receivers in this year's draft, I think he's
a I think he's a stud. He's done. He's done
a lot at Arizona. So I would be looking to

(29:20):
see if New Orleans, if if they indeed take a
you know, take a lap on on a quarterback, but
but dial in on what they feel is someone that
can really improve them, you know, in other spots that
they need. They probably they definitely need a receiver. They

(29:41):
they need an edge, they need they need an edge,
they need coverage. I mean they they can use players
at this point. So yeah, I don't I don't. I
don't see this being a big, big news news story.
Even though way rap Aport put it out there, it

(30:02):
kind of comes across is like, man like, oh, their
season is you know, it's up for grabs right now.
I mean they were a five to one team last
year and as you mentioned, he was injured for much
of the year, so you're already looking at it from
the standpoint he's getting older. He just had an injury.
You know, a heavy injury year this year for US,

(30:24):
you should already be thinking that, whether there's an injury
or not, as to what is your future, what's next
with with Derek Carr. So I don't know. I think
their plan as their plan.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
I think you've got to think about the future too,
and in two ways. Yeah, obviously, you know Trup worries
about the short term here and now, but you do
have a new head coach, and I'm sure there's an
element of him looking at the roster, looking at what
they've built and saying, you know, we don't need to
completely rebuild, but if we can position ourselves to, you know,
get a guy like Archie Manning, I'm you're all for that, right,

(30:58):
I mean most teams, I think would. I think the
problem with the NFL is there is no lottery system.
It still gets awarded to the team that has the
worst record. And what I'd be curious to see is
if Saints fans would buy in for them, Like, would
you buy in for a year where you tanked and
it was not obvious, but you know it. It may
you know you were the worst team in the league,

(31:19):
but you position yourselves to take a guy like arch
Manning who could ultimately turn around your franchise. And I'm
not saying, you know, Derek Carr can't win a bunch
of games for you, but arch Manning's gonna be looked
at as a different.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
Prospect than Derek Carr was coming out.

Speaker 5 (31:33):
And honestly, with where the Saints are at, where Derek
Carr is at, especially with the injuries last year. Now
he's got the shoulder situation, we don't know specifics to it.
It almost makes you think like maybe it would be
the worst timing for it, and it stinks to take
that hit for a year, But on the other side
of it, it could actually be you know, some really
prosperous years, a lot of success moving forward.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
But I just think a lave and a team map
out the gate. I think you get Derek Carr healthy.
I think it gives you a decent season. And now
you got to ask yourself the question, if they're competitive,
then what does that mean for what.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
They're right, No one's gonna, I promise you this the
team that's gonna be in position the draft number one
next year.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
They're not treading now that spot.

Speaker 5 (32:25):
So to me, that'll be a completely different deal again
because of the hype around Arch and once he plays,
and to your point, like last year watching Arch manning
in compares to Quinn yours and look supposed to be
quin Yours was dealing with a shoulder injury. He was
banged up to I think he had a bleak injury.
So there was some reasons why it didn't look quite

(32:46):
the same. But I mean they created a package for Arch,
you know, just because of his athletic ability. I mean,
it looked like he had a stronger arm. He's a
he's a bigger prospect as it is. His body's the
NFL game, the better player. I mean, we'll being honest, honestly,
and you can you could probably make that claim about
a number of younger quarterbacks. I remember watching Julian Sand

(33:08):
for Ohio State in the spring game and saying, like
and even Aaron Nolan who was at Ohio State, and
watching those two guys, like those guys had more upside. Now,
Will Howard ultimately ended up delivering Ohio State a national championship,
but you think about some of the losses they sustained
during the season, you kind of wonder if it was
Julian Sand, if it was someone else.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Does that turn out different? You know?

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Now they're going to have their opportunity to kind of
put their stamp on the season this year, to see
what it looks like.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
But I digress.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
I do think again, there's a theory that maybe Arch
Manning or AA Manning finds his way back onto the
New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Roster a year from now man depending on how the
Saints might handle it.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
Okay, yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 5 (33:53):

Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment. Good thing, the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
It, all right, Lee, what do we got?

Speaker 7 (36:26):
Good morning, everybody, Good morning, Braddy, Good morning, LeVar, guys.
In case you missed this, not necessarily an uplifting story,
tragedy in Houston as draft prospect and former LSU wide
receiver Kiren Lacy has reportedly taken his own life after
a police chase. Lots of ins and outs on this story,

(36:46):
but in case you missed it, tragedy before the NFL Draft.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah, that's sad man. I don't know that whole details. Yeah,
I don't know the whole details on it, but that's
unfortunate ending to a young man's life wasted.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Like, yeah, a lot of stuff going on outside of
some of the recent events.

Speaker 5 (37:07):
What's happened, so obviously there is some reason as to
a while though, his attorney came out made a statement
what you'd expect. You know that he would have been
found to not be I guess guilty of what he
was being charged with or potentially charged with, but nonetheless,

(37:28):
terrible situation all the way around, no matter how you
look at it.

Speaker 7 (37:33):
Yep, Prayers to the family's His father also released the
statement saying, check on your people and check on your
children's mental health, which is a good sentiment. Everyone should
do that. So yeah, thoughts and prayers out to Kyraen
Lacy's family, guys.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
In case you missed it, we'll move on from that.

Speaker 7 (37:48):
Bill Belichick has his new book that'll be releasing shortly
called the Art of Winning Tales and Stories from his
career in football. One big omission though from the book,
no mention of mister Robert Craft, even though in the
acknowledgments it mentions three hundred and sixty three other people.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
Oh, probably gives you a little sense of how that
relationship's doing. I mean, the bottom line is, ultimately Robert
Craft moved on from Bill Belichick. I don't know how
much credit Robert Kraft gives Bill Belichick, And in reality,
it's between Tom and Bill. The kind of brought everything

(38:28):
there to New England. So I'm sure Robert sides more
with Tom Brady. But Bill Belichick was a big piece
of that too, and he's arguably the greatest coach of
all time. So it's a bit surprising that Robert Kraft
could let the relationship get to that point not be
more gracious or thankful for what Bill Belichick did.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
I'm excited to see what he's going to do. Honestly,
he just brought Lil Wayne, and like on the Sneak,
we're getting to know a side of Bill Belichick that
maybe we've never had apportunity to get to know. We
started to get to know it in the media a
little bit. Dude has personality and he's got something with

(39:08):
him that makes him one of the goats of goats
at the coaching position. So he's starting to win me
over a little bit. Like, I see what he's doing,
who he's looking at. He's brought at Penn State or
in there to former d lineman. I saw that that
they landed, you know, a guy from there, So I mean,
you leave them out that that is what it is.

(39:29):
Personal preference. But I'm actually getting a little excited to
see what he's able to do this upcoming college season.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Yeah, you got time for anything else? Leading sure.

Speaker 7 (39:38):
Speaking of goats, mister John Daily a tradition looked.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Unlike any other.

Speaker 7 (39:42):
You know, he would always post up at the Hooters.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
He's been doing this for about thirty years.

Speaker 7 (39:45):
This might be coming to it end, but reportedly we
don't know the numbers from this year, but last year
he sold roughly seven hundred and eighty thousand dollars worth
of merch at these things, forty dollars, hats, ten dollars,
autograph balls, boxes of cigars, all that stuff that might
be coming to an end. One year he sold that much, Yes,
and one year.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Wow, isn't that amazing? That is crazy.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
He's also post that you sent like I'm more of
a fan today.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
That's what's more for the break, That's what terial for
the break.

Speaker 4 (40:15):
More and more, more and more,
